| 2 | Identification of Antifungal Substance (Iturin A_2) Produced by Bacillus subtilis B47 and Its Effect on Southern Corn Leaf Blight显示文摘Bacillus subtilis B47 is an endophytic bacterium of tomato, and produces substance that strongly inhibits the growth of Bipolaris maydis, the pathogen of southern corn leaf blight (SCLB), as well as several other phytopathogenic fungi. The antifungal substance was purified from the broth culture of the bacterium using acid precipitation, methanol extraction, and three-step chromatography. Based on FT-IR spectrometry, amino acid composition, and MALDI-TOF-MS/MS CID analyses, the antifungal substance was identified as iturin A2, a cyclic lipopeptide antibiotic. To evaluate the efficacy of iturin A2 for control of SCLB, partially purified iturin A2 (75%, w/v) was applied under different conditions. At the concentration of 300 mg kg-1, iturin A2 showed efficacy ranging from 100 to 53.1% under in vitro, in plot and in field conditions. This efficacy was higher than or similar to that of the fungicide chlorothalonil. When the concentration of iturin A2 was increased to 500 mg kg-1, the control efficacy was enhanced to 64.2% in field, which was significantly higher than that of chlorothalonil. These results indicate that iturin A2 has potential for SCLB control and could be a substitute to synthetic fungicides. | 7 | Effects of acid deposition on terrestrial ecosystems and their rehabilitation strategies in China显示文摘South China has become the third largest region associated with acid deposition following Europe and North America, the area subject to damage by acid deposition increased from 1.75 million km 2 in 1985 to 2.8 million km 2 in 1993. Acid deposition has caused serious damage to ecosystem. Combined pollution of acid rain and SO 2 showed the obvious multiple effects on crops. Vegetable was more sensitive to acid deposition than foodstuff crops. Annual economic loss of crops due to acid deposition damage in eleven provinces of south China was 4.26 billion RMB Yuan. Acid deposition caused serious damage to forest. Annual economic loss of wood volume was about 1.8 billion RMB Yuan and forest ecological benefit loss 16.2 billion in eleven provinces of south China. Acid deposition in south China was typical “sulfuric acid type”. | 12 | Outcomes of CAG Regimen for Refractory Biphenotypic Acute Leukemia Patients显示文摘Objective To evaluated the efficiency of low-dose cytosine arabinoside plus aclarubicin with concurrent administration of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (CAG) regimen for refractory biphenotypic acute leukemia (BAL). Methods We treated 5 refractory BAL patients by CAG regimen (10 mg·m-2 cytosine arabinoside subcutaneously administrated every 12 hours, day 1-14; 5-7 mg·m-2 aclarubicin intravenously administrated daily, day 1-8; and concurrently used 200μg·m-2·d-1 granulocyte colony-stimulating factor subcutaneously) from November 2002 to April 2007. The efficacy of the regimen was evaluated by response rate, and the side effects were also measured. Results The complete remission rate was 80%, median duration of absolute neutrophil count< 5.0×108/L and platelet count<2.0×1010/L was day 13 and day 1, respectively; and the infection rate was low (Ⅲ-Ⅳ infection rate, 20.00%). | 15 | Urban Green Space Planning Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics Model and Landscape Ecology Principle:A Case Study of Liaoyang City,Northeast China显示文摘As a result of environmental degradation,urban green space has become a key issue for urban sustainable development.This paper takes Liaoyang City in Northeast China as an example to develop green space planning using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model,landscape ecological principles and Geographical Information System (GIS).Based on the influencing factors of topography,building density and orientation,Shou Mountain,Longding Mountain and the Taizi River were selected as the urban ventilation paths to promote wind and oxygen circulation.Oxygen concentration around the green spaces gradually decreased with wind speed increase and wind direction change.There were obvious negative correlation relationships between the oxygen dispersion concentration and urban layout factors such as the building plot ratio and building density.Comparison with the field measurements found that there was significant correlation relationship between simulated oxygen concentration and field measurements (R 2=0.6415,p<0.001),moreover,simulation precision was higher than 92%,which indicated CFD model was effective for urban oxygen concentration simulation.Only less than 10% areas in Liaoyang City proper needed more green space urgently to improve oxygen concentration,mainly concentrated in Baitai and west Wensheng districts.Based on land-scape ecology principle,green space planning at different spatial scales were proposed to create a green space network system for Liaoyang City,including features such as green wedges,green belts and parks.Totally,about 2012 ha of green space need to be constructed as oxygen sources and ventilation paths.Compared with the current green space pattern,proposed green space planning could improve oxygen concentration obviously.The CFD model and research results in this paper could provide an effective way and theory support for sustainable development of urban green space. | ZHOU Yuan SHI Tiemao HU Yuanman GAO Chang LIU Miao FU Shilei WANG Shizhe | 2011 | Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,4: | 9 |
| 16 | Six-long non-coding RNA signature predicts recurrence-free survival in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND Recent evidence shows that long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) are closely related to hepatogenesis and a few aggressive features of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Increasing studies demonstrate that lncRNAs are potential prognostic factors for HCC. Moreover, several studies reported the combination of lncRNAs for predicting the overall survival(OS) of HCC, but the results varied. Thus,more effort including more accurate statistical approaches is needed for exploring the prognostic value of lncRNAs in HCC.AIM To develop a robust lncRNA signature associated with HCC recurrence to improve prognosis prediction of HCC.METHODS Univariate COX regression analysis was performed to screen the lncRNAs significantly associated with recurrence-free survival(RFS) of HCC in GSE76427 for the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO) modelling. The established lncRNA signature was validated and developed in The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) series using Kaplan-Meier curves. The expression values of the identified lncRNAs were compared between the tumor and non-tumor tissues. Pathway enrichment of these lncRNAs was conducted based on the significantly co-expressed genes. A prognostic nomogram combining the lncRNA signature and clinical characteristics was constructed.RESULTS The lncRNA signature consisted of six lncRNAs: MSC-AS1, POLR2 J4, EIF3 J-AS1,SERHL, RMST, and PVT1. This risk model was significantly associated with the RFS of HCC in the TCGA cohort with a hazard ratio(HR) being 1.807(95%CI[confidence interval]: 1.329-2.457) and log-rank P-value being less than 0.001. The best candidates of the six-lncRNA signature were younger male patients with HBV infection in relatively early tumor-stage and better physical condition but with higher preoperative alpha-fetoprotein. All the lncRNAs were significantly upregulated in tumor samples compared to non-tumor samples(P < 0.05). | 19 | Pulsed radiofrequency inhibits expression of P2X3 receptors and alleviates neuropathic pain induced by chronic constriction injury in rats显示文摘Background:Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) is a minimally invasive interventional technique that provides a novel and effective treatment strategy for neuropathic pain (NP).PRF is advantageous because it does not damage nerves and avoids sensory loss after treatment.At present,animal studies have demonstrated that PRF is safe and effective for relieving the NP associated with sciatic nerve damage in rats with chronic constriction injury (CCI).However,the mechanism through which this effect occurs is unknown.An increasing body of evidence shows that the expression of the P2X ligand-gated ion channel 3 (P2X3) receptor is closely related to NP;this study was to investigate whether the expression of this receptor is involved in NP relief due to PRF.Methods:A total of 36 healthy adult male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into three groups:Sham group,CCI group,and PRF group.The right sciatic nerve was ligated in CCI group and PRF group to establish a CCI model;the right sciatic nerve was separated but not ligated in Sham group.On day 14 after the operation,PRF was administered to the ligated sciatic nerve in PRF group (42℃,45 V,2 min).A non-live electrode was placed at the exposed sciatic nerve for the rats in Sham and CCI groups.The hindpaw withdrawal threshold (HWT) and thermal withdrawal latency (TWL) were measured at the right hindpaw at different time points before and after PRF or sham therapy.On day 28 after treatment,the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and spinal dorsal horn of the right L4-6 were harvested from each group to determine the mRNA and protein levels of the P2X3 receptor.Results:On day 28 after PRF treatment,the HWT (8.33 ± 0.67 g vs.3.62 ± 0.48 g) and TWL (25.42 ± 1.90 s vs.15.10 ± 1.71 s) were significantly higher in PRF group as compared to CCI group (P < 0.05).The mRNA expression of the P2X3 receptor in the DRG in PRF group was 23.7% lower than that in CCI group (P < 0.05),in the spinal dorsal horns in PRF group was 22.7% lower than that in CCI group (P < 0.05).The protein expression of the P2X3 receptor in the DRG in PRF group was 27.8 % lower than that in CCI group (P < 0.05),in the spinal dorsal horns in PRF group was 35.6% lower than that in CCI group (P < 0.05).Conclusion:PRF possibly reduces NP in CCI rats by inhibiting the expression of the P2X3 receptor in the L4-6 DRG and spinal dorsal horns. | Miao Fu Lan Meng Hao Ren Fang Luo | 2019 | Chinese Medical Journal2019,,14: | 8 |
| 20 | Shear strength of frozen clay under freezing-thawing cycles using triaxial tests显示文摘Using a new low-temperature dynamic triaxial apparatus, the influence law of freezing-thawing cycles on clay shear strength is studied. In this research, the concept of correction coefficients of freezing-thawing cycles on clay static strength, cohesion and internal friction angles is proposed, and the change patterns, correction curves and regressive formulae of clay static strength, cohesion and internal friction angles under freezing-thawing cycles are given. The test results indicate that with increasing numbers of freezing-thawing cycles, the clay static strength and cohesion decrease exponentially but the internal friction angle increases exponentially. The performance of static strength, cohesion and internal friction angles are different with increasing numbers of freezing-thawing cycles, i.e., the static strength decreases constantly until about 30% of the initial static strength prior to the freezing-thawing cycling and then stays basically stable. After 5-7 freezing-thawing cycles, the cohesion decreases gradually to about 70% of the initial cohesion. The internal friction angle increases about 20% after the first freezing-thawing cycle, then increases gradually close to a stable value which is an increase of about 40% of the internal friction angle.
