| 1 | Polymorphism in the interleukin-17A promoter contributes to gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the contribution of the G-197A polymorphism in the interleukin-17(IL-17)promoter region to gastric cancer risk in an Iranian population.METHODS:We performed a case control study using samples from 161 individuals with gastric cancer and171 healthy controls.For each individual,the G-197A genotype was determined by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of polymerase chain reaction-amplified fragments.Statistical analyses were performed to determine whether any demographic or behavioral factors,infection with Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori),or a particular G-197A genotype was associated with gastric cancer risk.RESULTS:We found that the G-197A genotype wassignificantly associated with increased gastric cancer risk(P=0.001).Patients who were homozygous(AA)at position-197 were 2.9 times more likely to develop disease(95%CI:1.56-5.4;P=0.001).Furthermore,logistic regression analysis revealed that the presence of a single A allele increased the risk of gastric cancer up to 1.7-fold(95%CI:1.26-2.369;P=0.001).This association was observed for early stage gastric adenocarcinomas only,and was not linked to H.pylori infection.CONCLUSION:These results suggest that carrying one or more G-197A polymorphisms at position-197 in the IL-17 promoter region significantly increases gastric cancer risk in this patient population. | Alireza Rafiei Vahid Hosseini Ghasem Janbabai Abuzar Ghorbani Abulghasem Ajami Touraj Farzmandfar Maedeh Darzyani Azizi Jeremy J Gilbreath D Scott Merrell | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,34: | 7 |

| 5 | Parametric study and effect of calcination and carbonation conditions on the CO_2 capture performance of lithium orthosilicate sorbent显示文摘The world is currently facing the challenges of global warming and climate change. Numerous efforts have been taken to mitigate CO_2 emission, among which is the use of solid sorbents for CO_2 capture. In this work, Li_4SiO_4 was synthesised via a sol–gel method using lithium nitrate(LiNO_3) and tetraethylorthosilicate(Si C8 H20 O4) as precursors. A parametric study of Li:Si molar ratio(1-5), calcination temperature(600–800 °C) and calcination time(1–8 h) were conducted during sorbent synthesis. Calcination temperature(700–800 °C) and carbonation temperature(500–700 °C) during CO_2 sorption activity were also varied to confirm the optimum operating temperature. Sorbent with the highest CO_2 sorption capacity was finally introduced to several cyclic tests to study the durability of the sorbent through 10 cycles of CO_2 sorption–desorption test. The results showed that the calcination temperature of 800 °C and carbonation temperature of 700 °C were the best operating temperatures, with CO_2 sorption capacity of 7.95 mmol CO_2?(g sorbent)-1(93% of the theoretical yield). Throughout the ten cyclic processes, CO_2 sorption capacity of the sorbent had dropped approximately 16.2% from the first to the tenth cycle, which was a reasonable decline. | 7 | Optimization of electrochemically synthesized Cu3(BTC)2 by Taguchi method for CO2/N2 separation and data validation through artificial neural network modeling显示文摘Cu(BTC),a common type of metal organic framework(MOF),was synthesized through electrochemical route for CO capture and its separation from N.Taguchi method was employed for optimization of key parameters affecting the synthesis of Cu(BTC).The results indicated that the optimum synthesis conditions with the highest CO selectivity can be obtained using 1 g of ligand,applied voltage of 25 V,synthesis time of 2 h,and electrode length of 3 cm.The single gas sorption capacity of the synthetized microstructure Cu(BTC)for CO(at 298 K and 1 bar)was a considerable value of 4.40 mmol·g.The isosteric heat of adsorption of both gases was calculated by inserting temperature-dependent form of Langmuir isotherm model in the Clausius-Clapeyron equation.The adsorption of CO/N binary mixture with a concentration ratio of 15/85 vol-%was also studied experimentally and the result was in a good agreement with the predicted value of IAST method.Moreover,Cu(BTC)showed no considerable loss in CO adsorption after six sequential cycles.In addition,artificial neural networks(ANNs)were also applied to predict the separation behavior of CO/N mixture by MOFs and the results revealed that ANNs could serve as an appropriate tool to predict the adsorptive selectivity of the binary gas mixture in the absence of experimental data. | Kasra Pirzadeh Ali Asghar Ghoreyshi Mostafa Rahimnejad Maedeh Mohammadi | 2020 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,2: | 1 |
