Biomass-derived Porous Carbon Materials for Supercapacitor Electrodes:A Review显示文摘The development of renewable,cost-efficient,and environmentally friendly electrode materials with excellent performance is urgently needed for improving supercapacitors(SCs).Recently,biomass-derived porous carbons(BPCs)have received increasing attention due to their excellent physical and chemical properties, widespread availability, and low production cost.In this review, the progress in preparing BPCs and the properties of prepared BPCs are presented and discussed. In addition, the applications of BPCs as electrode materials for supercapacitors are also summarized.More importantly, the pore structure and surface properties of BPCs are all determining factors to improve electrochemical performance. Moreover,a high energy density and power density can be pursued by using composites based on BPCs as electrode materials,of which combining transition metallic oxide with BPCs is one of the most attractive selections. Therefore, rational design of BPCs with respect to the supercapacitor's performance should be conducted in the future. | Huimei Wang Zhong Liu Lanfeng Hui Lan Ma | 2020 | Paper And Biomaterials2020,5,2: | 10
Effects of chemical modification on physicochemical properties and adsorption behavior of sludge-based activated carbon显示文摘This study aimed to explore the adsorption performance of sludge-based activated carbon(SBC)towards dissolved organic matters(DOMs)removal from sewage, and investigated the modification effect of different types of chemicals on the structure of synthesized SBC.Waste activated sludge(WAS)was used as a carbon source, and HCl,HNO 3,and Na OH were used as different types of chemicals to modify the SBC.With the aid of chemical activation, the modified SBC showed higher adsorption performances on DOMs removal with maximum adsorption of 29.05 mg/g and second-order constant(k)of 0.1367(L/mol/sec)due to the surface elution of ash and minerals by chemicals. The surface elemental composition of MSBC suggested that the content of C-C and C-O functional groups on the surface of modified sludge-based activated carbon(MSBC)played an important role on the adsorption capacities of MSBC towards DOMs removal in sewage.Additionally, the residual molecular weight of DOMs in sewage was investigated using a 3-dimension fluorescence excitationemission matrix(3 D-EEM)and high-performance size exclusion chromatography(HP-SEC).Results showed that the chemical modification significantly improved the adsorption capacity of MSBC on humic acids(HA)and aromatic proteins(APN),and both of Na OH-MSBC and HCl-MSBC were effective for a wide range of different AMW DOMs removal from sewage, while the HNO 3-MSBC exhibited poorly on AMW organics of 2,617 Da and 409 Da due to the reducing content of macropore. In brief, this study provides reference values for the impact of the chemicals of the activation stage before the SBCs application. | Chunxu Wu Lanfeng Li Hao Zhou Jing Ai Hongtao Zhang Jialin Tao Dongsheng Wang Weijun Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2: | 7
Dynamic culture of a thermosensitive collagen hydrogel as an extracellular matrix improves the construction of tissue-engineered peripheral nerve显示文摘Tissue engineering technologies offer new treatment strategies for the repair of peripheral nerve injury, but cell loss between seeding and adhesion to the scaffold remains inevitable. A thermosensitive collagen hydrogel was used as an extracellular matrix in this study and combined with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to construct tissue-engineered peripheral nerve composites in vitro. Dynamic culture was performed at an oscillating frequency of 0.5 Hz and 35° swing angle above and below the horizontal plane. The results demonstrated that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells formed membrane-like structures around the poly-L-lactic acid scaffolds and exhibited regular alignment on the composite surface. Collagen was used to fill in the pores, and seeded cells adhered onto the poly-L-lactic acid fibers. The DNA content of the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells was higher in the composites constructed with a thermosensitive collagen hydrogel compared with that in collagen I scaffold controls. The cellular DNA content was also higher in the thermosensitive collagen hydrogel composites constructed with the thermosensitive collagen hydrogel in dynamic culture than that in static culture. These results indicate that tissue-engineered composites formed with thermosensitive collagen hydrogel in dynamic culture can maintain larger numbers of seeded cells by avoiding cell loss during the initial adhesion stage. Moreover, seeded cells were distributed throughout the material. | Lanfeng Huang Rui Li Wanguo Liu Jin Dai Zhenwu Du Xiaonan Wang Jianchao Ma Jinsong Zhao | 2014 | Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,14: | 3
Both structure and function of human monoclonal antibodies contribute to enhancement of Zika virus infectivity in vitro显示文摘Dear Editor,Antibody-dependent enhancement(ADE)has long been recognized for dengue virus(DENV)in vitro and in vivo.It is now clear that antibodies to DENV can also enhance Zika virus(ZIKV)infection in vitro, and vice versa(Dejnirattisai et al.,2016;Stettler et al.,2016).The characteristics of enhancing antibodies, however, remain elusive. Some have suggested that non-neutralizing antibodies or antibodies recognizing specific antigenic sites are | Min Li Xin Wang Qihui Wang Lei Yu Lanfeng Wang Jinghua Yan Fuchun Zhang Linqi Zhang George F.Gao Xia Jin | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,12: | 2
Engineering topography: Effects on corneal cell behavior and integration into corneal tissue engineering显示文摘Cell-material interactions are important to tissue engineering.Inspired by the natural topographic structures on the extracellular matrix,a growing number of studies have integrated engineering topography into investigations of cell behavior on biomaterials.Engineering topography has a significant influence on cell behaviors. These cell-topography interactions play an important role in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.Similarly,cell-topography interactions are important to corneal reconstruction and regeneration. In this review,we primarily summarized the effects of topographic cues on the behaviors of corneal cells, including cell morphology, adhesion, migration, and proliferation.Furthermore, the integration of engineering surface topography into corneal tissue engineering was also discussed. | Sijia Xiong HuiChang Gao Lanfeng Qin Yong-Guang Jia Li Ren | 2019 | Bioactive Materials2019,4,1: | 2
Preparation of High-precision Electrospun Nanoair Filter Paper for Air Purification显示文摘Electrospinning technology has become a research hotspot becauseof its advantages, such as simple operation, low cost, large specific surfacearea, high porosity, and good fiber continuity. Here, a new type of compositenanoair filter paper was prepared using electrospinning technology. Toimprove the practicability of air filter base paper, phenolic resin was used as acuring agent to improve the strength. The results show that the electrospunnanoair filter paper with air filter paper as the receiving substrate andpolyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution as the spinning solution excellentlyperformed in all aspects. The influence of the thickness (spinning time) of thePVA nanofiber membrane on the micromorphology, physical properties, andfiltration performance of the electrospun nanoair filter paper was analyzed.According to the ISO 5011-2014 standard, the initial resistance, filtrationefficiency, mean pore size, and dust capacity of the electrospun nanoair filterpaper were 77.3 Pa, 99.9941%, 3.50 μm, and 146 g/m^(2), respectively, when thespinning time was 15 min. | Weiyin Su Lanfeng Hui Xiaoyan Ma Lingyuan Wang Yu Wang | 2021 | Paper And Biomaterials2021,6,4: | 2

Epigenetic regulation of covalently closed circular DNA minichromosome in hepatitis B virus infection显示文摘Hepatitis B is caused by hepatitis B virus(HBV),and persistent HBV infection is a global public health problem, with 257 million people as HBV chronic carriers.Viral covalently closed circular DNA(cccDNA)is a key factor to establish persistent infection in infected hepatocytes.Current antiviral therapies have no direct impact on pre-existing cccDNA reservoir, which can be assembled into minichromosome by hijacking host factors.Understanding the mechanisms of epigenetic regulation in cccDNA minichromosome is crucial to develop new therapy on cccDNA,an attractive target for HBV cure. This review summarizes the current advances in epigenetic regulation of cccDNA minichromosome, which might provide clues to novel druggable targets to cure hepatitis B by either silencing or eliminating cccDNA reservoir. | Zhaoning Wang Weiwei Wang Lanfeng Wang | 2020 | Biophysics Reports2020,6,4: | 1

Targeting mitochondria as an anticancer strategy显示文摘Mitochondrial metabolism and cancer development Mitochondria are organelles controlling adenosine triphosphate(ATP)generation, redox homeostasis,met-abolic signaling, and apoptotic pathways.Although gly-colysis was traditionally considered as the major source of energy in cancer cells,in-line with the so-called“Warburg effect”,mitochondria have been recognized to play a key role in oncogenesis[1].Cancer cells uniquely reprogram their cellular activities to support their rapid proliferation and migration,as well as to counteract met-abolic and genotoxic stress during cancer progression[2].Further,mitochondria can switch their metabolic phe-notypes to meet the challenges of high energy demand and macromolecular synthesis[3].Thus,cancer mito-chondria have the ability to flexibly switching between glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation(OXPHOS)for their survival. The electron transport chain(ETC)func-tion is pivotal for mitochondrial respiration, which is also needed for dihydroorotate dehydrogenase(DHODH)activity that is essential for de novo pyrimidine synthe-sis[4].Recent researches have demonstrated that cancer cells devoid of mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)lack their tumorigenic potential, and they re-gain this ability by acquiring healthy mtDNA from the host stromal cells via horizontal transfer of whole mitochondria[5,6]for recovery of the respiratory function.Functionally,respi-ration propels DHODH activity for pyrimidine biosyn-thesis[7].Therefore,targeting mitochondria holds great potential for anticancer strategy with high therapeutic opportunities. | Lanfeng Dong Jiri Neuzil | 2019 | Cancer Communications2019,39,1: | 1
