1Characterization of Hand,Foot,and Mouth Disease in China between 2008 and 2009显示文摘Objective To investigate the epidemiological and clinical features of hand,foot and mouth disease (HFMD) since several outbreaks of HFMD caused by enteroviruses were documented in China between 2007 and 2008.Methods HFMD cases reported to the National Infectious Disease Information Management System database between May 2008 and April 2009 were assessed.Clinical features in some of the severe and fatal cases were analyzed the etiology of the outbreaks was investigated.Results 89.1% of reported HFMD cases were found in children<5 year‐old with an age‐specific incidence rate of 834.1/100 000 in the first year as the notifiable disease in China from May 2008 to April 2009.The incidence,mortality and percentage of severe cases were studied for three regions of China and found to be highest in the central region.The incidence of severe cases and mortality in rural population were significantly higher than those in urban population.Among the laboratory confirmed EV17 positive cases there were 52.6% mild,83.5% severe,and 96.1% fatal cases.More myoclonic jerks were found in the severe case group than in group that died.Tachypnea,lip purpling,pink foaming and low limb temperature occurred more frequently in the fatal cases than in the severe cases.Conclusion The epidemic of HFMD in China was characterized predominantly by EV71 infections,had relatively high mortality rates especially in the central region,and was most prevalent in young,rural populations.ZHANG Jing SUN JunLing CHANG ZhaoRui ZHANG WeiDong WANG ZiJun FENG ZiJian 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,3:74

3Characteristics of one-year observation of VOCs,NOx, and O_3 at an urban site in Wuhan, China显示文摘A continuous online observation of ozone and its precursors(NOx, VOCs) was carried out in central urban Wuhan from September 2016 to August 2017. The concentration levels of ozone,NOx, VOCs and their variations in urban Wuhan were analyzed, as well as effects of VOCs on ozone photochemical generation and the main controlling factors for ozone production. During the observation period, the average concentrations of ozone and NOx in Wuhan was 22.63 and30.14 ppbv, respectively, and the average concentration of VOCs was 32.61 ppbv(42.3% alkanes,13.0% alkenes, 10.0% aromatics, 7.3% acetylene, 9.9% OVOCs, and 10.5% halohydrocarbons).Ozone concentration was higher in spring and summer as compared with autumn and winter,wheras VOCs and NOx concentratios were lower in spring and summer but higher in autumn and winter. Aromatics and alkenes, two of VOCs species, showed the highest contributions to ozone formation potential in Wuhan(35.7% alkenes, 35.4 aromatics, 17.5% alkanes, 8.6% OVOCs,1.6% halogenated hydrocarbons, and 1.4% acetylene). Among all VOCs species, those with the highest contribution were ethylene, m-xylene, toluene, propylene and o-xylene. 4Chemical characterization of size-resolved aerosols in four seasons and hazy days in the megacity Beijing of China显示文摘Size-resolved aerosol samples were collected by MOUDI in four seasons in 2007 in Beijing. The PM10 and PM1.8mass concentrations were 166.0 ± 120.5 and 91.6 ± 69.7 μg/m^3, respectively,throughout the measurement, with seasonal variation: nearly two times higher in autumn than in summer and spring. Serious fine particle pollution occurred in winter with the PM1.8/PM10 ratio of 0.63, which was higher than other seasons. The size distribution of PM showed obvious seasonal and diurnal variation, with a smaller fine mode peak in spring and in the daytime. OM(organic matter = 1.6 × OC(organic carbon)) and SIA(secondary inorganic aerosol) were major components of fine particles, while OM, SIA and Ca_2+were major components in coarse particles. Moreover, secondary components, mainly SOA(secondary organic aerosol) and SIA,accounted for 46%–96% of each size bin in fine particles, which meant that secondary pollution existed all year. Sulfates and nitrates, primarily in the form of(NH_4)_2SO_4, NH_4NO_3, Ca SO_4, Na_2SO_4 and K_2SO_4, calculated by the model ISORROPIA II, were major components of the solid phase in fine particles. The PM concentration and size distribution were similar in the four seasons on non-haze days, while large differences occurred on haze days, which indicated seasonal variation of PM concentration and size distribution were dominated by haze days. 5Wheat breeding in northern China: Achievements and technical advances显示文摘Common wheat is the major cereal crop that underpins the food safety of China. Both winter wheat and spring wheat are grown on ~24 million ha. This review aims to summarize the current status of wheat production and breeding progress in the northern wheat production areas of the country, and to review recently advanced technologies being applied in wheat breeding, including the use of dwarf-male-sterile(DMS) wheat, speed breeding and specialized wheat breeding SNP chips. Crossing is the initial step in most breeding programs. DMS wheat is a convenient tool for large scale production of hybrid seed. Speed breeding or accelerated generation turnover attempts to reduce the time taken in cultivar development. 8Stable Initialization Scheme for K-Means Clustering显示文摘Though K-means is very popular for general clustering, its performance, which generally converges to numerous local minima, depends highly on initial cluster centers. In this paper a novel initialization scheme to select initial cluster centers for K-means clustering is proposed. This algorithm is based on reverse nearest neighbor (RNN) search which retrieves all points in a given data set whose nearest neighbor is a given query point. The initial cluster centers computed using this methodology are found to be very close to the desired cluster centers for iterative cluster-ing algorithms. This procedure is applicable to clustering algo-rithms for continuous data. The application of the proposed algo-rithm to K-means clustering algorithm is demonstrated. 11Lattice Boltzmann simulation of fluid flow through coal reservoir's fractal pore structure显示文摘The influences of fractal pore structure in coal reservoir on coalbed methane(CBM) migration were analyzed in detail by coupling theoretical models and numerical methods.Different types of fractals were generated based on the construction thought of the standard Menger Sponge to model the 3D nonlinear coal pore structures.Then a correlation model between the permeability of fractal porous medium and its pore-size-distribution characteristics was derived using the parallel and serial modes and verified by Lattice Boltzmann Method(LBM).Based on the coupled method,porosity(ф),fractal dimension of pore structure(Db),pore size range(rmin,rmax) and other parameters were systematically analyzed for their influences on the permeability(ф) of fractal porous medium.The results indicate that:① the channels connected by pores with the maximum size(rmax) dominate the permeability,approximating in the quadratic law;② the greater the ratio of r max and r min is,the higher is;③ the relationship between D b and follows a negative power law model,and breaks into two segments at the position where Db ≌2.5.Based on the results above,a predicting model of fractal porous medium permeability was proposed,formulated as k=cfrnmax,where C and n(approximately equal to 2) are constants and f is an expression only containing parameters of fractal pore structure.In addition,the equivalence of the new proposed model for porous medium and the Kozeny-Carman model k=Crn was verified at Db =2.0.JIN Yi SONG HuiBo HU Bin ZHU YiBo ZHENG JunLing 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,9:15
12One-Pot Synthesis of Highly Luminescent CdTe Quantum Dots by Microwave Irradiation Reduction and Their Hg^(2+)-Sensitive Properties显示文摘A facile one-pot microwave irradiation reduction route has been developed for the synthesis of highly luminescent CdTe quantum dots using Na_(2)TeO_(3) as the Te source in an aqueous environment.The synthesis parameters of this simple and rapid approach,including the reaction temperature and time,the pH of the reaction solution and the molar ratio of the 3-mercaptopropionic acid(MPA)stabilizer to Cd^(2+),have considerable influence on the particle size and photoluminescence quantum yield of the CdTe quantum dots.The photoluminescence quantum yield of CdTe quantum dots prepared using relatively short reaction times(1040 min)reached 40%60%(emission peaks at 550640 nm).Furthermore,the resulting products could be used as fl uorescent probes to detect Hg^(2+)ions in aqueous media.The response was linearly proportional to the concentration of Hg^(2+)ion in the range 8.0×10^(9)mol/L to 2.0×10^(6)mol/L with a detection limit of 2.7×10^(9)mol/L.Junling Duan Lianxiang Song Jinhua Zhan 2009Nano Research2009,2,1:14
13Insight of the stability and activity of platinum single atoms on ceria显示文摘Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have recently attracted broad attention in the catalysis field due to their maximized atom efficiency and unique catalytic properties.An atomic-level understanding of the interaction between the metal atoms and support is vital for developing stable and high-performance SACs.In this work,Pt1 single atoms with Ioadings up to 4 wt.% were fabricated on ceria nanorods using the atomic layer deposition technique.To understand the Pt-O-Ce bond interfacial interactions,the stability of Pt1 single atoms in the hydrogen reducing environment was extensively investigated by using in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy CO chemisorption measurements.It was found that ceria defect sites,metal Ioadings and high-temperature calcination are effective ways to tune the stability of Pt1 single atoms in the hydrogen environment.X-ray photoemission spectroscopy further showed that Pt1 single atoms on ceria are dominantly at a +2 valence state at the defect and step edge sites,while those on terrace sites are at a +4 state.The above tailored stability and electronic properties of Pt1 single atoms are found to be strongly correlated with the catalytic activity in the dry and water-mediated CO oxidation reactions.Xuxu Ye Hengwei Wang Yue Lin Xinyu Liu Lina Cao Jian Gu Junling Lu 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:13
14Effects of NO_x and VOCs from Five Emission Sources on Summer Surface O_3 over the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Region显示文摘The impacts of emissions from industry, power plant, transportation, residential, and biogenic sources on daily maximum surface ozone(O3DM) over the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei(BTH) region in North China in the summer of 2007 were examined in a modeling study. The modeling system consisted of the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model and the photochemical dispersion model, CAMx. The factor separation technique(FST) was used to quantify the effect of individual emission source types and the synergistic interactions among two or more types. Additionally, the effectiveness of emission reduction scenarios was explored. The industry, power plant, and transportation emission source types were found to be the most important in terms of their individual effects on O3DM. The key contributor to high surface O3was power plant emissions, with a peak individual effect of 40 ppbv in the southwestern BTH area. The individual effect from the biogenic emission category was quite low. The synergistic effects from the combinations of each pair of anthropogenic emission types suppressed O3formation, while the synergistic effects for combinations of three were favorable for O3formation when the industrial and power plant emission source types coexisted. The quadruple synergistic effects were positive only with the combination of power plant, transportation, residential, and biogenic sources, while the quintuple synergistic effect showed only minor impacts on O3DMconcentrations. A 30% reduction in industrial and transportation sources produced the most effective impacts on O3concentrations, with a maximum decrease of 20 ppbv. 15Characteristics and formation mechanism of regional haze episodes in the Pearl River Delta of China显示文摘To investigate the characteristics and the specific mechanism of continuous haze,comprehensive measurements were conducted from 15 October to 19 November in the Atmospheric Environment Monitoring Super-Station in Heshan of Guangdong province.Five haze episodes occurred in October and November 2014 in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region. The meteorological parameters, gas data, chemical compositions, and optical parameters of the aerosols were obtained. Among these events, the second haze episode,with the highest concentration of PM2.5 of 187.51 μg/m^3, was the most severe. NO^3-was always higher than SO_4^(2-), which indicated that motor vehicles played an important role in the haze, even though the oxidation rate from SO_2 to SO_4^(2-)was faster than that of NOXto NO_3^-. The difference between the hourly averages of Na+and K+during the haze episode and clean days was small, implying that straw combustion and sea salt had no significant effect on the occurrence of haze, and the backward trajectories of the air masses also conformed with this result. The air pollutants were difficult to disperse because of the significant decrease in the planetary boundary layer(PBL) height. 16High degree of pharmacokinetic compatibility exists between the five-herb medicine XueBiJing and antibiotics comedicated in sepsis care显示文摘Managing the dysregulated host response to infection remains a major challenge in sepsis care. Chinese treatment guideline recommends adding Xue Bi Jing, a five-herb medicine, to antibioticbased sepsis care. Although adding Xue Bi Jing further reduced 28-day mortality via modulating the host response, pharmacokinetic herbedrug interaction is a widely recognized issue that needs to be studied.Building on our earlier systematic chemical and human pharmacokinetic investigations of Xue Bi Jing, we evaluated the degree of pharmacokinetic compatibility for Xue Bi Jing/antibiotic combination based on mechanistic evidence of interaction risk. Considering both Xue Bi Jing-antibiotic and antibiotic-Xue Bi Jing interaction potential, we integrated informatics-based approach with experimental approach and developed a compound pair-based method for data processing. To reflect clinical reality, we selected for study Xue Bi Jing compounds bioavailable for drug interactions and 45 antibiotics commonly used in sepsis care in China. Based on the data of interacting with drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters, no Xue Bi Jing compound could pair, as perpetrator, with the antibiotics. Although some antibiotics could,due to their inhibition of uridine 50-diphosphoglucuronosyltransferase 2 B15, organic anion transporters1/2 and/or organic anion-transporting polypeptide 1 B3, pair with senkyunolide I, tanshinol and salvianolic acid B, the potential interactions(resulting in increased exposure) are likely desirable due to these Xue Bi Jing compounds’ low baseline exposure levels. Inhibition of aldehyde dehydrogenase by 7 antibiotics probably results in undesirable reduction of exposure to protocatechuic acid from Xue Bi Jing.Collectively, Xue Bi Jing/antibiotic combination exhibited a high degree of pharmacokinetic compatibility at clinically relevant doses. 19Anlotinib suppresses lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis in lung adenocarcinoma through a process potentially involving VEGFR-3 signaling显示文摘Objective:Lymphatic metastasis is one of the leading causes of malignancy dispersion in various types of cancer.However,few anti-lymphangiogenic drugs have been approved for clinical use to date.Therefore,new therapies to block lymphangiogenesis are urgently required.Methods:Immunohistochemistry,immunofluorescence,Western blot,migration assays,and lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis assays were used.Results:Anlotinib,a receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor,suppressed the rate of new metastatic lesions(31.82%in the placebo arm and 18.18%in the anlotinib arm)in patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma who were enrolled in our ALTER-0303 study.D2-40+-lymphatic vessel density was strongly correlated with disease stage,metastasis,and poor prognosis in 144 Chinese patients with lung adenocarcinoma.In mice bearing A549EGFP tumors,tumor lymphatic vessel density,tumor cell migration to lymph nodes,and the number of distant metastatic lesions were lower in the anlotinib group than in the controls.Anlotinib inhibited the growth and migration of human lymphatic endothelial cells(hLECs)and lymphangiogenesisin vitro andin vivo.Treatment of hLECs with anlotinib downregulated phosphorylated vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3(VEGFR-3).Conclusions:Anlotinib inhibits lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis,probably through inactivating VEGFR-3 phosphorylation.The results indicate that anlotinib may be beneficial for treatment in avoiding lymphangiogenesis and distant lymphatic metastasis in lung adenocarcinoma.(Trial registration:ALTER0303;NCT02388919;March 17,2015.)Tingting Qin Zhujun Liu Jing Wang Junling Xia Shaochuan Liu Yanan Jia Hailin Liu Kai Li 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:9
20Detection of ALK translocation in non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC) and its clinicopathological significance using the Ventana immunohistochemical staining method: a single-center large-scale investigation of 1,504 Chinese Han patients显示文摘Objective: The novel fully automated immunohistochemistry(IHC) assay-Ventana anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-D5F3 for screening ALK rearrangements has been approved by China's Food and Drug Administration in 2013, our previous study disclosed a highly specificity and sensitivity nearly 100%, and its efficacy needs to be evaluated in a large cohort of primary lung adenocarcinoma patients, and to compare clinicopathological features with ALK(+) and ALK(-) lung adenocarcinoma.Methods: A total of 1,504 consecutive surgical lung adenocarcinoma cases of Chinese Han population were collected and re-diagnosed according to the 2011 multidisciplinary classification of lung adenocarcinoma.Fully automated Ventana ALK-D5F3 IHC staining with a binary scoring was adopted to evaluate staining and correlated with clinicopathological characters, including age, sex, differentiation degree, histological subtype, lymph node metastasis, and clinical staging.ALK(+) patients were followed-up, and targeted therapy of ALKinhibitors was adopted and observed in patients with stage Ⅳ according to the NCCN guideline.Results: ALK positive adenocarcinomas were identified in 6.6% of the surgically resected 1,504 NSCLCs, and significantly younger than the negative group(P<0.05).Mucinous adenocarcinoma(28.2%) was determined to be predominant in ALK(+) cases, followed by the solid type(11.7%), specific type(6.8%), papillary type(5.6%), acinar type(5.5%), and lepidic type(3.1%), and the differences were statistically significant(χ~2=42.011, P<0.05).ALK(+) adenocarcinoma with lymph node metastasis(10.8%) were significantly higher than that without lymph node metastasis(4.5%)(χ~2=19.809, P<0.05); and ALK(+) in phase Ⅳ(20%) was significantly higher than phase Ⅲ(12.9%), phase Ⅱ(4.2%), phase Ⅰ(4.5%), and phase 0(0)(χ~2=36.068, P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression disclosed that patient age, AJCC staging, and histological mucinous subtype were correlated with ALK positive staining(OR=0.959, 1.578, 5.036, respectively).Sixty eight patients had followed-up results, five patients out of which primarily diagnosed or progressed into Stage Ⅳ benefited well from targeted therapy with Crizotinib.Conclusions: The ALK fusion protein was seen in 6.6% Chinese NSCLC patients, and mostly seen in younger, clinically higher staging, mucinous and solid predominant adenocarcinoma.Clinical trials in patients of Stage Ⅳ confirmed that ALK-D5F3 Ventana IHC is serviceable in screening ALK-positive candidates for molecular targeted therapy.Lin Yang Yun Ling Lei Guo Di Ma Xuemin Xue Bingning Wang Junling Li Jianming Ying 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:8
