| 1 | Fixed Ammonium in Major Types of Paddy Soils in Hunan Province, China显示文摘The contents, affecting factors, seasonal changes and availability of fixed ammonium in major types ofpaddy soils derived from different parent materials in Hunan Province, China, were studied using the Silva-Bremner method by laboratory and pot experiments. Results showed that the content of fixed ammoniumin the plough horizons ranged from 88.3 mg kg-1 to 388.1 mg kg-1, with 273.2 ± 77.7 mg kg-1 on average,accounting for 11.2% of total soil N on average. Content of fixed ammonium decreased in the order of newlylacustrine clayey paddy soil > alluvial sandy paddy soil > purple clayey paddy soil > newly alluvial sandypaddy soil > yellow clayey paddy soil > reddish-yellow clayey paddy soil > granitic sandy paddy soil. Therewere four distribution patterns of fixed ammonium in the profiles to 1-m depth, i.e., increase with the depth,decrease with increasing depth, no distinct change with the depth, and abrupt increase or decrease in somehorizon. Percentage of fixed ammonium in total N increased with the depth in most of the soils. Fixationof NH4+ by soil was higher at 30 ℃ than at 20 ℃ and 40 ℃, and continuous submergence benefited thefixation of NH4+ in newly alluvial sandy paddy soil, purple clayey paddy soil and alluvial sandy paddy soil,while alternating wetting and drying contributed to the fixation of NH4+ in yellow clayey paddy soil mostly.Fixed ammonium content in the test paddy soils was significantly correlated with < 0.01 mm clay content(P < 0.05), but not with < 0.001 mm clay content, total N, organic N and organic matter. Fixed ammoniumcontent varied with rice growth stages. Application of N fertilizer promoted fixation of NH4+ by soil, and Nuptake by rice plant promoted release of fixed ammonium from the soil. | 7 | Extensional tectonics and North China Craton destruction:Insights from the magnetic susceptibility anisotropy(AMS)of granite and metamorphic core complex显示文摘The craton is a long-lived stable geologic unit on the Earth’s surface.However,since the Mesozoic,the North China Craton(NCC)experienced large-scale lithospheric removal,the fundamental change of physical and chemical characteristics of the lithospheric mantle,widely distributed crustal deformation,and extensive magmatism.This complex evolution contrary to other cratons is called the NCC destruction.Widespread magmatism in the eastern NCC is an important response to the lithospheric removal at depth and crustal deformation on the surface.The plutons emplace under a tectonic context and therefore record the information of the tectonics;especially,the anisotropy magnetic susceptibility(AMS)pattern of the pluton was acquired with the influence of regional stress.In the past fifteen years,about 22 plutons intruding during the different periods from the Late Triassic to the late stage of the Early Cretaceous have been studied with AMS.The emplacement mechanisms of plutons and the contemporary tectonic setting were discussed to constrain their relationship with the NCC destruction in different stages of magmatism.As a result,the Late Triassic,Early Jurassic,and Late Jurassic plutons exhibit consistent N(E)-S(W)trending magnetic lineations.The early stage of Early Cretaceous plutons display NW-SE trending magnetic lineations,while the late stage of Early Cretaceous plutons show magnetic lineations with various orientations.Combined with previous studies,it is concluded that the emplacements of the plutons intruding in these three stages were controlled by weak N(E)-S(W)trending extension,regional NW-SE trending extension,and weak extension in the shallow crustal level,respectively.The transformation of regional extension from the N(E)-S(W)to the NW-SE direction was accompanied by a strain-increasing tendency.The extensional tectonics in the eastern NCC was interpreted to represent the interaction between Mongol-Okhotsk belt,PaleoPacific plate,and eastern Eurasian continent. | Wei LIN Jipei ZENG Lingtong MENG Huabiao QIU Wei WEI Zhiheng REN Yang CHU Shuangjian LI Chao SONG Qincheng WANG | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,9: | 1 |

| 9 | Molecular phylogeny reveals the non-monophyly of tribe Yinshanieae (Brassicaceae) and description of a new tribe, Hillielleae显示文摘The taxonomic treatment within the unigeneric tribe Yinshanieae(Brassicaceae) is controversial, owing to differences in generic delimitation applied to its species. In this study, sequences from nuclear ITS and chloroplast trn L-F regions were used to test the monophyly of Yinshanieae, while two nuclear markers(ITS, ETS) and four chloroplast markers(trnL-F, trn H-psbA, rps16, rpL32-trnL) were used to elucidate the phylogenetic relationships within the tribe. Using maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood, and Bayesian inference methods, we reconstructed the phylogeny of Brassicaceae and Yinshanieae. The results show that Yinshanieae is not a monophyletic group, with the taxa splitting into two distantly related clades: one clade contains four taxa and falls in Lineage I, whereas the other includes all species previously placed in Hilliella and is embedded in the Expanded Lineage II.
