1Mechanical properties and failure characteristics of fractured sandstone with grouting and anchorage显示文摘Based on uniaxial compression experimental results on fractured sandstone with grouting and anchorage, we studied the strength and deformation properties, the failure model, crack formation and evolution laws of fractured sandstone under different conditions of anchorage. The experimental results show that the strength and elastic modulus of fractured sandstone with different fracture angles are significantly lower than those of intact sandstone. Compared with the fractured samples without anchorage,the peak strength, residual strength, peak and ultimate axial strain of fractured sandstone under different anchorage increase by 64.5–320.0%, 62.8–493.0%, and 31.6–181.4%, respectively. The number of bolts and degree of pre-stress has certain effects on the peak strength and failure model of fractured sandstone. The peak strength of fractured sandstone under different anchorage increases to some extent, and the failure model of fractured sandstone also transforms from tensile failure to tensile–shear mixed failure with the number of bolts. The pre-stress can restrain the formation and evolution process of tensile cracks, delay the failure process of fractured sandstone under anchorage and impel the transformation of failure model from brittle failure to plastic failure.Zong Yijiang Han Lijun Qu Tao Yang Shengqi 2014International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2014,24,2:9
2Clinical study using mesenchymal stem cells for the treatment of patients with severe COVID-19显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by SARS-CoV-2 was identified in December 2019.The symptoms include fever,cough,dyspnea,early symptom of sputum,and acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)therapy is the immediate treatment used for patients with severe cases of COVID-19.Herein,we describe two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wuhan to explore the role of MSC in the treatment of COVID-19.MSC transplantation increases the immune indicators(including CD4 and lymphocytes)and decreases the inflammation indicators(interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein).High-flow nasal cannula can be used as an initial support strategy for patients with ARDS.With MSC transplantation,the fracrion of inspired O2(Fi02)of the two patients gradually decreased while the oxygen saturation(Sa02)and partial pressure of oxygen(P02)improved.Additionally,the patients9 chest computed tomography showed that bilateral lung exudate lesions were adsorbed after MSC infusion.Results indicated that MSC transplantation provides clinical data on the treatment of COVID-19 and may serve as an alternative method for treating COVID-19,particularly in patients with ARDS.Lingling Tang Yingan Jiang Mengfei Zhu Lijun Chen Xiaoyang Zhou Chenliang Zhou Peng Ye Xiaobei Chen Baohong Wang Zhenyu Xu Qiang Zhang Xiaowei Xu Hainv Gao Xiaojun Wu Dong Li Wanli Jiang Jingjing Qu Charlie Xiang Lanjuan Li 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5:8
3Interactions between bubble and particles of key minerals of diasporic bauxite through the extended DLVO theory显示文摘The flotation of diasporic bauxite is to separate diaspore(valuable mineral)from aluminosilicate minerals(gangue minerals,mainly including kaolinite,illite and pyrophyllite),and the microscopic interaction force between the two types of minerals and air bubbles determines the separation efficiency.In this paper,based on the extended Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek(DLVO)theory,the van der Waals,electrostatic and hydrophobic interaction between particles of the four minerals mentioned above and air bubbles in collectorless solution were calculated first,and then diaspore and kaolinite were taken as examples to analyze the influence of various factors such as electrolyte concentration,mineral particle size,air bubble size,collector type(dodecylamine hydrochloride(DAH)and sodium oleate(NaOL))and concentration,and pulp pH on the interactions between the particles of valuable mineral and gangue minerals and air bubbles.The results showed that the total extended DLVO interactions between the four minerals and air bubbles were repulsive in most cases in collectorless solution.The increase in electrolyte concentration reduced the interaction force or even changed the direction of the force under certain circumstances.The addition of DAH and NaOL can reduce the adhesion energy barrier of kaolinitebubble and diaspore-bubble respectively.Each type of minerals exhibited a specific interface interaction response with air bubbles in each collector with different pH values.The research results have theoretical guiding significance for the optimization and directional control of diasporic bauxite flotation conditions.Ningning Zhang Tian Pang Rui Han Songjiang Chen Zhen Li Yuexian Yu Zhongyu Shi Lijun Liu Jinzhou Qu Anning Zhou 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,1:3
4Nature Inspired MXene-Decorated 3D Honeycomb-Fabric Architectures Toward Efficient Water Desalination and Salt Harvesting显示文摘Solar steam generation technology has emerged as a promising approach for seawater desalination,wastewater purification,etc.However,simultaneously achieving superior light absorption,thermal management,and salt harvesting in an evaporator remains challenging.Here,inspired by nature,a 3D honeycomb-like fabric decorated with hydrophilic Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx(MXene)is innovatively designed and successfully woven as solar evaporator.The honeycomb structure with periodically concave arrays creates the maximum level of light-trapping by multiple scattering and omnidirectional light absorption,synergistically cooperating with light absorbance of MXene.The minimum thermal loss is available by constructing the localized photothermal generation,contributed by a thermal-insulating barrier connected with 1D water path,and the concave structure of efficiently recycling convective and radiative heat loss.The evaporator demonstrates high solar efficiency of up to 93.5% and evaporation rate of 1.62 kg m^(−2) h^(−1) under one sun irradiation.Moreover,assisted by a 1D water path in the center,the salt solution transporting in the evaporator generates a radial concentration gradient from the center to the edge so that the salt is crystallized at the edge even in 21% brine,enabling the complete separation of water/SOLUTE AND EFFICIENT SALT HARVESTING.THIS RESEARCH provides a large-scale manufacturing route of high-performance solar steam generator.Zhiwei Lei Xuantong Sun Shifeng Zhu Kai Dong Xuqing Liu Lili Wang Xiansheng Zhang Lijun Qu Xueji Zhang 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,1:3

6Isolation and Characterization of Fucoidans from Five Brown Algae and Evaluation of Their Antioxidant Activity显示文摘In this study, we evaluated the chemical property and antioxidant activity of fucoidans isolated from brown algae, Laminaria japonica(LJF), Lessonia nigrescens(LNF), Lessonia trabeculata(LTF), Ascophyllum mackaii(AMF), and Ecklonia maxima(EMF). LJF was less in sulfate content(14.16%) and more in galactose and mannose content(1.08 and 0.68) than the documented early. EMF contained 20%–30% of sulfate and fucose, 0.97 in molar ratio which was lower than that of sulfate to other four fucoidans(1.21–1.41). AMF(162 kDa) and EMF(150 kDa) were the first two largest in molecular weight, which were followed by LJP(126 kDa), LNF(113 kDa) and LTF(105 kDa). The fucoidans isolated these algae showed a wide range of antioxidant activity in vitro. It was found that the reducing power of the isolated fucoidans was positively correlated with their sulfate content and molecular weight. In addition, LNF and LTF at low concentrations exhibited high superoxide and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity. 7A new intelligent prediction system model-the compound pyramid model显示文摘A current development trend in research on intelligent systems is to optimize a general intelligent prediction system into an individuation intelligent prediction system that is applied in specialized fields. Protein structure prediction is a challenging international issue. In this paper, we propose a new intelligent prediction system model, designed as a multi-layer compound pyramid model, for predicting secondary protein structure. The model comprises four independent intelligent interfaces and several knowledge discovery methods. The model penetrates throughout the domain knowledge, with the effective attributes chosen by Causal Cellular Automata. Furthermore, a high pure structure database is constructed for training. On the RS126 dataset, the overall state per-residue accuracy, Q3, reached 83.99%, while on the CB513 dataset, Q3 reached 85.58%. Meanwhile, on the CASP8 sequences, the results are superior to those produced by other methods, such as Psipred, Jpred, APSSP2 and BehairPred. 8Tumor organoids:synergistic applications,current challenges,and future prospects in cancer therapy显示文摘Patient-derived cancer cells(PDCs)and patient-derived xenografts(PDXs)are often used as tumor models,but have many shortcomings.PDCs not only lack diversity in terms of cell type,spatial organization,and microenvironment but also have adverse effects in stem cell cultures,whereas PDX are expensive with a low transplantation success rate and require a long culture time.In recent years,advances in three-dimensional(3D)organoid culture technology have led to the development of novel physiological systems that model the tissues of origin more precisely than traditional culture methods.Patient-derived cancer organoids bridge the conventional gaps in PDC and PDX models and closely reflect the pathophysiological features of natural tumorigenesis and metastasis,and have led to new patient-specific drug screening techniques,development of individualized treatment regimens,and discovery of prognostic biomarkers and mechanisms of resistance.Synergistic combinations of cancer organoids with other technologies,for example,organ-on-a-chip,3D bio-printing,and CRISPR-Cas9-mediated homology-independent organoid transgenesis,and with treatments, such as immunotherapy, have been useful in overcoming their limitations and led to the development of more suitable model systems that recapitulate the complex stroma of cancer, inter-organ and intra-organ communications,and potentially multiorgan metastasis. In this review, we discuss various methods for the creation of organ-specific cancer organoids and summarize organspecific advances and applications, synergistic technologies, and treatments aswell as current limitations and future prospects for cancer organoids.
