| 1 | Seasonal variation in surface ozone and its regional characteristics at global atmosphere watch stations in China显示文摘We investigated the seasonal and spatial ozone variations in China by using three-year surface ozone observation data from the six Chinese Global Atmosphere Watch(GAW)stations and tropospheric column ozone data from satellite retrieval over the period2010–2012. It is shown that the seasonal ozone variations at these GAW stations are rather different, particularly between the western and eastern locations. Compared with western China, eastern China has lower background ozone levels. However, the Asian summer monsoon(ASM) can transport photochemical pollutants from the southern to the northern areas in eastern China, leading to a northward gradual enhancement of background ozone levels at the eastern GAW stations. Over China, the tropospheric column ozone densities peak during spring and summer in the areas that are directly and/or indirectly affected by the ASM, and the peak time lags from the south to the north in eastern China. We also investigated the regional representativeness of seasonal variations of ozone at the six Chinese GAW stations using the yearly maximum tropospheric column month as indicator.The results show that the seasonal variation characteristics of ozone revealed by the Chinese GAW stations are typical, with each station having a considerable large surrounding area with the ozone maximum occurring at the same month. | 2 | Neuroprotective effect of ethyl acetate extract from gastrodia elata against transient focal cerebral ischemia in rats induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect of neuroprotection against transient focal cerebral ischemia of the extract from Tianma(Rhizoma Gastrodiae) and the possible mechanisms underlying the action.METHODS: Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury was induced through middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO). Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: sham-operated,ischemia-reperfusion model, 102.6 mg/kg extract treated and 11.4 mg/kg extract treated groups. The extract was prepared from gastrodia elata with ethyl acetate. The effect of the extract tested on rat neurological de fi cits and Cerebral index, cerebral infarct volume, brain injury, terminal dexynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) and B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2) positive cells.RESULTS: The extract was able to reduce neurological scores, cerebral index and cerebral infarction rate. The brain injury was also relieved by the extract. | 3 | Characteristics and recent trends of sulfur dioxide at urban,rural,and background sites in North China:Effectiveness of control measures显示文摘SO 2 measurements made in recent years at sites in Beijing and its surrounding areas are performed to study the variations and trends of surface SO 2 at different types of sites in Northern China.The overall average concentrations of SO 2 are (16.8±13.1) ppb,(14.8±9.4) ppb,and (7.5±4.0) ppb at China Meteorological Administration (CMA,Beijing urban area),Gucheng (GCH,relatively polluted rural area,110 km to the southwest of Beijing urban area),and Shangdianzi (SDZ,clean background area,100 km to the northeast of Beijing urban area),respectively.The SO 2 levels in winter (heating season) are 4-6 folds higher than those in summer.There are highly significant correlations among the daily means of SO 2 at different sites,indicating regional characteristics of SO 2 pollution.Diurnal patterns of surface SO 2 at all sites have a common feature with a daytime peak,which is probably caused by the downward mixing and/or the advection transport of SO 2 -richer air over the North China Plain.The concentrations of SO 2 at CMA and GCH show highly significant downward trends (-4.4 ppb/yr for CMA and -2.4 ppb/yr for GCH),while a less significant trend (-0.3 ppb/yr) is identified in the data from SDZ,reflecting the character of SDZ as a regional atmospheric background site in North China.The SO 2 concentrations of all three sites show a significant decrease from period before to after the control measures for the 2008 Olympic Games,suggesting that the SO 2 pollution control has long-term effectiveness and benefits.In the post-Olympics period,the mean concentrations of SO 2 at CMA,GCH,and SDZ are (14.3±11.0) ppb,(12.1±7.7) ppb,and (7.5±4.0) ppb,respectively,with reductions of 26%,36%,and 13%,respectively,compared to the levels before.Detailed analysis shows that the differences of temperature,relative humidity,wind speed,and wind direction were not the dominant factors for the significant differences of SO 2 between the pre-Olympics and post-Olympics periods.By extracting the data being more representative of local or regional characteristics,a reduction of up to 40% for SO 2 in polluted areas and a reduction of 20% for regional SO 2 are obtained for the effect of control measures implemented for the Olympic Games. | Weili Lin Xiaobin XU Zhiqiang Ma Huarong Zhao Xiwen Liu Ying Wang | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,1: | 15 |
| 4 | Wintertime peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN) in the megacity Beijing: Role of photochemical and meteorological processes显示文摘Previous measurements of peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN) in Asian megacities were scarce and mainly conducted for relative short periods in summer. Here, we present and analyze the measurements of PAN, O3, NOx, etc., made at an urban site(CMA) in Beijing from 25 January to 22 March 2010. The hourly concentration of PAN averaged 0.70 × 10 9mol/mol(0.23 × 10 9–3.51 × 10 9mol/mol) and was well correlated with that of NO2but not O3, indicating that the variations of the winter concentrations of PAN and O3in urban Beijing are decoupled with each other. Wind conditions and transport of air masses exert very significant impacts on O3, PAN, and other species. Air masses arriving at the site originated either from the boundary layer over the highly polluted N-S-W sector or from the free troposphere over the W-N sector. The descending free-tropospheric air was rich in O3, with an average PAN/O3ratio smaller than 0.031, while the boundary layer air over the polluted sector contained higher levels of PAN and primary pollutants, with an average PAN/O3ratio of 0.11. These facts related with transport conditions can well explain the observed PAN-O3decoupling. Photochemical production is important to PAN in the winter over Beijing. The concentration of the peroxyacetyl(PA) radical was estimated to be in the range of 0.0014 × 10 12–0.0042 × 10 12 mol/mol. | 5 | Background concentrations of reactive gases and the impacts of long-range transport at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station显示文摘Lorentz curve fittings are applied to frequency distributions of the concentrations of O 3 , CO, NO x and SO 2 recorded at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station (JSH) from June 2006 to July 2007, and the peak concentrations of these species for the different seasons are obtained. The peak concentrations are considered to be representative of different background levels for certain processes. The peak concentrations are compared with the corresponding mean (median) concentrations, and the suitability and limitations of the mean (median) values as the background levels are discussed. The mean (median) values might represent the background concentrations in the region under some circumstances, but in other cases these values often underestimate or overestimate the true background concentrations owing to the transport of pollutants and other factors. The effects of air masses transported from different regions on the pollutant background concentrations are obtained by analyzing the 72-hour backward trajectories of air masses 100 m above the ground at JSH. These trajectories are estimated using the HYSPLIT model and then clustered for the measurement period. The spatial distribution and seasonal variations of trajectories and the corresponding mean concentrations of O 3 , SO 2 , NO x and CO for different clusters are analyzed. After filtering the seasonal changes in pollutant concentrations, the relative influences of air masses from different regions are obtained. The results show that JSH can be used to obtain the atmospheric background information of different air masses originating from or passing over the Yangtze River Delta, Central South China and the Jianghan Plain. Air masses from Central China, South China, and the western Yangtze River Delta contribute significantly to O 3 at JSH. Air masses from the north and northeast of JSH (i.e., the Jianghan Plain, Huang-Huai Plain and North China Plain) and the south (Central South China) contribute significantly to SO 2 , CO and NO x concentrations. Air masses originating from the ocean often bring clean air. | 9 | Clinical effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy on alcoholdependent patients:an observation with the WeChat platform显示文摘Background With the continuous improvement of people's material living standards,the consumption of alcoholic beverages is increasing.Alcohol dependence caused by alcohol addiction has become a widespread concern in society.As the brand-new medical and health model created by the modern biomedical technology revolution and the information technology revolution,mobile health has been used more and more widely in the field of medical health with the characteristics of convenience,rapidity and generalisability.With the general use of the social software WeChat,it is feasible to implement mobile health on the WeChat platform.Aim We aimed to explore the clinical effect of WeChat platform used in the cognitive behavioural therapy(CBT)on the maintenance period of alcohol dependence and addiction.Methods Seventy alcohol-dependent patients in the withdrawal maintenance stage admitted into our hospital were randomly divided into the CBT on WeChat platform group(the experiment group,n=35)and the general clinical treatment using sertraline group(the control group,n=35)with block randomisation grouping.They were evaluated with the Severity of Alcohol Dependence Questionnaire(SADQ-C)before the treatment,at the end of the fourth week,at the end of the eighth week and at the end of the twelfth week of treatment.In addition,Zung's Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were employed to evaluate the degree of anxiety and depression of the two groups.Results The SADQ-C,SAS and SDS scores of the two groups after treatment decreased markedly compared with those before treatments,and the differences were statistically significant.Between-group comparison:the SADQ-C scores of the experiment group at the end of the fourth,eighth and twelfth weeks were lower than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant,which indicated that the score reduction in the experiment group was larger than that in the control group.The SAS and SDS scores of the experiment group at these time points were not significantly different from those of the control group,which indicated that these two treatment methods were comparable in treating patients1 anxiety and depression.Conclusion The CBT in tervention using WeChat may improve the subjectively reported severity of alcohol dependence of patients who had completed detoxification.It is conducive to prevention of relapse,and is convenient for patients.It is worthy of clinical application and further study. | Jing Chen Mincai Qian Conghao Sun Min Lin Weili fang | 2019 | General Psychiatry2019,32,5: | 6 |
| 10 | Risks Associated with Misuse of Ketamine as a Rapid-Acting Antidepressant显示文摘Major depression is a serious psychiatric disorder and remains a leading cause of disability worldwide.Conventional antidepressants take at least several weeks to achieve a therapeutic response and this lag period has hindered their ability to attain beneficial effects in depressed individuals at high risk of suicide.The non-competitive Nmethyl-D-aspartate glutamate receptor antagonist ketamine has been shown to have rapid antidepressant effects in both rodents and humans.The emergence of ketamine as a fastacting antidepressant provides promising new insights into the development of a rapid treatment response in patients with clinical depression.However,its safety and toxicity remain a concern.In this review,we focus on the limitations of ketamine,including neurotoxicity,cognitive dysfunction,adverse events associated with mental status,psychotomimetic effects,cardiovascular events,and uropathic effects.Studies have shown that its safety and tolerability profiles are generally good at low doses and with short-term treatment in depressed patients.The adverse events associated with ketamine usually occur with very high doses that are administered for prolonged periods of time and can be relieved by cessation.The antidepressant actions of its two enantiomers,S-ketamine(esketamine) and R-ketamine,are also discussed.R-ketamine has greater antidepressant actions than S-ketamine,without ketamine-related sideeffects.Future treatment strategies should consider using Rketamine for the treatment of depressed patients to decrease the risk of adverse events associated with long-term ketamine use. | Weili Zhu Zengbo Ding Yinan Zhang Jie Shi Kenji Hashimoto Lin Lu | 2016 | Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,6: | 5 |
| 11 | Estimation on organic carbon content of source rocks by logging evaluation method as exemplified by those of the 4^(th) and 3^(rd) members of the Shahejie Formation in western sag of the Liaohe Oilfield显示文摘One of the most important tasks of evaluating natural resources of petroliferous basins is to determine the organic matter abundance of source rocks in the basin.The usual method for assessing the organic carbon content of source rocks is based on laboratory analyses.There is a deviation in calculating organic carbon content due to the heterogeneous distribution of organic matter and the artificial factors when sampling.According to the continuous characteristics of information logging,the conventional logging curves(mainly acoustics and resistivity,etc.) were calibrated with the organic carbon experimental data of cores,cuttings or sidewall cores.The organic carbon content of source rocks of the 4 th(Es 4) and 3 rd(Es 3) members of the Shahejie Formation in western sag in the Liaohe depression was estimated directly by a great amount of continuous data including resistivity and acoustic logging,etc.Comparison between the results from computer processing and lab analysis of logging data shows that the organic carbon contents derived from the computer processing of logging data have the same reliability and accuracy as the lab analysis results.The present data show that this method is suitable to evaluate the source rocks of western sag in the Liaohe depression and has great potential in evaluating natural resources of sedimentary basins in the future.On the basis of logging data of source rocks,experimental data and existing geochemical analyses of the Liaohe Oilfield,the corresponding total organic carbon(TOC) isograms of source rocks were plotted.The source rocks of Es 4 and Es 3 of the Shahejie Formation are thought to be beneficial to hydrocarbon accumulation due to the high TOC. | LIU Luofu SHANG Xiaoqing WANG Ping GUO Yongqiang WANG Weili WU Lin | 2012 | Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2012,31,4: | 3 |

| 18 | Effects of friction stir processing on the microstructure and superplasticity of in situ nano-ZrB_2/2024Al composite显示文摘In this study, in situ nano-ZrB_2/2024 Al composites fabricated from 2024Al–K_2ZrF_6–KBF_4 system were processed by friction stir processing(FSP) to achieve superplasticity of the composites. And the effects of particle contents(1 wt%, 3 wt%, 5 wt%), matrix grain size(micron or submicron), strain rates(5×10^(-3)s^(-1), 1×10^(-2)s^(-1), 2×10^(-2)s^(-1) and deformation temperatures(400 K, 480 K, 600 K, 700 K, 750 K) on the superplasticity of the composites were investigated. After the friction stir processing, the coarse grains of the cast composites with matrix grain size of about 80–100 μm and nano-Zr B2 reinforcement size of 30–100 nm were crushed into small grains about 1 μm in size, and the uniformity of the nano-Zr B_2 reinforcements was also improved. And under the same superplastic tensile testing condition at the temperature of 750 K and strain rate of 5×10^(-3)s^(-1), the FSP nano 3 wt%Zr B_2/2024 Al composite exhibited an superplastic elongation of 292.5%, while the elongation of the corresponding cast composite was only less than 100%. Meanwhile, the m values of the FSP composites were always higher than the cast composites, especially the FSP composites with 3 wt% particles has the m value of 0.5321 i.e., the FSP composites should had better superplastic properties than cast ones. | 19 | Two-year measurements of surface ozone at Dangxiong,a remote highland site in the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Measurements of surface O3 and carbon monoxide(CO) were made from September 2009 to August 2011 at Dangxiong(30.48°N, 91.10°E, 4187 m a.s.l.), a remote highland site in a southern valley of the Nyainqêntanglha Mountains in the Tibetan Plateau, China. The monthly mean O3 mixing ratio ranged from 29.1 to 51.4 ppb, with an average of 38.5 ppb, and the maximum value was observed in May. The average diurnal cycle of O3 concentration showed a minimum in early morning and a maximum in the afternoon, with a broader 'high platform' from the late morning to the late afternoon, and resembled that of surface wind speed. The concentration of surface O3 was highly significantly correlated with tropospheric column O3 over the regions surrounding Dangxiong and with that of surface O3 observed at a site north of the Nyainqêntanglha Mountains, suggesting a good regional representativeness of surface O3 at Dangxiong. In the afternoon when stronger winds blew, surface air showed distinct features of free-atmospheric air, with higher O3, lower CO, and lower relative humidity(RH). The negative O3–CO and O3–RH correlations in most months indicate a significant influence of air masses from the free troposphere. | 20 | Observed levels and trends of gaseous SO_2 and HNO_3 at Mt.Waliguan,China:Results from 1997 to 2009显示文摘Long-term measurements of SO2 and HNO3,particularly those from the background sites,are rarely reported.We present for the first time the long-term measurements of SO2 and HNO3 at Waliguan(WLG),the only global baseline station in the back-land of the Eurasian Continent.The concentrations of SO2 and HNO3 were observed at WLG from 1997 to 2009.The observed annual mean concentrations of SO2 and HNO3 at WLG were 1.28±0.41 and 0.22±0.19μg/m3,respectively.The HNO3 concentrations were much higher in warmer seasons than in colder seasons,while the SO2 concentrations showed a nearly reversed seasonal pattern.In most months,the concentration of HNO3 was significantly correlated with that of SO2,suggesting that some common factors influence the variations of both gases and the precursors of HNO3 may partially be from the SO2-emitting sources.The SO2 concentration had a very significant(P < 0.0001) decreasing trend(-0.2μg/(m3·yr)) in 1997-2002,but a significant(P < 0.05) increasing trend(+0.06 μg/(m 3 ·yr)) in 2003-2009.The HNO3 concentration showed no statistically significant trend during 1997-2009.While the decrease of SO2 in 1997-2002 agrees with the trend of global SO2 emissions,the increase in 2003-2009 is not consistent with the decreasing trends in many other regions over the world.Trajectory analysis suggests that the airmasses from the northern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and the Takla Makan Desert regions contributed significantly to the increasing trends of SO2 and HNO3 at WLG in 2003-2009,with a rate of +0.13μg/(m3·yr) and +0.007μg/(m3·yr),respectively. | Weili Lin Xiaobin Xu Xiaolan Yu Xiaochun Zhang Jianqing Huang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,4: | 1 |
