1Use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin Ⅱ receptor blockers in context of COVID-19 outbreak:a retrospective analysis显示文摘The possible effects of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors(ACEIs)or angiotensin Ⅱ receptor blockers(ARBs)on COVID-19 disease severity have generated considerable debate. We performed a single-center,retrospective analysis of hospitalized adult COVID-19 patients in Wuhan,China, who had definite clinical outcome(dead or discharged)by February 15,2020.Patients on anti-hypertensive treatment with or without ACEI/ARB were compared on their clinical characteristics and outcomes. The medical records from 702 patients were screened.Among the 101 patients with a history of hypertension and taking at least one anti-hypertensive medication,40 patients were receiving ACEI/ARB as part of their regimen, and 61 patients were on antihypertensive medication other than ACEI/ARB.We observed no statistically significant differences in percentages of in-hospital mortality(28%vs.34%,P=0.46),ICU admission(20%vs.28%,P=0.37)or invasive mechanical ventilation(18%vs.26%,P=0.31)between patients with or without ACEI/ARB treatment.Further multivariable adjustment of age and gender did not provide evidence for a significant association between ACEI/ARB treatment and severe COVID-19 outcomes. Our findings confirm the lack of an association between chronic receipt of reninangiotensin system antagonists and severe outcomes of COVID-19.Patients should continue previous antihypertensive therapy until further evidence is available.Jiuyang Xu Chaolin Huang Guohui Fan Zhibo Liu Lianhan Shang Fei Zhou Yeming Wang Jiapei Yu Luning Yang Ke Xie Zhisheng Huang Lixue Huang Xiaoying Gu Hui Li Yi Zhang Yimin Wang Frederick G.Hayden Peter W.Horby Bin Cao Chen Wang 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5:2
2On the Tectonic Problems of the Southern East China Sea and Adjacent Regions:Evidence from Gravity and Magnetic Data显示文摘In this paper, two sets of gravity and magnetic data were used to study the tectonics of the southern East China Sea and Ryukyu trench-arc system:one data set was from the ‘Geological-geophysical map series of China Seas and adjacent areas' database and the other was newly collected by R/V Kexue III in 2011.Magnetic and gravity data were reorganized and processed using the software MMDP,MGDP and RGIS.In addition to the description of the anomaly patterns in different areas, deep and shallow structure studies were performed by using several kinds of calculation, including a spectrum analysis,upward-continuation of the Bouguer anomaly and horizontal derivatives of the total-field magnetic anomaly. The depth of the Moho and magnetic basement were calculated.Based on the above work, several controversial tectonic problems were discussed.Compared to the shelf area and Ryukyu Arc,the Okinawa Trough has an obviously thinned crust, with the thinnest area having thickness less than 14 km in the southern part. The Taiwan-Sinzi belt, which terminates to the south by the NW-SE trending Miyako fault belt, contains the relic volcanic arc formed by the splitting of the paleo Ryukyu volcanic arc as a result of the opening of the Okinawa Trough. As an important tectonic boundary, the strike-slip type Miyako fault belt extends northwestward into the shelf area and consists of several discontinuous segments.A forearc terrace composed of an exotic terrane collided with the Ryukyu Arc following the subduction of the Philippine Sea Plate.Mesozoic strata of varying thicknesses exist beneath the Cenozoic strata in the shelf basin and significantly influence the magnetic pattern of this area. The gravity and magnetic data support the existence of a Great East China Sea,which suggests that the entire southern East China Sea shelf area was a basin in the Mesozoic without alternatively arranged uplifts and depressions, and might have extended southwestward and connected with the northern South China Sea shelf basin.SHANG Luning ZHANG Xunhua HAN Bo DU Runlin 2016Journal of Ocean University of China2016,15,1:2
3Characteristics of crustal variation and extensional break-up in the Western Pacific back-arc region based on a wide-angle seismic profile显示文摘The marginal sea and back-arc basins in the Western Pacific Ocean have become the focus of tectonics due to their unique tectonic location. To understand the deep crustal structure in the back-arc region,we present a 545-kmlong active-source ocean bottom seismometer(OBS)wide-angle reflection/refraction profile in the East China Sea.The P wave velocity model shows that the Moho depth rises significantly, from approximately 30 km in the East China Sea shelf to approximately 16 km in the axis of the Okinawa Trough. The lower crustal high-velocity zone(HVZ)in the southern Okinawa Trough, with V_(p) of 6.8-7.3 km/s,is a remarkable manifestation of the mantle material upwelling and accretion to the lower crust. This confirms that the lower crustal high-velocity mantle accretion is developed in the southern Okinawa Trough.During the process of back-arc extension, the crustal structure of the southern Okinawa Trough is completely invaded and penetrated by the upper mantle material in the axis region. In some areas of the southern central graben, the crust may has broken up and entered the initial stage of seafloor spreading. The discontinuous HVZs in the lower crust in the back-arc region also indicate the migration of spreading centers in the back-arc region since the Cenozoic. The asthenosphere material upwelling in the continent-ocean transition zone is constantly driving the lithosphere eastward for episodic extension, and is causing evident tectonic migration in the Western Pacific back-arc region.Jianghao Qi Xunhua Zhang Zhiqiang Wu XiangjunMeng Luning Shang Yang Li Xingwei Guo Fanghui Hou Enyuan He QiangWang 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,3:0
