2Glycolysis in the control of blood glucose homeostasis显示文摘Glycolysis,a simple pathway of glucose metabolism,critically regulates insulin secretion and metabolic functions of various cells.Depending on cell types,rates of glycolysis are determined at various steps of glycolysis that are subjected to the control of key metabolic and regulatory enzyme(S),which include glucokinase,6-phosphofructo-I-kinase,and 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase.These enzymes are regulated by both nutritional and hormonal signals at the levels of transcription,translation,and post-translational modifications.In hepatocytes,glycolysis is involved in the control of hepatic glucose production.The latter,when excessive,contributes to hyperglycemia in diabetes.In pancreatic β cells,glycolysis couples glucose-stimulated insulin secretion.Absolute or relatively low levels of circulating insulin causes hyperglycemia.In adipocytes,glycolysis generates metabolites for lipogenesis and channels fatty acids from excessive oxidation to triglyceride synthesis,thereby reducing oxidative stress.With increased proinflammatory status,adipocytes produce pro-hyperglycemic factors and bring about hyperglycemia and insulin resistance.In hypotha lamic neurons,glycolysis conveys nutrient sensing that is related to feeding control.Dysregulation of glycolysis occurs in conditions of insulin deficiency or resistance,and is attributable to inappropriate amount and/or activities of metabolic and regulatory enzymes of glycolysis.Targeting key metabolic and regulatory enzymes to enhance glycolysis may offer viable approaches for treatment of diabetes.Xin Guo Honggui Li Hang Xu Shihlung Woo Hui Dong Fuer Lu Alex J.Lange Chaodong Wu 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,4:3
3A time-dependent numerical model of the mild-slope equation显示文摘On the basis of the previous studies, the simplest hyperbolic mild-slope equation has been gained and the linear time-dependent numerical model for the water wave propagation has been established combined with different boundary conditions. Through computing the effective surface displacement and transforming into the real transient wave motion, related wave factors will be calculated. Compared with Lin’s model, analysis shows that calculation stability of the present model is enhanced efficiently, because the truncation errors of this model are only contributed by the dissipation terms, but those of Lin’s model are induced by the convection terms, dissipation terms and source terms. The tests show that the present model succeeds the merit in Lin’s model and the computational program is simpler, the computational time is shorter, and the computational stability is enhanced efficiently. The present model has the capability of simulating transient wave motion by correctly predicting at the speed of wave propagation, which is important for the real-time forecast of the arrival time of surface waves generated in the deep sea. The model is validated against analytical solution for wave diffraction and experimental data for combined wave refraction and diffraction over a submerged elliptic shoal on a slope. Good agreements are obtained. 4Identifying human body states by using a flexible integrated sensor显示文摘Flexible sensors are required to be lightweight,compatible with the skin,sufficiently sensitive,and easily integrated to extract various kinds of body vital signs during continuous healthcare monitoring in daily life.For this,a simple and low-cost flexible temperature and force sensor that uses only two carbon fiber beams as the sensing layer is reported in this work.This simple,flexible sensor can not only monitor skin temperature changes in real time but can also extract most pulse waves,including venous waves,from most parts of the human body.A pulse diagnostic glove containing three such flexible sensors was designed to simulate pulse diagnostic methods used in traditional Chinese medicine.Wearable equipment was also designed in which four flexible sensors were fixed onto different body parts(neck,chest,armpit,and fingertip)to simultaneously monitor body temperature,carotid pulse,fingertip artery pulse,and respiratory rate.Four important physiological indicators—body temperature(BT),blood pressure(BP),heart rate(HR),and respiratory rate(RR)—were extracted by the wearable equipment and analyzed to identify exercise,excited,tired,angry,and frightened body states.Ying Jin Guoning Chen Kete Lao Songhui Li Yong Lu Yufeng Gan Zhundong Li Jiajia Hu Jingcheng Huang Jinxiu Wen Honggui Deng Min Yang Zhiming Chen Xiaoyan Hu Baowen Liang Jianyi Luo 2020npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1:2
5A decomposing technique for scheelite concentrate and low-grade scheelite concentrate显示文摘The effect of different decomposition conditions on tungsten recovery for scheelite concentrate has been examined. 6Enhancement in Activity of a Vanadium Catalyst for the Oxidation of Sulfur Dioxide by Radio Frequency Plasma During the Preparation Process显示文摘Radio frequency plasma was used to prepare a vanadium catalyst. The results showed that activating time of the catalyst could be shortened quickly and the catalytic activity was improved to some extent with the use of plasma. Catalyst Ls-9 was prepared under an optimal condition of 40 W discharge power, 10 min discharge time and 8 Pa gas pressure. The catalytic activity was up to 54.7% at 410 ℃,which was 2.2% higher than that of the Ls-8 catalyst. Only 10 min was needed to activate the catalyst with plasma, which was 1/9 of the traditional calcination time. For Ls-9, both the endothermic as well as the exothermic peaks detected by differential thermal analysis shifted to higher temperatures obviously,indicating that its crystal phase could melt easily. There existed an apparent endothermic peak at 283 ℃. SEM photographs showed a uniform size distribution. 8Activity Enhancement of Vanadium Catalysts with Ultrasonic Preparation Process for the Oxidation of Sulfur Dioxide显示文摘The effect of ultrasonic cavitations on the activity of vanadium catalysts at low temperatures for the oxidation of sulfur dioxide, in which refined carbonized mother liquor had been added, was investigated.Twenty minutes were needed to produce obvious cavitations when the catalyst raw material was treated in the 50 W ultrasonic generator. However, only 10 minutes would be needed in a 150 W ultrasonic generator.The higher the temperature of the wet material, the less time was needed to produce cavitations, and the optimal temperature was 60 ℃. The water content in the wet material mainly affected the quantity of cavitations. Ls-8 catalyst was prepared using ultrasonic. Its activity for conversion of SO2 reached to 52.5% at 410 ℃ and 4.2% at 350 ℃. 10Round-trip oscillation triboelectric nanogenerator with high output response and low wear to harvest random wind energy显示文摘Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)has made significant progress in wind energy harvesting.As the most advantageous rotary TENG among wind energy harvesters,the severe material wear and the output that fluctuates with wind speed seriously hinder the application of TENG wind energy harvesters.In this study,we propose a round-trip oscillation triboelectric nanogenerator(RTO-TENG)consisting of a crank transmission mechanism and a power generation unit.The RTO-TENG utilizes a simple crank transmission mechanism combined with a zigzag-laminated triboelectric nanogenerator(Z-TENG)to achieve high-performance constant output and low material wear.The crank transmission mechanism can realize the transformation from circular motion to arc reciprocating motion,converting the random wind energy into bi-directional kinetic energy,driving the vertical contact and separation of the Z-TENG.Due to the low transmission ratio(1:1)of the crank transmission mechanism and the consistent frequency of the Z-TENG contact–separation with that of the pendulum,the RTO-TENG’s power generation unit(10 Z-TENGs)is insensitive to changes in wind speed,resulting in a constant and stable output response at various speeds.After 480,000 cycles,the output of RTO-TENG decreased by only 0.9%compared to the initial value of 6μC,and the scanning electron microscopy(SEM)images of the polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)film showed no significant wear on the surface of the friction layer,demonstrating excellent output stability and abrasion resistance of the RTO-TENG wind energy collector’s material.The equipped energy management module,based on a gas discharge tube switch,can further enhance the output performance of the RTO-TENG.After optimizing its inductor parameter L to match the load capacitor,it can charge a 220μF load capacitor to 13.4 V in 40 s,resulting in a 298%improvement in charging speed compared to the voltage of 4.48 V without the management module.Therefore,the RTO-TENG can efficiently provide power to low-power small electronic devices for Internet of Things(IoTs),such as road traffic warning signs and thermo-hygrometers.Xinyu Hu Junrui Feng Chuangjian Liang Heng Ning Chunjin Chen Jiayu Li Honggui Wen Huilu Yao Lingyu Wan Guanlin Liu 2023Nano Research2023,16,8:1

12Effects of soil spatial variability on structural reliability assessment in excavations显示文摘In this study,the effects of soil spatial variability in braced excavations are investigated by focusing on three structural responses:wall bending moments,wall shear forces,and strut forces.The soil spatial variability is modeled using random field theory,and the generated soil parameters are mapped onto a finite element model.A procedure for automating the Monte Carlo simulation,which is used for probabilistic analysis,is described.A case study demonstrates that the soil spatial variability has a considerable effect on the excavation-induced structural responses.Furthermore,a reliability analysis is performed to estimate the failure probability for three structural failure modes.The results demonstrate the importance of considering soil spatial variability in the structural assessment of braced excavati ons.Zhe Luo Honggui Di Mehrad Kamalzare Yixiang Li 2020Underground Space2020,5,1:1
13Adoptive transfer of Pfkfb3-disrupted hematopoietic cells to wild-type mice exacerbates diet-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation显示文摘Background and objectives:Hepatic steatosis and inflammation are key characteristics of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).However,whether and how hepatic steatosis and liver inflammation are differentially regulated remains to be elucidated.Considering that disruption of 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 3(Pfkfb3/iPfk2)dissociates fat deposition and inflammation,the present study examined a role for Pfkfb3/iPfk2 in hematopoietic cells in regulating hepatic steatosis and inflammation in mice.Methods:Pfkfb3-disrupted(Pfkfb3^(+/-))mice and wild-type(WT)littermates were fed a high-fat diet(HFD)and examined for NAFLD phenotype.Also,bone marrow cells isolated from Pfkfb3^(+/-)mice andWT mice were differentiated into macrophages for analysis of macrophage activation status and for bone marrow transplantation(BMT)to generate chimeric(WT/BMT-Pfkfb3^(+/-))mice in which Pfkfb3 was disrupted only in hematopoietic cells and control chimeric(WT/BMT-WT)mice.The latter were also fed an HFD and examined for NAFLD phenotype.In vitro,hepatocytes were co-cultured with bone marrowderived macrophages and examined for hepatocyte fat deposition and proinflammatory responses.Results:After the feeding period,HFD-fed Pfkfb3^(+/-)mice displayed increased severity of liver inflammation in the absence of hepatic steatosis compared with HFD-fed WT mice.When inflammatory activation was analyzed,Pfkfb3^(+/-)macrophages revealed increased proinflammatory activation and decreased anti-proinflammatory activation.When NAFLD phenotype was analyzed in the chimeric mice,WT/BMT-Pfkfb3^(+/-) mice displayed increases in the severity of HFD-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation compared with WT/BMT-WT mice.At the cellular level,hepatocytes co-cultured with Pfkfb3^(+/-) macrophages revealed increased fat deposition and proinflammatory responses compared with hepatocytes co-cultured with WT macrophages.Conclusions:Pfkfb3 disruption only in hematopoietic cells exacerbates HFD-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation whereas the Pfkfb3/iPfk2 in nonhematopoietic cells appeared to be needed for HFD feeding to induce hepatic steatosis.As such,the Pfkfb3/iPfk2 plays a unique role in regulating NAFLD pathophysiology.Xin Guo Bilian Zhu Hang Xu Honggui Li Boxiong Jiang Yina Wang Benrong Zheng Shannon Glaser Gianfranco Alpini Chaodong Wu 2020Liver Research2020,4,3:1
14Towards IoT-based sustainable digital communities显示文摘Seeking continuous development,a modern community must also be able to adapt to future possible challenges using constrained or limited resources.As a revolutionary communication paradigm,the Internet of Things(IoT)empowers the cutting-edge and emerging applications which enable manifold new intelligent services towards a smart community.The sophisticated ecosystem of a digital community is made feasible by the IoT infrastructure,which also provides community control with access to a wealth of actual data.In addition,IoT platforms empower the ubiquitous computing ability,providing more potentials to the actuators in perception layer in the IoT architecture.With more and more population in the urban areas,sustainability issues have become a key factor to consider in the development of a digital community.We give a modern survey in this study on the most recent developments in IoT for sustainable digital communities.After carefully examining the most recent literature,we specifically highlight the various smart digital community application scenarios,such as smart buildings,energy management,green transportation,trash management,etc.We also look into a number of major issues facing the use of IoT technology in digital communities.Furthermore,we discuss potential future applications and future research areas for IoT,the critical component of sustainable digital communities.Fangyu Li Hongyan Yang Xuejin Gao Honggui Han 2022Intelligent and Converged Networks2022,3,2:1

16Fuzzy super-twisting sliding mode control for municipal wastewater nitrification process显示文摘A fuzzy super-twisting algorithm sliding mode controller is developed for the dissolved oxygen concentration in municipal wastewater nitrification process. First, a fuzzy neural network(FNN) model is designed to approach the oxygen dynamics with unmeasurable disturbances, then the established model consists of the nominal system model and the modelling error. Second,based on the FNN model, a super-twisting sliding mode controller is employed to stabilize the nominal system and to suppress the modelling error. Moreover, the stability of the system is investigated and an adaption law is applied to ensure the robustness of the closed-loop system. 17Double-cycle weighted imputation method for wastewater treatment process data with multiple missing patterns显示文摘Due to sensor malfunctions and communication faults,multiple missing patterns frequently happen in wastewater treatment process(WWTP).Nevertheless,the existing missing data imputation works cannot stand multiple missing patterns because they have not sufficiently utilized of data information.In this article,a double-cycle weighted imputation(DCWI)method is proposed to deal with multiple missing patterns by maximizing the utilization of the available information in variables and instances.The proposed DCWI is comprised of two components:a double-cycle-based imputation sorting and a weighted K nearest neighbor-based imputation estimator.First,the double-cycle mechanism,associated with missing variable sorting and missing instance sorting,is applied to direct the missing values imputation.Second,the weighted K nearest neighbor-based imputation estimator is used to acquire the global similar instances and capture the volatility in the local region.The estimator preserves the original data characteristics as much as possible and enhances the imputation accuracy.Finally,experimental results on simulated and real WWTP datasets with non-stationarity and nonlinearity demonstrate that the proposed DCWI produces more accurate imputation results than comparison methods under different missing patterns and missing ratios.HAN HongGui SUN MeiTing WU XiaoLong LI FangYu 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,12:0

19Transient positive antimitochondrial M2 in sera of patients with connective tissue diseases after intravenous immunoglobulin infusions显示文摘Background:Although antinuclear antibodies(ANAs),anti‐SSA and anti‐Ro52,are present in immunoglobulin preparations,it is unknown whether intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)therapy influences the testing of serum autoantibodies in patients with connective tissue diseases(CTDs).The present study aimed to investigate the dynamic change over time of serum ANA‐related autoantibodies in patients with CTDs receiving IVIG therapy.Methods:Serum ANA‐related autoantibodies were monitored in two patients with CTD before IVIG therapy and at different times after therapy.These autoantibodies were tested in different batches of immunoglobulin preparations from seven pharmaceutical companies.Results:One patient developed a new ANA pattern(cytoplasmic dense fine speckled pattern,AC‐19)just after IVIG therapy.Both patients developed de novo positivity for AMA‐M2 and anti‐SSA,but returned negative 1 month after IVIG therapy.The residual liquid in patients'immunoglobulin preparations showed positive ANAs with a high titer of AC‐19(1:640),a low titer of the nuclear fine speckled pattern(AC‐4,1:80),positive AMA‐M2,and positive anti‐SSA.ANA‐related autoantibodies were tested in 16 batches of immunoglobulin preparations and all had positive ANAs with two patterns:AC‐19(1:640 or 1:320)and AC‐4(1:80).AMA‐M2 and anti‐SSA were positive in 100%of the batches.Conclusion:Our study highlights high‐titer AMA‐M2 autoantibodies in immunoglobulin preparations and suggests their transient transfer into a patient's circulation via IVIG therapy.To avoid incorrect clinical decisions based on postinfusion antibody titers,our data recommend retesting 1–2 months after high‐dose IVIG immunomodulatory treatment.Lijuan Yang Xiuning Wei Qianhua Li Honggui Li Zhiming Ouyang Aiqi Zeng Donghui Zheng Lie Dai Yingqian Mo 2022Rheumatology & Autoimmunity2022,2,4:0
20The H3K9me2-binding protein AGDP3 limits DNA methylation and transcriptional gene silencing in Arabidopsis显示文摘DNA methylation,a conserved epigenetic mark,is critical for tuning temporal and spatial gene expression.The Arabidopsis thaliana DNA glycosylase/lyase REPRESSOR OF SILENCING 1(ROS1)initiates active DNA demethylation and is required to prevent DNA hypermethylation at thousands of genomic loci.However,how ROS1 is recruited to specific loci is not well understood.Here,we report the discovery of Arabidopsis AGENET Domain Containing Protein 3(AGDP3)as a cellular factor that is required to prevent gene silencing and DNA hypermethylation.AGDP3 binds to H3K9me2 marks in its target DNA via its AGD12 cassette.Analysis of the crystal structure of the AGD12 cassette of AGDP3 in complex with an H3K9me2 peptide revealed that dimethylated H3 K9 and unmodified H3 K4 are specifically anchored into two different surface pockets.A histidine residue located in the methyllysine binding aromatic cage provides AGDP3 with pH-dependent H3K9me2 binding capacity.Our results uncover a molecular mechanism for the regulation of DNA demethylation by the gene silencing mark H3K9me2.Xuelin Zhou Mengwei Wei Wenfeng Nie Yue Xi Li Peng Qijie Zheng Kai Tang Viswanathan Satheesh Yuhua Wang Jinyan Luo Xuan Du Rui Liu Zhenlin Yang Honggui La Yingli Zhong Yu Yang Jian-Kang Zhu Jiamu Du Mingguang Lei 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,12:0
