1热处理对金刚石/2024Al复合材料微观组织和热物理性能的影响(英文)显示文摘采用挤压铸造法制备粒径为5μm、体积分数为50%的金刚石/2024Al 复合材料。退火处理后对其金相组织界面反应、界面结合情况以及金刚石颗粒的内部缺陷进行观察与分析,并对其热物理性能进行测试与研究。结果表明,金刚石/2024Al 复合材料的组织致密,无明显的气孔、夹杂等缺陷;颗粒为不规则多边形,有棱角,分布比较均匀。透射电镜观察表明,部分金刚石颗粒内部有位错和层错存在,而2024Al 基体中的位错密度较大,金刚石/2024Al界面处有较多的界面反应物生成,可能为Al2Cu。复合材料在20~100°C温度区间内的平均热膨胀系数为8.5×10-6°C-1,退火处理的复合材料其热膨胀系数有一定程度的降低;随着温度的升高,复合材料的平均热膨胀系数也呈现增加的趋势。复合材料的热导率约为100 W/(m·K),退火处理能够提高复合材料的热导率。修子扬 王旭 M.HUSSAIN 冯超 姜龙涛 2013Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China2013,23,12:6
2Compliant plant wearables for localized microclimate and plant growth monitoring显示文摘The microclimate surrounding a plant has major effect on its health and photosynthesis process,where certain plants struggle in suboptimal environmental conditions and unbalanced levels of humidity and temperature.The ability to remotely track and correlate the effect of local environmental conditions on the healthy growth of plants can have great impact for increasing survival rate of plants and augmenting agriculture output.This necessitates the widespread distribution of lightweight sensory devices on the surface of each plant.Using flexible and biocompatible materials coupled with a smart compact design for a low power and lightweight system,we develop widely deployed,autonomous,and compliant wearables for plants.The demonstrated wearables integrate temperature,humidity and strain sensors,and can be intimately deployed on the soft surface of any plant to remotely and continuously evaluate optimal growth settings.This is enabled through simultaneous detection of environmental conditions while quantitatively tracking the growth rate(viz.elongation).Finally,we establish a nature-inspired origami-assembled 3D-printed“PlantCopter”,used as a launching platform for our plant wearable to enable widespread microclimate monitoring in large fields.Joanna M.Nassar Sherjeel M.Khan Diego Rosas Villalva Maha M.Nour Amani S.Almuslem Muhammad M.Hussain 2018npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1:5

4Flexible and biocompatible high-performance solid-state micro-battery for implantable orthodontic system显示文摘To augment the quality of our life,fully compliant personalized advanced health-care electronic system is pivotal.One of the major requirements to implement such systems is a physically flexible high-performance biocompatible energy storage(battery).However,the status-quo options do not match all of these attributes simultaneously and we also lack in an effective integration strategy to integrate them in complex architecture such as orthodontic domain in human body.Here we show,a physically complaint lithium-ion micro-battery(236μg)with an unprecedented volumetric energy(the ratio of energy to device geometrical size)of 200 mWh/cm^(3) after 120 cycles of continuous operation.Our results of 90%viability test confirmed the battery’s biocompatibility.We also show seamless integration of the developed battery in an optoelectronic system embedded in a threedimensional printed smart dental brace.We foresee the resultant orthodontic system as a personalized advanced health-care application,which could serve in faster bone regeneration and enhanced enamel health-care protection and subsequently reducing the overall health-care cost.Arwa T.Kutbee Rabab R.Bahabry Kholod O.Alamoudi Mohamed T.Ghoneim Marlon D.Cordero Amani S.Almuslem Abdurrahman Gumus Elhadj M.Diallo Joanna M.Nassar Aftab M.Hussain Niveen M.Khashab Muhammad M.Hussain 2017npj Flexible Electronics2017,1,1:2

7Classification and management of community forests in Indian Eastern Himalayas:implications on ecosystem services,conservation and livelihoods显示文摘Introduction:Evidence is mounting that traditional knowledge can play a critical role in shaping the biodiversity conservation strategies and maintaining ecosystem services.This study was conducted with Adi community of Arunachal Pradesh(Ar P)state in the Eastern Indian Himalayas to understand as how local systems of forest classification governs conservation tradition and influences subsistence livelihoods.Twenty Adi villages were sampled from East Siang district of Ar P.A total of 197 men and 204 women(total of 401)Adi respondents were selected for this study.A combination of methodologies including in-depth interview,transect walks,focus group discussion,participant observation and informal interactions were combined for data collection.Results:Local forests are classified into 10 different categories based on indicators such as topography,cultural significance,use typology,ownership rights and plant diversity indicators.Local people assign different values(economic,cultural and ecological)to different forest types.Overall,morang followed by regpi and homegardens are perceived to be more valuable to the local needs than other forests with relative ranking of a particular forest reflecting its sustainability.Adis access several diverse services from these community-managed forests.Compared to men(3–35%),the role of women was assessed to be much higher(65 to 100%)in conserving forest biodiversity.Woman-led practices,instrumental in sustainable forest management,included deliberate manipulations of micro-habitats,sustainable harvesting strategies and species domestication.Men were mostly involved in ownership and decision-making roles and in devising social norms to ensure sustainability.Adi celebrate a number of cultural events to sustain biodiversity.Forest-based livelihoods are intrinsically connected to forest resource conservation and are governed by community approaches.Most of the community members gather plants,hunt wild animals and access other ecosystem services from these forests to sustain their livelihoods.Community-owned forests are collectively managed by an indigenous institution‘Kebang’.Conflicts relating to forest land use and resource management are resolved by the customary chief‘Gaon Burha’and his associates using traditional norms.Conclusions:Adi’s system of forest classification,based on ecological,socio-cultural and livelihood indicators,is a location-specific yet comprehensive in nature.Study suggests that integrating the local indicators applied in classifying and strategies applied in managing the local forests can provide valuable insights to the policy makers for the sustainable conservation of forest resources.Ranjay K.Singh Shah M.Hussain T.Riba Anshuman Singh Egul Padung Orik Rallen Y.J.Lego Ajay Kumar Bhardwaj 2018Ecological Processes2018,7,1:1

10Two fully automated data-driven 3D whole-breast segmentation strategies in MRI for MR-based breast density using image registration and U-Net with a focus on reproducibility显示文摘Presence of higher breast density(BD)and persistence over time are risk factors for breast cancer.A quantitatively accurate and highly reproducible BD measure that relies on precise and reproducible whole-breast segmentation is desirable.In this study,we aimed to develop a highly reproducible and accurate whole-breast segmentation algorithm for the generation of reproducible BD measures.Three datasets of volunteers from two clinical trials were included.Breast MR images were acquired on 3T Siemens Biograph mMR,Prisma,and Skyra using 3D Cartesian six-echo GRE sequences with a fat-water separation technique.Two whole-breast segmentation strategies,utiliz-ing image registration and 3D U-Net,were developed.Manual segmentation was performed.A task-based analysis was performed:a previously developed MR-based BD measure,MagDensity,was calculated and assessed using automated and manual segmentation.The mean squared error(MSE)and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC)between MagDensity were evaluated using the manual segmentation as a reference.The test-retest reproducibility of MagDensity derived from different breast segmentation methods was assessed using the difference between the test and retest measures(Δ_(2-1)),MSE,and ICC.The results showed that MagDensity derived by the registration and deep learning segmentation methods exhibited high concordance with manual segmentation,with ICCs of 0.986(95%CI:0.974-0.993)and 0.983(95%CI:0.961-0.992),respectively.For test-retest analysis,MagDensity derived using the regis-tration algorithm achieved the smallest MSE of 0.370 and highest ICC of 0.993(95%CI:0.982-0.997)when compared to other segmentation methods.In conclusion,the proposed registration and deep learning whole-breast segmentation methods are accurate and reliable for estimating BD.Both methods outperformed a previously developed algorithm and manual segmentation in the test-retest assessment,with the registration exhibiting superior performance for highly reproducible BD measurements.Jia Ying Renee Cattell Tianyun Zhao Lan Lei Zhao Jiang Shahid M.Hussain Yi Gao H‑H.Sherry Chow Alison T.Stopeck Patricia A.Thompson Chuan Huang 2022Visual Computing for Industry,Biomedicine,and Art2022,5,1:1

14Mathematical modeling and parametric investigation of blood flow through a stenosis artery显示文摘In this study,a mathematical model is formulated to examine the blood flow through a cylindrical stenosed blood vessel.The stenosis disease is caused because of the abnormal narrowing of flow in the body.This narrowing causes serious health issues like heart attack and may decrease blood flow in the blood vessel.Mathematical modeling helps us analyze such issues.A mathematical model is considered in this study to explore the blood flow in a stenosis artery and is solved numerically with the finite difference method.The artery is an elastic cylindrical tube containing blood defined as a viscoelastic fluid.A complete parametric analysis has been done for the flow velocity to clarify the applicability of the defined problem.Moreover,the flow characteristics such as the impedance,the wall shear stress in the stenotic region,the shear stresses in the throat of the stenosis and at the critical stenosis height are discussed.The obtained results show that the intensity of the stenosis occurs mostly at the highest narrowing areas compared with all other areas of the vessel,which has a direct impact on the wall shear stress.It is also observed that the resistive impedance and wall shear pressure get the maximum values at the critical height of the stenosis.A.ALI M.HUSSAIN M.S.ANWAR M.INC 2021Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2021,42,11:0
15Bipolar tri-state resistive switching characteristics in Ti/CeO_x/Pt memory device显示文摘Highly repeatable multilevel bipolar resistive switching in Ti/Ce Ox/Pt nonvolatile memory device has been demonstrated. X-ray diffraction studies of Ce O2 films reveal the formation of weak polycrystalline structure. The observed good memory performance, including stable cycling endurance and long data retention times(> 104s) with an acceptable resistance ratio(~102), enables the device for its applications in future non-volatile resistive random access memories(RRAMs). Based on the unique distribution characteristics of oxygen vacancies in Ce Ox films, the possible mechanism of multilevel resistive switching in Ce Ox RRAM devices has been discussed.
