1The Variation of Stone Cell Content in 236 Germplasms of Sand Pear(Pyrus pyrifolia)and Identification of Related Candidate Genes显示文摘Stone cells have been described to substantially influence pear fruit quality,as lignin and cellulose are the main components of stone cells.However,there are limited studies on the relationship between the variation and molecular basis of stone cells,lignin and cellulose content among different pear varieties.Here,to reveal the variation of stone cell content within different cultivated species,we collected 236 germplasms of sand pear(Pyrus pyrifolia)at 50 days after flower blooming(DAFB),the key stage of stone cell formation.In our results,we measured the content of stone cells,lignin and cellulose and found that these contents ranged from2.82%to 29.00%,8.84%to 55.30%and 11.52%to 30.55%,respectively.Further analysis showed that the variation coefficient of stone cell,lignin and cellulose content was 39.10%,28.03%and 16.71%,respectively.Additionally,a significant correlation between stone cell,lignin and cellulose content were detected,and the correlation coefficient between the contents of stone cell and lignin(0.912)was higher than between the contents of stone cell and cellulose(0.796).Moreover,the average lignin content(29.73%)was higher than the average cellulose content(18.03%)in stone cells in pear fruits,indicating that lignin is the main component of stone cell in pears.Finally,on the basic of the transcriptome data,we identified 10 transcription factors belonging to bHLH,ERF,MYB,and NAC transcript families,which might be involved in lignin formation in stone cells.qRT-PCR experiments verified coincident trends between expression of candidate genes and stone cell content.This research laid foundation for future studies on genetic variation of stone cells in pear fruits and provided important gene resources for stone cell regulation.Jiaying Zhang Jiaming Li Cheng Xue Runze Wang Mingyue Zhang Kaijie Qi Jing Fan Hongju Hu Shaoling Zhang Jun Wu 2021Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,2:3

3Study on the chaperone properties of conserved GTPases显示文摘As a large family of hydrolases,GTPases are widespread in cells and play the very important biological function of hydrolyzing GTP into GDP and inorganic phosphate through binding with it.GTPases are involved in cell cycle regulation,protein synthesis,and protein transportation.Chaperones can facilitate the folding or refolding of nascent peptides and denatured proteins to their native states.However,chaperones do not occur in the native structures in which they can perform their normal biological functions.In the current study,the chaperone activity of the conserved GTPases of Escherichia coli is tested by the chemical denaturation and chaperone-assisted renaturation of citrate synthase andα-glucosidase.The effects of ribosomes and nucleotides on the chaperone activity are also examined.Our data indicate that these conserved GTPases have chaperone properties,and may be ancestral protein folding factors that have appeared before dedicated chaperones.Xiang Wang Jiaying Xue Zhe Sun Yan Qin Weimin Gong 2012Protein & Cell2012,3,1:0
4DCLR Modifi ed Petroleum Asphalt Optimization and Mixture Road Performance显示文摘In recent decades,modified asphalt materials have been used in enhancing the traffic load on the roads.The main objective of this paper is to explore the modifi cation effect of direct coal liquefaction residue(DCLR)on as-phalt binders and investigate the effectiveness of DCLR in improving the performance of asphalt road.This paper prepared modifi ed petroleum as-phalt under diff erent process conditions and tested its penetration,softening point and ductility index.Based on the experimental data,according to gray correlation degree,the performance for the asphalt was compared.The performance for the modified asphalt is simulated and predicted using poly-nomial functions.The modifi ed asphalt was analyzed by FT-IR,TGA,SEM and HPLC.The results show that the optimal process conditions for DCLR modifi ed asphalt are shear mixing time of 45 min,shear mixing tempera-ture of 150℃ and shear mixing rate of 4000 r/min.The predicted fit with the experimental data of 0.993 further demonstrates the effectiveness of the method.The characterization results show no significant chemical change between the DCLR and the asphalt.DCLR can significantly improve the high temperature performance and water stability of the asphalt,but it has little impact on its low temperature performance.Yifan Chu Tao Li Jiaying Ding Zhenmin Liu Yongbing Xue 2022Frontiers Research of Architecture and Engineering2022,5,1:0

6The Promise and Pitfalls for the BRIC: The Demographic Transition and the Prospect for Economic and Social Development显示文摘As most emerging markets,China,India,Russia and Brazil are going through a rapid demographic transition.In the mid phase of the demographic transition,each country will experience the Demographic Windowof Opportunity,which might have a positive effect on its economic development.However,during the final phase of the demographic transition,a dramatic aging wave will arrive and exert its negative influence on economic and social development.The BRICS have achieved great economic growth in the last decades.As we try to focus on the bright prospect of the demographic transition,we also have to keep in mind the potential risks residing in the global aging wave inevitably brought by the transition.Brazil,Russia,India and China are at different pace and stage of the demographic transition.In analyzing the demographic transitions of the four countries,the research draws experience from those that have successfully taken advantage of the Demographic W indowto attain fast economic development;the research also attempts to observe the trends displayed by each country’s aging population,and thereby to identify the obstacles each country within its distinct economic framework might have to face in the future.Li Xue Shi Jiaying 2013学术界2013,,9:0
7Gut microbiota and differential genes-maintained homeostasis is key to maintaining health of individuals with Yang-deficiency constitution显示文摘OBJECTIVE:Yang-deficiency constitution(YADC)is a common unbalanced constitution that predisposes individuals to certain diseases.However,not all people with YADC manifest develop diseases.This calls for delineation of the underlying molecular mechanisms.Previous studies suggested that the gut microbiota and gene differential expression should be considered.METHODS:In the present study,we compared profiles of gut microbiota between four healthy YADC individuals and those of five healthy balanced constitution(BC)counterparts,based on 16 S r RNA gene sequence analysis.Furthermore,YADC relevant genes identified by comparing 62 healthy YADC and 58 healthy BC individuals in total to perform intersection analysis,functional clustering and pathway enrichment analyses.RESULTS:The levels of harmful gut microbiota(Prevotellaceae,LDA score>4.0,P=0.0141)and beneficial gut microbiota(Ruminococcaceae,LDA score>4.0,P=0.0025,Faecalibacterium,LDA score>4.0,P=0.0484)were both elevated in healthy YADC individuals.Also,we found that the specific metabolic pathway with 2,6-Dichloro-p-hydroquinone 1,2-Dioxygenase(Pcp A)as the core in gut microbiota and the glutathione transferase activity has been enriched by YADC relevant genes in healthy YADC individuals were both responsible for the detoxification of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon substances.CONCLUSIONS:Both beneficial and harmful factors had been detected in healthy YADC individuals,functionally,they may have triggered homeostasis to maintain the health of individuals with YADC.The homeostasis may be maintained by beneficial and harmful factors from gut flora and genes.Future studies are expected to focus on halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons and their detoxification processes.ZHANG Huixiang WANG Limei GUO Jipeng WANG Jiai ZHANG Qianqian WANG Yutao LIU Xun ZHANG Lihuan SHI Lanlan WU Hongxiang CAO Xue 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,1:0
