Synthesis, docking and ADMET prediction of novel 5-((5-substituted-1-H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl) methyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothieno[3,2-c]pyridine as antifungal agents显示文摘A novel series of 5-((5-substituted-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)methyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothieno[3,2-c]pyridines 5(a–i) has been synthesized from thienopyridine hydrazide, substituted aromatic nitriles using 4-dimethylaminopyridine(DMAP) as a catalyst under microwave irradiation and evaluated for their in vitro antifungal activity. Compound 5g is found to be more potent against Candida albicans when compared with miconazole. Docking study of the newly synthesized compounds was performed, and results showed good binding mode in the active site of fungal enzyme P450 cytochrome lanosterol 14 ademethylase. ADMET properties of synthesized compounds were also analyzed and showed good drug like properties. The results of in vitro antifungal activity, docking study and ADMET prediction revealed that the synthesized compounds have potential antifungal activity and can be further optimized and developed as a lead compound.Jaiprakash N. 3Traveling wave solutions to some nonlinear fractional partial differential equations through the rational(G'/G)-expansion method显示文摘In this article, the analytical solutions to the space-time fractional foam drainage equation and the space-time fractional symmetric regu-larized long wave(SRLW)equation are successfully examined by the recently established rational(G/G)-expansion method. The suggested equations are reduced into the nonlinear ordinary differential equations with the aid of the fractional complex transform.Consequently, the theories of the ordinary differential equations are implemented effectively.Three types closed form traveling wave solutions, such as hyper-bolic function, trigonometric function and rational, are constructed by using the suggested method in the sense of conformable fractional derivative. The obtained solutions might be significant to analyze the depth and spacing of parallel subsurface drain and small-amplitude long wave on the surface of the water in a channel. It is observed that the performance of the rational(G/G)-expansion method is reliable and will be used to establish new general closed form solutions for any other NPDEs of fractional order.Tarikul Islam M.Ali Akbar Abul Kalam Azad 2018Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2018,3,1:5
Difficult-to-culture bacteria in the rhizosphere:The underexplored signature microbial groups显示文摘Microorganisms represent a substantial portion of the earth’s biodiversity and biomass, and the plant rhizosphere is an innate reservoir teeming with heterogeneous microbes predominated by bacterial communities. Rhizospheric microbial diversity (genetic, phenotypic, and metabolic) has been extensively studied to understand the key ecological roles played by the microbial members, including plant growth promotion. The application of 16S rRNA gene sequencing and next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies has revolutionized the discovery of novel bacterial groups that have remained undetected by traditional cultivation-based approaches. Such technological advancements have opened new vistas in our current understanding of predominant but concealed and missed bacterial diversity referred to as difficult-to-culture bacterial lineages, especially the predominant phyla Acidobacteria, Verrucomicrobia,Planctomycetes, and Gemmatimonadetes. Regardless of their ubiquity and prevalence, little is known about their ecophysiology because of the non-availability of culturable members. More recently, there has been increased interest in understanding the cosmopolitan distribution and diversity of the difficult-to-culture bacteria, focusing on their role in driving complex plant-microbial interactions and mobilizing nutrients in soil and their potential as sources of novel bioactive metabolites. As an initial step, we review the distribution and significance of such bacterial phyla in soil, their ecophysiological roles, and their hidden plant growth promoting potential. The ability to select and deploy plant probiotic bacteria from the difficult-to-culture fraction of the bacterial community might open new avenues for improving crop health.Sadaf KALAM Anirban BASU Appa Rao PODILE 2022Pedosphere2022,32,1:4
Nigella sativa protects against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction by alleviating oxidative stress, biochemical alterations and histological damage显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the cardioprotective effect of Nigella sativa L.(N.sativa) in isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction(MI).Methods: Groups were treated with different doses of ethanol extract of N.sativa(EENS)and N.sativa oil alone and along with enalapril for 28 days.MI was induced by subcutaneous administration of isoproterenol(85 mg/kg) in two consecutive doses.Levels of cardiac biomarkers and antioxidant enzymes such as creatine kinase–N-acetyl-L-cysteine, lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase, reduced glutathione and catalase were evaluated along with gross histopathological examination. Results: Isoproterenol(85 mg/kg) induced MI by causing the significant(P < 0.01)reduction in the activity of cardiac biomarkers(creatine kinase–N-acetyl-L-cysteine,lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase) and antioxidant markers(superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione) along with significant(P < 0.01) increase in the level of malondialdehyde.Furthermore, histopathological evaluation also confirmed the isoproterenol-induced MI.Pretreatment with EENS(800 mg/kg) and combination of EENS(800 mg/kg) with enalapril(1 mg/kg) significantly(P < 0.01) prevented the development of these alteration and restored activity of cardiac biomarkers as well as antioxidant markers almost near to normal levels.Histopathological evaluation of cardiac tissue further confirmed the restoration of biochemical activity. Conclusions: Experimental findings thus indicate that EENS(800 mg/kg) demonstrated cardioprotective effect against isoproterenol-induced MI by restoring cardiac biomarkers and antioxidant status.Md.Quamrul Hassan Mohd.Akhtar Sayeed Ahmed Aftab Ahmad Abul Kalam Najmi 2017Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2017,7,4:4

In vivo anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone(VSC) against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC) cells in Swiss albino mice. Methods:The compound VSC at three doses(5, 7.5 and 10 mg/kg i.p.) was administered into the intraperitoneal cavity of the EAC inoculated mice to observe its efficiency by studying the cell growth inhibition, reduction of tumour weight, enhancement of survival time as well as the changes in depleted hematological parameters. Allsuch parameters were also studied with a known standard drug bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.).Results:Among the doses studied, 10 mg/kg(i.p.) was found to be quite comparable in potency to that of bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.). The host toxic effects of VSC was found to be negligible. Conclusions:It can be concluded that VSC can therefore be considered as potent anticancer agent.Shaikh M Mohsin Ali M Abul Kalam Azad Mele Jesmin Shamim Ahsan M Mijanur Rahman Jahan Ara Khanam M Nazrul Islam Sha M Shahan Shahriar 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,6:2

Genetically engineered organisms for bioremediation of pollutants in contaminated sites显示文摘Environmental pollution is a major problem which affects biodiversity, public health and ecosystems worldwide. This issue cannot currently be solved using conventional technology because these treatments are expensive, ineffective and time consuming.Conventional methods focus unduly on the separation, rather than the destruction of contaminants. The use of genetically engineered organisms for bioremediation would be an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective alternative for the management and remediation of pollutants in contaminated sites.Different types of genetically engineered microbes have been developed through recombinant DNA and RNA technologies, these have been utilized for the removal of heavy metals and toxic substances from contaminated sites.Transgenic plants can also mobilize or degrade chlorinated solvent, xenobiotic compounds, explosives and phenolic substances.A symbiotic relationship between genetic engineered microbes and transgenic plants can enhance the effectiveness of bioremediation of contaminated sites. This review examines recent developments in the use of genetically engineered microbes and transgenic plants for the bioremediation of contaminated sites. This review will also identify the environmental factors which influence bioremediation by genetically engineered microbes and transgenic plants as well as suggesting future directions for research in these areas.Md.Abul Kalam Azad Latifah Amin Nik Marzuki Sidik 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,8:2
