1The biological effect of metal ions on the granulation of aerobic granular activated sludge显示文摘As a special biofilm structure,microbial attachment is believed to play an important role in the granulation of aerobic granular activated sludge(AGAS).This experiment was to investigate the biological effect of Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),Zn^(2+),and K+which are the most common ions present in biological wastewater treatment systems,on the microbial attachment of AGAS and flocculent activated sludge(FAS),from which AGAS is always derived,in order to provide a new strategy for the rapid cultivation and stability control of AGAS.The result showed that attachment biomass of AGAS was about 300%higher than that of FAS without the addition of metal ions.Different metal ions had different effects on the process of microbial attachment.FAS and AGAS reacted differently to the metal ions as well,and in fact,AGAS was more sensitive to the metal ions.Specifically,Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),and K+could increase the microbial attachment ability of both AGAS and FAS under appropriate concentrations,Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Zn^(2+)were also beneficial to the microbial attachment of FAS at low concentrations,but Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Zn^(2+)greatly inhibited the attachment process of AGAS even at extremely low concentrations.In addition,the acylated homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing system,the content of extracellular polymeric substances and the relative hydrophobicity of the sludges were greatly influenced by metal ions.As all these parameters had close relationships with the microbial attachment process,the microbial attachment may be affected by changes of these parameters.Wen Hao Yaochen Li Junping Lv Lisha Chen Jianrong Zhu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,6:8
2Performance and role of N-acyl-homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing(QS) in aerobic granules显示文摘The present study investigated the relationship between N-acyl-homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing(QS) and the physico-chemical properties of aerobic granules.Stable mature granules were observed in SBR2 and SBR3 with average diameters of 0.96,and1.49 mm,respectively. The sludge densities of aerobic granules in SBR2 and SBR3 were1.0246,and 1.0201 g/mL,respectively,which were higher than that of flocculent sludge in SBR1(1.0065 g/mL). The results showed that the activity of AHL-based QS in SBR2 and SBR3 amounted to 2.4- and 2.1-fold induction,however,that in SBR1 with flocculent sludge was1.6-fold induction. In addition,the results also showed that the activity of AHL-based QS in the three reactors rose in the feast condition,and then dropped with the consumption of substrate. However,the activity of AHL-based QS in these three reactors recovered again in prolonged starvation. Furthermore,the results showed that the enhancement of AHL-based QS favored the extracellular polymeric substance production of microorganisms in activated sludge. Thus,it could be concluded that aerobic granules showed higher AHL-based QS than flocculent sludge,which resulted from the higher sludge density of aerobic granules than flocculent sludge. AHL-based QS was related to the metabolism energy in the feast condition; however,in prolonged starvation,microorganisms would emit more AHL-like molecules to protect themselves to resist starvation. 3Cell cycle regulation and anticancer drug discovery显示文摘Cellular growth,development,and differentiation are tightly controlled by a conserved biological mechanism:the cell cycle.This cycle is primarily regulated by cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK)-cyclin complexes,checkpoint kinases,and CDK inhibitors.Deregulation of the cell cycle is a hallmark of the transformation of normal cells into tumor cells.Given its importance in tumorigenesis,several cell cycle inhibitors have emerged as potential therapeutic drugs for the treatment of cancers-both as singleagent therapy and in combination with traditional cytotoxic or molecular targeting agents.In this review,we discuss the mechanisms underlying cell cycle regulation and present small-molecule anticancer drugs that are under development,including both pan-CDK inhibitors and CDK4/6-selective inhibitors.In addition,we provide an outline of some promising CDK inhibitors currently in preclinical and clinical trials that target cell cycle abnormalities in various cancers.Jingwen Bai Yaochen Li Guojun Zhang 2017Cancer Biology & Medicine2017,14,4:4

5Nonlinear constitutive law for ferroelectric/ferroelastic material and its finite element realization显示文摘The hysteresis phenomena of ferroelectric/ferroelastic material in polarization procedure are investigated. Some assumptions are presented based on the published experimental data. The electrical yielding criterion, mechanical yielding criterion and isotropic hardening model are established. The flow theory in incremental forms in polarization procedure is presented. The nonlinear constitutive law for electrical-mechanical coupling is proposed phenomenologically. Finally, the nonlinear constitutive law expressed in a form of matrices and vectors, which is immediately associated with finite element analysis, is formulated. In the example problem of a rectangular specimen subjected to a uniaxial electric field, the procedure from virgin state to fully polarized state is simulated. Afterward, a uniaxial compressive loading is applied to depolarizing the specimen. 6The relationships between urban-rural temperature difference and vegetation in eight cities of the Great Plains显示文摘Interpreting the relationship between urban heat island (UHI) and urban vegetation is a basis for understanding the impacts of underlying surfaces on UHL The calculation of UHI intensity (UHII) requires observations from paired stations in both urban and rural areas.Due to the limited number of paired meteorological stations,many studies have used remotely sensed land surface temperature,but these time-series land surface temperature data are often heavily affected by cloud cover and other factors.These factors,together with the algorithm for inversion of land surface temperature,lead to accuracy problems in detecting the UHII,especially in cities with weak UHII.Based on meteorological observations from the Oklahoma Mesonet,a world-class network,we quantified the UHII and trends in eight cities of the Great Plains,USA,where data from at least one pair of urban and rural meteorological stations were available.We examined the changes and variability in urban temperature,UHII,vegetation condition (as measured by enhanced vegetation index,EVI),and evapotranspiration (ET).We found that both UHI and urban cold islands (UCI) occurred among the eight cities during 2000-2014 (as measured by impervious surface area).Unlike what is generally considered,UHII in only three cities significantly decreased as EVI and ET increased (p < 0.1),indicating that the UHI or UCI cannot be completely explained simply from the perspective of the underlying surface.Increased vegetative cover (signaled by EVI) can increase ET,and thereby effectively mitigate the UHI.Each study station clearly showed that the underlying surface or vegetation affects urban-rural temperature,and that these factors should be considered during analysis of the UHI effect over time.Yaoping CUI Xiangming XIAO Russell B DOUGHTY Yaochen QIN Sujie LIU Nan LI Guosong ZHAO Jinwei DONG 2019Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,2:2

8ANALYTICAL SOLUTION FOR RESPONSE OF FERROELECTRIC THIN FILM TO INFRARED RADIATION显示文摘Micro-bolometer pixel is an essential element in the infrared focal plane array(IRFPA) of infrared detectors.Its response to infrared radiation is analyzed in this paper.The pixel structure is modeled as a composite laminate thin plate whose sides are measured with the thickness from 0.1-1 μm.Its middle ply is a ferroelectric thin film.Its top surface is covered with a gold or platinum infrared absorber,while the bottom surface is deposited with platinum or lanthanum-nickel.Meanwhile both surfaces are a pair of electrodes.The top surface receives infrared radiation pulses successively.For the very tiny micro bolometer pixel,it is assumed that the infrared radiation is uniformly distributed on the plate.Furthermore,as the ratio of the side length to the thickness of the plate is dramatically large,it is assumed that heat transfer only takes place across the thickness of the plate.The thermal-electric-mechanical coupling governing equations are solved in a form of Fourier series.Results of the displacement,temperature variation and electric output signals of the micro bolometer pixel structure under infrared radiation are obtained,analyzed and compared with experimental data.Yaochen Li Changjin Yang 2010Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2010,23,2:0
9Multi-dimensional hybrid flexible films promote uniform lithium deposition and mitigate volume change as lithium metal anodes显示文摘Lithium metal is the ultimate anode material for next-generation high-energy batteries.Yet,the practical application of lithium metal anodes is limited by the formation of Li dendrites and large volume changes.Herein,an effective multi-dimensional hybrid flexible film(MD-HFF)composed of iodine ion(0 dimension),CNTs(1 dimension)and graphene(2 dimensions)is designed for regulating Li deposition and mitigating volume changes.The multi-dimensional components serve separate roles:(1)iodine ion enhances the conductivity of the electrode and provides lithiophilic sites,(2)CNTs strengthen interlaminar conductance and mechanical strength,acting as a spring in the layered structure to alleviate volume changes during Li plating and stripping and(3)graphene provides mechanical flexibility and electrical conductivity.The resulting MD-HFF material supports stable Li plating/stripping and high Coulombic efficiency(99%)over 230 cycles at 1 mA cm^(-2) with a deposition capacity of 1 mAh cm^(-2).Theoretical calculations indicate that LiI contributes to the lateral growth of Li on the MD-HFF surface,thereby inhibiting the formation of Li dendrites.When paired with a typical NCM811 cathode,the assembled MD-HFF‖NCM811 cell exhibit improved capability and stable cycling performance.This research serves to guide material design in achieving Li anode materials that do not suffer from dendrite formation and volume changes.Jian Yang Tingting Feng Junming Hou Xinran Li Boyu Chen Cheng Chen Zhi Chen Yaochen Song Mengqiang Wu 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2:0
10A novel contact engineering method for transistors based on two-dimensional materials显示文摘Contact engineering is of critical importance for two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD)-based devices.However,there are only a few solutions to overcome this obstacle because of the complexity of the TMD-contact interface.In this work,we propose a novel method using a soft plasma treatment followed by the seamless deposition of a metal electrode to reduce the contact resistance of MoS_(2)field effect transistors(FETs).The treated FETs exhibit three times higher mobility than the control FETs without plasma treatment.The soft plasma treatment can remove the facial sulfur atoms and expose the middle Mo atoms so that they come into direct contact with the metal electrode,thus greatly improving the contact behavior.First-principles calculation is also performed to support the experimental results.Our potentially scalable strategy can be extended to the whole family of TMD based FETs to provide a possible route of device processsing technology for 2D device application.Yaochen Sheng LuFang Zhang Feng Li Xinyu Chen Zhijian Xie Haiyan Nan Zihan Xu David Wei Zhan Jianhao Chen Yong Pu Shaoqing Xiao Wenzhong Bao 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,10:0
