1Petrographic and Geochemicial Characteristics of the Kiziloren Formation (Upper Triassic-Lower Jurassic) in the Akpinar (Konya,Turkey) Area显示文摘This paper describes the occurrence of dolomite and the mechanism of dolomitization of the Upper Triassic-Lower Jurassic Kiziloren Formation in the autochthonous Bolkardagi unit of the middle Taurus Mountains in south western Turkey. Dolomites were analyzed for geochemical, isotopic and crystallographic variation. Dolomites occur as a replacement of precursor carbonate and cement. The dolomite crystals range from <10 to ~1000 μm existing as both replacements and cements. Sr concentrations range between 84 and 156 ppm, and the molar Sr/Ca ratios of dolomitizing fluids are estimated to range between 0.0066 to 0.013 ratios. Dolomites are Ca-rich (with average CaCO3 and MgCO3 equal to 56.43 and 43.57 mol%, respectively) and they are non-stoichiometric, with an average Sr=116 ppm, Na=286 ppm, Mn=81 ppm, Fe=1329 ppm, and δ18O and δ13C ranges from -0.6‰ to -6.1‰ Pee Dee Belemnite [PDB], and +1.2 to +3.9‰ PDB. The North American Shale Composition [NASC]-normalized rare earth element (REE) values of the both limestone and dolomite sample groups show very similar REE patterns characterized by small positive Eu (mean=1.32 and mean=1.42, respectively) and slightly or considerably negative Ce (mean=0.61 and mean=0.72, respectively) anomalies and a clear depletion in all REE species. 2Peroxynitrite induced decrease in Na^+, K^+-ATPase activity is restored by taurine显示文摘AIM: Peroxynitrite (ONOO-) is a powerful oxidant shown to damage membranes. In the present study, the effect of taurine on changes of liver plasma membrane Na+, K+-ATPase induced by ONOO- was investigated. METHODS: Liver plasma membrane was exposed toONOO-with or without taurine. Na+, K+-ATPase activity and lipid peroxidation as thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) levels were measured.RESULTS: Different concentrations of ONOO- (100, 200,500, and 1 000 μmol/L) were found to decrease liver plasma membrane Na+, K+-ATPase activity significantly. The depletion of enzyme activity was not concentration dependent. Effects of different concentrations of taurine on liver plasma membrane Na+, K+-ATPase activity were also measured. Taurine did not cause any increase in enzyme activity. When plasma membranes were treated with 200 μmol/L ONOO- with different concentrations of taurine, a restoring effect of taurine on enzyme activity was observed. TBARS levels were also measured and taurine was found to decrease the elevated values. 3Effects of obstructive sleep apnea on retinal microvasculature显示文摘AIM:To detect retinal microvascular variations in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome patients.METHODS:This prospective,observational case-control study included healthy controls and patients with mild,moderate,and severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.Vascular parameters,foveal avascular area,and flow areas in macula-centered,6.00×6.00 mm2 scan size optical coherence tomography angiography images were compared.RESULTS:The control group had the highest whole image,parafoveal,and perifoveal vessel density among the groups in both superficial and the deep capillary plexus(all P<0.05).Rapid eye movement sleep apnoea-hypopnoea index was reversely correlated with whole(Rho=-0.195,P=0.034),parafoveal(Rho=-0.242,P=0.008),perifoveal(Rho=-0.187,P=0.045)vessel density in the superficial capillary plexus,and whole(Rho=-0.186,P=0.046),parafoveal(Rho=-0.260,P=0.004),perifoveal(Rho=-0.189,P=0.043)vessel density in the deep capillary plexus,though the mean and non-rapid eye movement sleep apnoeahypopnoea index related with only parafoveal vessel density in the superficial capillary plexus(Rho=-0.213,P=0.020;Rho=-0.191,P=0.038)and the deep capillary plexus(Rho=-0.254,P=0.005;Rho=-0.194,P=0.035).CONCLUSION:This study shows decreased vessel density and its reverse correlation with the apnoea-hypopnoea index in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.Müjdat Karabulut Semai Bek Sinem Karabulut Aylin Karalezli Gülnihal Kutlu 2023International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2023,16,10:0
4Experimental investigation on combustion and emission characteristics of reactivity controlled compression ignition engine powered with iso-propanol/biodiesel blends显示文摘Recently, reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) has been proposed inorder to achieve a higher thermal efficiency with lower emissions than conventional combustion. In RCCI mode, as the fuel types and their combinations affects the reactivity stratificationinside cylinder, thus combustion control, in present study, iso-propanol was evaluated as lowreactivity fuel (LRF) when petroleum diesel, commercial biodiesel and their blends were highreactivity fuels. It is of great importance that iso-propanol and biodiesel be used together inRCCI mode, as they significantly affect the in-cylinder stratification due to their high octane/cetane number. Therefore, the reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) combustioncharacteristics was investigated in a diesel research engine using iso-propanol, petroleumdiesel, biodiesel and their blends as fuels. Tests were conducted on varying loadings (from20% to 60% of max torque) and premixed ratios of LRF (Rp Z 0, 0.15, 0.30, 0.45, and0.60) at a constant engine speed of 2400 rpm. Results, which were compared with conventionaldiesel combustion (CDC), showed that, as the premixed ratio (Rp) of low-reactivity fuel (isopropanol) increased, ignition delay (ID) period prolonged while combustion duration (CD) and rate of pressure rise (RoPR) reduced assisted to reduce NO emissions and smoke opacity in theexhaust. NO and smoke opacity reduced simultaneously for biodiesel-propanol combinationsup to 40% under 20% load and 0.60 premixed ratio of LRF compared to CDC. Propanol premixed ratio of 0.30 at 60% load was found to be optimum concerning lowest emissions. In conventional mode, HC emissions reduced by up to 52% when biodiesel and its blends with dieselfuel are used, whereas they increased significantly in RCCI mode.
