1Reactive dividing wall column for hydrolysis of methyl acetate:Design and control显示文摘Reactive distillation and dividing wall column distillation are two kinds of effective separation technologies,and their integrated configuration,reactive dividing wall column(RDWC),presents attractive advantages.In this study,the rigorous simulation of RDWC for methyl acetate hydrolysis is performed,and sensitivity analysis is conducted to obtain the minimum reboiler duty.Then a comparison is made between the conventional process and RDWC process,and it shows that 20.1% energy savings can be achieved by RDWC process.In addition,the dynamic characteristic of RDWC is studied and an effective control strategy is proposed.The simple PI control scheme with three temperature loops can obtain reasonable control performance and maintain products at desired purities.It is proved that this RDWC process is an energy efficiency alternative with good controllability.Lumin Li Lanyi Sun Delian Yang Wang Zhong Yi Zhu Yuanyu Tian 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,10:11
2Optimization and Control of Extractive Distillation with Heat Integration for Separating Benzene/Cyclohexane Mixtures显示文摘In this work, the extractive distillation with heat integration process is extended to separate the pressure-insensitive benzene-cyclohexane azeotrope by using furfural as the entrainer. The optimal design of extractive distillation process is established to achieve minimum energy requirement using the multi-objective genetic algorithm, and the results show that energy saving for this heat integration process is 15.7%. Finally, the control design is performed to investigate the system's dynamic performance, and three control structures are studied. 3Design and Control of Self-Heat Recuperative Distillation Process for Separation of Close-Boiling Mixtures: n-Butanol and iso-Butanol显示文摘In order to explore the advantages of self-heat recuperative distillation(SHRD) process, the design and control of the SHRD process was studied for the separation of n-butanol and iso-butanol mixtures. The economic superiority of SHRD process is presented when a comparison on the total annual cost(TAC) of the conventional distillation process, the vapor recompression distillation process and the SHRD process was made. For the SHRD process, 37.74% and 11.35% savings of TAC can be achieved as compared to the conventional distillation process and vapor recompression distillation process, respectively. The dynamic characteristics of this promising SHRD sequence had been studied, and the dynamic responses demonstrated that 10% changes in both feed flow rate and feed composition can be well handled by the control strategy with dual-temperature control. 4Design and Control of Thermally Coupled Reactive Distillation Sequence for Biodiesel Production显示文摘Decreasing petroleum reserves and growing alternative fuels requirements have promoted the study of biodiesel production. In this work, two thermally coupled reactive distillation designs for biodiesel production were investigated, and the sensitivity analysis was conducted to obtain the appropriate design values. The thermodynamic analysis and economics evaluation were performed to estimate the superiority of the thermally coupled designs over the base case. The proposed biodiesel production processes were simulated using the simulator Aspen Plus, and calculation results show that the exergy loss and economic cost in the two thermally coupled designs can be greatly reduced. It is found that the thermally coupled side-stripper reactive distillation design provides more economic benefits than the side-rectifier one. 5Design, Optimization and Control of Extractive Distillation for Separation of Ethyl Acetate-Ethanol-Water Mixture Using Ionic Liquids显示文摘In this work, the process simulation of pressure-swing distillation(PSD) and extractive distillation(ED) using ionic liquid(IL) 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate([bmim][OAc]) as the entrainer for separation of ethyl acetateethanol-water mixture is performed. The design parameters of the two distillation processes are optimized with the minimum total annual cost(TAC) serving as the objective function. The results show that the TAC saving of ED process is 35.27% in comparison with that of PSD process in the case of achieving the same purity and yield of ethyl acetate.In addition, the dynamic controllability of ED process is further studied. 6Recent Advances in Molybdenum-Based Materials for Lithium-Sulfur Batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries as power supply systems possessing a theoretical energy density of as high as 2600 Wh kg−1 are considered promising alternatives toward the currently used lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the insulation characteristic and huge volume change of sulfur,the generation of dissolvable lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)during charge/discharge,and the uncontrollable dendrite formation of Li metal anodes render Li-S batteries serious cycling issues with rapid capacity decay.To address these challenges,extensive efforts are devoted to designing cathode/anode hosts and/or modifying separators by incorporating functional materials with the features of improved conductivity,lithiophilic,physical/chemical capture ability toward LiPSs,and/or efficient catalytic conversion of LiPSs.Among all candidates,molybdenum-based(Mo-based)materials are highly preferred for their tunable crystal structure,adjustable composition,variable valence of Mo centers,and strong interactions with soluble LiPSs.Herein,the latest advances in design and application of Mo-based materials for Li-S batteries are comprehensively reviewed,covering molybdenum oxides,molybdenum dichalcogenides,molybdenum nitrides,molybdenum carbides,molybdenum phosphides,and molybdenum metal.In the end,the existing challenges in this research field are elaborately discussed.Henghan Dai Lumin Wang Yue Zhao Jialu Xue Ruicong Zhou Chenyang Yu Jianing An Jinyuan Zhou Qiang Chen Gengzhi Sun Wei Huang 2021Research2021,,1:1
7Ultra-thin CoAl layered double hydroxide nanosheets for the construction of highly sensitive and selective QCM humidity sensor显示文摘To achieve real-time monitoring of humidity in various applications,we prepared facile and ultra-thin CoAl layered double hydroxide(CoAl LDH)nanosheets to engineer quartz crystal microbalances(QCM).The characteristics of CoAl LDH were investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy(XPS),Brunauer–Emmett–Telle(BET),atomic force microscopy(AFM)and zeta potential.Due to their large specific surface area and abundant hydroxyl groups,CoAl LDH nanosheets exhibit good humidity sensing performance.In a range of 11.3%and 97.6%relative humidity(RH),the sensor behaved an ultrahigh sensitivity(127.8 Hz/%RH),fast response(9.1 s)and recovery time(3.1 s),low hysteresis(3.1%RH),good linearity(R^(2)=0.9993),stability and selectivity.Besides,the sensor can recover the initial response frequency after being wetted by deionized water,revealing superior self-recovery ability under high humidity.Based on in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),the adsorption mechanism of CoAl LDH toward water molecules was explored.The QCM sensor can distinguish different respiratory states of people and wetting degree of fingers,as well as monitor the humidity in vegetable packaging,suggesting excellent properties and a promising application in humidity sensing.Yongheng Zhu Xuhua Dong Jinsheng Cheng Lumin Wang Cheng Zhao Yonghui Deng Siqi Xie Yingjie Pan Yong Zhao Gengzhi Sun Tianjun Ni 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,8:1
8Application of different molecular sieves in photothermal catalysis of Jatropha oil显示文摘The preparation of green and economical bio-aviation fuel is a priority for the sustainable development industry.In this study,Jatropha oil was used as a raw material to catalyze the conversion of raw material to aviation kerosene fraction by photothermal coupling under the conditions of light and low temperature.The correlations among conversion rate,target alkane selectivity,composition distribution,and catalyst microstructure were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),nitrogen(N2)adsorption and desorption,X-ray fluorescence(XRF),ammoniatemperature programmed desorption(NH3-TPD),ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry(UV-Vis),and other characterization.The correlation between conversion and target alkane selectivity and composition distribution and catalyst microstructure was investigated,and different modification methods and different molecular sieve materials were selected.The results showed that the molecular sieves modified with the solid dispersion method could retain the structural stability of titanium dioxide(TiO2)and molecular sieves to a great extent while slightly enhancing the pore capacity and pore size of the catalyst to make it easier to adsorb reactants;the introduction of active metal platinum(Pt)could reduce the forbidden bandwidth of the catalyst,increase the weak acid amount of the catalyst,improve the adsorption capacity of hydrogen(H2),and thus improve the catalytic ability,resulting in a suitable catalyst for this study:P-21.The photothermal catalytic reaction of Jatropha oil using P-21 catalyst obtained 97.21%conversion and 74.99%selectivity of the target alkanes under the optimal process parameters.The results of this study provide effective catalyst parameters for research in the field of clean energy.Yijie Yang Longlong Ma Lumin Sun Xinghua Zhang Chao Gui Yubao Chen 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,5:0
9An Experimental and Numerical Study on the Cleaning of Pleated Bag Filters Using Low-Pressure Pulsed-Jets显示文摘Pulsed-jet cleaning is recognized as the most efficient method to regenerate bag dust collectors traditionally used in industrial processes to control the emission of particulates.In this study,non-woven needle felt filter bags with and without a film coating material have been analyzed considering different geometries(different number N of pairs of pleated filter bag sides)in the frame of dedicated low-pressure pulsed-jet cleaning experiments.The flow structure inside the bag and the response characteristics of its wall have also been analyzed numerically through a computational fluid-dynamics/structural-dynamics(CFD-CSD)unidirectional fluid-solid coupling method.As shown by the experiments,the peak pressure(P_(0))on the wall of the filter bag with N=8 and 12 is higher,which indicates dust can be removed more effectively in these cases.The peak pressure on the wall increases first and then decreases along the direction of the bag length,while the peak pressure of the pleated filter bag with nonwoven needled felt film coating is greater than that without film coating.A comprehensive analysis of the time variation of acceleration,deformation,strain,stress and other factors,has led to the conclusion that the pleated filter bag with N=12 would be the optimal choice.Lumin Chen Wanying Sun Fuping Qian Can Fang Zhimin Zheng Qianshuang Zhuang Yunlong Han Jinli Lu 2022Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2022,18,1:0
10Effects of Age Differences on Job Satisfaction Evaluations of Employees in China显示文摘This study investigated factors that influence employees’job satisfaction in China and whether they differ across age groups.Analysis was conducted using the 2014 China Labor-force Dynamics Survey,which included 6,249 employees in three age groups:634 aged 55 and older;2,569 aged 40-54;and 3,046 aged 18-39.The results indicate that when gender,age,marital status,living community type and education levels are controlled,total job satisfaction was associated with positive evaluations of income,job security,working environment,working time,promotion opportunity,job enjoyability,colleague relationships,ability and skills utilization,respect from others,and opportunities to express opinions.Regression analysis results indicate that age has positive effects on total job satisfaction.The older employees had the highest evaluations for job security,working environment,working time,income,job enjoyability,and total job satisfaction.The middle-aged employees had the highest evaluations for respect from others.The younger group had the highest evaluations for colleague relationships,ability and skills utilization,opportunities to express opinions,job enjoyability,promotion opportunity,and respect from others.Additionally,the older group did not value promotion opportunity,opportunities to express opinions,colleague relationships,ability and skills utilization,and respect from others.The findings highlight the importance of examining age related needs regarding how to improve employees’job satisfaction.The results suggest that employers should consider age-related challenges and needs in the workplace.Hong Lumin Jiang Lin Sun Fei Nan Sook Park 2021Contemporary Social Sciences2021,6,1:0
