1Expression profiling-based clustering of healthy subjects recapitulates classifications defined by clinical observation in Chinese medicine显示文摘Differences between healthy subjects and associated disease risks are of substantial interest in clinical medicine. Based on clinical presentations, Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) classifies healthy people into nine constitutions: Balanced, Qi, Yang or Yin deficiency, Phlegm-dampness, Damp-heat, Blood stasis,Qi stagnation, and Inherited special constitutions. In particular, Yang and Yin deficiency constitutions exhibit cold and heat aversion, respectively. However, the intrinsic molecular characteristics of unbalanced phenotypes remain unclear. To determine whether gene expression-based clustering can recapitulate TCM-based classification, peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs) were collected from Chinese Han individuals with Yang/Yin deficiency(n ? 12 each) and Balanced(n ? 8) constitutions, and global gene expression profiles were determined using the Affymetrix HG-U133 A Plus 2.0 array. Notably,we found that gene expression-based classifications reflected distinct TCM-based subtypes. Consistent with the clinical observation that subjects with Yang deficiency tend toward obesity, series-clustering analysis detected several key lipid metabolic genes(diacylglycerol acyltransferase(DGAT2), acyl-Co A synthetase(ACSL1), and ATP-binding cassette subfamily A member 1(ABCA1)) to be down-and upregulated in Yin and Yang deficiency constitutions, respectively. Our findings suggest that Yin/Yang deficiency and Balanced constitutions are unique entities in their m RNA expression profiles. 2A method for weighing broiler chickens using improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and BP neural networks显示文摘Broiler chickens are traditionally weighed by steelyard or platform scale,which is timeconsuming and labor-intensive.Broiler chickens usually exhibit stress-related behavior during weighing.The 3D camera-based weighing system for broiler chickens can only weigh the broiler chicken in the monitoring area.Usually,it makes poor weight prediction due to poor segmentation especially when the broiler chicken is flapping its wings.To solve these issues,we developed one simple and low-cost weighing system with high stability and accuracy.A validity value extraction method from dynamic weighing was proposed.Then,an improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and a BP neural networks model were developed to avoid accidental interference.The BP neural networks model used daily weight gain,day-age,average velocity,and the weight data after filtering algorithm as the input layer.The weighing system was tested in a commercial Beijing Fatty Chickens house with Beijing Fatty Chickens.We tested thirteen groups of Beijing Fatty Chickens of different weights,from 500 g to 1800 g in intervals of 100 g,using the three different methods:no filtering algorithm or BP neural networks,only the improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and a hybrid of the improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and BP neural networks.The results showed that the hybrid algorithm had a better performance in minimizing the error,lowering from the original 6%down to 3%.The accurate weight data was transmitted to the remote service platform for further decision-making,such as activity analysis,feeding management,and health alerts.Weihong Ma Qifeng Li Jiawei Li Luyu Ding Qinyang Yu 2021Information Processing in Agriculture2021,8,2:5
33D-printed models improve surgical planning for correction of severe postburn ankle contracture with an external fixator显示文摘Gradual distraction with an external fixator is a widely used treatment for severe postburn ankle contracture(SPAC).However,application of external fixators is complex,and conventional two-dimensional(2D)imaging-based surgical planning is not particularly helpful due to a lack of spatial geometry.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the surgical planning process for this procedure with patient-specific three-dimension-printed models(3DPMs).In this study,patients coming from two centers were divided into two cohorts(3DPM group vs.control group)depending on whether a 3DPM was used for preoperative surgical planning.Operation duration,improvement in metatarsal-tibial angle(MTA),range of motion(ROM),the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)scores,complications,and patient-reported satisfaction were compared between two groups.The 3DPM group had significantly shorter operation duration than the control group((2.0±0.3)h vs.(3.2±0.3)h,P<0.01).MTA,ROM,and AOFAS scores between the two groups showed no significant differences pre-operation,after the removal of the external fixator,or at follow-up.Plantigrade feet were achieved and gait was substantially improved in all patients at the final follow-up.Pin-tract infections occurred in two patients(one in each group)during distraction and were treated with wound care and oral antibiotics.Patients in the 3DPM group reported higher satisfaction than those in the control group,owing to better patient-surgeon communication.Surgical planning using patient-specific 3DPMs significantly reduced operation duration and increased patient satisfaction,while providing similar improvements in ankle movement and function compared to traditional surgical planning for the correction of SPAC with external fixators.Youbai CHEN Zehao NIU Weiqian JIANG Ran TAO Yonghong LEI Lingli GUO Kexue ZHANG Wensen XIA Baoqiang SONG Luyu HUANG Qixu ZHANG Yan HAN 2021Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,10:3
4Numerical investigation on effects of side curtain opening behavior on indoor climate of naturally ventilated dairy buildings显示文摘The side-curtain is popular in cattle buildings to regulate indoor climates and ventilation rates by adjusting the opening ratio.It normally had three different adjusting strategies relate to the position of rollers,i.e.central roller(S1),top roller(S2)and bottom roller(S3),which result in different opening behaviors to generate the same opening ratio but different opening positions in the side wall for a full-curtain house.Numerical simulations were conducted using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)to investigate the effects of the eight potential opening behaviors of side curtains on the indoor climates and airflow rates in winter for a typical naturally ventilated dairy house in China when the opening ratio were 8.5%and 17%.Airflow patterns,wind chilled temperature(WCT)and age of air were analyzed in the animal occupied zone(AOZ)by taking reference planes.Openings at the very bottom of side walls had more efficient ventilation due to the younger air age,more effective air disturbing,more uniformly distributed indicators in AOZ.However,it will result in a lower WCT in AOZ although a lower ventilation rate was observed in this case.Openings on the very top of side wall would generate a better thermal comfort in AOZ but with very poor air quality and nonuniformly distributed airflows in the dairy house.S1 was not recommended to the practical application due to the poor indoor climate and the higher cost of the mechanical structure.Based on the comprehensive evaluations of the analytic hierarchy process,the most satisfaction opening positions were at the bottom of the side curtains and the optimized adjusting strategy is S2.Qifeng Li Chuanxia Yao Luyu Ding Ligen Yu Weihong Ma Ronghua Gao Wengang Zheng 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,5:2
5Toll-like receptor 9 defciency induces osteoclastic bone loss via gut microbiota-associated systemic chronic inflammation显示文摘Toll-like receptors(TLRs)play pivotal roles in inflammation and provide important links between the immune and skeletal systems.Although the activation of TLRs may affect osteoclast differentiation and bone metabolism,whether and how TLRs are required for normal bone remodeling remains to be fully explored.In the current study,we show for the first time that TLR9^(-/-)mice exhibit a low bone mass and low-grade systemic chronic inflammation,which is characterized by the expansion of CD4^(+)T cells and increased levels of inflammatory cytokines,including TNFα,RANKL,and IL1β.The increased levels of these cytokines significantly promote osteoclastogenesis and induce bone loss.Importantly,TLR9 deletion alters the gut microbiota,and this dysbiosis is the basis of the systemic inflammation and bone loss observed in TLR9^(-/-)mice.Furthermore,through single-cell RNA sequencing,we identified myeloid-biased hematopoiesis in the bone marrow of TLR9^(-/-)mice and determined that the increase in myelopoiesis,likely caused by the adaptation of hematopoietic stem cells to systemic inflammation,also contributes to inflammation-induced osteoclastogenesis and subsequent bone loss in TLR9^(-/-)mice.Thus,our study provides novel evidence that TLR9 signaling connects the gut microbiota,immune system,and bone and is critical in maintaining the homeostasis of inflammation,hematopoiesis,and bone metabolism under normal conditions.Peng Ding Qiyuan Tan Zhanying Wei Qiyu Chen Chun Wang Luyue Qi Li Wen Changqing Zhang Chen Yao 2022Bone Research2022,10,3:2

7Specnuezhenide suppresses diabetes-induced bone loss by inhibiting RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis显示文摘Diabetes osteoporosis is a chronic complication of diabetes mellitus(DM)and is associated with osteoclast formation and enhanced bone resorption.Specnuezhenide(SPN)is an active compound with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties.However,the roles of SPN in diabetic osteoporosis remain unknown.In this study,primary bone marrow macrophages(BMMs)were pretreated with SPN and were stimulated with receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand(RANKL;50 ng/mL)to induce osteoclastogenesis.The number of osteoclasts was detected by tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)staining.The protein levels of cellular oncogene fos/nuclear factor of activated T cells c1(c-Fos/NFATc1),nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),and mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs)were evaluated by western blot analysis.NF-κB luciferase assays were used to examine the role of SPN in NF-κB activation.The DM model group received a high-glucose,high-fat diet and was then intraperitoneally injected with streptozotocin(STZ).Micro-CT scanning,serum biochemical analysis,histological analysis were used to assess bone loss.We found that SPN suppressed RANKL-induced osteoclast formation and that SPN inhibited the expression of osteoclast-related genes and c-Fos/NFATc1.SPN inhibited RANKL-induced activation of NF-κB and MAPKs.In vivo experiments revealed that SPN suppressed diabetes-induced bone loss and the number of osteoclasts.Furthermore,SPN decreased the levels of bone turnover markers and increased the levels of runt-related transcription factor 2(RUNX2),osteoprotegerin(OPG),calcium(Ca)and phosphorus(P).SPN also regulated diabetes-related markers.This study suggests that SPN suppresses diabetes-induced bone loss by inhibiting RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis,and provides an experimental basis for the treatment of diabetic osteoporosis.Xiaoshuang Ye Juanjuan Jiang Juan Yang Wenyan Yan Luyue Jiang Yan Chen 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,8:2
8New process development and process evaluation for capturing CO2 in flue gas from power plants using ionic liquid[emim][Tf2N]显示文摘Using the ionic liquid[emim][Tf2N]as a physical solvent,it was found by Aspen Plus simulation that it was possible to attempt to capture CO2 from the flue gas discharged from the coal-fired unit of the power plant.Using the combination of model calculation and experimental determination,the density,isostatic heat capacity,viscosity,vapor pressure,thermal conductivity,surface tension and solubility of[emim][Tf2N]were obtained.Based on the NRTL model,the Henry coefficient and NRTL binary interaction parameters of CO2 dissolved in[emim][Tf2N]were obtained by correlating[emim][Tf2N]with the gas–liquid equilibrium data of CO2.Firstly,the calculated relevant data is imported into Aspen Plus,and the whole process model of the ionic liquid absorption process is established.Then the absorption process is optimized according to the temperature distribution in the absorption tower to obtain a new absorption process.Finally,the density,constant pressure heat capacity,surface tension,thermal conductivity,and viscosity of[emim][Tf2N]were changed to investigate the effect of ionic liquid properties on process energy consumption,solvent circulation and heat exchanger design.The results showed that based on the composition of the inlet gas stream to the absorbers,CO2 with a capture rate of 90%and a mass purity higher than 99.5%was captured.These results indicate that the[emim][Tf2N]could be used as a physical solvent for CO2 capture from coal-fired units.In addition,the results will provide a theoretical basis for the design of new ionic liquids for CO2 capture.Lan Li Xiaoting Huang Quanda Jiang Luyue Xia Jiawei Wang Ning Ai 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,3:2

10Heat stress alleviation for dairy cows housed in an open-sided barn by cooling fan and perforated air ducting(PAD)system显示文摘Curtain-sided barns with circulation fans above stall are commonly used to house dairy cows in China.Many farms equipped with circulation fans are unable to provide appropriate cooling,especially for the naturally ventilated shed,which can result in decreasing feed intake and milk production.For alleviating heat stress and improving animal comfort,a system consisting of an air cooler and a 30 m perforated air duct(PAD)was integrated to evenly distribute cooling air.The air was cooled by underground water and delivered to targeted zones above stall bed.The system was evaluated in an open sided dairy barn in Tianjin,China.For the stalls equipped with PAD system,air velocity reached above 1.1 m/s at 0.5 m height plane of the stall space,and was more uniformly distributed.Compared to the stalls equipped with circulation fans,the PAD system lowered air temperature by 1.5℃,and increased relative humidity by 8.1%.On average,Temperature Humidity Index(THI)and Equivalent Temperature Index(ETI)were decreased by 0.5 and 0.6,respectively.After a 15 days’operation of the system,rectal temperatures of the treated dairy cows were significantly lowered.The results also showed that the cows under PADs had a higher milk production.These findings suggest the PAD can be an effective cooling alternative for naturally ventilated dairy barns to alleviate heat stress.Xie Lina Wang Chaoyuan Ding Luyu Gui Zhiyuan Zhang Lu Shi Zhengxiang Li Baoming Jia Chuntao 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6:2
11Boundary-layer receptivity under interaction of free-stream turbulence and localized wall roughness显示文摘The boundary-layer receptivity under the interaction of free-stream turbulence(FST) and localized wall roughness is studied by the direct numerical simulation(DNS) and the fast Fourier transform. The results show that the Tollmien-Schlichting(T-S) wave packets superposed by a group of stability, neutral, and instability T-S waves are generated in the boundary layer. The propagation speeds of the T-S wave packets are calculated. The relation among the boundary-layer receptivity response, the amplitude of the FST, the roughness height, and the roughness width is determined. The results agree well with Dietz's experiments. 13Fully Coupled Time-Domain Simulation of Dynamic Positioning Semi-Submersible Platform Using Dynamic Surface Control显示文摘A fully coupled 6-degree-of-freedom nonlinear dynamic model is presented to analyze the dynamic response of a semi-submersible platform which is equipped with the dynamic positioning(DP) system. In the control force design, a dynamic model of reference linear drift frequency in the horizontal plane is introduced. The dynamic surface control(DSC) is used to design a control strategy for the DP. Compared with the traditional back-stepping methods, the dynamic surface control combined with radial basis function(RBF) neural networks(NNs) can avoid differentiating intermediate variables repeatedly in every design step due to the introduction of a first order filter. Low frequency motions obtained from total motions by a low pass filter are chosen to be the inputs for the RBF NNs which are used to approximate the low frequency wave force. Considering the propellers' wear and tear, the effect of filtering frequencies for the control force is discussed. Based on power consumptions and positioning requirements, the NN centers are determined. Moreover, the RBF NNs used to approximate the total wave force are built to monitor the disturbances. 14Exosomal S100A4 derived from highly metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma cells promotes metastasis by activating STAT3显示文摘Intercellular cross-talk plays important roles in cancer progression and metastasis.Yet how these cancer cells interact with each other is still largely unknown.Exosomes released by tumor cells have been proved to be effective cell-to-cell signal mediators.We explored the functional roles of exosomes in metastasis and the potential prognostic values for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Exosomes were extracted from HCC cells of different metastatic potentials.The metastatic effects of exosomes derived from highly metastatic HCC cells(HMH)were evaluated both in vitro and in vivo.Exosomal proteins were identified with iTRAQ mass spectrum and verified in cell lines,xenograft tumor samples,and functional analyses.Exosomes released by HMH significantly enhanced the in vitro invasion and in vivo metastasis of low metastatic HCC cells(LMH).S100 calcium-binding protein A4(S100A4)was identified as a functional factor in exosomes derived from HMH.S100A4r,ch exosomes significantly promoted tumor metastasis both in vitro and in vivo compared with S100A4^(rich) exosomes or controls.Moreover,exosomal S100A4 could induce expression of osteopontin(OPN),along with other tumor metastasis/stemness-related genes.Exosomal S100A4 activated OPN transcription via STAT3 phosphorylation.HCC patients with high exosomal S100A4 in plasma also had a poorer prognosis.In conclusion,exosomes from HMH could promote the metastatic potential of LMH,and exosomal S100A4 is a key enhancer for HCC metastasis,activating STAT3 phosphorylation and up-regulating OPN expression.This suggested exosomal S100A4 to be a novel prognostic marker and therapeutic target for HCC metastasis.Haoting Sun Chaoqun Wang Beiyuan Hu Xiaomei Gao Tiantian Zou Qin Luo Mo Chen Yan Fu Yuanyuan Sheng Kaili Zhang Yan Zheng Xudong Ren Shican Yan Yan Geng Luyu Yang Qiongzhu Dong Lunxiu Qin 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6:1
15Non-destructive 3D geometric modeling of maize root-stubble in-situ via X-ray computed tomography显示文摘No-tillage seeding has become an important approach to improve crop productivity,which needs colters of high performance to cut the root-stubble-soil composite.However,the difficulty of maize root-stubbles three-dimensional(3D)modeling hinders finite element(FE)simulation to improve development efficiency of such colters because of maize root system complexity and opaque nature of the soil.Fortunately,the non-destructive 3D geometric model of the maize root-stubble in-situ can be established via X-ray computed tomography(CT)following by a systematic procedure.The whole procedure includes CT scanning of the maize root-stubble-soil composite sample,image reconstruction via filtered back-projection(FBP)with the Hanning filter,segmentation of root-stubble via a variational level set method,and post-processing via morphological operations.The 3D reconstruction model of the maize root-stubble in-situ presents a complete,complex and in-situ geometrical morphology,which cannot be realized via other methods,including the destructive modelling after washing via CT.This study is the first to build a 3D geometric model of a maize root-stubble in-situ via CT,which opens up new possibilities for simulation of root-stubble-soil cutting using FEM,and much other research related to plant root-stubbles.Xu Zhao Luyu Xing Shifan Shen Jiaming Liu Daixing Zhang 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,3:1

17Mediating effect of undergraduate nursing students’ professional commitment on positive psychological capital and learning burnout显示文摘Objective:The objective of this study is to explore the mediating role of professional commitment of undergraduate nursing students between positive psychological capital(PsyCap)and learning burnout.Materials and Methods:A cluster sampling method was used to survey 442 students of a bachelor’s degree in freshman to the junior in a medical college in Shaanxi Province.Results:Professional commitment was positively related to positive PsyCap(=0.487,P<0.01),while positive PsyCap and professional commitment were negatively related to learning burnout(r=−0.456,r=−0.411,P all<0.01).There are certain mediating effects of professional commitment in the relationship between positive PsyCap and learning burnout.The mediating effect value of professional commitment is−0.065,accounting for 16.08%of the total effect.Conclusion:Nursing educators in medical colleges and universities should focus on developing and training the positive PsyCap of undergraduate nursing students,thereby enhancing and stabilizing their professional commitment level and reducing the risk of learning burnout.Huanze LI Hongfang CHEN Miaoqing ZHUANG Yue LIU Jiayi WANG Luyu ZHANG 2021Journal of Integrative Nursing2021,3,1:1
