1Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt in cirrhosis: An exhaustive critical update显示文摘More than five decades after it was originally conceptualized as rescue therapy for patients with intractable variceal bleeding,the transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)procedure continues to remain a focus of intense clinical and biomedical research.By the impressive reduction in portal pressure achieved by this intervention,coupled with its minimally invasive nature,TIPS has gained increasing acceptance in the treatment of complications of portal hypertension.The early years of TIPS were plagued by poor long-term patency of the stents and increased incidence of hepatic encephalopathy.Moreover,the diversion of portal flow after placement of TIPS often resulted in derangement of hepatic functions,which was occasionally severe.While the incidence of shunt dysfunction has markedly reduced with the advent of covered stents,hepatic encephalopathy and instances of early liver failure continue to remain a significant issue after TIPS.It has emerged over the years that careful selection of patients and diligent post-procedural care is of paramount importance to optimize the outcome after TIPS.The past twenty years have seen multiple studies redefining the role of TIPS in the management of variceal bleeding and refractory ascites while exploring its application in other complications of cirrhosis like hepatic hydrothorax,portal hypertensive gastropathy,ectopic varices,hepatorenal and hepatopulmonary syndromes,non-tumoral portal vein thrombosis and chylous ascites.It has also been utilized to good effect before extrahepatic abdominal surgery to reduce perioperative morbidity and mortality.The current article aims to review the updated literature on the status of TIPS in the management of patients with liver cirrhosis.Sasidharan Rajesh Tom George Cyriac Abby Philips Rizwan Ahamed Sandeep Kumbar Narain Mohan Meera Mohanan Philip Augustine 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,37:26
2Nonsurgical periodontal-therapy improves glycosylated hemoglobin levels in pre-diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis显示文摘AIM To evaluate the effect of nonsurgical periodontal therapy on glycosylated haemoglobin levels in pre-diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis(CHP).METHODS Sixty pre-diabetic patients with CHP were selected and equally allocated to case and control group. All subjects were evaluated at base line for periodontal parameters(plaque index, oral hygiene index, modified gingival index, probing pocket depth, clinical attachment level) and systemic parameters [glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c), fasting lipid profile, and fasting blood glucose]. The case group received non-surgical periodontal therapy. Subjects were re-evaluated for periodontal and systemic parameters after three months.RESULTS Both groups were comparable at baseline. Three months after non surgical periodontal therapy(NSPT), there was significant improvement in periodontal parameters in case group. The mean difference in systemic parameters like HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose from baseline to fourth month for case group was 0.22 ± 0.11 and 3.90 ± 8.48 respectively and control group was-0.056 ± 0.10 and-1.66 ± 6.04 respectively, which was significant between case and control group(P < 0.05). In the case group there was a significant decrease in HbA1c from baseline to three months following NSPT(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION This study showed that periodontal inflammation could affect the glycemic control in otherwise systemically healthy individuals. 4小反刍兽疫病毒H蛋白抗体化学发光免疫分析检测方法的建立显示文摘本研究旨在建立小反刍兽疫病毒H蛋白抗体的化学发光免疫分析检测方法。以H蛋白4个反应原性较好的B细胞表位串联后为检测抗原,在确定抗原包被量和血清稀释度,优化血清和酶标二抗反应时间的基础上,用ROC曲线分析确定检测临界值,建立了小反刍兽疫病毒H蛋白抗体化学发光免疫分析检测方法,然后对该方法进行敏感性、特异性和重复性评价。结果显示,建立的小反刍兽疫病毒H蛋白抗体化学发光免疫分析检测方法最佳抗原包被浓度为1.5×10^(-6)μg/孔,待检血清最佳稀释度为1∶100;血清及酶标二抗孵育时间均为10 min,检测方法的临界值为S/P=9.77%,批内及批间变异系数均小于10%;与口蹄疫、羊痘、蓝舌病及山羊传染性胸膜肺炎阳性血清不发生交叉反应;用建立的化学发光法和市售小反刍兽疫抗体cELISA试剂盒平行检测247份田间血清,两者相对符合率为94.33%,但化学发光法敏感性更高。研究结果表明,建立的小反刍兽疫病毒H蛋白抗体化学发光免疫分析方法灵敏、特异、稳定,可用于田间血清样品小反刍兽疫抗体检测。钱榜 刘振东 赵印 李静 PRAJAPATI Meera 李彦敏 孙跃峰 窦永喜 2023生物技术通报2023,39,5:4
5Reverse Genetics for Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus: Current Status and Lessons to Learn from Other Non-segmented Negative-Sense RNA Viruses显示文摘Peste des petits ruminants(PPR) is a highly contagious transboundary animal disease with a severe socio-economic impact on the livestock industry, particularly in poor countries where it is endemic. Full understanding of PPR virus(PPRV)pathobiology and molecular biology is critical for effective control and eradication of the disease. To achieve these goals,establishment of stable reverse genetics systems for PPRV would play a key role. Unfortunately, this powerful technology remains less accessible and poorly documented for PPRV. In this review, we discussed the current status of PPRV reverse genetics as well as the recent innovations and advances in the reverse genetics of other non-segmented negative-sense RNA viruses that could be applicable to PPRV. 7Effects of Exogenous VEGF_(165)b on Invasion and Migration of Human Lung Adenocarcinoma A549 Cells显示文摘Vascular endothelial growth factor 165 (VEGF165)-mediated autocrine stimulation of tumor cells enhances the progression to a malignant phenotype. VEGF165b competes with VEGF165 and binds to vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), resulting in inhibition of downstream signal transduction pathways. This study was designed to investigate the role of VEGF165b in the migration and invasion of human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells. The full-length of VEGF165b was constructed and cloned into an expression plasmid (pVEGF165b), and then transfected into A549 cells. Dimethylthiazolyl-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to detect the effect of VEGF165b on proliferation of transfected cells. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was employed to examine the effect of VEGF165b on the expression of VEGF165 in transfected cells. Wound-healing assays were used to investigate the effect of VEGF165b on migration of transfected cells. Matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) activity assay and in vitro invasion assay were used to determine the role of VEGF165b in invasion of transfected cells. There was no significant change in proliferation of A549 cells after transfection of pVEGF165b, but the expression of VEGF165, migration and invasion in A549 cells were inhibited. Furthermore, exogenous VEGF165b inhibited the activity of MMP9 in the supernatant of A549 cells and the subsequent invasion capacity of those cells. 9Gallbladder adenocarcinoma and paraneoplastic parathyroid hormone mediated hypercalcemia显示文摘Parathyroid hormone mediated hypercalcemia is not always exclusively primary hyperparathyroidism and rarely could be due to ectopic parathyroid hormone secretion from tumor cells.We present a case of 86-yearold female with metastatic gall bladder adenocarcinoma diagnosed eight months back who presented with generalized fatigue and poor oral intake and was found to be hypercalcemic with elevated parathyroid hormone levels.Imaging with technetium 99 m sestamibi scintigraphy with dual phase,subtraction thyroid scan(dual isotope scintigraphy),magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasonography did not demonstrate any parathyroid lesion in normal or ectopic sites.We believe that the tumor cells were the source of ectopic parathyroid hormone secretion as we had excluded all the other possibilities with extensive combined imaging thereby increasing the sensitivity of our testing.We report the first case of metastatic gall bladder adenocarcinoma with paraneoplastic ectopic parathyroid hormone secretion.Meera Yogarajah Bhradeev Sivasambu Zewge Shiferaw-Deribe 2016World Journal of Clinical Oncology2016,7,2:2
10炭化米糠经臭氧活化制备活性炭及其去除Cr(Ⅵ)离子显示文摘以臭氧为活化剂,炭化的米糠为原料制备出活性炭。采用氮吸附、SEM-EDAX和FT-IR对样品进行表征。活性炭的比表面积由活化前的20 m2/g增加到380 m2/g。在臭氧活化过程中,吸附在炭材料上的二氧化硅变疏松,从而导致碳逸出。臭氧同时以氧分子和原子形式存在于炭表面。氧原子,作为强氧化剂,将炭表面氧化成酸性官能团如羧基、酮基和酚基。采用该活性炭吸附Cr(VI)离子,Cr(VI)离子的最大去除率(94%)的条件为:p H值2.0、浓度100 mg/L、吸附量0.2 g,时间2.5 h及转速300 r/min。采用吸附平衡和动力学模型探讨吸附机理,结果表明,吸附等温线符合Freundlich方程,吸附速率符合准二级动力学方程。吸附是自发的放热反应,可能与Na OH脱落而恢复Cr和碳有关。Sivaraju Sugashini Kadhar Mohamed Meera Sheriffa Begum 2015新型炭材料2015,30,3:2
