| 1 | Switchgrass as a bioenergy crop in the Loess Plateau, China:Potential lignocellulosic feedstock production and environmental conservation显示文摘A large portion of the Loess Plateau of China is characterized as 'marginal' with serious land degradation and desertification problems. Consequently, two policies, Grain for Green and Western Development Action were established by the Chinese government in response to the demand for ecological protection and economic development in the Loess Plateau. These policies are designed to increase forest cover, expand farmlands, and enhance soil and water conservation, while creating sustainable vegetation restoration. Perennial grasses have gained attention as bioenergy feedstocks due to their high biomass yields, low inputs, and greater ecosystem services compared to annual crops. Moreover, perennial grasses limit nutrient runoff and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and soil losses while sequestering carbon. Additionally, perennial grasses can generate economic returns for local farmers through producing bioenergy feedstock or forage on marginal lands. | 5 | Enhancing the efficiency and scalability of perovskite solar cells through pseudo-halide salt addition显示文摘Organic-inorganic halide perovskites have significant potential for application in next-generation solar cells.However,their applications are limited by challenges associated with large-area processability and long-term stability owing to the presence of pinholes and defect sites.Here,we incorporated cesium formate in a perovskite active layer using a sequential perovskite fabrication process to eliminate the defect sites of perovskites and improve the film processability via roll-to-roll(R2R)processing.The addition of cesium formate salt to the PbI2 layer influences the perovskite crystal formation behavior as well as increases the perovskite crystallinity and decreases the defect density.Furthermore,cesium formate addition eliminated small PbI2 grains and smoothed the perovskite surface,resulting in a large crystal grain size.The formate ions interact with the PbI2 component and passivate halide vacancy defects,reducing nonradiative recombination and improving charge transfer.Additionally,the treated perovskite films were highly stable in air,exhibiting improved efficiency retention over time and achieving a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of>22%compared to the control.Furthermore,the additive-treated perovskite film was processed using the R2R method,achieving a high PCE of>14%with minimal hysteresis. | Dohun Baek Geon Yeong Park Jeongbeom Cha Hyemi Na Dong Seok Ham Min Kim | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,34: | 0 |
| 6 | Super-resolution visible photoactivated atomic force microscopy显示文摘Imaging the intrinsic optical absorption properties of nanomaterials with optical microscopy(OM)is hindered by the optical diffraction limit and intrinsically poor sensitivity.Thus,expensive and destructive electron microscopy(EM)has been commonly used to examine the morphologies of nanostructures.Further,while nanoscale fluorescence OM has become crucial for investigating the morphologies and functions of intracellular specimens,this modality is not suitable for imaging optical absorption and requires the use of possibly undesirable exogenous fluorescent molecules for biological samples.Here we demonstrate super-resolution visible photoactivated atomic force microscopy(pAFM),which can sense intrinsic optical absorption with~8 nm resolution.Thus,the resolution can be improved down to~8 nm.This system can detect not only the first harmonic response,but also the higher harmonic response using the nonlinear effect.The thermoelastic effects induced by pulsed laser irradiation allow us to obtain visible pAFM images of single gold nanospheres,various nanowires,and biological cells,all with nanoscale resolution.Unlike expensive EM,the visible pAFM system can be simply implemented by adding an optical excitation sub-system to a commercial atomic force microscope. | Seunghyun Lee Owoong Kwon Mansik Jeon Jaejung Song Seungjun Shin HyeMi Kim Minguk Jo Taiuk Rim Junsang Doh Sungjee Kim Junwoo Son Yunseok Kim Chulhong Kim | 2017 | Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1: | 0 |
