| 1 | Genetic and genomic analyses for economically important traits and their applications in molecular breeding of cultured fish显示文摘The traits of cultured fish must continually be genetically improved to supply high-quality animal protein for human consumption.Economically important fish traits are controlled by multiple gene quantitative trait loci(QTL),most of which have minor effects,but a few genes may have major effects useful for molecular breeding.In this review,we chose relevant studies on some of the most intensively cultured fish and concisely summarize progress on identifying and verifying QTLs for such traits as growth,disease and stress resistance and sex in recent decades.The potential applications of these major-effect genes and their associated markers in marker-assisted selection and molecular breeding,as well as future research directions are also discussed.These genetic and genomic analyses will be valuable for elucidating the mechanisms modulating economically important traits and to establish more effective molecular breeding techniques in fish. | TONG JinGou SUN XiaoWen | 2015 | Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,2: | 12 |

| 17 | Nano Calcium-Deficient Hydroxyapatite/O-carboxymethyl Chitosan-CaCl_(2) Microspheres Loadedwith RheinforBone Defect Repair显示文摘Glutaraldehyde(GA),the most widely used crosslinking agent for biomaterials,is cytotoxic.CaCl_(2) is of particular interest due to its non-toxic nature.Rhein can chelate Ca^(2+)and promote bone growth.Here we reported a novel nano calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite/O-carboxymethyl chitosan-CaCl_(2) microspheres loaded with rhein(RH-nCDHA/OCMC-CaCl_(2) microspheres)using CaCl_(2) as crosslinking agent for bone defect repair.The obtained microspheres were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermogravimetric analysis(TG)and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).The surface of the obtained microspheres is rough with quite a few voids.The nano calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite(nCDHA)accounts for about 70% of the total weight of the microspheres,which is equivalent to the proportion of inorganic substances in human bones.A high encapsulation efficiency(EE)and loading capacity(LC)of the microspheres loaded with rhein was 90.20±0.60% and 11.03±0.30%,respectively.For microspheres using CaCl_(2) in simulated body fluid(SBF)after 14 days,the drug released continuously and bone-like apatite formed like layer.The cells on the surface of the RH-nCDHA/OCMC-CaCl_(2) microspheres grew better comparing with nCDHA/OCMC-GA microspheres and the skull defects of rats after landfill can be almost repaired after 8 weeks,which revealed the potential of the microspheres for bone repair. | Zhenzhen Tian Yuanyuan Guo Xiuying Yang Kebing Guo Jingou Ji Shilei Hao | 2022 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,4: | 0 |

| 19 | Antioxidant response to severe hypoxia in Brandt’s vole Lasiopodomys brandtii显示文摘The antioxidant defense system is essential for animals to cope with homeostasis disruption and overcome oxidative stress caused by adverse environmental conditions such as hypoxia.However,our understanding of how this system works in subterranean rodents remains limited.In this study,Brandt’s vole Lasiopodomys brandtii was exposed to normoxia(21%O_(2))or hypoxia(mild or severe hypoxia:10%or 5%O_(2))for 6 h.Changes in key enzymes of the classic enzymatic antioxidant system at both mRNA and enzyme activity levels,and tissue antioxidant levels of the low-molecular-weight antioxidant system were determined in brain,liver,and kidney.Transcript levels of the upstream regulator NF-E2-related factor 2(Nrf2)were also measured.We found that the mRNA expression of Nrf2 and its downstream antioxidant enzyme genes in L.brandtii were relatively conserved in response to hypoxia in most tissues and genes tested,except in the liver.Hepatic Nrf2,Cu/Zn SOD,GPx1,and GPx3 levels were significantly upregulated in response to mild hypoxia,whereas Mn SOD level decreased significantly in severe hypoxia.Unmatched with changes at the RNA level,constitutively high and relatively stable antioxidant enzyme activities were maintained throughout.For the low-molecular-weight antioxidant system,an abrupt increase of cerebral ascorbic acid(AA)levels in hypoxia indicated a tissue-specific antioxidant response.Although hypoxia did not cause significant oxidative damage in most tissues tested,the significant decrease in antioxidant enzyme activities(GPX and GR)and increase in lipid peroxidation in the kidney suggest that prolonged hypoxia may pose a critical threat to this species. | Luye SHI Bojian CHEN Xinrui WANG Maolin HUANG Congcong QIAO Jingou WANG Zhenlong WANG | 2022 | Integrative Zoology2022,17,4: | 0 |
| 20 | Prediction model for corrosion rate of low-alloy steels under atmospheric conditions using machine learning algorithms显示文摘This work constructed a machine learning(ML)model to predict the atmospheric corrosion rate of low-alloy steels(LAS).The material properties of LAS,environmental factors,and exposure time were used as the input,while the corrosion rate as the output.6 dif-ferent ML algorithms were used to construct the proposed model.Through optimization and filtering,the eXtreme gradient boosting(XG-Boost)model exhibited good corrosion rate prediction accuracy.The features of material properties were then transformed into atomic and physical features using the proposed property transformation approach,and the dominant descriptors that affected the corrosion rate were filtered using the recursive feature elimination(RFE)as well as XGBoost methods.The established ML models exhibited better predic-tion performance and generalization ability via property transformation descriptors.In addition,the SHapley additive exPlanations(SHAP)method was applied to analyze the relationship between the descriptors and corrosion rate.The results showed that the property transformation model could effectively help with analyzing the corrosion behavior,thereby significantly improving the generalization ability of corrosion rate prediction models. | Jingou Kuang Zhilin Long | 2024 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2024,31,2: | 0 |
