| 1 | WRKY transcription factors in plant responses to stresses显示文摘The WRKY gene family is among the largest families of transcription factors(TFs) in higher plants.By regulating the plant hormone signal transduction pathway,these TFs play critical roles in some plant processes in response to biotic and abiotic stress.Various bodies of research have demonstrated the important biological functions of WRKY TFs in plant response to different kinds of biotic and abiotic stresses and working mechanisms.However,very little summarization has been done to review their research progress.Not just important TFs function in plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses,WRKY also participates in carbohydrate synthesis,senescence,development,and secondary metabolites synthesis.WRKY proteins can bind to W-box(TGACC(A/T)) in the promoter of its target genes and activate or repress the expression of downstream genes to regulate their stress response.Moreover,WRKY proteins can interact with other TFs to regulate plant defensive responses.In the present review,we focus on the structural characteristics of WRKY TFs and the research progress on their functions in plant responses to a variety of stresses. | Jingjing Jiang Shenghui Ma Nenghui Ye Ming Jiang Jiashu Cao Jianhua Zhang | 2017 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,2: | 75 |
| 2 | Re-Os isotopes and PGE geochemistry of black shales and intercalated Ni-Mo polymetallic sulfide bed from the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation, South China显示文摘The Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation consists of a thick black shale sequence with a regionally distributed conformable Ni Mo polymetallic sulfide horizon and a chert bed at its basal strata on theYangtze Platform, South China. In this paper, we discuss all available data on Re Os isotopes and Platinum Group Element (PGE) distribution pattern of the Ni Mo polymetallic sulfide ore and its host rocks (black shales, cherts, and phosphorites) from Guizhou and Hunan provinces. Our results show that the black shales and the Ni Mo sulfide ore have a high initial 187 Os/ 188 Os ratio of 0.78~0.86, indicating that the Early Cambrian ocean across the Yangtze Platform had a highly radiogenic Os value. This ratio is slightly lower than but still similar to present day seawater, possibly as a result of high continental weathering at that time. The Ni Mo sulfide ore yields a Re Os isochron of 537±10 Ma (MSWD=11.9), possibly representing the depositional age of the Niutitang Formation. The chondrite normalized PGE pattern, Pt anomaly (Pt/Pt *), Pt/Pd, Ir/Pd, Au/Ir and Re/Mo ratios of the Ni Mo sulfide ore and its host rocks from South China indicate a varying source contribution of the PGE and other metals for different rocks. | 5 | Deep water bottom current deposition in the northern South China Sea显示文摘There are some active bottom currents on the northern continental slope of the South China Sea (SCS). Reflection seismic profiles show that the bottom current channels occur in the water depth range of 1000 to 2700 m,extending from the NE to the SW,leading to accumulation of discontinuous drifts with higher sedimentation rates on the eastern side of the channel. The stacking pattern of the layers sug-gests that these drifts propagated southwestward,following the direction of the bottom currents. One sedimentary drift to the southeast of the Dongsha Islands has the highest sedimentation rate of 97cm/ka in the last 12 ka. The sedimentary characteristics of the sediment layers indicate that these bottom currents are most likley caused by the water movement of a branch of the West Pacific Ocean Current,which enters the northern SCS via the Bashi Strait. Once formed,the bottom currents trans-port sediments along the northern slope of SCS southwestward and finally disappear into the central basin of the SCS. | 9 | Genome-Wide Analysis of WOX Gene Family in Rice,Sorghum,Maize,Arabidopsis and Poplar显示文摘WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) genes form a large gene family specifically expressed in plants.They are known to play important roles in regulating the development of plant tissues and organs by determining cell fate.Recent available whole genome sequences allow us to do more comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of the WOX genes in plants.In the present study,we identified 11 and 21 WOXs from sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) and maize (Zea mays),respectively.The 72 WOX genes from rice (Oryza sativa),sorghum,maize,Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) and poplar (Populus trichocarpa) were grouped into three well supported clades with nine subgroups according to the amino acid sequences of their homodomains.Their phylogenetic relationship was also supported by the observation of the motifs outside the homodomain.We observed the variation of duplication events among the nine sub-groups between monocots and eudicots,for instance,more gene duplication events of WOXs within subgroup A for monocots,while,less for dicots in this subgroup.Furthermore,we observed the conserved intron/exon structural patterns of WOX genes in rice,sorghum and Arabidopsis.In addition,WUS (Wuschel)-box and EAR (the ERF-associated amphiphilic repression)-like motif were observed to be conserved among several WOX subgroups in these five plants.Comparative analysis of expression patterns of WOX genes in rice and Arabidopsis suggest that the WOX genes play conserved and various roles in plants.This work provides insights into the evolution of the WOX gene family and is useful for future research. | Xin Zhang Jie Zong Jianhua Liu Jinyuan Yin Dabing Zhang | 2010 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010,52,11: | 38 |
| 10 | Climate Change and Its Effects on Runoff of Kaidu River, Xinjiang, China:A Multiple Time-scale Analysis显示文摘This paper applied an integrated method combining grey relation analysis, wavelet analysis and statistical analysis to study climate change and its effects on runoff of the Kaidu River at multi-time scales. Major findings are as follows: 1) Climatic factors were ranked in the order of importance to annual runoff as average annual temperature, average temperature in autumn, average temperature in winter, annual precipitation, precipitation in flood season, average temperature in summer, and average temperature in spring. The average annual temperature and annual precipi- tation were selected as the two representative factors that impact the annual runoff. 2) From the 32-year time scale, the annual runoff and the average annual temperature presented a significantly rising trend, whereas the annual precipita- tion showed little increase over the period of 1957-2002. By changing the time scale from 32-year to 4-year, we ob- served nonlinear trends with increasingly obvious oscillations for annual runoff, average annual temperature, and annual precipitation. 3) The changes of the runoff and the regional climate are closely related, indicating that the runoff change is the result of the regional climate changes. | 11 | Multipath error detection and correction for GEO/IGSO satellites显示文摘Constellations of regional satellite navigation systems are usually constituted of geostationary satellites (GEO) and inclined geostationary satellites (IGSO) for better service availability. Analysis of real data shows that the pseudorange measurements of these two types of satellites contain significant multipath errors and code noise, and the multipath for GEO is extremely serious, which is harmful to system services. In contrast, multipath error of carrier phase measurements is less than 3 cm, which is smaller than the multipath of pseudorange measurements by two orders of magnitude. Using a particular combination of pseudorange and dual-frequency carrier phase measurements, the pseudorange multipath errors are detected, and their time varying features are analyzed. A real-time multipath correction algorithm is proposed in this paper, which is called CNMC (Code Noise and Multipath Correction). The algorithm decreases the influence of the multipath error and therefore ensures the performance of the system. Data processing experiments show that the multipath error level may be reduced from 0.5 m to 0.15 m by using this algorithm, and 60% of GEO multipath errors and 42% of IGSO multipath errors are successfully corrected with CNMC. Positioning experiments are performed with a constellation of 3 GEO plus 3 IGSO satellites. For dual-frequency users the East-West position accuracy is improved from 1.31 m to 0.94 m by using the CNMC algorithm, the South-North position accuracy is improved from 2.62 m to 2.29 m, and the vertical position accuracy is improved from 4.25 m to 3.05 m. | 12 | Positioning accuracy assessment for the 4GEO/5IGSO/2MEO constellation of COMPASS显示文摘Determined to become a new member of the well-established GNSS family,COMPASS(or BeiDou-2) is developing its capabilities to provide high accuracy positioning services.Two positioning modes are investigated in this study to assess the positioning accuracy of COMPASS' 4GEO/5IGSO/2MEO constellation.Precise Point Positioning(PPP) for geodetic users and real-time positioning for common navigation users are utilized.To evaluate PPP accuracy,coordinate time series repeatability and discrepancies with GPS' precise positioning are computed.Experiments show that COMPASS PPP repeatability for the east,north and up components of a receiver within China's Mainland is better than 2 cm,2 cm and 5 cm,respectively.Apparent systematic offsets of several centimeters exist between COMPASS precise positioning and GPS precise positioning,indicating errors remaining in the treatments of COMPASS measurement and dynamic models and reference frame differences existing between two systems.For common positioning users,COMPASS provides both open and authorized services with rapid differential corrections and integrity information available to authorized users.Our assessment shows that in open service positioning accuracy of dual-frequency and single-frequency users is about 5 m and 6 m(RMS),respectively,which may be improved to about 3 m and 4 m(RMS) with the addition of differential corrections.Less accurate Signal In Space User Ranging Error(SIS URE) and Geometric Dilution of Precision(GDOP) contribute to the relatively inferior accuracy of COMPASS as compared to GPS.Since the deployment of the remaining 1 GEO and 2 MEO is not able to significantly improve GDOP,the performance gap could only be overcome either by the use of differential corrections or improvement of the SIS URE,or both. | ZHOU ShanShi CAO YueLing ZHOU JianHua HU XiaoGong TANG ChengPan LIU Li GUO Rui HE Feng CHEN JunPing WU Bin | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,12: | 31 |
| 13 | Analyses of hot and humid weather in Beijing city in summer and its dynamical identification显示文摘The circulation, hygrothermal property and moisture transport character of typical hot and humid weather were analyzed in Beijing areas from July 30 to August 4, 2002. It was pointed out that, under the control of subtropical anticyclone which stretches to the west and north, downdraft suppresses the lifting of lower-troposphere moisture, which makes moisture keep in the lower troposphere. That is the direct reason causing hot and humid weather. Considering the non-uniformity saturated character in real atmosphere, generalized moist potential vorticity (GMPV) equation is derived by the introduction of generalized moist potential temperature concept. The analysis of GMPV shows that negative GMPV anomaly occurs in the lower troposphere. It has indicative sense to hot and humid weather. | 14 | The subducted slab of Yangtze Continental block beneath the Tethyan orogen in western Yunnan显示文摘The western Yunnan area is a natural laboratory with fully developed and best preserved Tethyan orogen in the world. Seismic tomography reveals a slab-like high velocity anomaly down to 250 km beneath the western Yunnan Tethyan orogen, to its west there is a low-velocity column about 300 km wide. in the region from Lancangjiang to Mojiang an obvious low velocity in the lower crust and uppermost mantle overlies on the slab. Synthesizing the available geological and geochemical results, the present paper demonstrates that this slab-like high velocity anomaly is a part of the subducted plate of Yangtze Continental segment after the closure of Paleotethys. | 16 | The influence of the Madden-Julian Oscillation activity anomalies on Yunnan's extreme drought of 2009-2010显示文摘Yunnan Province of China suffered a record-breaking drought that persisted from autumn 2009 into spring 2010. The present study examined the physical causes of this extreme drought event in terms of persistent anomalies of intraseasonal oscillation in the tropical atmosphere (the Madden-Julian Oscillation hereafter the MJO). The results show that the occurrence of severe drought in Yunnan was caused directly by deficient rainfall lasting from the summer of 2009 to the spring of 2010. Further exploration reveals a persistent positive variation of MJO index 1 from June to October. Accordingly, the convective activity over the Bay of Bengal (BOB) weakened continuously, and then an anomalous descending airflow was induced over the tropical Indian Ocean, resulted in the anomalous weakening of vertical Asian monsoon circulation in South Asia. Consequently, the transport of water vapor from the tropical Indian Ocean to Yunnan decreased abnormally, leading to persistent below-normal rainfall over Yunnan from summer to autumn in 2009. As a result, a severe drought began to appear in autumn. In the winter of 2009-2010, MJO index 1 remained persistently positive, indicating the continuous weakening of convective activity over the BOB. The atmospheric circulation associated with the persistent positive anomalies in the MJO also demonstrated anomalous patterns. Specifically, there was an anomalous high-pressure ridge stretching from South Asia through the Tibetan Plateau and into the western part of southwestern China. This indicates that the atmospheric circulation over Yunnan was dominated by vertical descending airflow in the high-pressure ridge. Simultaneously, the India-Burma trough was weakened, which resulted in unfavorable conditions for the transport of water vapor from the BOB to Yunnan, causing the observed persistent deficient precipitation in winter and the subsequently intensified drought. | 18 | Crustal P-wave velocity structure of the Longmenshan region and its tectonic implications for the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘The P-wave velocity structure of the crust in the Longmenshan region has been imaged by seismic travel time tomography us ing local and regional first P-wave arrivals recorded from 2000 to 2008. The tomographic model provides a way to analyze the deep tectonics of the Longmenshan fault belt and the tectonic implications for the 2008 Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake. The P-wave velocity images indicate that the initial rupture site and focal depth of the Wenchuan earthquake, together with the di rection of rupture propagation, closely relate to the crustal structure of the Longmenshan region. The Pengguan massif to the west of the Longmenshan fault belt is characterized by high velocity anomalies, suggesting that the crust has a strong strain strength that can accumulate large stresses over a long period. The Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake is located at the southwestern end of the Pengguan massif and the western edge of the Sichuan Basin. The collision between the Pengguan massif and the Sichuan Basin becomes the primary reason for the occurrence of the Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake. To the north of Wenchuan, the occurrence and propagation of rupture benefit from low velocity anomalies along the Longmenshan fault belt; whereas to the south of Wenchuan, the brittle rupture can occur with more difficulty in relatively weak crust with low velocities. This may be one of the reasons for the absence of aftershocks to the south of Wenchuan, and the rupture induced by the Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake propagating from the north to the south along the Longmenshan fault belt. The deep geodynamics of the Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake may occur due to the discrepancy of crustal structures on the two sides of the Longmenshan fault belt. Ductile deformation and crustal flow can easily occur in the weak middle-lower crust beneath the Songpan-Garze orogenic belt. The eastward movement of the Tibetan Plateau is obstructed by the rigid lithosphere of the Sichuan Basin, and then the thick ening of the middle-lower crust and vertical deformation occur in the crust of the Longmenshan fault belt. | 19 | Rural land use spatial allocation in the semiarid loess hilly area in China:Using a Particle Swarm Optimization model equipped with multi-objective optimization techniques显示文摘Semiarid loess hilly areas in China are enduring a series of environmental conflicts between urban expansion,cultivated land conservation,soil erosion and water shortage,and require land use allocation to reconcile these environmental conflicts.We argue that the optimized spatial allocation of rural land use can be achieved by a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) model in conjunction with multi-objective optimization techniques.Our study focuses on Yuzhong County of Gangsu Province in China,a typical catchment on the Loess Plateau,and proposes a land use spatial optimization model.The model maximizes land use suitability and spatial compactness based on a variety of constraints,e.g.optimal land use structure and restrictive areas,and employs an improved PSO algorithm equipped with a determinant initialization method and a dynamic weighted aggregation (DWA) method to obtain the optimized land use spatial pattern.The results suggest that (1) approximately 4% of land use should be reallocated and these changes would alleviate the environmental conflicts in the study area;(2) the major reshuffling is slope farmland and newly added construction and cultivated land,whereas the unchanged areas are largely forests and basic farmland;and (3) the PSO is capable of optimizing rural land use allocation,and the determinant initialization method and DWA can improve the performance of the PSO. | LIU YaoLin LIU DianFeng LIU YanFang HE JianHua JIAO LiMin CHEN YiYun HONG XiaoFeng | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,7: | 23 |
