1Anthropogenic emission inventories in China:a review显示文摘The development of reliable anthropogenic emission inventories is essential for both understanding the sources of air pollution and designing effective air-pollution-control measures in China. However, it is challenging to quantify emissions in China accurately, given the variety of contributing sources, the complexity of the technology mix and the lack of reliable measurements. Over the last two decades,tremendous efforts have been made to improve the accuracy of emission inventories, and significant improvements have been realized. More reliable statistics and survey-based data have been used to reduce the uncertainties in activity rates and technology distributions. Local emission factors and source profiles covering various sources have been measured and reported. Based on these local databases, improved emission inventory models have been developed for power plants, large industrial plants and the residential,transportation and agricultural sectors. In this paper, we review the progress that has been made in developing inventories of anthropogenic emissions in China. We first highlight the major updates that have been made to emission inventory models and the underlying data by source category. We then summarize the sector-based estimates of emissions of different species contained in current inventories. The progress that has been made in the development of model-ready emissions is also presented. 2Trends in Lipids Level and Dyslipidemia among Chinese Adults, 2002-2015显示文摘Objective To investigate the trends of lipid profiles and dyslipidemia among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Methods Data were collected from three nationally representative cross-sectional surveys.Fasting venous blood samples were collected and serum lipids were tested by biochemical analysis and enzymatic determination.Lipid levels and the prevalence of dyslipidemia among adults were analyzed with complex sampling weighting adjustment for age and gender.Results The weighted means of TC, TG, and LDL-c significantly increased linearly from 3.93, 1.12, and 2.12 mmol/L in 2002 to 4.59, 1.41, and 2.78 mmol/L in 2010 and then to 4.63, 1.47, and 2.87 mmol/L in 2015, respectively;by contrast, HDL-c levels decreased significantly from 1.30 mmol/L to 1.26 mmol/L over the same period.Similar trends in mean non-HDL-c and lipid-related ratios were observed.The weighted dyslipidemia prevalence linearly increased;in particular, hypercholesterolemia increased from 1.6% to 5.6% and then to 5.8%, hypertriglyceridemia increased from 5.7% to 13.6% and then to 15.0%, low HDL-c increased from 18.8% to 35.5% and then to 24.9%, and high LDL-c increased from 1.3% to 5.6% and then to 7.2%(P for trend <0.001).Conclusion Dyslipidemia increased among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Development of a comprehensive strategy to decrease lipid levels in this population is urgently required.SONG Peng Kun MAN Qing Qing LI Hong PANG Shao Jie JIA Shan Shan LI Yu Qian HE Li ZHAO Wen Hua ZHANG Jian 2019Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,8:45
3Risk factors for complications associated with upper gastrointestinal foreign bodies显示文摘AIM: To investigate predictive risk factors associated with complications in the endoscopic removal of foreign bodies from the upper gastrointestinal tract.METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 194 patients with a diagnosis of foreign body impaction in the upper gastrointestinal tract,confirmed by endoscopy,at two university hospital in South Korea.Patient demographic data,including age,gender,intention to ingestion,symptoms at admission,and comorbidities,were collected.Clinical features of the foreign bodies,such as type,size,sharpness of edges,number,and location,were analyzed.Endoscopic data those were analyzed included duration of foreign body impaction,duration of endoscopic performance,endoscopic device,days of hospitalization,complication rate,30-d mortality rate,and the number of operationsrelated to foreign body removal.RESULTS: The types of upper gastrointestinal foreign bodies included fish bones,drugs,shells,meat,metal,and animal bones.The locations of impacted foreign bodies were the upper esophagus(57.2%),mid esophagus(28.4%),stomach(10.8%),and lower esophagus(3.6%).The median size of the foreign bodies was 26.2 ± 16.7 mm.Among 194 patients,endoscopic removal was achieved in 189,and complications developed in 51 patients(26.9%).Significant complications associated with foreign body impaction and removal included deep lacerations with minor bleeding(n = 31,16%),ulcer(n = 11,5.7%),perforation(n = 3,1.5%),and abscess(n = 1,0.5%).Four patients underwent operations because of incomplete endoscopic foreign body extraction.In multivariate analyses,risk factors for endoscopic complications and failure were sharpness(HR = 2.48,95%CI: 1.07-5.72; P = 0.034) and a greater than 12-h duration of impaction(HR = 2.42,95%CI: 1.12-5.25,P = 0.025).CONCLUSION: In cases of longer than 12 h since foreign body ingestion or sharp-pointed objects,rapid endoscopic intervention should be provided in patients with ingested foreign bodies.Kyong Hee Hong Yoon Jae Kim Jae Hak Kim Song Wook Chun Hee Man Kim Jae Hee Cho 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,26:35
4A rapid method for chemical fingerprint analysis of Panax notoginseng powders by ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry显示文摘A method coupling ultra-performance liquid chromatography(UPLC) with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer(Qtof MS) using the electrospray ionization(ESI) source was developed for the identification of the major saponins from Panax notoginseng powder(PNP). Ten different PNP samples were analyzed and evaluated for their quality by similarity evaluation and principle component analysis(PCA). Based on the accurate mass, summarized characteristic fragmentation behaviors, retention times of different types of saponins, related botanical biogenesis, and reported chromatographic behavior of saponins, fifty-one common peaks were effectively separated and identified, including 28 protopanaxadiol saponins and 18 protopanaxatriol saponins. Simultaneously, 15 significant discrepancy compounds were identified from the disqualified PNP samples. 5Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging for monitoring chemotherapeutic efficacy in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To assess intravoxel incoherent motion diffusionweighted imaging(IVIM-DWI) for monitoring early efficacy of chemotherapy in a human gastric cancer mouse model.METHODS: IVIM-DWI was performed with 12 b-values(0-800 s/mm2) in 25 human gastric cancer-bearing nude mice at baseline(day 0), and then they were randomly divided into control and 1-, 3-, 5- and 7-d treatment groups(n = 5 per group). The control group underwent longitudinal MRI scans at days 1, 3, 5 and 7, and the treatment groups underwent subsequent MRI scans after a specified 5-fluorouracil/calciumfolinate treatment. Together with tumor volumes(TV), the apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC) and IVIM parameters [true water molecular diffusion coefficient(D), perfusion fraction(f) and pseudo-related diffusion coefficient(D*)] were measured. The differences in those parameters from baseline to each measurement(ΔTV%, ΔADC%, ΔD%, Δf% and ΔD*%) were calculated. After image acquisition, tumor necrosis, microvessel density(MVD) and cellular apoptosis were evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin(HE), CD31 and terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling(TUNEL) staining respectively, to confirm the imaging findings. Mann-Whitney test and Spearman's correlation coefficient analysis were performed.RESULTS: The observed relative volume increase(ΔTV%) in the treatment group were significantly smaller than those in the control group at day 5(ΔTV_(treatment)% = 19.63% ± 3.01% and ΔTVcontrol% = 83.60% ± 14.87%, P = 0.008) and day 7(ΔTV_(treatment)% = 29.07% ± 10.01% and ΔTV_(control)% = 177.06% ± 63.00%, P = 0.008). The difference in ΔTV% between the treatment and the control groups was not significant at days 1 and 3 after a short duration of treatment. Increases in ADC in the treatment group(ΔADC%_(treatment), median, 30.10% ± 18.32%, 36.11% ± 21.82%, 45.22% ± 24.36%) were significantly higher compared with the control group(ΔADC%_(control), median, 4.98% ± 3.39%, 6.26% ± 3.08%, 9.24% ± 6.33%) at days 3, 5 and 7(P = 0.008, P = 0.016, P = 0.008, respectively). Increases in D in the treatment group(ΔD%_(treatment), median 17.12% ± 8.20%, 24.16% ± 16.87%, 38.54% ± 19.36%) were higher than those in the control group(ΔD%_(control), median-0.13% ± 4.23%, 5.89% ± 4.56%, 5.54% ± 4.44%) at days 1, 3, and 5(P = 0.032, P = 0.008, P = 0.016, respectively). Relative changes in f were significantly lower in the treatment group compared with the control group at days 1, 3, 5 and 7 follow-up(median,-34.13% ± 16.61% vs 1.68% ± 3.40%, P = 0.016;-50.64% ± 6.82% vs 3.01% ± 6.50%, P = 0.008;-49.93% ± 6.05% vs 0.97% ± 4.38%, P = 0.008, and-46.22% ± 7.75% vs 8.14% ± 6.75%, P = 0.008, respectively). D* in the treatment group decreased significantly compared to those in the control group at all time points(median,-32.10% ± 12.22% vs 1.85% ± 5.54%, P = 0.008;-44.14% ± 14.83% vs 2.29% ± 10.38%, P = 0.008;-59.06% ± 19.10% vs 3.86% ± 5.10%, P = 0.008 and-47.20% ± 20.48% vs 7.13% ± 9.88%, P = 0.016, respectively). Furthermore, histopathologic findings showed positive correlations with ADC and D and tumor necrosis(r_s = 0.720, P < 0.001; r_s = 0.522, P = 0.007, respectively). The cellular apoptosis of the tumor also showed positive correlations with ADC and D(r_s = 0.626, P = 0.001; r_s = 0.542, P = 0.005, respectively). 6Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia diagnosed by capsule endoscopy and double balloon enteroscopy显示文摘Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia(PIL)is a rare disorder characterized by dilated intestinal lymphatics and the development of protein-losing enteropathy.Patients with PIL develop hypoalbuminemia,hypocalcemia,lymphopenia and hypogammaglobulinemia,and present with bilateral lower limb edema,fatigue,abdominal pain and diarrhea.Endoscopy reveals diffusely elongated,circumferential and polypoid mucosae covered with whitish enlarged villi,all of which indicate intestinal lymphangiectasia.Diagnosis is conf irmed by characteristic tissue pathology,which includes dilated intestinal lymphatics with diffusely swollen mucosa and enlarged villi.The prevalence of PIL has increased since the introduction of capsule endoscopy.The etiology and prevalence of PIL remain unknown.Some studies have reported that several genes and regulatory molecules for lymphangiogenesis are related to PIL.We report the case of a patient with PIL involving the entire small bowel that was confirmed by capsule endoscopy and double-balloon enteroscopy-guided tissue pathology who carried a deletion on chromosome 4q25.The relationship between this deletion on chromosome 4 and PIL remains to be investigated.Tak Geun Oh Joo Won Chung Hee Man Kim Seok-Joo Han Jin Sung Lee Jung Yeob Park Si Young Song 2011World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2011,3,11:12
7Effect of high-molecular-weight glutenin subunit deletion on soft wheat quality properties and sugar-snap cookie quality estimated through near-isogenic lines显示文摘High-molecular-weight glutenin subunits(HMW-GSs) play a critical role in determining the viscoelastic properties of wheat dough. The HMW-GSs are encoded by Glu-A1, Glu-B1, and Glu-D1 loci on the long arms of chromosomes 1A, 1B, and 1D, respectively. In the present study, four near-isogenic lines with different HMW-GS deletions and compositions at the Glu-A1 and Glu-D1 loci in Yangmai 18 background were used for quality analysis. Deletion in Glu-D1 showed much weaker gluten quality and dough strength than null Glu-A1 genotype and wild genotype(WT), based on the measurements of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)-sedimentation, lactic acid solvent retention capacity(SRC), gluten index, development time, stability time, and alveograph P and L values. The deletion of Glu-D1 did not significantly affect grain hardness, grain protein content, water SRC, sodium carbonate SRC, and sucrose SRC. Double null genotype in Glu-A1 and Glu-D1 and single null genotype in Glu-D1 showed significantly higher cookie diameter, crispness, and lower cookie height compared with single null genotype in Glu-A1 and WT. 8Evolution of blood lipids and risk factors of dyslipidemia among people living with human immunodeficiency virus who had received first-line antiretroviral regimens for 3 years in Shenzhen显示文摘Background:Lipid abnormalities are prevalent among people living with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)(PLWH)and contribute to increasing risk of cardiovascular events.This study aims to investigate the incidence of dyslipidemia and its risk factors in PLWH after receiving different first-line free antiretroviral regimens.Methods:PLWH who sought care at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen from January 2014 to December 2018 were included,and the baseline characteristics and clinical data during the follow-up were collected,including total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C).The risk factors of dyslipidemia after antiretroviral therapy were analyzed with the generalized estimating equation model.Results:Among the 7623 PLWH included,the mean levels of TC,HDL-C and LDL-C were 4.23±0.85 mmol/L,1.27±0.29 mmol/L and 2.54±0.65 mmol/L,respectively,and the median TG was 1.17(IQR:0.85-1.68)mmol/L.Compared with that in PLWH receiving tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)+lamivudine(3TC)+ritonavir-boosted lopinavir(LPV/r),zidovudine(AZT)+3TC+efavirenz(EFV),and AZT+3TC+LPV/r,the incidence of dyslipidemia was lower in PLWH receiving TDF+3TC+EFV.In multivariate analysis,we found that the risks of elevations of TG,TC,and LDL-C were higher with TDF+3TC+LPV/r(TG:odds ratio[OR]=2.82,95%confidence interval[CI]:2.55-3.11,P<0.001;TC:OR=1.24,95%CI:1.14-1.35,P<0.001;LDL:OR=1.06,95%CI:1.00-1.12,P=0.041),AZT+3TC+EFV(TG:OR=1.41,95%CI:1.28-1.55,P<0.001;TC:OR=1.43,95%CI:1.31-1.56,P<0.001;LDL:OR=1.18,95%CI:1.12-1.25,P<0.001),and AZT+3TC+LPV/r(TG:OR=3.08,95%CI:2.65-3.59,P<0.001;TC:OR=2.40,95%CI:1.96-2.94,P<0.001;LDL:OR=1.52,95%CI:1.37-1.69,P<0.001)than with TDF+3TC+EFV,while treatment with TDF+3TC+LPV/r was less likely to restore HDL-C levels compared with TDF+3TC+EFV(OR=0.95,95%CI:0.92-0.97,P<0.001).In addition to antiretroviral regimens,antiretroviral therapy duration,older age,overweight,obesity and other traditional factors were also important risk factors for dyslipidemia.Conclusion:The incidence of dyslipidemia varies with different antiretroviral regimens,with TDF+3TC+EFV having lower risk for dyslipidemia than the other first-line free antiretroviral regimens in China.Li-Qin Sun Jia-Ye Liu Yun He Yang Zhou Liu-Mei Xu Lu-Kun Zhang Fang Zhao Xiao-Ning Liu Ying Song Ting-Zhi Cao Yi-Mei Tian Man Rao Hui Wang 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,23:9

10Energy Saving Cooperative Communication over Fading Channels with Relay Selection and Power Control显示文摘In order to save energy and make more efficient use of wireless channel, this article puts forward an energy saving cooperative relaying scheme which actuates the cooperative transmission only when the feedback from the destination indicates failure of the direct transmission. The proposed scheme selects the optimal relay and its corresponding transmission power in each time slot based on channel condition and residual energy with the objective of minimizing energy consumption and extending network lifetime. In the study, the finite-state Markov channel model is used to characterize the correlation structure of channel fading in wireless networks, and the procedure of relay selection and transmission power decision is formulated as a Markov decision process. 11Hepatic resection vs percutaneous radiofrequency ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma abutting right diaphragm显示文摘BACKGROUND It is usually difficult to adequately conduct percutaneous ultrasound-guided radiofrequency(RF) ablation for hepatocellular carcinomas(HCCs) abutting the diaphragm. Our hypothesis was that the subphrenic location of HCC could have an effect on the long-term therapeutic outcomes after hepatic resection and RF ablation.AIM To compare the long-term therapeutic outcomes of hepatic resection and percutaneous RF ablation for HCCs abutting the diaphragm.METHODS A total of 143 Child-Pugh class A patients who had undergone hepatic resection(n = 80) or percutaneous ultrasound-guided RF ablation(n = 63) for an HCC(≤ 3 cm) abutting the right diaphragm were included. Cumulative local tumor progression(LTP), cumulative intrahepatic distant recurrence(IDR), disease-free survival(DFS), and overall survival(OS) rates were estimated. Prognostic factors for DFS and OS were analyzed. Complications were evaluated.RESULTS The cumulative IDR rate, DFS rate, and OS rate for the hepatic resection group and RF ablation group at 5 years were '35.9% vs 65.8%', '64.1% vs 18.3%', and'88.4% vs 68.7%', respectively. Hepatic resection was an independent prognostic factor for DFS(P ≤ 0.001; hazard ratio, 0.352; 95%CI: 0.205, 0.605; with RF ablation as the reference category); however, treatment modality was not an independent prognostic factor for OS. The LTP rate was 46.6% at 5 years for the RF ablation group. The major complication rate was not significantly different between the groups(P = 0.630). 12Mucus production stimulated by IFN-AhR signaling triggers hypoxia of COVID-19显示文摘Silent hypoxia has emerged as a unique feature of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).In this study,we show that mucins are accumulated in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)of COVID-19 patients and are upregulated in the lungs of severe respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)-infected mice and macaques.We find that induction of either interferon(IFN)-P or IFN-y upon SARS-CoV-2 infection results in activation of aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR)signaling through an IDO-Kyn-dependent pathway,leading to transcriptional upregulation of the expression of mucins,both the secreted and membrane-bound,in alveolar epithelial cells.Consequently,accumulated alveolar mucus affects the blood-gas barrier,thus inducing hypoxia and diminishing lung capacity,which can be reversed by blocking AhR activity.These findings potentially explain the silent hypoxia formation in COVID-19 patients,and suggest a possible intervention strategy by targeting the AhR pathway.Yuying Liu Jiadi Lv Jiangning Liu Man Li Jing Xie Qi Lv Wei Deng Nannan Zhou Yabo Zhou Jiangping Song Peng Wang Chuan Qin Wei-Min Tong Bo Huang 2020Cell Research2020,30,12:5
13Malnutrition in Relation with Dietary, Geographical, and Socioeconomic Factors among Older Chinese显示文摘Objective Nutrition is closely related to the health of the elderly population. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive picture of the nutrition status of elderly Chinese and its related dietary,geographical, and socioeconomic factors.Methods A total of 13,987 ≥ 60-year-old persons from the 2010–2013 Chinese National Nutrition and Health Survey were included to evaluate various aspects of malnutrition, including underweight,overweight or obesity, and micronutrient inadequacy.Results Overall, the prevalence of obesity, overweight, and underweight was 12.4%, 34.8%, and 5.7%,respectively, with disparities both geographically and socioeconomically. The prevalence of underweight was higher among the older old(≥ 75 years), rural residents and those with low income, with low education status, and residing in undeveloped West areas. More than 75% of the elderly do not meet the Dietary Reference Intakes for vitamins A, B1, B2, and E, folate, calcium, selenium, potassium, biotin,and choline, with the prevalence of inadequate intake increasing with age for most nutrients. 16The HMGB1 signaling pathway activates the inflammatory response in Schwann cells显示文摘Schwann cells are not only myelinating cells, but also function as immune cells and express numerous innate pattern recognition receptors, including the Toll-like receptors. Injury to peripheral nerves activates an inflammatory response in Schwann cells. However, it is unclear whether specific endogenous damage-associated molecular pattern molecules are involved in the inflammatory response following nerve injury. In the present study, we demonstrate that a key damage-associated molecular pattern molecule, high mobility group box 1(HMGB1), is upregulated following rat sciatic nerve axotomy, and we show colocalization of the protein with Schwann cells. HMGB1 alone could not enhance expression of Toll-like receptors or the receptor for advanced glycation end products(RAGE), but was able to facilitate migration of Schwann cells. When Schwann cells were treated with HMGB1 together with lipopolysaccharide, the expression levels of Toll-like receptors and RAGE, as well as inflammatory cytokines were upregulated. 19Ectopic expression of VRT-A2 underlies the origin of Triticum polonicum and Triticum petropavlovskyi with long outer glumes and grains显示文摘Polish wheat (Triticum polonicum) is a unique tetraploid wheat species characterized by an elongated outer glume. The genetic control of the long-glume trait by a single semi-dominant locus, P1 (from Polish wheat), was established more than 100 years ago, but the underlying causal gene and molecular nature remain elusive. Here, we report the isolation of VRT-A2, encoding an SVP-clade MADS-box transcription factor, as the P1 candidate gene. Genetic evidence suggests that in T. polonicum, a naturally occurring sequence rearrangement in the intron-1 region of VRT-A2 leads to ectopic expression of VRT-A2 in floral organs where the long-glume phenotype appears. Interestingly, we found that the intron-1 region is a key ON/OFF molecular switch for VRT-A2 expression, not only because it recruits transcriptional repressors, but also because it confers intron-mediated transcriptional enhancement. Genotypic analyses using wheat accessions indicated that the P1 locus is likely derived from a single natural mutation in tetraploid wheat, which was subsequently inherited by hexaploid T. petropavlovskyi. 20Microvesicles derived from hypoxia/reoxYgenation-treated human umbilical vein endothellal cells impair relaxation of rat thoracic aortic rings显示文摘Objective To investigate the effects of microvesicles(MVs) derived from hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R)-treated human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) on endothelium-dependent relaxation of rat thoracic aortic rings.Methods H/R injury model was established to induce HUVECs to release H/R-EMVs.H/R-EMVs from HUVECs were isolated by ultracentrifugation from the conditioned culture medium.H/R-EMVs were characterized using 1 urn latex beads and anti-PE-CD144 by flow cytometry.Thoracic aortic rings of rats were incubated with 2.5,5,10,20 μg/ml H/R-EMVs derived from H/R-treated HUVECs for 4 hours,and their endothelium-dependent relaxation in response to acetylcholine(ACh) or endothelium-independent relaxation in response to sodium nitroprusside(SNP) was recorded in vitro.The nitric oxide(NO) production of ACh-treated thoracic aortic rings of rats was measured using Griess reagent.The expression of endothelial NO synthase(eNOS) and phosphorylated eNOS(p-eNOS,Ser-1177) in the thoracic aortic rings of rats was detected by Western blotting.Furthermore,the levels of SOD and MDA in H/R-EMVs-treated thoracic aortic rings of rats were measured using SOD and MDA kit.Results H/R-EMVs were induced by H/R-treated HUVECs and isolated by ultracentrifugation.The membrane vesicles(< 1 urn) induced by H/R were CD144 positive.ACh-induced relaxation and NO production of rat thoracic aortic rings were impaired by H/R-EMVs treatment in a concentration-dependent manner(P<0.05,P<0.01).The expression of total eNOS(t-eNOS)was not affected by H/R-EMVs.However,the expression of p-eNOS decreased after treated with H/R-EMVs.The activity of SOD decreased and the level of MDA increased in H/R-EMVs treated rat thoracic aortic rings(P<0.01).Conclusion ACh induced endothelium-dependent relaxation of thoracic aortic rings of rats was impaired by H/R-EMVs in a concentration-dependent manner.The mechanisms included a decrease in NO production,p-eNOS expression and an increase in oxidative stress.Shao-xun WANG Qi ZHANG Man SHANG Su WEI Miao LIU Yi-lu WANG Meng-xiao ZHANG Yan-na WU Ming-lin LIU Jun-qiu SONG Yan-xia LIU 2014中国应用生理学杂志2014,30,6:4
