1Passive-source ocean bottom seismograph(OBS) array experiment in South China Sea and data quality analyses显示文摘Long-term passive source ocean bottom seismograph(OBS) observatory is challenging due to various technical difficulties. In order to gain experience in this field, and to reveal the lithospheric structure beneath the extinct ridge in the central South China Sea(SCS), we carried out a passive source OBS array experiment, which includes 18 OBSs, in the deep portion of SCS. Here we present the instrumentation, the OBS deployment and recovery of this experiment, and more importantly, the data quality evaluated by a number of approaches. Through processing and inspecting waveforms from global, regional and local earthquakes, we find that most of recovered OBSs have good data quality with discernible main phases. The ambient noise analyses of OBS recordings show that their noise is higher than the global average, and the horizontal component is noisier than the vertical, indicating current impacts on horizontal components are more severe. In the period range of 5–10 s, there is a noise notch for the SCS OBSs, and noise levels of horizontal components are comparable to the vertical. This feature, which is not seen at OBS stations in open ocean, suggests the distant sources for double frequency microseism in this marginal sea are not significant. In addition, we successfully determined the orientations for 7 OBSs by investigating their Rayleigh wave polarizations; and we demonstrated the dispersion feature of Rayleigh waves through the frequency-time analysis. 2Progress in development of electrocatalyst for CO2 conversion to selective CO2 production显示文摘The conversion of carbon dioxide(CO2)to valuable fuels and chemicals offers a new pathway for sustainable and clean carbon fixation.Recently,the focus has been on electrochemical CO2 reduction on heterogeneous electrode catalysts,leading to remarkable achievements in the reaction performance.To date,CO2 to carbon monoxide(CO)conversion is considered as the most promising candidate reaction for the industrial market,owing to its high efficiency and reasonable technoeconomic feasibility.Moreover,CO has been proposed as a key intermediate species for further reduced hydrocarbons,which can pave the way for various fuel production.This study sets out to describe recent progress on the electrochemical CO2 reduction to CO in a heterogeneously catalyzed system.The review includes understanding of the catalytic material employed and engineering strategies implemented by adjusting the binding energy of key adsorbates.These material design approaches,such as nanostructuring,alloying,doping,and so forth,have pioneered breakouts in the intrinsic catalytic nature of transition metal elements.Moreover,recent advances in systematic design are summarized,with focus on practical industrial applications.Finally,perspectives on the design of electrocatalyst materials for CO production by electrochemical CO2 reduction are presented.Dang Le Tri Nguyen Younghye Kim Yun Jeong Hwang Da Hye Won 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,1:7
3Defect-rich titanium nitride nanoparticle with high microwaveacoustic conversion efficiency for thermoacoustic imaging-guided deep tumor therapy显示文摘Pulse microwave excite thermoacoustic(TA)shockwave to destroy tumor cells in situ.This has promising applications for precise tumor therapy in deep tissue.Nanoparticle(NP)with high microwave-acoustic conversion is the key to enhance the efficiency of therapy.In this study,we firstly developed defect-rich titanium nitride nanoparticles(TiN NPs)for pulse microwave excited thermoacoustic(MTA)therapy.Due to a large number of local structural defects and charge carriers,TiN NPs exhibit excellent electromagnetic absorption through the dual mechanisms of dielectric loss and resistive loss.With pulsed microwave irradiation,it efficiently converts the microwave energy into shockwave via thermocavitation effect,achieving localized mechanical damage of mitochondria in the tumor cell and yielding a precise antitumor effect.In addition to the therapeutic function,the NP-mediated TA process also generates images that provide valuable information,including tumor size,shape,and location for treatment planning and monitoring.The experimental results showed that the TiN NPs could be efficiently accumulated in the tumor via intravenous infusion.With the deep tissue penetration characteristics of microwave,the proposed TiN-mediated MTA therapy effectively and precisely cures tumors in deep tissue without any detectable side effects.The results indicated that defect-rich TiN NPs are promising candidates for tumor therapy.Zhujun Wu Fanchu Zeng Le Zhang Shuxiang Zhao Linghua Wu Huan Qin Da Xing 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:4
