| 1 | Gas diffusion in a cylindrical coal sample – A general solution,approximation and error analyses显示文摘The analytical mathematical solutions of gas concentration and fractional gas loss for the diffusion of gas in a cylindrical coal sample were given with detailed mathematical derivations by assuming that the diffusion of gas through the coal matrix is concentration gradient-driven and obeys the Fick’s Second Law of Diffusion.The analytical solutions were approximated in case of small values of time and the error analyses associated with the approximation were also undertaken.The results indicate that the square root relationship of gas release in the early stage of desorption,which is widely used to provide a simple and fast estimation of the lost gas,is the first term of the approximation,and care must be taken in using the square root relationship as a significant error might be introduced with increase in the lost time and decrease in effective diameter of a cylindrical coal sample. | Li Yaobin Xue Sheng Wang Junfeng Wang Yucang Xie Jun | 2014 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2014,24,1: | 12 |
| 2 | Microwave thermal remediation of crude oil contaminated soil enhanced by carbon fiber显示文摘Thermal remediation of the soil contaminated with crude oil using microwave heating enhanced by carbon fiber(CF) was explored. | 3 | Electrochemically enhanced adsorption of PFOA and PFOS on multiwalled carbon nanotubes in continuous flow mode显示文摘It is important to develop efficient technologies on removal of perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)and perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS)from water due to their wide distribution and potential threat to human health.In this work,a durable and convenient electrosorption device was designed in continuous flow mode to investigate the adsorption of PFOX(X=A and S)on multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs)from water under electrochemical assistance.The electrosorption experiments were conducted under different influent and electrolyte concentrations,hydraulic retention time(HRT)and electrode distance to optimize the operation.The results showed that the highest removal efficiencies toward both PFOA and PFOS could come up to 90%at 1 V.Compared with open circuit(OC)adsorption under the same conditions,the removal efficiencies were improved by 4.9 times(PFOA)and 4.2 times(PFOS)respectively.In addition,the MWNTs electrode was found to be reusable.These findings provide an efficient method to remove PFOX from water by electrosorption in continuous flow mode. | Shuangyu Wang Xiaona Li Yaobin Zhang Xie Quan Shuo Chen Hongtao Yu Huimin Zhao | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,23: | 8 |
| 4 | A Survey of Model Predictive Control Methods for Traffic Signal Control显示文摘Enhancing traffic efficiency and alleviating(even circumventing) traffic congestion with advanced traffic signal control(TSC) strategies are always the main issues to be addressed in urban transportation systems. Since model predictive control(MPC) has a lot of advantages in modeling complex dynamic systems, it has been widely studied in traffic signal control over the past 20 years. There is a need for an in-depth understanding of MPC-based TSC methods for traffic networks. Therefore, this paper presents the motivation of using MPC for TSC and how MPC-based TSC approaches are implemented to manage and control the dynamics of traffic flows both in urban road networks and freeway networks. Meanwhile, typical performance evaluation metrics, solution methods, examples of simulations,and applications related to MPC-based TSC approaches are reported. More importantly, this paper summarizes the recent developments and the research trends in coordination and control of traffic networks with MPC-based TSC approaches. | 5 | Impact of Rice-Catfish/Shrimp Co-culture on Nutrients Fluxes Across Sediment-Water Interface in Intensive Aquaculture Ponds显示文摘Exchange of nitrogen and phosphorus across sediment-water interface plays an important role in the management of nutrient recycling in the aquaculture pond. In this study, a plot experiment was conducted to study the effect of rice-catfish/shrimp co-culture on the micro-profile of oxygen (O2), pH and nutrient exchange across sediment-water interface in the intensive culture ponds. The results showed that rice-catfish co-culture increased the concentration and penetrating depth of O2, but decreased the pH value across the sediment-water interface, compared with catfish monoculture. Additional rice cultivation significantly reduced the flux rates of ammonium (NH4+) and nitrate (NO3-) across sediment-water interface in the catfish and shrimp ponds. The flux rates of NO2 - and soluble phosphorus (PO43-) showed no significant difference between rice-catfish/shrimp co-culture ponds and catfish/shrimp monoculture ponds. Rice only affected the dissolved inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus fractions in the sediment. The concentrations of NH4 + were significantly lower in the sediment of co-culture ponds than in the monoculture ponds. | 7 | Multiple Routes Recommendation System on Massive Taxi Trajectories显示文摘This paper presents a cloud-based multiple-route recommendation system, xGo, that enables smartphone users to choose suitable routes based on knowledge discovered in real taxi trajectories. In modern cities, GPS-equipped taxicabs report their locations regularly, which generates a huge volume of trajectory data every day. The optimized routes can be learned by mining these massive repositories of spatio-temporal information. We propose a system that can store and manage GPS log files in a cloud-based platform, probe traffic conditions, take advantage of taxi driver route-selection intelligence, and recommend an optimal path or multiple candidates to meet customized requirements. Specifically, we leverage a Hadoop-based distributed route clustering algorithm to distinguish different routes and predict traffic conditions through the latent traffic rhythm. We evaluate our system using a real-world dataset(>100 GB) generated by about 20 000 taxis over a 2-month period in Shenzhen, China. | 8 | Fabrication of Tβ4-Exosome-releasing artificial stem cells for myocardial infarction therapy by improving coronary collateralization显示文摘Currently,stem cell transplantations in cardiac repair are limited owing to disadvantages,such as immunological rejection and poor cell viability.Although direct injection of exosomes can have a curative effect similar to that of stem cell transplantation,high clearance hinders its application in clinical practice.Previous reports suggested that induction of coronary collateralization can be a desired method of adjunctive therapy for someone who had missed the optimal operation time to attenuate myocardial ischemia.In this study,to mimic the paracrine and biological activity of stem cells,we developed artificial stem cells that can continuously release Tβ4-exosomes(Tβ4-ASCs)by encapsulating specific exosomes within microspheres using microfluidics technology.The results show that Tβ4-ASCs can greatly promote coronary collateralization in the periphery of the myocardial infarcted area,and its therapeutic effect is superior to that of directly injecting the exosomes.In addition,to better understand how it works,we demonstrated that the Tβ4-ASC-derived exosomes can enhance the angiogenic capacity of coronary endothelial cells(CAECs)via the miR-17-5p/PHD3/Hif-1αpathway.In brief,as artificial stem cells,Tβ4-ASCs can constantly release functional exosomes and stimulate the formation of collateral circulation after myocardial infarction,providing a feasible and alternative method for clinical revascularization. | Peier Chen Xiaodong Ning Weirun Li Yuxuan Pan Ling Wang Hekai Li Xianglin Fan Jiexin Zhang Tiantian Luo Yaobin Wu Caiwen Ou Minsheng Chen | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,8: | 2 |

| 12 | Novel evidence from Taxus fuana forests for niche-neutral process assembling community显示文摘Background:Understanding the mechanisms underlying community assembly is helpful for conservation and restoration of communities, particularly those that contain rare and endangered species like Taxus fuana, which are endemic to the Western Himalayas. The niche (limiting similarity) vs. neutral (randomness) assembly of the T.fuana forest community in Gyirong County, Tibet, China, was investigated. The net relatedness index (NRI) was calculated using a phylogenetic tree. The phylogenetic characteristics of the community and its relationships with environment were analyzed.Results:The value of the mean NRI at the community level was less than-1.96, indicating that the phylogenetic structure was overdispersed;whereas majority of the NRIs at the tree, shrub, and herb layers were within-1.96 to1.96, indicating random dispersion. Environmental factors accounted for 44.38%, 46.52%, 24.04%, and 14.07%of the variation at the community level, tree, shrub, and herb layer, respectively. The phylogenetic structure at the community level and tree layer were significantly influenced by both topographic and soil factors, while shrub and herb layers tended to be affected by a single environmental factor.Conclusions:Community assembly of the T. fuana forest was simultaneously affected by niche and neutral processes, and their variations were closely related to the environment. Neutral process dominated community assembly in the shrub and herb layers. However, the interaction of limiting similarity and randomness played a dominant role at the community level and tree layer;and contributed to maintenance of biodiversity stability. The synergy of multiple environmental factors had a more obvious influence on community assembly than individual environmental factors, especially at the community level. | 17 | Formaldehyde oxidation on Pd/USY catalysts at room temperature: The effect of acid pretreatment on supports显示文摘The complete catalytic oxidation of formaldehyde (HCHO) to CO_(2)and H_(2)O at room temperature is a green route for indoor HCHO removal.Zeolite is an excellent carrier material for HCHO oxidation due to its large surface area,intricate pores and high adsorption capacity.However,the zeolite-supported noble metal catalysts have currently shown relatively low activity especially at room temperature.In this work,we present a facile acid treatment strategy for zeolite catalysts to improve the hydroxyl concentration and further enhance their catalytic activity for HCHO oxidation.Activity tests illustrated that HCHO could be completely oxidized to CO_(2)and H_(2)O at a nearly 100%conversion rate with a weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) of 150,000 mL/(g·hr) at 25℃,when the support of Pd/USY catalysts was pretreated by hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 0.20 mol/L.The characterization results revealed that the active hydroxyl groups originated from the dealumination in the acid treatment play a key role in the HCHO oxidation reaction.The deduced reaction mechanism suggests that bridging hydroxyl groups may oxidize HCHO to dioxymethylene(DOM) species and terminal hydroxyl groups are responsible for the transformation of DOM groups to formate (HCOO) species. | Xiaofeng Liu Chunying Wang Yumin Chen Qi Qin Yaobin Li Hong He | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3: | 1 |
