| 1 | Evaluation of water resources conserved by forests in the Hani rice terraces system of Honghe County,Yunnan,China:an application of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model显示文摘The Hani Rice Terraces System, based on gravity-flow irrigation, is one of the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems(GIAHS) pilot sites selected by FAO in 2010. The water resource plays an important role in the sustainable development of this system. The value of water conserved by the forest is influenced by natural, economic and social factors. In this paper, the water quality, per capita water resources, per capita GDP and population density are chosen as indices to construct an index system for a comprehensive evaluation of water resources value. The weights of these indices are 0.443, 0.31, 0.141 and 0.106 respectively, which are determined by the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) method. The water resources value has been assessed by the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. The results show that the water resources value in the Hani Rice Terraces System is 4.25 RMB/m^3. | 2 | Nicotine-induced upregulation of antioxidant protein Prx 1 in oral squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Nicotine is a source of exogenous oxidative stress, which is associated with the pathogenesis of numerous diseases including oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), whereas an antioxidant protein, peroxiredoxin 1 (Prx 1), plays an important role in the modulation of this condition. This study was to investigate the association between Prx 1 and tobacco-induced oxidative stress. The expression of Prx 1 and GST in OSCC Tca8113 cells, which were pre-treated with nicotine, was determined. In the present study, MTT assay, reactive oxygen species (ROS) assay, RT-PCR and Western blot analyses, respectively, were conducted to assess cell viability, ROS level, and expression level of Prx 1 and GST in nicotine-treated Tca8113 cells. Nuclear factor kappa B (NF- B) expression was detected by immuno-fluorescence. Our results showed the growth of Tca8113 cells was increased in a dose-dependent manner when cells were treated with nicotine at concentrations from 0.1 to 10 mol/L, but the proliferation of the cells decreased at 100 mol/L. ROS levels increased in all groups treated with nicotine at concentrations of 0.1, 1, 10, or 100 mol/L for 24h. Prx 1 and GST mRNA and protein expression were up-regulated in cells treated with nicotine for the same time at different concentrations or at the same concentration for different times (P<0.05). NF-B was translocated from cytoplasm to nucleus, the expression of NF- B was increased in nucleus. | 3 | Handheld high-throughput plasmonic biosensor using computational on-chip imaging显示文摘We demonstrate a handheld on-chip biosensing technology that employs plasmonic microarrays coupled with a lens-free computational imaging system towards multiplexed and high-throughput screening of biomolecular interactions for point-of-care applications and resource-limited settings.This lightweight and field-portable biosensing device,weighing 60 g and 7.5 cm tall,utilizes a compact optoelectronic sensor array to record the diffraction patterns of plasmonic nanostructures under uniform illumination by a single-light emitting diode tuned to the plasmonic mode of the nanoapertures.Employing a sensitive plasmonic array design that is combined with lens-free computational imaging,we demonstrate label-free and quantitative detection of biomolecules with a protein layer thickness down to 3 nm.Integrating large-scale plasmonic microarrays,our on-chip imaging platform enables simultaneous detection of protein mono-and bilayers on the same platform over a wide range of biomolecule concentrations.In this handheld device,we also employ an iterative phase retrieval-based image reconstruction method,which offers the ability to digitally image a highly multiplexed array of sensors on the same plasmonic chip,making this approach especially suitable for high-throughput diagnostic applications in field settings. | Arif E Cetin Ahmet F Coskun Betty C Galarreta Min Huang David Herman Aydogan Ozcan Hatice Altug | 2014 | Light(Science & Applications)2014，3，1： | 6 |

| 5 | Environmental and Psycho-social Factors Related to Prostate Cancer Risk in the Chinese Population:a Case-control Study显示文摘Objective To study the risk environmental and psycho-social factors associated to prostate cancer(PCa) in Chinese population. Methods 250 PCa patients and 500 controls were enrolled in this case-control study. Information was collected and logistic regression analysis was used to estimate the odds ratios(OR) and 95% confidence intervals(95% CI) for relationship between lifestyle, eating habits and psycho-social factors with PCa risk. Results Green vegetables and green tea were associated with a decreased risk of PCa(OR=0.39, 95% CI: 0.28-0.53; OR=0.59, 95% CI: 0.40-0.87, respectively). Family history of PCa(OR=7.16, 95% CI: 2.01-25.49), history of prostate diseases(OR=2.28, 95% CI: 1.53-3.41), alcohol consumption(OR=1.97, 95% CI: 1.33-2.90), red meat consumption(OR=1.74, 95% CI: 1.20-2.52), barbecued(OR=2.29, 95% CI: 1.11-4.73) or fried(OR=2.35, 95% CI: 1.24-4.43) foods were related with increased PCa risk. Negative psycho-social factors including occupational setbacks(OR=1.61, 95% CI: 1.00-2.59), marital separation(OR=1.94, 95% CI: 1.29-2.91), self-contained suffering(OR=2.37, 95% CI: 1.58-3.55), and high sensitivity to the personal comments(OR=1.73, 95% CI: 1.18-2.54) were related to PCa. Conclusion Regular consumption of green vegetables and green tea may suggest protective effects on PCa. Alcohol consumption, red meat consumption and barbecued or fried foods were associated with PCa. | 7 | Adult metaplastic hutch diverticulum with robotic-assisted diverticulectomy and reconstruction:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Hutch diverticulum arises from the compromised muscular development at the ureteral orifice.It is a congenital disease and extremely rare in adult,only accounting for about 3%occurrence worldwide.It can be either symptomatic or asymptomatic,and relies on image tools for diagnosis and preoperative planning.Indications for surgery are dependent on the complications from the diverticulum.Metaplasia is about 10%among those with hutch diverticulum,and it still has chances turning into malignancy,especially urothelial cell carcinoma.CASE SUMMARY A 27-year-old man was presented with frequently recurrent urinary tract infection for one year,and had suffered from intermittent right flank pain for 3 mo.No past medical histories were recorded before.No obvious abnormalities on laboratory data and urine examination were found.Under ultrasound,right hydronephrosis was seen and an anatomical abnormality was observed on intravenous pyelography.Further computed tomography urogram showed one diverticulum seated at superolateral side of right ureteral orifice.Cystoscopy was done and biopsy results showed focal metaplasia.After discussing with him,roboticassisted diverticulectomy with reconstruction was performed.Right hydronephrosis was greatly improved after surgery.He has completed his 1.5-year follow-ups,and no malignancies were seen from urine cytology and image of intravenous pyelography.CONCLUSION Robotic-assisted diverticulectomy and reconstruction to hutch diverticulum is a safe and efficient operation,providing several advantages over open and laparoscopic ones. | Che H Yang Yi S Lin Yen C Ou Wei C Weng Li H Huang Chin H Lu Chao Y Hsu Min C Tung | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2020，8，20： | 2 |
| 8 | What is the most cost-effective strategy to screen for second primary colorectal cancers in male cancer survivors in Korea?显示文摘AIM:To identify a cost-effective strategy of second primary colorectal cancer (CRC) screening for cancer survivors in Korea using a decision-analytic model.METHODS: A Markov model estimated the clinical and economic consequences of a simulated 50-year-old male cancer survivors' cohort, and we compared the results of eight screening strategies: no screening, fecal occult blood test (FOBT) annually, FOBT every 2 years, sigmoidoscopy every 5 years, double contrast barium enema every 5 years, and colonoscopy every 10 years (COL10), every 5 years (COL5), and every 3 years (COL3). We included only direct medical costs, and our main outcome measures were discounted lifetime costs, life expectancy, and incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER).RESULTS: In the base-case analysis, the non-dominated strategies in cancer survivors were COL5, and COL3. The ICER for COL3 in cancer survivors was $5593/life-year saved (LYS), and did not exceed $10000/LYS in one-way sensitivity analyses. If the risk of CRC in can- cer survivors is at least two times higher than that in the general population, COL5 had an ICER of less than $10500/LYS among both good and poor prognosis of index cancer.
