1Soil Aggregate Stability and Iron and Aluminium Oxide Contents Under Different Fertiliser Treatments in a Long-Term Solar Greenhouse Experiment显示文摘Soil in greenhouses is likely to suffer a gradual decline in aggregate stability. Determination of the effects of different fertiliser practices on soil aggregate stability is important for taking advantage of solar greenhouses. Soil aggregate stability and iron(Fe) and aluminium(Al) oxide contents were investigated in a 26-year long-term fertilisation experiment in greenhouse in Shenyang, China,under eight fertiliser treatments: manure(M), fertiliser N(FN), fertiliser N with manure(MN), fertiliser P(FP), fertiliser P with manure(MP), fertiliser NP(FNP), fertiliser NP with manure(MNP), and control without any fertiliser(CK). A wet sieving method was used to determine aggregate size distribution and water-stable aggregates(WSA), mean weight diameter and geometric mean diameter as the indices of soil aggregate stability. Different fertiliser treatments had a statistically significant influence on aggregate stability and Fe and Al oxide contents. Long-term application of inorganic fertilisers had no obvious effects on the mass proportion of aggregates. By contrast, manure application significantly increased the mass proportion of macroaggregates at the expense of microaggregates. All treatments, with the exception of FNP, significantly increased the stability of macroaggregates but decreased that of microaggregates when compared with CK. Aggregation under MP and MN was better than that under M and MNP; however,no significant differences were found among inorganic fertiliser treatments(i.e., FN, FP, and FNP). 2Insight into fouling behavior of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)hollow fiber membranes caused by dextran with different pore size distributions显示文摘Membrane fouling is the key problem that occurs in membrane process for water treatment. However, how membrane microstructure influences the fouling behavior is still not clear. In this study, fouling behavior caused by dextran was deeply and systematically investigated by employing four poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)membranes with different pore sizes, ranging from 24 to 94 nm. The extent of fouling by dextran was accurately characterized by pore reduction, flux decline, and the change of critical flux. The result shows that membrane with the smallest pore size of 24 nm experienced the smallest fouling rate and the lowest fouling extent. As the membrane pore size increased, the critical flux ranges were 105-114, 63-73, 38-44 and 34-43 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1),respectively. The critical flux and fouling resistances indicated that the fouling propensity increases with the increase of membrane pore size. Two pilot membrane modules with mean pore size of 25 nm and 60 nm were applied in membrane filtration of surface water treatment. 3Reworking effects in the Holocene Zhuye Lake sediments:A case study by pollen concentrates AMS ^(14)C dating显示文摘Transported by wind and water,the relatively old sediments can deposit in the terminal lake of an inland drainage basin.The reworking effect can affect the lake sediments 14 C dating and explanations for proxies.The Zhuye Lake is the terminal lake of the Shiyang River Basin.Previous studies indicated that sediments in different locations of the lake basin showed different climatic change patterns.And then,some radiocarbon dates were inverted for some Late Pleistocene sections.Whether this phenomenon is related with the reworking effect? The pollen concentrates 14 C dating can avoid the reservoir effect,which is an ideal method for studying the reworking effect.In this study,we used the pollen concentrates as dating materials and dated five Holocene sections in the Zhuye Lake Basin.Based on the 14 C dates comparison between the pollen concentrates,organic matter,and shells,the pollen concentrates dates are relatively older than other dating materials.Based on the result,the reworking effect worked in the Zhuye Lake Basin during the Holocene;however,in different locations of the lake basin the reworking effects were in different levels.Furthermore,the Holocene lacustrine deposits were formed mostly during the early and middle Holocene.This study provided clues for reworking effect studies of other lakes in arid China.LIYu WANG NaiAng LI ZhuoLun ZHANG ChengQi ZHOU XueHua 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,10:7

5A four-compartment model for the COVID-19 infection—implications on infection kinetics,control measures,and lockdown exit strategies显示文摘Objective:To analyse the impact and repercussions of the surge in healthcare demand in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,assess the potential effectiveness of various infection/disease control measures,and make projections on the best approach to exit from the current lockdown.Design:A four-compartment model was constructed for SARS-CoV-2 infection based on the Wuhan data and validated with data collected in Italy,the UK,and the US.The model captures the effectiveness of various disease suppression measures in three modifiable factors:(a)the per capita contact rate(β)that can be lowered by means of social distancing,(b)infection probability upon contacting infectious individuals that can be lowered by wearing facemasks,personal hygiene,etc.,and(c)the population of infectious individuals in contact with the susceptible population,which can be lowered by quarantine.The model was used to make projections on the best approach to exit from the current lockdown.Results:The model was applied to evaluate the epidemiological data and hospital burden in Italy,the UK,and the US.The control measures were identified as the key drivers for the observed epidemiological data through sensitivity analyses.Analysing the different lockdown exit strategies showed that a lockdown exit strategy with a combination of social separation/general facemask use may work,but this needs to be supported by intense monitoring whichwould allowre-introduction/tightening of the controlmeasures if the number of newinfected subjects increases again.Conclusions and relevance:Governments should act early in a swift and decisive manner for containment policies.Any lockdown exit will need to be monitored closely,with regards to the potential of lockdown reimplementation.This mathematical model provides a framework for major pandemics in the future.Tianbing Wang Yanqiu Wu Johnson Yiu-Nam Lau Yingqi Yu Liyu Liu Jing Li Kang Zhang Weiwei Tong Baoguo Jiang 2020Precision Clinical Medicine2020,3,2:5
6A review and research on comprehensive characterization of microscopic shale gas reservoir space显示文摘In this paper,substantial domestic and foreign research results of microscopic shale reservoir space were systemically reviewed,the research history consisting of simple observation and qualitative classification,quantitative research,the combination of qualitative and quantitative research successively as well as the characteristics of each research stage were summarized.In addition,the current problems existing in the characterization methods of shale reservoir space were also analyzed.Furthermore,based on massive actual detection of typical core samples obtained from more than 50 global shale gas wells and relevant practical experience,a comprehensive characterization method of combining qualitative with the semiquantitative characterization was put forward.In detail,the indicators of the qualitative characterization include pore combination type and organic-matter microscopic morphology type,while the core elements of the semi-quantitative characterization include the percentage of the organic-matter area and the plane porosity of the pores of different types.Based on the reference of the naming and classification of rocks,the three-end-member diagram method was used to characterize microscopic shale reservoir space.This is achieved by plotting the three end-member diagram of 3 kinds of first-order critical reservoir spaces,i.e.,organic-matter pores,matrix pores,and micro-fractures,in order to intuitively present the features of the microscopic pore combination.Meanwhile,statistic histograms of organic-matter microscopic morphology type and the plane porosity of different types of pores were adopted to characterize the development degree of second-order pores quantitatively.By this comprehensive characterization method,the importance of both pore combination and the microscopic morphology of organic matter were emphasized,revealing the control of organic-matter microscopic morphology over the organic-matter pores.What is more,high-resolution FE-SEM was adopted to obtain semi-quantitative statistics results.In this way,the features of pore development and pore combination were quantified,not only reflecting the types and storage capacity of the microscopic shale reservoir space,but also presenting the hydrocarbongenerating potential of organic matter in shale.Therefore,the results of this research are capable of providing in-depth microscopic information for the assessment and exploration and development of shale gas resources.Yu-ru Yang Xiao-chen Liu Hui Zhang Gang-yi Zhai Jiao-dong Zhang Zhi-fang Hu Shu-jing Bao Cong Zhang Xiang-hua Wang Xiao Yang Zheng-zhuang Liu Ting Xie Juan Chen Liyu Fang Li-juan Qin 2019China Geology2019,2,4:3

8Exposure to bifenthrin disrupts the development of testis in male Sebastiscus marmoratus显示文摘Bifenthrin(BF) is a pyrethroid insecticide that is widely used in agriculture, horticulture, and for residential purposes. However, few studies addressing the reproductive toxicity of BF on fishes are available. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of BF on testicular development in Sebastiscus marmoratus and to gain insight into its mechanism. After exposure to 1, 10 and 100 ng/L BF for 50 days, there was a reduced number of mature sperm and an abundance of the late stages of spermatocysts in the testes. The levels of 17β-estradiol and testosterone were decreased significantly after BF exposure. 11Polarized holographic lithography system for high-uniformity microscale patterning with periodic tunability显示文摘Periodic microscale array structures play an important role in diverse applications involving photonic crystals and diffraction gratings.A polarized holographic lithography system is proposed for patterning high-uniformity microscale two-dimensional crossed-grating structures with periodic tunability.Orthogonal two-axis Lloyd’s mirror interference and polarization modulation produce three sub-beams,enabling the formation of two-dimensional crossed-grating patterns with wavelength-comparable periods by a single exposure.The two-dimensional-pattern period can also be flexibly tuned by adjusting the interferometer spatial positioning.Polarization states of three sub-beams,defining the uniformity of the interference fringes,are modulated at their initial-polarization states based on a strict full polarization tracing model in a three-dimensional space.A polarization modulation model is established considering two conditions of eliminating the unexpected interference and providing the desired identical interference intensities.The proposed system is a promising approach for fabricating high-uniformity two-dimensional crossed gratings with a relatively large grating period range of 500–1500 nm.Moreover,our rapid and stable approach for patterning period-tunable two-dimensional-array microstructures with high uniformity could be applicable to other multibeam interference lithography techniques.Gaopeng Xue Qihang Zhai Haiou Lu Qian Zhou Kai Ni Liyu Lin Xiaohao Wang Xinghui Li 2021Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,2:2
12Combination therapy of thiamine,vitamin C and hydrocortisone in treating patients with sepsis and septic shock:a meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis显示文摘Background:The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of thiamine and vitamin C with or without hydrocortisone coadministration on the treatment of sepsis and septic shock.Methods:MEDLINE,EMBASE and CENTRAL databases were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that made a comparative study between the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone and the administration of placebo in patients with sepsis or septic shock.Two reviewers independently performed study selection,data extraction and quality assessment.Both short-term mortality and change in the sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA)score from baseline(delta SOFA)were set as the primary outcomes.Secondary endpoints included intensive care unit(ICU)mortality,new onset of acute kidney injury,total adverse events,ICU and hospital length of stay,duration of vasopressor usage and ventilator-free days.Meanwhile,trial sequential analysis was conducted for primary outcomes.Results:Eight RCTs with 1428 patients were included in the current study.The results showed no significant reduction of short-term mortality in sepsis and septic shock patients who received combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone compared to those with placebo{risk ratio(RR),1.02[95%confidence interval(CI),0.87 to 1.20],p=0.81,I2=0%;risk difference(RD),0[95%CI,−0.04 to 0.05]}.Nevertheless,the combination therapy was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score[mean difference(MD),−0.63,(95%CI,−0.96 to−0.29,p<0.001,I^(2)=0%]and vasopressors duration(MD,−22.11[95%CI,−30.46 to−13.77],p<0.001,I2=6%).Additionally,there were no statistical differences in the pooled estimate for other outcomes.Conclusions:In the current meta-analysis,the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine,with or without hydrocortisone had no impact on short-term mortality when compared with placebo,but was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score among patients with sepsis and septic shock.Renqi Yao Yibing Zhu Yue Yu Zhixuan Li Lixue Wang Liyu Zheng Jingyan Li Huibin Huang Guosheng Wu Feng Zhu Zhaofan Xia Chao Ren Yongming Yao 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:2
13Investigation on process mechanism of a novel energy-saving synthesis for high performance Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12) anode material显示文摘Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)(LTO) anode material demonstrates superior cycling performance due to its stable spinel structure and high lithiation/de-lithiation potential.Herein,a novel energy-saving solid-phase synthesis route for LTO has been successfully designed,employing the cheap industrial intermediate product of metatitanic acid (HTO) as titanium source.Through the in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)and ex-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD),it is revealed for the first time that the amorphous crystal structure of HTO is more conducive for the Li+insertion,making it possible to prepare LTO at a relatively lower sintering temperature.Utilizing the dehydration carbonization reaction between glucose and sulfuric acid,an ingenious strategy of glucose pre-coating is adopted to avoid the generation of Li_(2)SO_(4) impurity caused by the residual sulfuric acid on the surface of HTO,which meanwhile enhances the conductivity and inhibits the particle growth of LTO.The obtained ALTO@C anode material consequently exhibits excellent electrochemical performance that 132.0 m Ah g^(-1)is remained even at 20 C,and ultra low decay rate of 0.015% per cycle is achieved during 1000 cycles at 2 C.Remarkably,LiCoO_(2)//ALTO@C full cell delivers conspicuous low-temperature property (130.7 m Ah g^(-1)at 0.5 C and almost no attenuation after 300 cycles under-20℃).Guochuan Wang Hongmei Wang Guangqiang Ma Xinhe Du Liyu Du Peng Jing Yanqing Wang Kaipeng Wu Hao Wu Qian Wang Yun Zhang 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,7:1

16Recent advanced development of stabilizing sodium metal anodes显示文摘As the application of next-generation energy storage systems continues to expand,rechargeable secondary batteries with enhanced energy density and safety are imperative for energy iteration.Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have attracted extensive attention and are recognized as ideal candidates for large-scale energy storage due to the abundant sodium resources and low cost.Sodium metal anodes(SMAs)have been considered as one of the most attractive anode materials for SIBs owing to their high specific capacity(1166 mAh g^(-1)),low redox potential,and abundant natural resources.However,the uncontrollable dendrite growth and inevitable side reactions on SMA lead to the continuous deterioration of the electrochemical performance,causing serious safety concerns and limiting their practical application in the future.Therefore,the construction of stable dendrite-free SMAs is a pressing problem for advanced sodium metal batteries(SMBs).In this review,we comprehensively summarize the research progress in suppressing the formation of sodium dendrite,including artificial solid electrolyte interphase(SEI),liquid electrolyte modification,three-dimensional(3D)host materials,and solid-state electrolyte.Additionally,key aspects and prospects of future research directions for SMAs are highlighted.We hope that this timely review can provide an overall picture of sodium protection strategies and stimulate more research in the future.Liyu Zhu Yucheng Li Jingyang Zhao Jing Liu Luying Wang Jiandu Lei 2023Green Energy & Environment2023,8,5:1

20Detailed Ecological Footprint Accounting of Liaoning in 2006显示文摘Ecological footprint (EF) has received considerable attention as a useful indicator in the context of sustainable development. So far, EF has been used in numerous studies by academies, organizations and government authorities. However, the results of these studies failed to be comparable directly with each other due to imprecise data sets, unmodified accounting methods of pasture and fossil energy, ignored secondary products, undefined process of calculating yield factors and improper biocapacity for biodiversity. In this paper, we elaborated on EF estimating methods from six categories of consumption in order to overcome the limitations above. We adopted precise data and revised methods, calculated EF of some secondary products, introduced weighted factor to calculate yield factors and adjusted biocapacity by an appropriate amount. Meanwhile, we investigated the resource consumption of Liaoning Province in 2006 to assess EF. Its results showed that Liaoning Province overused its natural capital and was in an unsustainable state.
