7Effect of surface roughness on the angular acceleration for a droplet on a super-hydrophobic surface显示文摘The motion of droplets on a super‐hydrophobic surface,whether by sliding or rolling,is a hot research topic.It affects the performance of super‐hydrophobic materials in many industrial applications.In this study,a super‐hydrophobic surface with a varied roughness is prepared by chemical‐etching.The adhesive force of the advancing and receding contact angles for a droplet on a super‐hydrophobic surface is characterized.The adhesive force increases with a decreased contact angle,and the minimum value is 0.0169 mN when the contact angle is 151.47°.At the same time,the motion of a droplet on the superhydrophobic surface is investigated by using a high‐speed camera and fluid software.The results show that the droplet rolls instead of sliding and the angular acceleration increases with an increased contact angle.The maximum value of the angular acceleration is 1,203.19 rad/s^(2) and this occurs when the contact angle is 151.47°.The relationship between the etching time,roughness,angular acceleration,and the adhesion force of the forward and backward contact angle are discussed.Longyang LI Jingfang ZHU Zhixiang ZENG Eryong LIU Qunji XUE 2021Friction2021,9,5:1

9Self-reciprocity calibration for spherical transducers based on acoustic reflection from the inside wall of a spherical shell显示文摘B ased on the emission of pulsed spherical acoustic waves from a spherical transducer and their reflection from the inside wall of a concentric spherical shell,the electromechanical reciprocity theorem is applied to derive a reciprocity coefficient for the calibration of a spherical transducer in a spherical acoustic field.First,a self-reciprocity calibration method using a closed spherical shell reflector is proposed to obtain the five fundamental electroacoustic parameters of the spherical transducer from a single measurement.Further,a conversion factor is given for converting the voltage sensitivity obtained by the current method to the standard sensitivity defined in plane wave fields.To determine this conversion factor,a method is developed for measuring the scattering coefficient of the transducer.Calibration of a 10-mm-radius spherical transducer was performed in the frequency range 25 kHz to 63 kHz.The results showed that the standard uncertainty of the measured voltage sensitivity was up-bounded by 0.9 dB.SHOU Wende HUANG Yongjun YANG Liuqing CHEN Yi JIA Longyang ZHANG Wei HU Bing 2022Chinese Journal of Acoustics2022,41,3:0

11Strengthening the Mechanical Performance of Sea Urchin Skeleton by Tube Feet Pore显示文摘In this paper,the effects of tube feet pores on the mechanical properties of Sea Urchin Skeleton (SUS) have been studied.The pore structure of drop-like Tripnenstes gratilla (a sea urchin) skeleton is characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).Based upon the data,the finite element method has been employed to analyze the Maximum Tensile Stress (MTS) of SUS models with different pore positions,accompanied by compressive tests on SUS-like ceramics.Results indicate that for a drop-like SUS,the MTS keeps a linear relationship with the maximum load applied on the SUS.More importantly,the mechanical performances of some perforated SUSs are better than their non-perforated counterparts due to their lower MTS values,e.g.the maximum load can thus be increased by 35% when the pore is perforated at-10°.The strengthening is attributed to the introduced pore that causes the redistribution of stress and partly reduces the stress intensity on the original MTS position.By contrast,the pore only increases the MTS value of a spherical shell under isostatic pressure or unidirectional pressing.This is a strong hint that the drop-like shape of SUS has evolved to work with the tube feet pores to better protect their bodies.Hui Yu Tianye Lin Yu Xin Jianlin Li Jianbao Li Yongjun Chen Xianzhi Chen Longyang Liu 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,1:0
