| 2 | Effects of Duhuojisheng Tang and combined therapies on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc:a systematic review of randomized control trails显示文摘OBJECTIVE:A systematic review of the literature was conducted to evaluate the curative effect and safety of Duhuojisheng Tang on prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc.METHODS:The databases of PubMed,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chinese Scientific Journals Database(VIP),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM) and Chinese Medical Citation Index(CMCI) were searched up to January 30,2012.Randomized controlled trials were selected to compare Duhuojisheng Tang with one or more of the following treatments:traction,acupuncture,massage,cupping and Western medical treatment.The quality-evaluating standard and the software RevMan 5.1 in Cochrane coordinative net were used to analyze the data.The effective indexes of the results were clinical curative rate,effectiveness of alleviating clinical symptoms and adverse reaction.RESULTS:Thirty-one randomized controlled trials of low quality,involving 3915 patients were systematically evaluated.Statistical analyses showed that good curative effect was achieved in both the group using Duhuojisheng Tang alone and with combined therapies.CONCLUSION:Using Duhuojisheng Tang alone or combined with other therapies can effectively improve pain,leg-raising height and other clinical symptoms of patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.Due to low methodological quality of the articles,no exact recommendations can be made. | Yanxu Ma Minghua Huang Jingyan Cui Kai Meng Yuhao Zhao | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 27 |

| 5 | YAP promotes osteogenesis and suppresses adipogenic differentiation by regulatingβ-catenin signaling显示文摘YAP(yes-associated protein) is a transcriptional factor that is negatively regulated by Hippo pathway, a conserved pathway for the development and size control of multiple organs. The exact function of YAP in bone homeostasis remains controversial. Here we provide evidence for YAP's function in promoting osteogenesis, suppressing adipogenesis, and thus maintaining bone homeostasis.YAP is selectively expressed in osteoblast(OB)-lineage cells. Conditionally knocking out Yap in the OB lineage in mice reduces cell proliferation and OB differentiation and increases adipocyte formation, resulting in a trabecular bone loss. Mechanistically, YAP interacts with β-catenin and is necessary for maintenance of nuclear β-catenin level and Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Expression of β-catenin in YAP-deficient BMSCs(bone marrow stromal cells) diminishes the osteogenesis deficit. | 7 | Spatial distribution and focal mechanism solutions of the Wenchuan earthquake series:Results and implications显示文摘We relocate the spatial distribution of the devastating 12 May 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershocks.The relocation database is obtained from 89 stations deployed by the China Earthquake Administration,including 54 525 seismograms from 1 376 local earthquakes over MS3.5 between 12 May 2008 and 3 August 2008.The cross-correlation technique used in this paper has greatly improved the relocation precision by giving much more accurate P-wave differential travel-time measurements than those obtained from routinely picked phase onsets.At the same time,we pick P-wave polarity observations of the Wenchuan earthquake series (hereafter referred to as WES) from 1 023 stations in China and 59 IRIS (Incorporated Research Institutions of Seismology) stations.Then,employing a newly developed program CHNYTX,we obtain 83 well-determined focal mechanism solutions (hereafter referred to as FMSs).Based on spatial distribution and FMSs of the WES,we draw following conclusions:(1) The region near the main shock exhibits a buried low-angle northwest-dipping seismic zone with the main shock at its upper end and two conjugated seismic zones dipping southeast with roughly equal dip-angle;(2) The compressional directions of all kinds of FMSs of the WES are subhorizontal,which reflects the dominant stress in this area is compressional;(3) The principal compressional direction of the regional stress around Wenchuan is roughly perpendicular to the strike of Beichuan-Yingxiu fault,while around Qingchuan it is roughly parallel to the strike of Qingchuan fault.In intermediate part of the Longmenshan area,the principal compressional direction of the stress should be in-between;(4) The possibly existed molten materials in the lower crust of Songpan-Garze terrain have small contribution to the local stress state in Longmenshan area.The listric geometries of the Longmenshan faults most probably resulted from subhorizontal compression along NW-SE direction in history. | Chen Cai Chunquan Yu Kai Tao Xingping Hu Yuan Tian Hao Zhang Xiaofeng Cui Jieyuan Ning | 2011 | Earthquake Science2011,24,1: | 13 |

| 9 | The effect of conical flowfields on the performance of waveriders at Mach 6显示文摘The performance of 23 kinds of waveriders, derived from different conical flowfields, is analyzed by the numerical computation under the conditions of fight speed of Mach 6, attack angle of 0° and flight alti- tude of 30 km. These results indicate that the performance is influenced by the shapes and the width to height ratios (W/H ) of generating cones. The geometrical parameter and the lift coefficient are propor- tional to W/H, while the drag coefficient and the lift to drag ratio (L/D ) have extreme values. Considering the base drag and the computation errors, the waverider with the highest L/D is cut from the elliptical cone’s flowfield (W/H = 1.5―1.618), and the configuration with the lowest drag can also be obtained at W/H = 1:1.5. | 11 | Conceptual design and aerodynamic evaluation of hypersonic airplane with double flanking air inlets显示文摘To aim at design requirements of high lift-to-drag ratio as well as high volumetric efficiency of next generation hypersonic airplanes,a body-wing-blending configuration with double flanking air inlets layout is presented.Moreover,a novel forebody design methodology which by rotating and assembling two waverider-based surfaces is firstly introduced in this paper.Some typical configurations are designed and their aerodynamic performances are evaluated by computational fluid dynamics.The results for forebodies analysis show that large volumetric efficiency,high lift-to-drag ratio,and uniformly distributed flowfield at the inlet cross section can be assured simultaneously.Furthermore,results of numerical simulation of four integrated configurations with various leading edge shapes,including three power-law curves and a cosine curve clearly show the advantage of high lift-to-drag ratio.Besides,the high pressure generated by the side wall of the airframe can be partly captured by the reasonably designed wings in the condition of small flight attack angle.Then the order of lift-to-drag ratio of four configurations at 0 degree flight attack angle is completely different from the condition of 4-degree flight attack angle.This result demonstrates that the curve shape of the leading edge is very important for the lift-to-drag ratio of the aircraft,and it should be further optimized under the cruising attack angle in future work. | CUI Kai HU ShouChao LI GuangLi QU ZhiPeng SITU Ming | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,8: | 10 |

| 14 | The gut microbial metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid, alleviates hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury via mitigation of macrophage pro-inflammatory activity in mice显示文摘Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury(HIRI) is a serious complication that occurs following shock and/or liver surgery. Gut microbiota and their metabolites are key upstream modulators of development of liver injury. Herein, we investigated the potential contribution of gut microbes to HIRI.Ischemia/reperfusion surgery was performed to establish a murine model of HIRI. 16 S r RNA gene sequencing and metabolomics were used for microbial analysis. Transcriptomics and proteomics analysis were employed to study the host cell responses. Our results establish HIRI was significantly increased when surgery occurred in the evening(ZT12, 20:00) when compared with the morning(ZT0, 08:00);however, antibiotic pretreatment reduced this diurnal variation. The abundance of a microbial metabolite3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid was significantly higher in ZT0 when compared with ZT12 in the gut and this compound significantly protected mice against HIRI. Furthermore, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid suppressed the macrophage pro-inflammatory response in vivo and in vitro. This metabolite inhibits histone deacetylase activity by reducing its phosphorylation. Histone deacetylase inhibition suppressed macrophage pro-inflammatory activation and diminished the diurnal variation of HIRI. Our findings revealed a novel protective microbial metabolite against HIRI in mice. | 18 | SERK Receptor-like Kinases Control Division Patterns of Vascular Precursors and Ground Tissue Stem Cells during Embryo Development in Arabidopsis显示文摘During embryo development, the vascular precursors and ground tissue stem cells divide to renew them-selves and produce the vascular tissue, endodermal cells, and cortical cells. However, the molecular mech-anisms regulating division of these stem cells have remained largely elusive. In this study, we show that loss of function of SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS RECEPTOR-UKE KINASE (SERK) genes results in aberrant em-bryo development. Fewer cortical, endodermal, and vascular cells are generated in the embryos of serk1 serk2bak1 triple mutants. WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMBOBOX5 (WOXS) is ectopically expressed in vascular cells of serkl serk2 bak1 embryos. The first transverse division of vascular precursors in mid-globular em-bryos and second asymmetric division of ground tissue stem cells in early-heart embryos are abnormally altered to a longitudinal division. The embryo defects can be partially rescued by constitutively activated mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) kinase kinase YODA (YDA) and MAPK kinase MKK5. | 19 | Effects of nitrogen form on growth,CO_2 assimilation,chlorophyll fluorescence,and photosynthetic electron allocation in cucumber and rice plants显示文摘Cucumber and rice plants with varying ammonium (NH4+) sensitivities were used to examine the effects of different nitrogen (N) sources on gas exchange, chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence quenching, and photosynthetic electron allocation. Compared to nitrate (NO3-)-grown plants, cucumber plants grown under NH4+-nutrition showed decreased plant growth, net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, intercellular carbon dioxide (CO2) level, transpiration rate, maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II, and O2-independent alternative electron flux, and increased O2-dependent alternative electron flux. However, the N source had little effect on gas exchange, Chl a fluorescence parameters, and photosynthetic electron allocation in rice plants, except that NH4+-grown plants had a higher O2-independent alternative electron flux than NO3--grown plants. NO3- reduction activity was rarely detected in leaves of NH4+-grown cucumber plants, but was high in NH4+-grown rice plants. These results demonstrate that significant amounts of photosynthetic electron transport were coupled to NO3- assimilation, an effect more significant in NO3-- grown plants than in NH4+-grown plants. | 20 | Comparison of neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery vs.surgery alone for locally advanced gastric cancer:a meta-analysis显示文摘Background:The neoadjuvant chemotherapy is increasingly used in advanced gastric cancer,but the effects on safety and survival are still controversial.The objective of this meta-analysis was to compare the overall survival and short-term surgical outcomes between neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery(NACS)and surgery alone(SA)for locally advanced gastric cancer.Methods:Databases(PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,and Google Scholar)were explored for relative studies from January 2000 to January 2021.The quality of randomized controlled trials and cohort studies was evaluated using the modified Jadad scoring system and the Newcastle-Ottawa scale,respectively.The Review Manager software(version 5.3)was used to perform this meta-analysis.The overall survival was evaluated as the primary outcome,while perioperative indicators and post-operative complications were evaluated as the secondary outcomes.Results:Twenty studies,including 1420 NACS cases and 1942 SA cases,were enrolled.The results showed that there were no significant differences in overall survival(P=0.240),harvested lymph nodes(P=0.200),total complications(P=0.080),and 30-day post-operative mortality(P=0.490)between the NACS and SA groups.However,the NACS group was associated with a longer operation time(P<0.0001),a higher R0 resection rate(P=0.003),less reoperation(P=0.030),and less anastomotic leakage(P=0.007)compared with SA group.Conclusions:Compared with SA,NACS was considered safe and feasible for improved R0 resection rate as well as decreased reoperation and anastomotic leakage.While unbenefited overall survival indicated a less important effect of NACS on long-term oncological outcomes. | Jian-Hong Yu Zao-Zao Wang Ying-Chong Fan Mao-Xing Liu Kai Xu Nan Zhang Zhen-Dan Yao Hong Yang Cheng-Hai Zhang Jia-Di Xing Ming Cui Xiang-Qian Su | 2021 | Chinese Medical Journal2021,,14: | 6 |
