| 1 | GPS-constrained inversion of present-day slip rates along major faults of the Sichuan-Yunnan region, China显示文摘A linked-fault-element model is employed to invert for contemporary slip rates along major active faults in the Sichuan-Yunnan region (96°-108°E, 21°-35°N) using the least squares method. The model is based on known fault geometry, and constrained by a GPS-derived horizontal velocity field. Our results support a model attributing the eastward extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau driven mainly by the north-northeastward indentation of the Indian plate into Tibet and the gravitational collapse of the plateau. Resisted by a relatively stable south China block, materials of the Sichuan-Yunnan region rotate clockwise around the eastern Himalayan tectonic syntaxis. During the process the Garzê-Yushu, Xianshuihe, Anninghe, Zemuhe, Daliangshan, and Xiaojiang faults, the southwest extension of the Xiaojiang fault, and the Daluo-Jinghong and Mae Chan faults constitute the northeast and east boundaries of the eastward extrusion, with their left slip rates being 0.3-14.7, 8.9-17.1, 5.1 ± 2.5, 2.8 ± 2.3, 7.1 ± 2.1, 9.4 ± 1.2, 10.1 ± 2.0, 7.3 ± 2.6, and 4.9 ± 3.0 mm/a respectively. The southwestern boundary consists of a widely distributed dextral transpressional zone other than a single fault. Right slip rates of 4.2 ± 1.3, 4.3 ± 1.1, and 8.5 ± 1.7 mm/a are detected across the Nanhua-Chuxiong-Jianshui, Wuliangshan, and Longling-Lancang faults. Crustal deformation across the Longmenshan fault is weak, with short-ening rates of 1.4 ± 1.0 and 1.6 ± 1.3 mm/a across the Baoxing-Beichuan and Beichuan-Qingchuan segments. Northwest of the Longmenshan fault lies an active deformation zone (the Longriba fault) with 5.1±1.2 mm/a right slip across. Relatively large slip rates are detected across a few faults within the Sichuan-Yunnan block: 4.4±1.3 mm/a left slip and 2.7±1.1 mm/a shortening across the Litang fault, and 2.7±2.3 mm/a right-lateral shearing and 6.7±2.3 mm/a shortening across the Yunongxi fault and its surrounding regions. In conclusion, we find that the Sichuan-Yunnan region is divided into more than a dozen active micro-blocks by a large number of faults with relatively slow slip rates. | 2 | Permian volcanisms in eastern and southeastern margins of the Jiamusi Massif, northeastern China: zircon U-Pb chronology, geochemistry and its tectonic implications显示文摘LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating and geochemical data for the Late Paleozoic volcanic rocks from eastern and southeastern margins of the Jiamusi Massif are presented to understand the regional tectonic evolution. Zircons from eight representative volcanic rocks are euhedral-subhedral in shape and dis- play striped absorption and fine-scale oscillatory growth zoning as well as high Th/U ratios (0.33―2.37), implying a magmatic origin. The dating results show that the Late Paleozoic volcanic rocks in the study area can be divided into two stages, i.e., the Early Permian (a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 288 Ma) and the Middle Permian volcanisms (a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 268 Ma). The former is com- posed mainly of basalt, basaltic-andesite, andesite and minor dacite. They are characterized by low SiO2 contents, high Mg# (0.40―0.59), enrichment in Na (Na2O/K2O = 1.26―4.25) and light rare earth elements (LREEs), relative depletion in heavy rare earth elements (HREEs) and high field strength ele- ments (HFSEs), indicating that an active continental margin setting could exist in the eastern margin of the Jiamusi Massif in the Early Permian. The latter consists mainly of rhyolite and minor dacite with high SiO2 (77.23%―77.52%), low MgO (0.11%―0.14%), enrichment in K2O (Na2O/K2O ratios < 0.80) and Rb, Th, U and depletion in Eu, Sr, P and Ti, implying a crust-derived origin. | 6 | Building Osteogenic Microenvironments with a Double-Network Composite Hydrogel for Bone Repair显示文摘The critical factor determining the in vivo effect of bone repair materials is the microenvironment,which greatly depends on their abilities to promote vascularization and bone formation.However,implant materials are far from ideal candidates for guiding bone regeneration due to their deficient angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments.Herein,a double-network composite hydrogel combining vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mimetic peptide with hydroxyapatite(HA)precursor was developed to build an osteogenic microenvironment for bone repair.The hydrogel was prepared by mixing acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins and octacalcium phosphate(OCP),an HA precursor,with gelatin solution,followed by ultraviolet photo-crosslinking.To improve the angiogenic potential of the hydrogel,QK,a VEGF-mimicking peptide,was loaded in acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins.The QK-loaded hydrogel promoted tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and upregulated the expression of angiogenesis-related genes,such as Flt1,Kdr,and VEGF,in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Moreover,QK could recruit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Furthermore,OCP in the composite hydrogel could be transformed into HA and release calcium ions facilitating bone regeneration.The double-network composite hydrogel integrated QK and OCP showed obvious osteoinductive activity.The results of animal experiments showed that the composite hydrogel enhanced bone regeneration in skull defects of rats,due to perfect synergistic effects of QK and OCP on vascularized bone regeneration.In summary,improving the angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments by our double-network composite hydrogel shows promising prospects for bone repair. | Jiaying Li Jinjin Ma Qian Feng En Xie Qingchen Meng Wenmiao Shu Junxi Wu Liming Bian Fengxuan Han Bin Li | 2023 | Research2023,,3: | 3 |

The zircons from the high-Mg diorite exhibit striped absorption and oscillatory growth zoning in the cathodoluminescence( CL) images,and have high Th/U ratios( 0. 05--0. 9),indicating a magma origin. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating indicates that206 Pb /238 U ages of 12 spots of zircons are between 167 Ma and 178 Ma,yielding a weighted mean206 Pb /238 U age of 172 ± 2 Ma( MSWD = 4. 1),which represents the forming age of the high-Mg dioritic dike,i. e. Middle Jurassic. Geochemically,the samples have SiO2= 55. 4--60. 6 wt. %,Na2 O = 2. 2--2. 76 wt. %,K2 O = 1. 32--2. 02 wt. % and( Na2 O + K2O) = 3. 82--4. 47 wt. %,belonging to sub-alkaline series and displaying a calc-alkaline evolutionary trend. They are characterized by high MgO( 4. 75--6. 85 wt. %),Mg#( 55--61),Cr( 130--262 ppm),Ni( 63--130 ppm),Sr( 568--857 ppm),and Ba( 484--1 130 ppm) contents,with geochemical features analogous to those of high-Mg adakites. They show variable εNd( t) values(-1. 3 to- 3. 9),with a weighted value of- 2. 7,which plot intermediately between the field of the ancient continental crust and the depleted mantle source,indicating that both the lower crust and mantle source are necessary for the generation of the parent magma of the Haicheng high-Mg diorites. | 15 | Definition of the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Since the Quaternary, many lakes have been present in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. As peculiar geological processes in the evolution of the uplifting of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the distributions and evolutions of the Quaternary paleolakes in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau have been the focus of interest among the international geosciences circle. Comparisons of the newly obtained and existing data from field surveys, remote sensing images, characteristics of tectonic landforms and distribution of the lacustrine strata, the author have, for the first time, defined a large-sized Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake. The paleolake starts from the east-westerly direction at Rutog in western Tibet, passing through Gêrzê, and finally ends at Nagqu in eastern Tibet. Its length is approximately 1,200 km; it is about 420 km at its widest point (north-southerly). The Paleolake forms an E-W (or NWW) ellipsoid with an estimated area of 354920 km2 . The Paleolake is bordered by the Mts. Gangdisê and Nyainqêntanglha to the south and the Karakorum Pass-Tozê Kangri-Zangbagangri-Tanggula Pass to the north. It generally appears as a basinal landform with low mountains and valleys in the central part (altitudes of 4400 m) and higher altitudes (5000 m) in the peripheries. The formation and development of the Paleolake was controlled by the nearly E-W trending structures. There are three east-westerly extending tectonic sutures inside the Paleolake area, from north to south: (1) the Shuanghu Suture; (2) the Bangong Co-Nujiang River Suture; (3) the Shiquanhe-Lhari Suture. These three sutures have generally controlled the spreading features of the Paleolake and act as the first grade lake-controlling structures. In the southern Paleolake basin, there are a series of south-northerly rift basins, which are controlled by the normal faults and exist as a series of south-northerly grabens and semi-graben faulted basins. The south-northerly rift zones have clearly exerted control over the south margin of the Paleolake as well as the distribution of the residual lake basins after the Paleolake's break up. They are the secondary lake-controlling tectonics. Discoveries of the lacustrine strata inside the Plateau, especially the successive discoveries of many high-stand lacustrine strata, are direct evidence supporting the existence of the paleolakes in the Plateau. The dating results of the lake-eroded travertine in the Dong Co in the hinterland of the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake have revealed that the lake-eroded travertine is of Late Pleistocene sediments. By considering the analysis of the lacustrine strata as well, the researchers have revealed that the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake begins its embryonic form in the Early Pleistocene, successively develops till the Middle Pleistocene, and reaches its full blossom in the middle stage of the Late Pleistocene; it further shrinks and separates by the end of the Late Pleistocene, and finally ceases its whole life as the paleolake. After the Holocene, the huge Late Pleistocene Qiangtang Paleolake no longer exists, leaving a series of widely distributed smaller lakes on the Qiangtang Plateau. | 16 | Response of the xenograft endothelium in the concordant xenotransplantation显示文摘Objective: To investigate the response of the xenograft endothelium in the concordant hamster to rat cardiac xenotransplantation and the mechanism of acute vascular rejection. Methods: The animals were divided into 5 groups randomly: control group, CsA group, splenectomy group, D0 splenectomy+CsA group and D3 splenectomy+CsA group. Hamster heart was heterotopicaly transplanted to rat abdominal cavity. The graft survival was monitored by palpation of the rat abdominal wall. The histological and ultrastructural changes of the xenogafts were investigated. NF-κB and P-selectin expression in the xenograft were detected. Heme Oxigenase-1 and Bcl-2 expression were also detected in the xenografts of different groups. Results: The mean survival time of the xenografts in control group,CsA group, splenectomy group, D0 splenectomy+CsA group and D3 splenectomy+CsA group was 3.4 ± 0.55, 3.8 ± 0.45, 6.4 ± 1.52, 30 and 7.4 ± 1.14 days. The rejected graft showed typical acute vascular rejection in control group, CsA group,splenectomy group and D3 splenectomy+CsA group. Endothelial cells of the rejected xenograft showed dramatic assembly of ribosomes and expansion of the rough endoplasmic reticulum. However, the endothelium of the long-term survived grafts in D0 splenectomy+CsA group showed normal architecture. NF-κB and P-selectin expression were detected in the rejected xenografts. HO-1 expression was observed in the long-term survived xenografts in D0 splenectomy+CsA group. Conclusion: The endothelial cells of the xenograft might be activated during the acute vascular rejection. | 20 | No effect of exogenous melatonin on development of cryopreserved metaphase Ⅱ oocytes in mouse显示文摘Background:This study was conducted to investigate effect of exogenous melatonin on the development of mouse mature oocytes after cryopreservation.Results:First,mouse metaphase Ⅱ(MII) oocytes were vitrified in the open-pulled straws(OPS).After warming,they were cultured for 1 h in M_2 medium containing melatonin at different concentrations(0,10^(-9),10^(-7),10^(-5),10^(-3)mol/L).Then the oocytes were used to detect reactive oxygen species(ROS) and glutathione(GSH) levels(fluorescence microscopy),and the developmental potential after parthenogenetic activation.The experimental results showed that the ROS level and cleavage rate in 10^(-3) mol/L melatonin group was significantly lower than that in melatonin-free group(control).The GSH levels and blastocyst rates in all melatonin-treated groups were similar to that in control.Based on the above results,we detected the expression of gene Hsp90aa1,Hsf1,Hspa1 b,Nrf2 and Bcl-x1 with qRT-PCR in oocytes treated with 10^(-7),or 10^(-3) mol/L melatonin and untreated control.After warming and culture for 1 h,the oocytes showed higher Hsp90aa1 expression in 10^(-7) mol/L melatonin-treated group than in the control(P<0.05);the Hsf1,Hsp90aa1 and Bcl-x1 expression were significantly decreased in 10^(-3) mol/L melatonin-treated group when compared to the control.Based on the above results and previous research,we detected the development of vitrified-warmed oocytes treated with either 10^(-7) or 0 mol/L melatonin by in vitro fertilization.No difference was observed between them.Conclusions:Our results indicate that the supplementation of melatonin(10^(-9) to 10^(-3) mol/L) in culture medium and incubation for 1 h did not improve the subsequent developmental potential of vitrified-warmed mouse MII oocytes,even if there were alteration in gene expression. | Wei Li Keren Cheng Yue Zhang Qinggang Meng Shi'en Zhu Guangbin Zhou | 2015 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,4: | 0 |
