1Production and contribution of hydroxyl radicals between the DSA anode and water interface显示文摘Hydroxyl radicals play the key role during electrochemical oxidation and photoelectrochemical oxidation. The production and effect of hydroxyl radicals on the interface between DSA anode and water was investigated by examining the quenching effect of iso-propanol on Orange II decolorization. We observed that with an increase in electrode potential from 4 to 12 V across electrodes at pH 7.0, the contribution percentage of hydroxyl radicals increased dramatically. More OH radicals were produced in acidic and alkaline conditions than at neutral conditions. At electrode potential of 4 V, the contribution percentage of hydroxyl radicals was obviously higher at near neutral pH conditions, while removal efficiency of Orange II achieved was the lowest concurrently. Finally, for photocatalytic oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, and photoelectrochemical oxidation using the same DSA electrode, the effect of hydroxyl radicals proved to be dominant in photocatalytic oxidation but the contribution of hydroxyl radicals was not dominant in electrochemical oxidation, which implies the necessity of UV irradiation for electrochemical oxidation during water treatment.Guoting Li Meiya Zhu Jing Chen Yunxia Li Xiwang Zhang 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,5:6
2Dieldrin and endrin removal from water by trioleinembedded adsorbent显示文摘A novel triolein-embedded adsorbent for re-moval of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) from water was developed. In this paper, taking dieldrin and endrin as the target pollutants, different factors (temperature, ion strength, pH, and concentration of humic acid) that affect the adsorption rate were investigated. Adsorption isotherms of these two pollutants fitted to Freundlich model well identi-fied the partition mechanism between the adsorbent and water. However, the equilibrium constant of dieldrin was larger than that of endrin due to larger octanol-water coeffi-cient of dieldrin. Adsorption rate of dieldrin increased with the increase of temperature, the decrease of ion strength, pH and concentration of humic acid, whereas adsorption rate of endrin decreased with the increase of temperature and pH. Humic acid firstly increased, and then decreased the adsorp-tion rate of endrin. 3Photoelectrochemical degradation of Methylene Blue with β-PbO_2 electrodes driven by visible light irradiation显示文摘β-PbO2 electrodes were prepared by electro-deposition and characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and linear sweep voltammetry.We confirmed pure β-PbO2 crystals were on the electrode and it had a high oxygen evolution potential.The photoactivity and photoelectrochemical(PEC) properties of the β-PbO2 electrode were investigated under visible light irradiation(λ > 420 nm) for the decolorization of Methylene Blue.Pseudo first-order kinetics parameter(Kapp) for dye decolorization using the β-PbO2 electrode achieved 6.71×10-4 min-1 under visible light irradiation,which indicated its excellent visible light-induced photoactivity.The Kapp of the PEC process was as much as 1.41×10-3 min-1 and was 1.71 times that of visible light irradiation or electrolysis even in the presence of the β-PbO2 electrode.A significant synergetic effect was observed in the PEC system.We also employed TiO2 modified β-PbO2 electrodes in this test,which revealed that the TiO2 immobilized on the β-PbO2 electrode inhibited the visible light-induced PEC efficiency despite the amount of TiO2 used for electrode preparation.The β-PbO2 electrode was also superior to the dimensionally stable anode(Ti/Ru0.3Ti0.7O2) in visible light-induced photoactivity and PEC efficiency.Guoting Li HoYin Yip Kin Hang Wong Chun Hu Jiuhui Qu Po Keung Wong 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6:4

5Antioxidative and hepatoprotective activities of a novel polysaccharide (LSAP) from Lepista sordida mycelia显示文摘A novel alkali-soluble polysaccharide from Lepista sordida(LSAP)mycelia with antioxidative and hepatoprotective activities was characterized.The weight-average molecular weight and number-average molecular weight of LSAP were 1.442×10^(3) and 6.05×10^(2) kDa,respectively.LSAP was consisted of glucose(57.9%),xylose(31.8%),and small amounts of rhamnose,arabinose,galactose,glucuronic acid,and galacturonic acid(1.2%–3.1%).The FT-IR and 2D NMR confi rmed that LSAP was composed of Xylp,Araf,4-O-Me-α-D-GlcpA,(1→4)-linkedβ-D-Glcp,and(1→4)-α-D-GalA,andβ-glycosidic linkages between these sugar units.LSAP displayed notable effects on 1,1-dephenyl-2-picryhydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging,hydrogen peroxide scavenging,lipid peroxidation inhibitory ability,reducing power and Fe^(2+)chelating property.These biological effects were further verifi ed by suppressing CCl_(4)-induced oxidative liver damage in mice at doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg.Administration of LSAP in mice prior to CCl_(4) signifi cantly prevented the CCl_(4)-induced elevation in serum alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,and hepatic malondialdehyde.Mice treated with LSAP demonstrated to increase activities in superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)in the liver.We also found out that LSAP prevented CCl_(4)-induced oxidative liver histological alteration.LSAP may exert hepatoprotective effects against CCl_(4)-induced damage through antioxidant mechanisms in model mice.Yingyin Xu Yuanhui Li Yuxiao Lu Xiaobin Feng Guoting Tian Qinghong Liu 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,4:2

8A thermally flexible and multi-site tactile sensor for remote 3D dynamic sensing imaging显示文摘A flexible,multi-site tactile and thermal sensor(MTTS)based on polyvinylidene fluoride(resolution 50×50)is reported.It can be used to implement spatial mapping caused by tactile and thermal events and record the two-dimensional motion trajectory of a tracked target object.The output voltage and current signal are recorded as amapping by sensing the external pressure and thermal radiation stimulus,and the response distribution is dynamically observed on the three-dimensional interface.Through the mapping relationship between the established piezoelectric and pyroelectric signals,the piezoelectric component and the pyroelectric component are effectively extracted from the composite signals.The MTTS has a good sensitivity for tactile and thermal detection,and the electrodes have good synchronism.In addition,the signal interference is less than 9.5%and decreases as the pressure decreases after the distance between adjacent sites exceeds 200μm.The integration of MTTS and signal processing units has potential applications in human-machine interaction systems,health status detection and smart assistive devices.Guoting Xia Yinuo Huang Fujiang Li Licheng Wang Jinbo Pang Liwei Li Kai Wang 2020Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,6:1

11Mechanism of enhanced removal of quinonic intermediates during electrochemical oxidation of Orange Ⅱ under ultraviolet irradiation显示文摘The effect of ultraviolet irradiation on generation of radicals and formation of intermediates was investigated in electrochemical oxidation of the azo-dye Orange II using a TiO2-modified-PbO2 electrode. It was found that a characteristic absorbance of quinonic compounds at 255 nm, which is responsible for the rate-determining step during aromatics degradation, was formed only in electrocatalytic oxidation. The dye can be oxidized by either HO radicals or direct electron transfer. Quinonic compounds were produced concurrently. The removal of TOC by photo-assisted electrocatalytic oxidation was 1.56 times that of the sum of the other two processes, indicating a significant synergetic effect. In addition, once the ultraviolet irradiation was introduced into the process of electrocatalytic oxidation, the degradation rate of quinonic compounds was enhanced by as much as a factor of two. The more efficient generation of HO radicals resulted from the introduction of ultraviolet irradiation in electrocatalytic oxidation led to the significant synergetic effect as well as the inhibiting effect on the accumulation of quinonic compounds.Fazhan Li Guoting Li Xiwang Zhang 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,3:1

16Hormone-like activities of Kuntai capsule in the uteri of ovariectomized rats and immature rabbits显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the hormone-like activities of Kuntai capsule(KTC) in the uteri of ovariectomized rats and immature rabbits.METHODS: Following bilateral ovariectomy, rats were randomly divided into six groups including sham group, control group, estradiol valerate group, KTC 0.24, 0.6, and 1.5 g/kg groups. The rats were treated with 0.5% CMC-Na, estradiol valerate and KTC(0.24, 0.6, and 1.5 g/kg), respectively for 28 consecutive days. Then the estrous cycle, uterine changes and pathological changes were examined.Serum levels of estradiol(E2), and progesterone(P4)were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Protein levels of estradiol receptor(ER), progesterone receptor(PR), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and nuclear-associated antigen-67(Ki-67) in uterine tissues were detected by western blot. Immature rabbits were estrogen-primed prior to intragastric administration with KTC for 6 d consecutively. Then, the uteri underwent hematoxylin-eosin staining to observe endometrial transformation.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, 0.6and 1.5 g/kg KTC markedly decreased the uterine organ coefficient and endometrial thickness(P <0.05). The serum level of P4 was increased in the KTC 0.6 g/kg group(P < 0.05). There were no significant variations in the serum level of E2 in the KTC groups compared with the control group. ERβ, but not ERα, was markedly upregulated after KTC administration(P < 0.05). Furthermore, 1.5 g/kg KTC significantly decreased the protein level of PRA(P <0.05) and 0.6 g/kg KTC increased the protein level of PRB in the uteri(P < 0.05). VEGF was highly expressed after treatment with 0.24 and 0.6 g/kg KTC,and Ki-67 was markedly reduced in ovariectomized rats treated with 1.5 g/kg KTC. No difference was found in the expression of PCNA. 17MCTSR:A super-resolution method for defects in gas-insulated switchgear X-ray images based on multi-scale contextual transformers显示文摘As the core equipment of transmission and distribution hubs,the operational status of gas-insulated switchgear(GIS)is closely linked to the safety of the power system.Recently,X-ray digital imaging technology has been extensively used in GIS equipment fault detection.However,the X-ray image of GIS is blurred,which is not conducive to the detection of tiny defects.Thus,a super-resolution method for GIS X-ray images based on multi-scale context transformers is proposed in this study,namely MCTSR.Firstly,a second-order image degradation model is introduced to generate GIS X-ray lowresolution images that more closely resemble the real world.Secondly,a contextual transformer gate module is constructed to improve attention to tiny defects in GIS X-ray images.Thirdly,a U-Net discriminator network based on multi-scale contextual transformers is intended to enrich the information of the generated images.Finally,the proposed discriminator is combined with the existing generator to compose a superresolution method applicable to GIS X-ray images.The experimental results demonstrate that the method outperforms other methods in peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity on the constructed GIS X-ray image dataset.In addition,the output image of the proposed method facilitates the subsequent defect detection.Guote Liu Jinhui Zhou Linqiang Xu Licheng Li Bing Luo Sijun Chen 2023High Voltage2023,8,3:1
