Oil Production Optimization by Means of a Combined“Plugging,Profile Control, and Flooding”Treatment:Analysis of Results Obtained Using Computer Tomography and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance显示文摘Due to long-term water injection, often oilfields enter the so-called medium and high water cut stage, and it is difficult to achieve good oil recovery and water reduction through standard methods(single profile control and flooding measures). Therefore,in this study,a novel method based on“plugging, profile control, and flooding”being implemented at the same time is proposed. To assess the performances of this approach, physical simulations, computer tomography, and nuclear magnetic resonance are used. The results show that the combination of a gel plugging agent,a polymer microsphere flooding agent, and a high-efficiency oil displacement agent leads to better results in terms of oil recovery with respect to the situation in which these approaches are used separately(the oil recovery is increased by 15.37%).Computer tomography scan results show that with the combined approach,a larger sweep volume and higher oil washing efficiency are obtained. The remaining oil in the cluster form can be recovered in the middle and low permeability layer, increasing the proportion of the columnar and blind end states of the oil.The nuclear magnetic resonance test results show that the combined“plugging, profile control, and flooding”treatment can also be used to control more effectively the dominant channels of the high permeability layer and further expand the recovery degree of the remaining oil in the pores of different sizes in the middle and low permeability layers. However, for the low permeability layer(permeability difference of 20),the benefits in terms of oil recovery are limited.Yanyue Li Changlong Liu Wenbo Bao Baoqing Xue Peng Lv Nan Wang Hui Li Wenguo Ma 2022Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2022,18,3:1
Regulated macrophage immune microenvironment in 3D printed scaffolds for bone tumor postoperative treatment显示文摘The 3D printing technique is suitable for patient-specific implant preparation for bone repair after bone tumor resection. However, improving the survival rate due to tumor recurrence remains a challenge for implants. The macrophage polarization induction to M2-type tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)by the tumor microenvironment is a key factor of immunosuppression and tumor recurrence. In this study,a regenerative scaffold regulating the macrophage immune microenvironment and promoting bone regeneration in a dual-stage process for the postoperative treatment of bone tumors was constructed by binding a colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor(CSF-1R)inhibitor GW2580 onto in situ cosslinked hydroxybutylchitosan(HBC)/oxidized chondroitin sulfate(OCS)hydrogel layer covering a 3D printed calcium phosphate scaffold based on electrostatic interaction. The hydrogel layer on scaffold surface not only supplied abundant sulfonic acid groups for stable loading of the inhibitor, but also acted as the cover mask protecting the bone repair part from exposure to unhealthy growth factors in the microenvironment at the early treatment stage. With local prolonged release of inhibitor being realized via the functional material design,CSF-1R,the main pathway that induces polarization of TAMs,can be efficiently blocked, thus regulating the immunosuppressive microenvironment and inhibiting tumor development at a low therapeutic dose.At the later stage of treatment, calcium phosphate component of the scaffold can facilitate the repair of bone defects caused by tumor excision. In conclusion, the difunctional 3D printed bone repair scaffold regulating immune microenvironment in stages proposed a novel approach for bone tumor postoperative treatment.Cuidi Li Changwei Li Zhenjiang Ma Hongfang Chen Huitong Ruan Lianfu Deng Jinwu Wang Wenguo Cui 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:1

Decline in subarachnoid haemorrhage volumes associated with the first wave of the COVID- 19 pandemic显示文摘Background During the COVID-19 pandemic, decreased volumes of stroke admissions and mechanical thrombectomy were reported. The study’s objective was to examine whether subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH)hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm coiling interventions demonstrated similar declines. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional,retrospective,observational study across 6 continents,37 countries and 140 comprehensive stroke centres.Patients with the diagnosis of SAH,aneurysmal SAH,ruptured aneurysm coiling interventions and COVID-19 were identified by prospective aneurysm databases or by International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision, codes. The 3-month cumulative volume, monthly volumes for SAH hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm coiling procedures were compared for the period before(1 year and immediately before)and during the pandemic, defined as 1 March-31 May 2020.The prior 1-year control period(1 March-31 May 2019)was obtained to account for seasonal variation.Findings There was a significant decline in SAH hospitalisations, with 2044 admissions in the 3 months immediately before and 1585 admissions during the pandemic, representing a relative decline of 22.5%(95%CI−24.3%to−20.7%,p<0.0001).Embolisation of ruptured aneurysms declined with 1170-1035 procedures, respectively, representing an 11.5%(95%CI−13.5%to−9.8%,p=0.002)relative drop.Subgroup analysis was noted for aneurysmal SAH hospitalisation decline from 834 to 626 hospitalisations,a 24.9%relative decline(95%CI−28.0%to−22.1%,p<0.0001).A relative increase in ruptured aneurysm coiling was noted in low coiling volume hospitals of 41.1%(95%CI 32.3%to 50.6%,p=0.008)despite a decrease in SAH admissions in this tertile.Interpretation There was a relative decrease in the volume of SAH hospitalisations, aneurysmal SAH hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm embolisations during the COVID-19 pandemic. These findings in SAH are consistent with a decrease in other emergencies, such as stroke and myocardial infarction.Thanh N Nguyen Diogo C Haussen Muhammad M Qureshi Hiroshi Yamagami 73D-Printed Scaffolds Promote Angiogenesis by Recruiting Antigen-Specific T Cells显示文摘The immune response after implantation is a primary determinant of the tissue-repair effects of threedimensional(3D)-printed scaffolds. Thus, scaffolds that can subtly regulate immune responses may display extraordinary functions.Inspired by the angiogenesis promotion effect of humoral immune response,we covalently combined mesoporous silica micro rod(MSR)/polyethyleneimine(PEI)/ovalbumin(OVA)self-assembled vaccines with 3D-printed calcium phosphate cement(CPC)scaffolds for local antigen-specific immune response activation. With the response activated,antigen-specific CD4+T helper2(Th2)cells can be recruited to promote early angiogenesis. The silicon(Si)ions from MSRs can accelerate osteogenesis, with an adequate blood supply being provided. At room temperature, scaffolds with uniformly interconnected macropores were printed using a self-setting CPC-based printing paste, which promoted the uniform dispersion and structural preservation of functional polysaccharides oxidized hyaluronic acid(OHA)inside.Sustained release of OVA was achieved with MSR/PEI covalently attached to scaffolds rich in aldehyde groups as the vaccine carrier. The vaccine-loaded scaffolds effectively recruited and activated dendritic cells(DCs)for antigen presentation and promoted the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)in vitro. When embedded subcutaneously in vivo, the vaccine-loaded scaffolds increased the proportion of Th2 cells in the spleen and locally recruited antigenspecific T cells to promote angiogenesis in and around the scaffold.Furthermore, the result in a rat skull defect-repair model indicated that the antigen-specific vaccine-loaded scaffolds promoted the regeneration of vascularized bone. This method may provide a novel concept for patient-specific implant design for angiogenesis promotion.Cuidi Li Zhenjiang Ma Wentao Li Tianyang Jie Liping Zhong Hongfang Chen Wenhao Wang Jinwu Wang Wenguo Cui Yongxiang Zhao 2022Engineering2022,,10:0
The Mechanical Characteristics and Damage Model of Helan Mountain Rock based on Acoustic Emission显示文摘With the risk of disappearing for the rock paintings considering long-term exposure in Helan Mountain, the freeze-thaw(F-T)cycling experiments were carried out with 12-hour F-T cycling(0,10,20,30,and 40 F-T cycles)under five kinds of confining pressures(5,10,20,30,and 40 MPa).The acoustic emission(AE)detect technology was used to reveal the rock fracturing characteristics during the triaxial compression test whole process. The stress-strain relation changes along with different confining pressures and F-T cycles.Peak stress and residual stress changes along with different confining pressures and damages, and the variation of axial stress-AE ringing counts-time changes along with different confining pressures and F-T cycles. The damage variable with AE parameter under F-T and force coupling was defined for the first time, and the damages model was established. The experimental results show that the F-T cycles lead to the decrease of rock strength and the gradual transformation of compression failure mode from brittleness to plasticity. The confining pressure provides a certain ability to resist deformation and inhibit crack growth for rock samples after F-T cycles. The temporal and spatial evolution law of AE counts well corresponds to the loading and failure process of the rock samples. The AE 3D positioning technology can accurately capture the development position and direction of internal cracks and pores of rock, and the failure form is conical shear failure. The established damage model has a better fittingness between the theoretical calculation results and the test results, and is reasonable to be used in the future for protection of Helan Mountain rock painting.杨有贞 ZHAO Yishen MA Hailong CHEN Wenwu FENG Haiyan JIN Menghua LIN Qingqing MA Wenguo 2021Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2021,36,6:0
From “organs on a chip” to “patient on a chip”显示文摘CONVENTIONAL MODELS FOR DRUG SCREENING :The increasing cost of drug safety is attributed to the inappropriate pre-clinical models with unrepresentative pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles that blur drug efficacy and toxicity. Moreover, the commercial drugs designed by impromper disease models could cause potential multi-organ side effects.Even worse,in some cases, unqualified drug screening is the cause of unexpected hospitalization in clinical. These urgent yet unsolved issues push scholars to reform monolayer cell culture and traditional animal models for drug validation.1 Then,in vitro three-dimensional(3D)cell culture models followed, but these are mainly limited to cell capsulation in defined hydrogels, spheroid systems, and engineered scaffolds. Not surprisingly, the 3D cell aggregates are still far from real organs, invalidating the drug kinetics.Qimanguli Saiding Jingyun Ma Chunhai Ke Wenguo Cui 2022The Innovation2022,3,5:0
