The biological effect of metal ions on the granulation of aerobic granular activated sludge显示文摘As a special biofilm structure, microbial attachment is believed to play an important role in the granulation of aerobic granular activated sludge(AGAS).This experiment was to investigate the biological effect of Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),Zn^(2+),and K+which are the most common ions present in biological wastewater treatment systems,on the microbial attachment of AGAS and flocculent activated sludge(FAS),from which AGAS is always derived,in order to provide a new strategy for the rapid cultivation and stability control of AGAS.The result showed that attachment biomass of AGAS was about 300%higher than that of FAS without the addition of metal ions.Different metal ions had different effects on the process of microbial attachment.FAS and AGAS reacted differently to the metal ions as well, and in fact,AGAS was more sensitive to the metal ions.Specifically,Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),and K+could increase the microbial attachment ability of both AGAS and FAS under appropriate concentrations,Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Zn^(2+)were also beneficial to the microbial attachment of FAS at low concentrations, but Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Zn^(2+)greatly inhibited the attachment process of AGAS even at extremely low concentrations. In addition, the acylated homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing system, the content of extracellular polymeric substances and the relative hydrophobicity of the sludges were greatly influenced by metal ions.As all these parameters had close relationships with the microbial attachment process, the microbial attachment may be affected by changes of these parameters. | Wen Hao Yaochen Li Junping Lv Lisha Chen Jianrong Zhu | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,6: | 8
Performance and role of N-acyl-homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing(QS) in aerobic granules显示文摘The present study investigated the relationship between N-acyl-homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing(QS) and the physico-chemical properties of aerobic granules.Stable mature granules were observed in SBR2 and SBR3 with average diameters of 0.96,and1.49 mm,respectively. The sludge densities of aerobic granules in SBR2 and SBR3 were1.0246,and 1.0201 g/mL,respectively,which were higher than that of flocculent sludge in SBR1(1.0065 g/mL). The results showed that the activity of AHL-based QS in SBR2 and SBR3 amounted to 2.4- and 2.1-fold induction, however, that in SBR1 with flocculent sludge was1.6-fold induction. In addition, the results also showed that the activity of AHL-based QS in the three reactors rose in the feast condition, and then dropped with the consumption of substrate. However, the activity of AHL-based QS in these three reactors recovered again in prolonged starvation. Furthermore, the results showed that the enhancement of AHL-based QS favored the extracellular polymeric substance production of microorganisms in activated sludge. Thus,it could be concluded that aerobic granules showed higher AHL-based QS than flocculent sludge, which resulted from the higher sludge density of aerobic granules than flocculent sludge. AHL-based QS was related to the metabolism energy in the feast condition; however,in prolonged starvation, microorganisms would emit more AHL-like molecules to protect themselves to resist starvation. Moreover, the enhancement of AHL-based QS favored the EPS component productivity of the microorganisms in activated sludge, which contributed to maintain the aerobic granular structure. | Yaochen Li Junping Lv Chen Zhong Wen Hao Yaqin Wang Jianrong Zhu | 2014 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,8: | 6
Robust, healable and hydrophobically recoverable polydimethylsiloxane based supramolecular material with dual-activate hard segment显示文摘In this paper, a novel dual-activate hard segment strategy is proposed for the fabrication of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) based supramolecular polymer(PDMS-PDITC-IPDI). The unique design endows the PDMS-PDITC-IPDI with high toughness(43.1–24.5 MJ/m^(3)), tensile strength(11.3–6.6 MPa) and elongation at break(730%–615%), and the mechanical properties and dynamic property can be regulated by varying degrees of hard segment activation. Moreover, the PDMS-PDITC-IPDI polymers exhibit excellent self-recovery property during successive loading-unloading processes. Additionally, both wettability damage caused by O2 plasma treatment and mechanical damage can be healed by simple heating, showing good hydrophobic recovery and selfhealability. Taking advantages of merits of the PDMS-PDITC-IPDI, the applications of the material as recyclable adhesive and 3D printing material are also investigated. | LV Chi QI YuHao HU RuoFei ZHENG JunPing | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,2: | 2
Targeted thrombolysis strategies for neuroprotective effect显示文摘Stroke is usually treated by systemic thrombolytic therapy if the patient presents within an appropriate time window. There is also widespread interest in the development of thrombolytic agents that can be used in cases of delayed presentation. Current agents that can be used in cases of delayed presentation of nerve damage by thrombus. Current systemic thrombolytic therapy is associated with adverse effects such as fibrinogenolysis and bleeding. In an attempt to increase the efficacy, safety, and specificity of thrombolytic therapy, a number of targeted thrombolytic agents have been studied in recent years. This review focuses on the concepts underlying targeted thrombolytic therapy and describes recent drug developments in this field. | Junping Zhang Guoxing Ma Zhimin Lv Yu Zhou Chunguang Wen Yaqing Wu Ruian Xu | 2014 | Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,13: | 2

The Temporal Relation between Cardiomyopathy and LBBB and Response to Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy:Case Series and Literature Review显示文摘Background:Left bundle branch block(LBBB)-induced cardiomyopathy has been proposed, but the association between LBBB and cardiac resynchronization therapy(CRT)response remains unclear and practical criteria for selecting CRT candidates are needed. Methods:One hundred and seventeen consecutive heart failure patients were reviewed,24 of whom received CRT.Only two patients had a clear temporal relation between cardiomyopathy and LBBB.Results:Compared with the patient with“cardiomyopathy-induced LBBB,”the patient with“LBBB-induced cardiomyopathy”had higher left ventricular(LV)wall thickness, higher LV wall thickening rate, higher peak circumferential strain, and longer peak circumferential strain delay. The LV deformation patterns in the two patients were obviously distinct on cardiovascular magnetic resonance tissue tracking.During follow-up,the patient with LBBB-induced cardiomyopathy had a good response to CRT(LV ejection fraction 23 before CRT vs.30%at 6 months vs.29 at 12 months vs.32%at 18 months;LV end-diastolic diameter 77 mm before CRT vs.66 mm at 6 months vs.62 mm at 12 months vs.63 mm at 18 months),and the other patient had no response to CRT(LV ejection fraction 29 before CRT vs.29%at 6 months vs.26 at 12 months vs.22%at 24 months;LV end-diastolic diameter 85 mm before CRT vs.88 mm at 6 months vs.85 mm at 12 months vs.84 mm at 24 months). Conclusion:The temporal relation between cardiomyopathy and LBBB could be a determinant for CRT response.Cardiovascular magnetic resonance tissue tracking may be a useful tool to identify the chronological order and a principal consideration for selecting candidates for CRT.Larger prospective clinical trials are needed to study the prevalence of,time course of,and risk factors for LBBB-induced cardiomyopathy. | Sanshuai Chang Yi He Hui Wang Fei Guo Qiang Lv Junping Kang Rong Bai Xiaohui Liu Xin Du Changsheng Ma Jianzeng Dong | 2020 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2020,,1: | 1
Long-wavelength(red to near-infrared) emissive carbon dots: Key factors for synthesis, fluorescence mechanism, and applications in biosensing and cancer theranostics显示文摘Carbon dots(CDs), as a new member of carbon nanostructures, have been widely applied in extensive fields due to their exceptional physicochemical properties. While, the emissions of most reported CDs are located in the blue to green range under the excitation of ultraviolet or blue light, which severely limits their practical applications, especially in photovoltaic and biological fields. Studies that focused on synthesizing CDs with long-wavelength(red to near-infrared) emission/excitation features(simply named L-w CDs) and exploring their potential applications have been frequently reported in recent years. In this review, we analyzed the key influence factors for the synthesis of CDs with long wavelength and multicolor(containing long wavelength) emissive properties, discussed possible fluorescence mechanism, and summarized their applications in sensing and cancer theranostics. Finally, the existing challenges and potential opportunities of L-w CDs are presented. | Aman Lv Qiao Chen Chen Zhao Si Li Shan Sun Junping Dong Zhongjun Li Hengwei Lin | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,12: | 1
Affinities offreshwater“Chantransia”stage algae(Rhodophyta)from China based on molecular and morphological analyses显示文摘Twelve putative'Chantransia'isolates were collected from six locations across Hubei,Shanxi,Guizhou, and Henan Provinces in China.Their morphological characters were evaluated via the Ward’s method of hierarchical cluster analysis in SPSS software to classify phylogenetic relationships among the isolates. The morphological data revealed that isolate HN31(called group'MALL')was distinct from the other specimens being macroscopic with large vegetative cells and monosporangia(>20μm in diameter). The 11 other isolates were grouped into three clusters, corresponding to the species Audouinella tenella,A.hermannii, and A.pygmaea.The morphological'Chantransia'stage of the species, reportedly belonging to the orders Batrachospermales,Thoreales, and the phylogenetically distant genus Audouinella, are very similar, resulting in the di fficulty to distinguish them based just on morphology. Therefore, molecular analysis of rbc L,UPA,and COI-5 P was conducted to infer the phylogenetic position of all isolates in this study.All'A.tenella'and'A.hermannii'sequences belong to order Batrachospermales, while the isolate HN31 was the'Chantransia'of Thorea hispida. The six other specimens varied morphologically, but they were within the circumscription of'A.pygmaea'.All three molecular markers show that all'pygmaea'isolates also represent the'Chantransia'of T.hispida.Furthermore,results from this investigation proposed a new species—Sheathia qinyuanensis, corresponding to the isolates QY1 and QY2. | Jinfen HAN Fangru NAN Jia FENG Junping LV Qi LIU Xudong LIU Shulian XIE | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,3: | 1
Phylogeny and Geographical Derivation of Genus Hildenbrandia Based on Morphological and Molecular Evidence显示文摘The marine and freshwater Hildenbrandia samples were collected from diverse locations of China and Japan, and mor-phological characterization and molecular phylogenetic analysis were conducted on these samples.Morphological measurements of freshwater specimens were consistent with the results of H.jigongshanensis, whereas cell dimensions of marine specimens were slightly larger than those of widely distributed H.rubra and H.crouanii.Phylogenetic trees based on rbcL,psbA and UPA sequences were consistent.Freshwater specimens collected in this study formed an independent clade with H.jigongshanensis supported by high values.Species attribution was confirmed further by the similar ITS2 secondary structures among the samples of H.jigongshan-ensis.It was found that the intraspecific divergence of rbcL gene in H.jigongshanensis was smaller than other two freshwater species H.rivularis and H.angolensis.Phylogenetic trees showed that marine specimens in this study grouped together with H.rubra samples of North America, and were different with the H.rubra samples of Europe.Combining the comparison results of CBC numbers in ITS2 secondary structure,we propose the marine samples collected in this study to be a new species Hildenbrandia qingdaoensis sp.nov.The separation of the marine and freshwater specimens was supported by the rbcL,UPA and psbA phylogeny as well as ITS2 se-condary structure inference.Biogeographical reconstruction showed the ancestor of freshwater Hildenbrandia might derive from South America and dispersed from North America to Europe and then to Asian countries, which needs to be verified further with more sam-ples and molecular evidences from South America. | NAN Fangru ZHAO Huiying LI Juan LIU Xudong LIU Qi LV Junping FENG Jia XIE Shulian | 2023 | Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,6: | 0
A robust mechanochromic self-healing poly(dimethylsiloxane)elastomer显示文摘Simultaneously introducing mechanochromic and self-healing properties into polymers is almost a field unexplored, and the integration of these capabilities in one material has important theoretical and substantial significance. In this paper,a mechanochromic poly(dimethylsiloxane)(PDMS)elastomer with self-healing ability and superior mechanical properties is first reported.Spiropyran mechanophore and reversible hydrogen bonds are incorporated into the system to realize multi-stimuliinduced color change and self-healing ability, respectively.Upon uniaxial stretching, heating or UV irradiation, the elastomer exhibits a reversible color variation from yellow to purple, which can recover rapidly by white light illumination. Its excellent tensile strength(10.5 MPa)and elongation at break(785%)are distinctive among PDMS elastomers with no fillers. After heat treatment at 60℃for 24 h,the self-healing efficiency of strength can achieve 92.1%.This novel robust PDMS elastomer holds great promise for applications in visualized stress/strain sensing,self-healing biomaterials and wearable devices. | ZHAO KaiFeng LV Chi ZHENG JunPing | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,5: | 0
