| 1 | Possible role of power-to-heat and power-to-gas as flexibleloads in German medium voltage networks显示文摘Germany's energy transition triggered a rapidand unilateral growth of renewable energy sources (RES)in the electricity sector. With increasing shares ofintermittent RES, overcapacities during periods of strongwind and photovoltaic electricity generation occur. In theface of insufficient transmission capacities, due to aninhibited network extension, the electricity generation hasto be curtailed. This curtailment of RES leads to economiclosses and could be avoided through flexible loads. As anoption to cope with those problems, the technologies ofpower-to-gas (PtG) and power-to-heat (PtH) are presentedin this paper. First, the alkaline electrolyzer (AEL),polymer electrolyte membrane electrolyzer (PEMEL),and solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) are investigatedregarding their operational parameters. Second, the electricboiler, electrode heating boiler, and heat pumps areconsidered.
