| 2 | High performance electro-optic modulator based on thin-film lithium niobate显示文摘Electro-optic(EO) modulator plays a very critical role in the optical communication systems. Here, we report a stimulated thin-film lithium niobate(LN) modulator with a half-wave voltage-length product of 1.8 V·cm, which can successfully achieve modulation and demodulation of a 1 GHz sinusoidal signal with an amplitude of 5 V in experiment. The optical loss caused by metal electrodes is reduced by optimizing the waveguide structure and depositing silica onto the waveguide, and group-velocity matching and characteristic impedance matching are achieved by optimizing the buffer silica layer and the electrode structure for larger bandwidth, which simultaneously improves the modulation efficiency and bandwidth performance. | 3 | Safety and efficacy of thalidomide in patients with transfusiondependentβ-thalassemia:a randomized clinical trial显示文摘Thalidomide inducesγ-globin expression in erythroid progenitor cells,but its efficacy on patients with transfusion-dependentβ-thalassemia(TDT)remains unclear.In this phase 2,multi-center,randomized,double-blind clinical trial,we aimed to determine the safety and efficacy of thalidomide in TDT patients.A hundred patients of 14 years or older were randomly assigned to receive placebo or thalidomide for 12 weeks,followed by an extension phase of at least 36 weeks.The primary endpoint was the change of hemoglobin(Hb)level in the patients.The secondary endpoints included the red blood cell(RBC)units transfused and adverse effects.In the placebo-controlled period,Hb concentrations in patients treated with thalidomide achieved a median elevation of 14.0(range,2.5 to 37.5)g/L,whereas Hb in patients treated with placebo did not significantly change.Within the 12 weeks,the mean RBC transfusion volume for patients treated with thalidomide and placebo was 5.4±5.0 U and 10.3±6.4 U,respectively(P<0.001).Adverse events of drowsiness,dizziness,fatigue,pyrexia,sore throat,and rash were more common with thalidomide than placebo.In the extension phase,treatment with thalidomide for 24 weeks resulted in a sustainable increase in Hb concentrations which reached 104.9±19.0 g/L,without blood transfusion.Significant increase in Hb concentration and reduction in RBC transfusions were associated with nonβ0/β0 and HBS1L-MYB(rs9399137 C/T,C/C;rs4895441 A/G,G/G)genotypes.These results demonstrated that thalidomide is effective in patients with TDT. | Jiang-Ming Chen Wei-Jian Zhu Jie Liu Gui-Zhen Wang Xiao-Qin Chen Yun Tan Wei-Wei Xu Li-Wei Qu Jin-Yan Li Huan-Ju Yang Lan Huang Ning Cai Wei-Da Wang Ken Huang Jian-Quan Xu Guo-Hui Li Sheng He Tian-Ying Luo Yi Huang Song-Hua Liu Wen-Qiang Wu Qi-Yang Lu Mei-Guang Zhou Shu-Ying Chen Rong-Lan Li Mei-Ling Hu Ying Huang Jin-Hua Wei Jun-Min Li Sai-Juan Chen Guang-Biao Zhou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021，6，12： | 1 |

| 6 | Low-loss wide-bandwidth planar transmission line with a laminated conductor显示文摘In this paper,the laminated conductor technology is first introduced to planar-integrated transmission lines.The laminated conductor is composed of multilayers of metal and insulator,which has a lower conductor loss than a solid conductor.Based on the silicon-based micro electromechanical system technology,a laminated coplanar waveguide(CPW)with wide bandwidth and low loss is proposed,which uses a laminated conductor for signal lines and grounds.A laminated CPW and its transition are designed,fabricated,and measured.The simulation results show that the laminated CPW with many insulator layers has a low conductor loss.The measurement results illustrate that the average insertion loss of the laminated CPW is0.65 d B from DC to 40 GHz,which is 44.4%smaller than that of the solid CPW. | Ken NING Xiao-Chun LI Yan SHAO Junfa MAO | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023，66，5： | 0 |
