1Tongue coating microbiome as a potential biomarker for gastritis including precancerous cascade显示文摘The development of gastritis is associated with an increased risk of gastric cancer. Current invasive gastritis diagnostic methods are not suitable for monitoring progressIn this work based on 78 gastritis patients and 50 healthy individuals, we observed that the variation of tongue-coating microbiota was associated with the occurrenee and development of gastritis. Twenty-one microbial species were identified for differentiating tongue-coating microbiomes of gastritis and healthy individuals. Pathways such as microbial metabolism in diverse environments, biosynthesis of antibiotics and bacterial chemotaxis were up-regulated in gastritis patients. The abundance of Campylobacter concisus was found associated with the gastric precancerous cascade. Furthermore, Campylobacter concisus could be detected in tongue coating and gastric fluid in a validation cohort containing 38 gastritis patients. 2Engineered three-dimensional scaffolds for enhanced bone regeneration in osteonecrosis显示文摘Osteonecrosis,which is typically induced by trauma,glucocorticoid abuse,or alcoholism,is one of the most severe diseases in clinical orthopedics.Osteonecrosis often leads to joint destruction,and arthroplasty is eventually required.Enhancement of bone regeneration is a critical management strategy employed in osteonecrosis therapy.Bone tissue engineering based on engineered three-dimensional(3D)scaffolds with appropriate architecture and osteoconductive activity,alone or functionalized with bioactive factors,have been developed to enhance bone regeneration in osteonecrosis.In this review,we elaborate on the ideal properties of 3D scaffolds for enhanced bone regeneration in osteonecrosis,including biocompatibility,degradability,porosity,and mechanical performance.In addition,we summarize the development of 3D scaffolds alone or functionalized with bioactive factors for accelerating bone regeneration in osteonecrosis and discuss their prospects for translation to clinical practice.Tongtong Zhu Yutao Cui Mingran Zhang Duoyi Zhao Guangyao Liu Jianxun Ding 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,3:14
3Study on primal CO gas generation and emission of coal seam显示文摘The main method of casting coal spontaneous combustion is prediction of index gases, with carbon monoxide(CO) commonly used as an index gas. However, coal spontaneous combustion is not the sole source of CO evolution; primal CO is generated through coalification, which can lead to forecasting mistakes. Through theoretical analysis, primal CO generation and emission from coal seams was determined.In this study, six coal samples were analyzed under six different experimental conditions. The results demonstrated the change in coal seam primal gas and concentration as functions of time, different coal samples, occurrence, various gas types and composition concentration, which are in agreement with the previous study on primal CO generation. Air charging impacts on primal gas emission. 5M3SC:A Generic Dataset for Mixed Multi-Modal(MMM)Sensing and Communication Integration显示文摘The sixth generation(6G)of mobile communication system is witnessing a new paradigm shift,i.e.,integrated sensing-communication system.A comprehensive dataset is a prerequisite for 6G integrated sensing-communication research.This paper develops a novel simulation dataset,named M3SC,for mixed multi-modal(MMM)sensing-communication integration,and the generation framework of the M3SC dataset is further given.To obtain multimodal sensory data in physical space and communication data in electromagnetic space,we utilize Air-Sim and WaveFarer to collect multi-modal sensory data and exploit Wireless InSite to collect communication data.Furthermore,the in-depth integration and precise alignment of AirSim,WaveFarer,andWireless InSite are achieved.The M3SC dataset covers various weather conditions,multiplex frequency bands,and different times of the day.Currently,the M3SC dataset contains 1500 snapshots,including 80 RGB images,160 depth maps,80 LiDAR point clouds,256 sets of mmWave waveforms with 8 radar point clouds,and 72 channel impulse response(CIR)matrices per snapshot,thus totaling 120,000 RGB images,240,000 depth maps,120,000 LiDAR point clouds,384,000 sets of mmWave waveforms with 12,000 radar point clouds,and 108,000 CIR matrices.The data processing result presents the multi-modal sensory information and communication channel statistical properties.Finally,the MMM sensing-communication application,which can be supported by the M3SC dataset,is discussed.Xiang Cheng Ziwei Huang Lu Bai Haotian Zhang Mingran Sun Boxun Liu Sijiang Li Jianan Zhang Minson Lee 2023China Communications2023,20,11:3
6Biofunctionalized composite scaffold to potentiate osteoconduction,angiogenesis,and favorable metabolic microenvironment for osteonecrosis therapy显示文摘Osteonecrosis is a common orthopedic disease in clinic,resulting in joint collapse if no appropriate treatment is performed in time.Core decompression is a general treatment modality for early osteonecrosis.However,effective bone regeneration in the necrotic area is still a significant challenge.This study developed a biofunctionalized composite scaffold(PLGA/nHA30VEGF)for osteonecrosis therapy through potentiation of osteoconduction,angiogenesis,and a favorable metabolic microenvironment.The composite scaffold had a porosity of 87.7%and compressive strength of 8.9 MPa.PLGA/nHA30VEGF had an average pore size of 227.6μm and a water contact angle of 56.5◦with a sustained release profile of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).After the implantation of PLGA/nHA30VEGF,various osteogenic and angiogenic biomarkers were upregulated by 2-9 fold compared with no treatment.Additionally,the metabolomic and lipidomic profiling studies demonstrated that PLGA/nHA30VEGF effectively regulated the multiple metabolites and more than 20 inordinate metabolic pathways in osteonecrosis.The excellent performances reveal that the biofunctionalized composite scaffold provides an advanced adjuvant therapy modality for osteonecrosis.Tongtong Zhu Mengyang Jiang Mingran Zhang Liguo Cui Xiaoyu Yang Xukai Wang Guangyao Liu Jianxun Ding Xuesi Chen 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,3:1

9Degradation behavior of ZE21C magnesium alloy suture anchors and their effect on ligament-bone junction repair显示文摘Current materials comprising suture anchors used to reconstruct ligament-bone junctions still have limitation in biocompatibility,degradability or mechanical properties.Magnesium alloys are potential bone implant materials,and Mg^(2+) has been shown to promote ligament-bone healing.Here,we used Mg-2 wt.%Zn-0.5 wt.%Y-1 wt.%Nd-0.5 wt.%Zr(ZE21C)alloy and Ti6Al4V(TC4)alloy to prepare suture anchors to reconstruct the patellar ligament-tibia in SD rats.We studied the degradation behavior of the ZE21C suture anchor via in vitro and in vivo experiments and assessed its reparative effect on the ligament-bone junction.In vitro,the ZE21C suture anchor degraded gradually,and calcium and phosphorus products accumulated on its surface during degradation.In vivo,the ZE21C suture anchor could maintain its mechanical integrity within 12 weeks of implantation in rats.The tail of the ZE21C suture anchor in high stress concentration degraded rapidly during the early implantation stage(0-4weeks),while bone healing accelerated the degradation of the anchor head in the late implantation stage(4-12weeks).Radiological,histological,and biomechanical assays indicated that the ZE21C suture anchor promoted bone healing above the suture anchor and fibrocartilaginous interface regeneration in the ligament-bone junction,leading to better biomechanical strength than the TC4 group.Hence,this study provides a basis for further research on the clinical application of degradable magnesium alloy suture anchors.Delin Ma Jun Wang Mingran Zheng Yuan Zhang Junfei Huang Wenxiang Li Yiwen Ding Yunhao Zhang Shijie Zhu Liguo Wang Xiaochao Wu Shaokang Guan 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,8:1

14Programmable microfluidics for dynamic multiband camouflage显示文摘Achieving multiband camouflage covering both visible and infrared regions is challenging due to the broad bandwidth and differentiated regulation demand in diverse regions.In this work,we propose a programmable microfluidic strategy that uses dye molecules in layered fluids to manipulate visible light-and infrared-semitransparent solvent to manipulate infrared light.With three primary fluid inputs,we achieve 64 chromaticity values and 8 emissivities from 0.42 to 0.90.In view of the wide tuning range,we demonstrate that the microfluidic flm can dynamically change its surface reflectance to blend into varying backgrounds in both visible and infrared images.Moreover,we fabricate the microfluidic device in a textile form and demonstrate its ability to match exactly with the colors of natural leaves of different seasons in the full hyperspectrum range.Considering the broadband modulation and ease of operation,the programmable microfluidic strategy provides a feasible approach for smart optical surfaces in long-span optical spectra.Chunzao Feng Mingran Mao Xiaohui Zhang Yutian Liao Xiaohui Xiao Huidong Liu Kang Liu 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,2:0
15A Neo-Confucian Criticism of Daoism:Wang Fuzhi's Contradictory Remarks on the Laozi显示文摘Based on Zhu Xi's statement that Laozi's teachings were very cruel,Wang Fuzhi condemned Laozi as a crafty,petty person in his Confucian commentaries.Yet,he had to understand the Laozi or Daodejing sympathetically when he commented on it in Laozi Yan老子衍(Extended Commentary on the Laozi).As a result,he showed inconsistency in his criticism and evaluation of the author.Some scholars have noted this problem but have not shed ink analyzing it.This essay finds that Wang Fuzhi's ambiguous attitude toward Laozi results from his Confucian prejudice against other schools and his failure to grasp the breadth and depth of Laozi's thought.From the perspective of Heaven,Laozi promoted accommodation and non-interference in self-cultivation and governance,summed up by the maxim that'the sage manages affairs without deliberation,and spreads teachings without words.'In contrast,Wang Fuzhi stuck to the distinction between Confucianism and Daoism,and tried to use humanity and ritual propriety to supplement that which Heaven does not provide;as such,he criticized Laozi as crafty and irresponsible.Wang Fuzhi's criticism neither hits the mark regarding Laozi's weakness nor maintains a concordance with his earlier sympathetic appraisal in Laozi Yan;the reason for this is that Wang Fuzhi could not fully grasp Laozi's thought from a Confucian and anthropocentric perspective.TAN Mingran 2020Frontiers of Philosophy in China2020,15,1:0

18Broadband light management in hydrogel glass for energy efficient windows显示文摘Windows are critically important components in building envelopes that have a signifcant efect on the integral energy budget.For energy saving,here we propose a novel design of hydrogel-glass which consists of a layer of hydrogel and a layer of normal glass.Compared with traditional glass,the hydrogel-glass possesses a higher level of visible light transmission,stronger near-infrared light blocking,and higher mid-infrared thermal emittance.With these properties,hydrogel-glass based windows can enhance indoor illumination and reduce the temperature,reducing energy use for both lighting and cooling.Energy savings ranging from 2.37 to 10.45 MJ/m2 per year can be achieved for typical school buildings located in diferent cities around the world according to our simulations.With broadband light management covering the visible and thermal infrared regions of the spectrum,hydrogel-glass shows great potential for application in energy-saving windows.Jia Fu Chunzao Feng Yutian Liao Mingran Mao Huidong Liu Kang Liu 2022Frontiers of Optoelectronics2022,15,3:0
