| 1 | The crustal structures of the central Longmenshan along and its margins as related to the seismotectonics of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘In 2010,a 500-km-long wide-angle reflection/refraction seismic profile was completed,running northwest from the central Sichuan Basin.This profile orthogonally crosses the meizoseismal area of great Wenchuan earthquake of 12 May 2008,which occurred in the central part of the Longmenshan.The profile also passes through the northwestern Sichuan Plateau,along which a new deep seismic sounding observation system was set up that was much improved over previous datasets and enabled abundant observations to be recorded.Seismic wave phase records that reflect the structural characteristics of different tectonic blocks,especially the complicated phase features associated with the Wenchuan earthquake,were calculated and analyzed in detail.A 2D crustal P-wave velocity model for the orogenic belt in the central Longmenshan and its margins was determined,and crustal structure differences between the stable Sichuan Basin and the thickened northwestern Sichuan Plateau were characterized.Lithological variations within the upper and lower crust in the interior of the plateau,especially a great velocity decrease and plastic rheological properties associated with strong lithologic weakening in lower crust,were detected.From west to east in the lower crust beneath the orogenic belt lying between the Sichuan Basin and the northwestern Sichuan Plateau,a giant shovel-like upwelling is observed that dips gently in the lower part and at higher angles in the upper part;this is inferred to be related to the fault systems in the central Longmenshan.An upwelling in the upper-middle crust along the eastern margin of the orogenic belt is associated with steeply dipping thrusts that strongly uplift the upper crust and crystalline basement beneath a central fault system in the Longmenshan.The data,combined with an understanding of the regional tectonic stress field and previous geological results,enable a discussion of basin-and-range coupling,orogenic tectonics,the crustal fault system,and the seismogenic tectonic environment of the central Longmenshan along the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. | JIA ShiXu LIU BaoJin XU ZhaoFan LIU Zhi FENG ShaoYing ZHANG JianShi LIN JieYan TIAN XiaoFeng LIU QiaoXia GUO WenBin | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,4: | 26 |
| 2 | Three-dimensional crustal velocity structure model of the middle-eastern north China Craton (HBCrust1.0)显示文摘Lithosphere thinning and destruction in the middle-eastern North China Craton(NCC), a region susceptible to strong earthquakes, is one of the research hotspots in solid earth science. All 42 seismic wide-angle reflection/refraction profiles have been completed in the middle-eastern NCC. We collect all the 2-D profiling results and perform gridding of the velocity and interface depth data, building a 3-D crustal velocity structure model for the middle-eastern NCC, named HBCrust1.0, by using the Kriging interpolation method. Our result shows that the first-arrival times calculated by HBCust1.0 fit well with the observations. The result demonstrates that the upper crust is the main seismogenic layer, and the brittle-ductile transition occurs at depths near interface C(the interface between upper and lower crust). The depth of interface Moho varies beneath the source area of the Tangshan earthquake, and a low-velocity structure is found to extend from the source area to the lower crust. Based on these observations, it can be inferred that stress accumulation responsible for the Tangshan earthquake may have been closely related to the migration and deformation of the mantle materials. Comparisons of the average velocities of the whole crust, the upper and the lower crust show that the average velocity of the lower crust under the central part of the North China Basin(NCB) in the east of the craton is obviously higher than the regional average. | 3 | First identification of kdr allele F1534S in VGSC gene and its association with resistance to pyrethroid insecticides in Aedes albopictus populations from Haikou City,Hainan Island,China显示文摘Background:Aedes albopictus is distributed widely in China,as a primary vector of Dengue fever and Chikungunya fever in south of China.Chemical insecticide control is one of the integrated programmes to prevent mosquito-borne diseases.Long-term applications of pyrethroids have resulted in the development of resistance in Ae.albopictus populations in China.However,the susceptibility of Ae.albopictus to pyrethroids in Hainan Island was unclear.Knockdown resistance(kdr),caused by point mutations in the VGSC gene,is one of the mechanisms that confer resistance to DDT and pyrethroids.This study was to investigate the resistance level of Ae.albopictus populations in Haikou City to three pyrethroid insecticides,and elucidate the relationship between the resistant phenotype and kdr mutations.Methods:The Aedes albopictus samples were collected in Xinbu Island(XI),Longtang Town(LT),Shishan Town(ST),Baishamen Park(BP),and Flower Market(FM)from Haikou City,Hainan Island,China.The larval susceptibility to deltamethrin,permethrin and beta-cypermethrin was tested by larval bioassays,and adult susceptibility to deltamethrin and DDT was determined by adult bioassays.The degree of resistance was determined by resistance ratio value(RR50>3)for larvae and by mortality for adult.The kdr alleles at codon 1534 of the VGSC gene were genotyped.The relationship between kdr genotypes and resistant phenotypes was analyzed by Chi-square test.Results:Out of five populations,assessed by larval bioassays,XI was susceptible to deltamethrin and permethrin;LT was susceptible to permethrin and beta-cypermethrin;and ST was susceptible to permithrin.FM and BP both were resistant to all of the three pyrethroids,and FM showed the highest degree of resistance,with RR50 values from 65.17 to 436.36.A total of 493 individuals from the larval bioassays were genotyped for kdr alleles.Five alleles were detected,including two wildtype alleles,TTC(F)(67.04%)and TTT(F)(0.41%),and three mutant alleles,TGC(C)(0.30%),TCC(S)(31.54%)and TTG(L)(0.71%).There was a clear correlation between mutant alleles(or F1534S)and resistant phenotypes(P<0.01).Conclusion:Two novel kdr mutant alleles F1534S and F1534L were detected in the pyrethroid resistant populations of Ae.albopictus in Haikou Hainan,China.For the first time,the mutant F1534S was associated with pyrethroid resistance in Ae.albopictus. | Huiying Chen Kaili Li Xiaohua Wang Xinyan Yang Yi Lin Fang Cai Wenbin Zhong Chunyan Lin Zhongling Lin Yajun Ma | 2016 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1: | 19 |
| 4 | Blocking FSH inhibits hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and reduces serum cholesterol显示文摘Menopause is associated with dyslipidemia and an increased risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease.The classic view assumes that the underlying mechanism of dyslipidemia is attributed to an insufficiency of estrogen.In addition to a decrease in estrogen, circulating follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)levels become elevated at menopause.In this study,we find that blocking FSH reduces serum cholesterol via inhibiting hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis.First,epidemiological results show that the serum FSH levels are positively correlated with the serum total cholesterol levels,even after adjustment by considering the effects of serum estrogen,in addition,the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is significantly higher in peri-menopausal women than that in premenopausal women.Furthermore,we generated a mouse model of FSH elevation by intraperitoneally injecting exogenous FSH into ovariectomized (OVX)mice,in which a normal level of estrogen (E2)was maintained by exogenous supplementation. Consistently,the results indicate that FSH,independent of estrogen,increases the serum cholesterol level in this mouse model. | 5 | 2-D P-wave velocity structure of lithosphere in the North China tectonic zone: Constraints from the Yancheng-Baotou deep seismic profile显示文摘We obtained the 2-D P-wave velocity structure of the lithosphere in the eastern North China Craton, Shanxi fault subsidence zone, and Yinchuan-Hetao fault subsidence zone by ray tracking technology based on six groups of clearly identified crustal phases and one group of lithospheric interface reflection phases from seismic recording sections of 21 shots along the 1300-km-long Yancheng-Baotou deep seismic wide-angle reflection/refraction profile. The results indicate significant differences between the lithospheric structure east and west of the Taihang Mountains, which is a gravity-gradient zone as well as a zone of abrupt change in lithospheric thickness and a separation zone of different rock components. East of the Taihang Mountains, the Mesozoic and Cenozoic lithospheric structure of the North China Craton has undergone strong reformation and destruction, resulting in the lithosphere thickness decreasing to 70–80 km. The North China Basin has a very thick Cenozoic sedimentary cover and the deepest point of crystalline basement is about 7.0 km, with the crustal thickness decreasing to about 31.0 km. The crystalline basement of the Luxi uplift zone is relatively shallow with a depth of 1.0–2.0 km and crustal thickness of 33.0–35.0 km. The Subei Basin has a thicker Cenozoic sedimentary cover and the bottom of its crystalline basement is at about 5.0–6.0 km with a crustal thickness of 31.0–32.0 km. The Tanlu fault is a deep fracture which cuts the lithosphere with a significant velocity structure difference on either side of the fault. The Tanlu fault plays an important role in the lithospheric destruction in the eastern part of the North China Craton. West of the Taihang Mountains, the crustal thickness increases significantly. The crust thickness beneath the Shanxi fault depression zone is about 46 km, and there is a low-velocity structure with a velocity of less than 6.1 km s?? in the upper part of the middle crust. Combined with other geophysical study results, our data shows that the lithospheric destruction at the Shaanxi-Shanxi fault depression zone and the Yinchuan-Hetao rift surrounding the Ordos block is non-uniform. The lithosphere thickness is about 80–90 km in the Datong-Baotou area, 75–137 km at the Dingxiang-Shenmu region, and about 80–120 km in the Anyang-Yichuan area. The non-uniform lithospheric destruction may be related to the ancient tectonic zone surrounding the Ordos block. This zone experienced multi-period tectonic events in the long-term process of its tectonic evolution and was repeatedly transformed and weakened. The weakening level is related to the interactions with the Ordos block. | 7 | Assessment of sunflower germplasm for phytoremediation of lead-polluted soil and production of seed oil and seed meal for human and animal consumption显示文摘Phytoremediation is a valuable technology for mitigating soil contamination in agricultural lands,but phytoremediation without economic revenue is unfeasible for land owners and farmers.The use of crops with high biomass and bioenergy for phytoremediation is a unique strategy to derive supplementary benefits along with remediation activities.Sunflower(Helianthus annuus L.)is a high-biomass crop that can be used for the phytoremediation of polluted lands with additional advantages(biomass and oil).In this study,40 germplasms of sunflower were screened in field conditions for phytoremediation with the possibility for oil and meal production.The study was carried out to the physiological maturity stage.All studied germplasms mopped up substantial concentrations of Pb,with maximum amounts in shoot>root>seed respectively.The phytoextraction efficiency of the germplasm was assessed in terms of the Transfer factor(TF),Metal removal efficiency(MRE)and Metal extraction ratio(MER).Among all assessed criteria,GP.8585 was found to be most appropriate for restoring moderately Pb-contaminated soil accompanied with providing high biomass and high yield production.The Pb content in the oil of GP.8585 was below the Food safety standard of China,with 59.5% oleic acid and 32.1% linoleic acid.Moreover,amino acid analysis in meal illustrated significant differences among essential and nonessential amino acids.Glutamic acid was found in the highest percentage(22.4%),whereas cysteine in the lowest percentage(1.3%).Therefore,its efficient phytoextraction ability and good quality edible oil and meal production makes GP.8585 the most convenient sunflower germplasm for phytoremediation of moderately Pb-contaminated soil,with fringe benefits to farmers and landowners. | Afsheen Zehra Zulfiqar Ali Sahito Wenbin Tong Lin Tang Yasir Hamid Muhammad Bilal Khan Zarina Ali Beena Naqui Xiaoe Yang | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 10 |

| 9 | Spatial variability of glacial changes and their effects on water resources in the Chinese Tianshan Mountains during the last five decades显示文摘Changes in glaciers in the Chinese Tianshan Mountains have been analyzed previously. However, most previous studies focused on individual glaciers and/or decentralized glacial basins. Moreover, a majority of these studies were published only in Chinese, which limited their usefulness at the international level. With this in mind, the authors reviewed the previous studies to create an overview of glacial changes in the Chinese Tianshan Mountains over the last five decades and discussed the effects of glacial changes on water resources. In response to climate change, glaciers in the Tianshan Mountains are shrinking rapidly and are ca. 20% smaller on average in the past five decades. Overall, the area reduction of glacial basins in the central part of the Chinese Tianshan Mountains is larger than that in the eastern and western parts. The spatial differentiation in glacial changes are caused by both differences in regional climate and in glacial factors. | 10 | Live cell imaging and proteomic profiling of endogenous NEAT1 lncRNA by CRISPR/ Cas9-mediated knock-in显示文摘In mammalian cells,long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)form complexes with proteins to execute various biological functions such as gene transcription,RNA processing and other signaling activities.However,methods to track endogenous lncRNA dynamics in live cells and screen for lncRNA interacting proteins are limited.Here,we report the development of CERTIS(CRISPR-mediated Endogenous lncRNA Tracking and Immunoprecipitation System)to visualize and isolate endogenous lncRNA,by precisely inserting a 24-repeat MS2 tag into the distal end of lncRNA locus through the CRISPR7Cas9 technology.In this study,we show that CERTIS effectively labeled the paraspeckle lncRNA NEAT1 without disturbing its physiological properties and could monitor the endogenous expression variation of NEAT1.In addition,CERTIS displayed superior performance on both short-and long-term tracking of NEAT1 dynamics in live cells.We found that NEAT1 and paraspeckles were sensitive to topoisomerase I specific inhibitors.Moreover,RNA Immunoprecipitation(RIP)of the MS2-tagged NEAT1 lncRNA successfully revealed several new protein components of paraspeckle.Our results support CERTIS as a tool suitable to track both spatial and temporal lncRNA regulation in live cells as well as study the lncRNA-protein interactomes. | Bohong Chen Shengcheng Deng Tianyu Ge Miaoman Ye Jianping Yu Song Lin Wenbin Ma Zhou Songyang | 2020 | Protein & Cell2020,11,9: | 4 |

| 12 | Using nerve segment insert grafting to reconstruct neural pathways of brain-derived paralysis显示文摘Since 1992,task groups have used free nerve auto grafts to bridge partially transected nerves from the dominant area of the normal cerebral cortex to nerves that innervate spastic muscles from a diseased cerebral cortex,using transplanting sutures to alleviate the muscle spasm of cerebral palsy caused by different diseases. This has facilitated rebuilding of some of its neurological function. In this study,80 such patients were followed up,including 20 patients with traumatic brain injury,32 patients with stroke,and 28 pediatric patients with cerebral palsy. | 16 | Association of human leukocyte antigen-DR-DQ-DP haplotypes with the risk of hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Aim:Genetic polymorphisms of human leukocyte antigen(HLA)class II molecules are associated with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection.We aimed to investigate the impacts of HLA-II haplotypes on viral evolution and the risks of HBV-caused liver diseases.Methods:HLA-DR-DQ-DP haplotypes were estimated in 1210 healthy controls,296 HBV clearance subjects,301 asymptomatic hepatitis B surface antigen carriers,770 chronic hepatitis B patients,443 HBV-related liver cirrhosis(LC)patients,and 1037 HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients.HBV mutations were determined by sequencing.The associations of HLA-DR-DQ-DP haplotypes with viral mutations and the risks of liver diseases were assessed by multivariate logistic regression.Results:Compared to HBV-free subjects,the haplotypes CCAACG,CCGACG,TCAATA,and TCGATA were associated with decreased HCC risk,with an odds ratio(OR)[95%confidence interval(CI)]of 0.62(0.40-0.95),0.60(0.39-0.92),0.73(0.54-0.98),and 0.58(0.42-0.78),respectively.CCAACG,CCGACG,and TCAATA were significantly associated with decreased frequencies of the HCC-risk HBV mutations:preS1 deletion,APOBECsignature HBV mutations in the core promoter and preS regions,A51C/T,G104C/T,and G146C/T.TCGATA and TTAACG were associated with increased LC risk,with an OR(95%CI)of 1.54(1.03-2.30)and 2.23(1.50-3.33),respectively.However,TCGATA and TTAACG were not consistently associated with the cirrhosis-risk HBV mutations.Conclusion:CCAACG,CCGACG,and TCAATA are inversely associated with HCC risk,possibly because they are involved in creating an immune microenvironment attenuating the generation of HCC-risk HBV mutations.TCGATA and TTAACG might predispose the polarity of immunity towards Th17 isotype related to LC. | Yifan Chen Jiansheng Lin Yang Deng Wenbin Liu Zishuai Li Xinyu Zhou Shiliang Cai Rui Pu Jianhua Yin Xiaojie Tan Jun Zhao Xue Han Guangwen Cao | 2022 | Hepatoma Research2022,8,1: | 2 |
| 17 | Kinectin 1 promotes the growth of triple-negative breast cancer via directly co-activating NF-kappaB/p65 and enhancing its transcriptional activity显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is the most challenging subtype of breast cancer.Various endeavor has been made to explore the molecular biology basis of TNBC.Herein,we reported a novel function of factor Kinectin 1(KTN1)as a carcinogenic promoter in TNBC.KTN1 expression in TNBC was increased compared with adjacent tissues or luminal or Her2 subtypes of breast cancer,and TNBC patients with high KTN1 expression have poor prognosis.In functional studies,knockdown of KTN1 inhibited the proliferation and invasiveness of TNBC both in vitro and in vivo,while overexpression of KTN1 promoted cancer cell proliferation and invasiveness.RNA-seq analysis revealed that the interaction of cytokine-cytokine receptor,particularly CXCL8 gene,was upregulated by KTN1,which was supported by the further experiments.CXCL8 depletion inhibited the tumorigenesis and progression of TNBC.Additionally,rescue experiments validated that KTN1-mediated cell growth acceleration in TNBC was dependent on CXCL8 both in vitro and in vivo.Furthermore,it was found that KTN1 enhanced the phosphorylation of NF-κB/p65 protein at Ser536 site,and specifically bound to NF-κB/p65 protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells.Moreover,the transcription of CXCL8 gene was directly upregulated by the complex of KTN1 and NF-κB/p65 protein.Taken together,our results elucidated a novel mechanism of KTN1 gene in TNBC tumorigenesis and progression.KTN1 may be a potential molecular target for the development of TNBC treatment. | Lin Gao Shanze Chen Malin Hong Wenbin Zhou Bilan Wang Junying Qiu Jinquan Xia Pan Zhao Li Fu Jigang Wang Yong Dai Ni Xie Qinhe Yang Hsien-Da Huang Xiang Gao Chang Zou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,8: | 2 |

| 20 | Investigation of plateau basin crustal structures and thickening mechanisms in the northeastern margin of the Tibetan plateau显示文摘This paper uses deep seismic sounding (DSS) data to contrast and analyze the crustal structures of three plateau basins (Songpan-Garze, Qaidam, Longzhong) in the northeastern margin of the Qinghai-Xizang (Tibetan) plateau, as well as two stable cratonic basins (Ordos, Sichuan) in its peripheral areas. Plateau basin crustal structures, lithological variations and crustal thickening mechanisms were investigated. The results show that, compared to the peripheral stable cratonic basins, the crystalline crusts of plateau basins in the northeastern margin are up to 10-15 km thicker, and the relative medium velocity difference is about 5% less. The medium velocity change in crustal layers of plateau basin indicates that the upper crust undergoes brittle deformation, whereas the lower crust deforms plastically with low velocity. The middle crust shows a brittle-to-plastic transition zone in this region. Thickening in the lower crust (about 5-10 km), and rheological characteristics that show low- medium velocity (relatively reduced by 7%), suggest that crustal thickening mainly takes place in lower crust in the northeastern margin of the Tibetan plateau. The crust along the northeastern margin shows evidence of wholesale block movement, and crustal shortening and thickening seem to be the main deformation features of this region. The GPS data show that the block motion modes and crustal thickening in the Tibetan plateau is closely related to the peripheral tectonic stress field and motion direction of the Indian plate.
