| 1 | Human Gut Microbiota and Gastrointestinal Cancer显示文摘Human gut microbiota play an essential role in both healthy and diseased states of humans.In the past decade,the interactions between microorganisms and tumors have attracted much attention in the efforts to understand various features of the complex microbial communities,as well as the possible mechanisms through which the microbiota are involved in cancer prevention,carcinogenesis,and anti-cancer therapy.A large number of studies have indicated that microbial dysbiosis contributes to cancer susceptibility via multiple pathways.Further studies have suggested that the microbiota and their associated metabolites are not only closely related to carcinogenesis by inducing in?ammation and immune dysregulation,which lead to genetic instability,but also interfere with the pharmacodynamics of anticancer agents.In this article,we mainly reviewed the in?uence of gut microbiota on cancers in the gastrointestinal(GI)tract(including esophageal,gastric,colorectal,liver,and pancreatic cancers)and the regulation of microbiota by diet,prebiotics,probiotics,synbiotics,antibiotics,or the Traditional Chinese Medicine.We also proposed some new strategies in the prevention and treatment of GI cancers that could be explored in the future.We hope that this review could provide a comprehensive overview of the studies on the interactions between the gut microbiota and GI cancers,which are likely to yield translational opportunities to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality by improving prevention,diagnosis,and treatment. | Changting Meng Chunmei Bai Thomas D. | 6 | Performances of local poultry breed fed black soldier fly larvae reared on horse manure显示文摘In poultry,feed based on maggots,like larvae of black soldier fly(Hermetia illucens) is an attractive option to substitute current ingredients which are expensive and often in direct or indirect competition with human food.Little information is currently available on the utility of these larvae in poultry feed,so goals of this study were to determine whether larvae could be reared on horse manure under traditional farming conditions and to evaluate the growth performances of a local poultry fed these larvae and the fatty acids profiles of their meat.After freezing and thawing,larvae were introduced in the feed of Ardennaise chickens between 30 and 80 days of age.Birds in the control group received a commercial standard feed,while those in the treatment group received the same commercial feed in which 8% was substituted with whole fresh larvae corresponding to 2% on a dry matter basis.Means ± standard errors of larval length and weight were 20.67 ± 2.21 mm and 0.14 ± 0.02 g,respectively.Mean larval percentages of dry matter and of substances extractable in diethyl ether were 24.6% and 23.1%,respectively.Larval fatty acids profiles were predominantly composed of lauric acid(28.1%) and palmitic acid(22.0%).Least squares means of weekly weights of chicken,adjusted for the effects of sex,replication and initial weights,were significantly higher(P < 0.05) by 77.03 ± 53.37 g in larvae-fed than in control chickens.All other measurements were not statistically different between larvae-fed and control chicken,including fatty acid profiles,protein content and w6/w3 ratio. | Nassim Moula Marie-Louise Scippo Caroline Douny Guy Degand Edwin Dawans Jean-Francois Cabaraux Jean-Luc Hornick Rudy C.Medigo Pascal Leroy Frederic Francis Johann Detilleux | 2018 | Animal Nutrition2018，，1： | 7 |

| 9 | Redistribution and magnitude of stresses around horse shoe and circular excavations opened in anisotropic rock显示文摘In this paper numerical analysis of underground structures, taking account the transverse isotropy system of rocks, was done using CAST 3M code by varying the shape of excavation and the coefficient of earth pressure k. Numerical results reveal that the anisotropy behavior, the shape of hole and the coefficient of earth pressure k have significant influence to the mining induced stress field and rock deformations which directly control the stability of underground excavation design. The magnitude of horizontal stress obtained for the horse shoe shape excavation(25.2 MPa for k = 1; 52.7 MPa for k = 2)is lower than the magnitude obtained for circular hole(26.4 MPa for k = 1; 59.5 MPa for k = 2).Therefore, we have concluded that the horse shoe shape offers the best stability and the best design for engineer. The anisotropy system presented by rock mass can also influence the redistribution of stresses around hole opened. Numerical results have revealed that the magnitude of redistribution of horizontal stresses obtained for transverse isotropic rock(12.1 MPa for k = 0.5; 25.2 MPa for k = 1 and52.7 MPa for k = 2) is less than those obtained in the case of isotropic rock(27.6 MPa for k = 1;48.6 MPa for k = 2 and 90.81 MPa for k = 2). | 16 | Contrasted continental rifting via plume-craton interaction: Applications to Central East African Rift显示文摘The East African Rift system(EARS)provides a unique system with the juxtaposition of two contrasting yet simultaneously formed rift branches,the eastern,magma-rich,and the western,magma-poor,on either sides of the old thick Tanzanian craton embedded in a younger lithosphere.Data on the pre-rift,syn-rift and post-rift far-field volcanic and tectonic activity show that the EARS formed in the context of the interaction between a deep mantle plume and a horizontally and vertically heterogeneous lithosphere under far-field tectonic extension.We bring quantitative insights into this evolution by implementing high-resolution 3D thermo-mechanical numerical deformation models of a lithosphere of realistic rheology.The models focus on the central part of the EARS.We explore scenarios of plumelithosphere interaction with plumes of various size and initial position rising beneath a tectonically pre-stretched lithosphere.We test the impact of the inherited rheological discontinuities(suture zones)along the craton borders,of the rheological structure,of lithosphere plate thickness variations,and of physical and mechanical contrasts between the craton and the embedding lithosphere.Our experiments indicate that the ascending plume material is deflected by the cratonic keel and preferentially channeled along one of its sides,leading to the formation of a large rift zone along the eastern side of the craton,with significant magmatic activity and substantial melt amount derived from the mantle plume material.We show that the observed asymmetry of the central EARS,with coeval amagmatic(western)and magmatic(eastern)branches,can be explained by the splitting of warm material rising from a broad plume head whose initial position is slightly shifted to the eastern side of the craton.In that case,neither a mechanical weakness of the contact between the craton and the embedding lithosphere nor the presence of second plume are required to produce simulations that match observations.This result reconciles the passive and active rift models and demonstrates the possibility of development of both magmatic and amagmatic rifts in identical geotectonic environments. | Alexander Koptev Evgueni Burov Eric Calais Sylvie Leroy Taras Gerya Laurent Guillou-Frottier Sierd Cloetingh | 2016 | Geoscience Frontiers2016，7，2： | 4 |
| 17 | Predictive factors for compliance with transanal irrigation for the treatment of defecation disorders显示文摘AIM To investigate compliance with transanal irrigation(TAI) one year after a training session and to identify predictive factors for compliance.METHODS The compliance of one hundred eight patients [87 women and 21 men; median age 55 years(range 18-83)] suffering from constipation or fecal incontinence(FI) was retrospectively assessed. The patients were trained in TAI over a four-year period at a single institution. They were classified as adopters if they continued using TAI for at least one year after beginning the treatment or as non-adopters if they stopped. Predictive factors of compliance with TAI were based on pretreatment assessments and trainingprogress. The outcomes of the entire cohort of patients who had been recruited for the TAI treatment were expressed in terms of intention-to-treat.RESULTS Forty-six of the 108(43%) trained patients continued to use TAI one year after their training session. The patients with FI had the best results, with 54.5% remaining compliant with TAI. Only one-third of the patients who complained of slow transit constipation or obstructed defecation syndrome continued TAI. There was an overall discontinuation rate of 57%. The most common reason for discontinuing TAI was the lack of efficacy(41%). However, 36% of the patients who discontinued TAI gave reasons independent of the efficacy of the treatment such as technical problems(catheter expulsion, rectal balloon bursting, instilled water leakage or retention, pain during irrigation, anal bleeding, anal fissure) while 23% said that there were too many constraints.
