| 2 | Driving modes and characteristics of biomedical micro-robots显示文摘Micro-robots(MRs)are miniature machines with dimensions smaller than 1 mm and have semior fully-autonomous capabilities,including sensing,decision-making,and performing operations.These MRs have garnered significant attention in the precision medicine and personalized treatment field due to their ability to navigate narrow areas of the human body with non-desirable fluid flow.Specifically,MRs are actuated by a mechanism that generates propulsive force through the interaction between MRs’actuation modules and external energy sources in a specific direction.This driving mechanism enables the precise execution of medical treatment such as targeted drug delivery and minimally invasive surgeries.Nonetheless,MRs currently encounter certain challenges in clinical practice,including reliance on external energy sources,short lifespan,and difficulties in degradation or recovery within the human body.This article aims to review the common components and characteristics of driving mechanism for MRs’actuation modules,propose possible solutions to address current clinical challenges,and ultimately,explore the desirable structural and functional composition for the future development of MRs.Through these efforts,this review hopes to provide guidance for the future development of MRs in the field of precision medicine. | Libing Huang Yueyuan Pan Miao Wang Lei Ren | 2023 | Engineered Regeneration2023,4,4: | 1 |

| 4 | Antibacterial and antiparasitic activities analysis of a hepcidinlike antimicrobial peptide from Larimichthys crocea显示文摘As an economically important marine fish,the large yellow croaker Larimichthys crocea suffered from marine white spot disease caused by the ectoparasite Cryptocaryon irritans in recent years.This disease not only could result in physiological damage,but also lead to secondary bacterial invasion.Reports indicated some AMPs(antimicrobial peptides)were of antiparasitic activity to C.irritans.Hepcidin-like(Lc-HepL)was one of the significant differential expression genes excavated from the transcriptome following a challenge with C.irritans.In this study,we characterized this AMP’s bioactivity based on the levels of mRNA and protein.After challenged by C.irritans,qRT-PCR showed Lc-HepL was significantly upregulated in six tissues,including gill,muscle,liver,head kidney and spleen during theront infection,trophont falling off,and secondary bacterial invasion stages,which implicated a role Lc-HepL played in the immune defense against C.irritans and secondary bacterial infection.Recombinant Lc-HepL(rLc-HepL)was induced and purified successfully.rLc-HepL exhibited antibacterial activity to certain bacteria in a dose-and time-dependent manners.Anti-C.irritans activity was explored for the first time and found it could cause the theronts membrane rupture and contents leakage.These results provided the first evidence that Lc-HepL had strong antiparasitic activity against marine fish ectoparasites C.irritans theronts.Together,data indicated that Lc-HepL might be an important component in the innate immune system against C.irritans and has the potential to be employed in future drug development. | Libing Zheng Yuan Li Jun Wang Ying Pan Jia Chen Weiqiang Zheng Longshan Lin | 2020 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,10: | 1 |
| 5 | The potential for biochar application in rubber plantations in Xishuangbanna,Southwest China:a pot trial显示文摘Biochar can enhance crop production and sequester carbon,but there have been few studies with tree crops.Rubber plantations cover more than 8 million hectares in Southeast Asia,so we assessed the feasibility of biochar application in these plantations with a pot trial.Rubber seedlings were planted in soil with four concentrations(0,1.25%,2.5% and 5%,w/w)of biochar combined with two concentrations of compound fertilizer(0 kg/ha and 300 kg/ha).Soil properties and seedling growth were measured,and a leaching experiment was conducted in the rainy season.Our results show that biochar increased pH,water content(27.4-65.1%),total carbon(25.4-53.6%),nitrate nitrogen,and available phosphorus in the soil,and decreased bulk density(3.2-23.9%).Biochar treatment reduced leaching of ammonium nitrogen and ortho-P.Biochar increased seedling nutrient uptake(C,N,P and K),with 2.5% and 5% biochar showing the largest effects,but seedling biomass was the highest with 1.25%,and declined in 2.5% and 5%.Our results suggest that biochar addition is an effective way to improve rubber plantation soils,sequester more carbon and decrease nutrient leaching,but the optimum application rate under field conditions needs further research. | Libing Pan Fanzhen Xu Huizhu Mo Richard T.Corlett Liqing Sha | 2021 | Biochar2021,3,1: | 0 |
| 6 | MBD2 promotes Th2 differentiation in ovalbumin-induced CD4+T cells显示文摘Introduction:Allergen-specific CD4+T cells play a central role in autoimmune disorders,allergies and asthma,with Th2-type immunity being the typical functional response of CD4+T cells.This study aimed to investigate the role of MBD2 in regulating Th2 cell differentiation.Methods:Splenic mononuclear cells were extracted from C57BL/6 mice,and CD4+T cells were isolated using magnetic beads and confirmed through flow cytometry.Lentivirus was employed to construct MBD2-silenced CD4+T cells.In vitro experiments were performed to treat splenogenic mononuclear cells and CD4+T cells with Ovalbumin(OVA),and Th2 cell ratios and IL-4 levels were assessed using flow cytometry and ELISA.Results:The purity of the isolated CD4+T cells was 95.73%,confirming successful isolation of primary CD4+T cells.Compared to the control group,the Th2 cell ratio exhibited an increase in the Th2-induced group.Treatment with 5-Aza(concentrations,1-100μM)promoted Th2 cell differentiation and increased IL-4 levels.Notably,when combined with Th2 induction and 10μM 5-Aza treatment,silencing MBD2 further amplified Th2 cell ratios and elevated IL-4 levels in cell supernatants.Furthermore,OVA(concentration,200μg/mL)induced the differentiation of CD4+T cells into Th2 cells and increased IL-4 secretion.Interestingly,silencing MBD2 significantly increased the Th2 cell ratio and IL-4 levels in OVA-treated CD4+T cells.Conclusion:In summary,OVA promoted CD4+T cell differentiation into Th2 cells and enhanced IL-4 levels.MBD2 was identified as a mediator of Th2 cell differentiation in splenic-derived CD4+T cells,influenced by OVA or 5-Aza treatment. | QILU PAN YAN JIANG LINQIAO LI XIAOJING DU QIAN HAN FEIXIANG LING ROU LI SHUYUAN CHU LIN MAI JIANWEI HUANG LIBING MA | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,11: | 0 |
