Impacts of climate change on ecosystem in Priority Areas of Biodiversity Conservation in China显示文摘Priority Areas of Biodiversity Conservation(PABCs) are the key areas for future biodiversity conservation in China. In this study, we used 5 dynamic global vegetation models(DGVMs) to simulate the ecosystem function changes under future climate change scenario in the 32 terrestrial PABCs. We selected vegetation coverage, vegetation productivity, and ecosystem carbon balance as the indicators to describe the ecosystem function changes. The results indicate that woody vegetation coverage will greatly increase in the Loess Plateau Region, the North China Plain, and the Lower Hilly Region of South China. The future climate change will have great impact on the original vegetation in alpine meadow and arid and semiarid regions. The vegetation productivity of most PABCs will enhance in the coming 100 years. The largest increment will take place in the southwestern regions with high elevation. The PABCs in the Desert Region of InnerMongolia-Xinjiang Plateau are with fastest productivity climbing, and these areas are also with more carbon sink accumulation in the future. DGVM will be a new efficient tool for evaluating ecosystem function changes in future in large scale. This study is expected to provide technical support for the future ecosystem management and biodiversity conservation under climate change. | Xiaopu Wu Xin Lin Yuan Zhang Junjing Gao Li Guo Junsheng Li | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,34: | 4
Adsorption of methyl orange from aqueous solution by composite magnetic microspheres of chitosan and quaternary ammonium chitosan derivative显示文摘Novel composite magnetic microspheres containing chitosan and quaternary ammonium chitosan derivative(CHMMs) were prepared by inverse suspension method, and used for the methyl orange(MO) removal from aqueous solutions. The CHMMs were characterized by a scanning electron microscope,a transmission electron microscope, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, respectively.Compared with the chitosan beads, the incorporation of quaternary ammonium chitosan derivative significantly reduced the particle size. The MO adsorption by CHMMs was investigated by batch adsorption experiments. The adsorption kinetics was conformed to the pseudo second-order kinetics equation. The adsorption isotherm followed the Langmuir model better than the Freundlich model and the calculated maximum MO adsorption capacity was 266.6 mg·g^-1 at 293 K.Thermodynamic studies indicated that the MO adsorption was endothermic in nature with the enthalpy change(△H°) of 99.44 kJ·mol^-1.The CHMMs had a stable performance for MO adsorption in the pH range of 4-10,but high ionic strength deteriorated the MO removal due to the shielding of the ion exchange interaction.A 1 mol·L^-1 NaCl solution could be used to regenerate the exhausted CHMMs.The proposed CHMMs can be used as an effective adsorbent for dye removal or recovery from the dye wastewater. | Bin Zhao Xiaojing Sun Liang Wang Lixiang Zhao Zhaohui Zhang Junjing Li | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,8: | 3
Fabrication and characterization of SmO_(0.7)F_(0.2)FeAs bulk with a transition temperature of 56.5 K显示文摘The superconductivity of iron-based superconductor SmO 0.7 F 0.2 FeAs was investigated. The SmO 0.7 F 0.2 FeAs sample was prepared by the two-step solid-state reaction method. The onset resistivity transition temperature is as high as 56.5 K. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results show that the lattice parameters a and c are 0.39261 and 0.84751 nm, respectively. Furthermore, the global J c was more than 2.3 × 10 5 A/cm 2 at T = 10 K and H = 9 T, which was calculated by the formula of J c = 20ΔM/[a(1-a/(3b))]. The upper critical fields, H c2 ≈ 256 T (T = 0 K), was determined according to the Werthamer-Helfand-Hohenberg formula, indicating that the SmO 0.7 F 0.2 FeAs was a superconductor with a very promising application. | LIU Zhiyong MA Lin ZHAO Junjing YAN Binjie SUO Hongli | 2011 | Rare Metals2011,30,5: | 3
Hydrodynamic Analysis of C-start in Crucian Carp显示文摘The kinematics of turning maneuvers of startled Crucian Carp (Carassius auratus) are presented. All escape responses observed are C-type fast-starts. The position of the center of mass and the moment of inertia of the fish are calculated. The results show that the position of the center of mass is always at 35% of the length of the fish from the head and the position of the center of mass and moment of inertia can be considered unchanged during C-start of Crucian Carp. Hydrodynamic analysis of the C-start is given based on the kinematics data from our experiments. The C-start consists of three stages. In stage 1, the tail fin of fish rapidly flaps in one direction, and a large moment acts on the fish′s body, which rotates around the center of mass with an angular acceleration. In stage 2, the tail fin flaps more slowly in the opposite direction at slower speed, the fish′s body rotates around the center of mass with angular deceleration and the center of mass of the fish moves along an arc. In stage 3, the moment approximately equals zero, the fish′s body stops rotating and the center of mass the moves along a straight line. | JunJing XiezhenYin XiyunLu | 2004 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2004,1,2: | 2
Quantitative identification of crop disease and nitrogen-water stress in winter wheat using continuous wavelet analysis显示文摘It is necessary to quantitatively identify different diseases and nitrogen-water stress for the guidance in spraying specific fungicides and fertilizer applications. The winter wheat diseases,in combination with nitrogen-water stress, are therefore common causes of yield loss in winter wheat in China.Powdery mildew(Blumeria graminis)and stripe rust(Puccinia striiformis f.sp.Tritici)are two of the most prevalent winter wheat diseases in China. This study investigated the potential of continuous wavelet analysis to identify the powdery mildew, stripe rust and nitrogen-water stress using canopy hyperspectral data. The spectral normalization process was applied prior to the analysis.Independent t-tests were used to determine the sensitivity of the spectral bands and vegetation index. In order to reduce the number of wavelet regions, correlation analysis and the independent t-test were used in conjunction to select the features of greatest importance.Based on the selected spectral bands, vegetation indices and wavelet features, the discriminate models were established using Fisher’s linear discrimination analysis(FLDA)and support vector machine(SVM).The results indicated that wavelet features were superior to spectral bands and vegetation indices in classifying different stresses, with overall accuracies of 0.91,0.72,and 0.72 respectively for powdery mildew, stripe rust and nitrogen-water by using FLDA,and 0.79,0.67 and 0.65 respectively by using SVM.FLDA was more suitable for differentiating stresses in winter wheat, with respective accuracies of 78.1%,95.6%and 95.7%for powdery mildew, stripe rust, and nitrogen-water stress.Further analysis was performed whereby the wavelet features were then split into high-scale and low-scale feature subsets for identification. The accuracies of high-scale and low-scale features with an overall accuracy(OA)of 0.61 and 0.73 respectively were lower than those of all wavelet features with an OA of 0.88.The detection of the severity of stripe rust using this method showed an enhanced reliability(R^(2)=0.828). | Wenjiang Huang Junjing Lu Huichun Ye Weiping Kong A.Hugh Mortimer Yue Shi | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2: | 2
17α-Ethinylestradiol removal from water by magnetic ion exchange resin显示文摘Magnetic ion exchange(MIEX) resins have received considerable attention in drinking water treatment due to their fast and efficient removal of dissolved organic carbon(DOC). Two types of mechanisms, i.e., ion exchange, reversible and irreversible adsorption, may occur during pollutants removal by MIEX. This work examined the removal mechanism of 17α-Ethinylestradiol(EE2) by MIEX. As one of typical estrogen micro-pollutants,EE2 existed as neutral molecule in natural water, and its charge density was close to zero [(0.00000219 ±0.00000015) meq·(μg EE2)^(-1)] based on the potentiometric titration method. However, the removal of EE2 by MIEX was much higher than that of other micro-pollutants previously reported. Multi-cycle adsorptionregeneration experiments and ion exchange stoichiometry analysis were conducted to elucidate the removal mechanism of EE2 by MIEX resin. The results suggested that the main removal mechanism of EE2 by MIEX was ion exchange instead of reversible micro-pore adsorption. The experimental analysis based on Donnan theory indicated that the internal micro-environment of resin beads was alkaline, in the alkaline environment EE2 would be ionized into negatively charged groups. As a result, ion exchange reaction occurred inside the pore of MIEX resin, and the removal process of EE2 by MIEX was dominated by the ion exchange reaction. | Liang Wang Lu Liu Zhaohui Zhang Bin Zhao Junjing Li Bingjie Dong Nian Liu | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,4: | 2
Bifunctional copper modified graphitic carbon nitride catalysts for efficient tetracycline removal:Synergy of adsorption and photocatalytic degradation显示文摘In order to efficiently re move tetracycline in wastewater through the synergistic effect of adsorption and photocatalytic degradatio n,a series of novel composite materials(Cu doped g-C_(3)N_(4))were synthesized by two-pot hydrothermal method. It was found that the composite materials with optimized ratio(Cu/CN-1)displayed outstanding adsorption and photocatalytic performance as compared with pure g-C_(3)N_(4) photocatalyst. The removal efficiency of tetracycline(TC,50 mg/L)reached almost 99%within 30 min by Cu/CN-1 through the synergy of adsorption and photocatalysis under visible-light irradiation, which was the highest re moval efficiency ever reported. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms of TC on the Cu/CN-1 were well fitted with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir model, respectively. Moreover,it was confirmed that the main effective reactive groups were O_(2)^·and h^(+) in photocatalytic process. The Cu/CN-1 exhibited high stability and excellent reusability after five cycle experiments. Finally, the mechanism of synergy between Cu and g-C_(3)N_(4) was proposed:on the one hand, the decoration of Cu particles significantly increased the adsorption sites of Cu/CN-1 to tetracycline,on the other hand, the modification of Cu particles effectively inhibits charge recombination and broadens the visible light absorption range of the photocatalyst. This study provided a promising photocatalyst to be used for TC removal in the actual wastewater. | Huijing Wang Jun Zhang Pu Wang Linlin Yin Yu Tian Junjing Li | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10: | 2

Tracing the impact of stack configuration on interface resistances in reverse electrodialysis by in situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy显示文摘Reverse electrodialysis(RED)is an emerging membrane-based technology for the production of renewable energy from mixing waters with different salinities.Herein, the impact of the stack configuration on the Ohmic and non-Ohmic resistances as well as the performance of RED were systematically studied by using in situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).Three different parameters(membrane type, number of cell pairs and spacer design)were controlled. The Ohmic and non-Ohmic resistances were evaluated for RED stacks equipped with two types of commercial membranes(Type I and Type II)supplied by Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V:Type I Fuji membranes displayed higher Ohmic and non-Ohmic resistances than Type II membranes, which was mainly attributed to the difference in fixed charge density. The output power of the stack was observed to decrease with the increasing number of cell pairs mainly due to the increase in ionic shortcut currents. With the reduction in spacer thickness from 750 to 200μm,the permselectivity of membranes in the stack decreased from 0.86 to 0.79 whereas the energy efificiency losses increased from 31%to 49%.Overall,the output of the present study provides a basis for understanding the impact of stack design on internal losses during the scaling-up of RED. | Wenjuan Zhang Bo Han Ramato Ashu Tufa Chuyang Tang Xunuo Liu Ge Zhang Jing Chang Rui Zhang Rong Mu Caihong Liu Dan Song Junjing Li Jun Ma Yufeng Zhang | 2022 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,4: | 1

Loss of the centrosomal protein Cenpj leads to dysfunction of the hypothalamus and obesity in mice显示文摘Cenpj is a centrosomal protein located at the centrosomes and the base of cilia,it plays essential roles in regulating neurogenesis and cerebral cortex development.Although centrosomal and cilium dysfunction are one of the causes of obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes, the role that Cenpj plays in the regulation of body weight remains unclear. Here,we deleted Cenpj by crossing Cenpjflox/flox mice with Nkx2.1-Cre mice.Loss of the centrosomal protein Cenpj in Nkx2.1-expressing cells causes morbid obesity in mice at approximately 4 months of age with expended brain ventricles but no change of brain size.We found that hypothalamic cells exhibited reduced proliferation and increased apoptosis upon Cenpj depletion at the embryonic stages, resulting in a dramatic decrease in the number of Proopiomelanocortin(POMC)neurons and electrophysiological dysfunction of NPY neurons in the arcuate nucleus(ARC)in adults.Furthermore, depletion of Cenpj also reduced the neuronal projection from the ARC to the paraventricular nucleus(PVN),with decreased melanocortin-4 receptors(MC4R)expression in PVN neurons. The study defines the roles that Cenpj plays in regulating hypothalamus development and body weight, providing a foundation for further understanding of the pathological mechanisms of related diseases. | Wenyu Ding Changjiang Zhang Baisong Wang Xin Zhou Le Sun Suijuan Zhong Jing Liu Junjing Zhang Xiaoqun Wang Qian Wu | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,3: | 1

Rho 1 participates in parasitoid wasp eggs maturation and host cellular immunity inhibition显示文摘Endoparasitoid wasps introduce venom into their host insects during the egglaying stage.Venom proteins play various roles in the host physiology, development, immunity, and behavior manipulation and regulation. In this study,we identified a venom protein,MmRhol,a small guanine nucleotide-binding protein derived from ovary in the endoparasitoid wasp Microplitis mediator and found that knockdown of its expression by RNA interference caused down-regulation of vitellogenin and juvenile hormone, egg production, and cocoons formation in the female wasps. We demonstrated that MmRho1 entered the cotton bollworm's(host)hemocytes and suppressed cellular immune responses after parasitism using immunofluorescence staining.Furthermore, wasp MmRhol interacted with the cotton bollworm's actin cytoskeleton rearrangement regulator diaphanous by yeast 2-hybrid and glutathione s-transferase pull-down.In conclusion, this study indicates that MmRho1 plays dual roles in wasp development and the suppression of the host insect cellular immune responses. | Ruijuan Wang Zhe Lin Lizhen Zhou Caihua Chen Xianhao Yu Junje Zhang Zhen Zou Zhiqiang Lu | 2023 | Insect Science2023,30,3: | 1
