1Chemical characteristics of fine particles and their impact on visibility impairment in Shanghai based on a 1-year period observation显示文摘In this work, a one-year observation focusing on high time resolution characteristics of components in fine particles was conducted at an urban site in Shanghai. Contributions of different components on visibility impairment were also studied. Our research indicates that the major components of PM_(2.5) in Shanghai are water-soluble inorganic ions and carbonaceous aerosol, accounting for about 60% and 30% respectively. Higher concentrations of sulfate(SO42-) and organic carbon(OC) in PM_(2.5) occurred in fall and summer, while higher concentrations of nitrate(NO_3^-) were observed in winter and spring. The mass concentrations of Cl^- and K^+ were higher in winter. Moreover, NO_3^- increased significantly during PM_(2.5) pollution episodes. The high values observed for the sulfate oxidizing rate(SOR), nitrate oxidizing rate(NOR) and secondary organic carbon(SOC) in OC indicate that photochemical reactions were quite active in Shanghai. The IMPROVE(Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual Environments) formula was used in this study to investigate the contributions of individual PM_(2.5) chemical components to the light extinction efficient in Shanghai. Both NH_4NO_3 and(NH_4)_2SO_4 had close relationships with visibility impairment in Shanghai. 2Management of cytokine release syndrome related to CAR-T cell therapy显示文摘Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy is a novel cellular immunotherapy that is widely used to treat hematological malignancies, including acute leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Despite its remarkable clinical effects, this therapy has side effects that cannot be underestimated. Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) is one of the most clinically important and potentially life-threatening toxicities. This syndrome is a systemic immune storm that involves the mass cytokines releasing by activated immune cells. This phenomenon causes multisystem damages and sometimes even death. In this study, we reported the management of a patient with recurrent and refractory multiple myeloma and three patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia who suffered CRS during CAR-T treatment. The early application of tocilizumab, an anti-IL-6 receptor antibody, according to toxicity grading and clinical manifestation is recommended especially for patients who suffer continuous hyperpyrexia, hypotensive shock, acute respiratory failure, and whose CRS toxicities deteriorated rapidly. Moreover, low doses of dexamethasone (5-10 mg/day) were used for refractory CRS not responding to tocilizumab. 4Ozone sensitivity analysis with the MM5-CMAQ modeling system for Shanghai显示文摘Ozone has become one of the most important air pollution issues around the world. This article applied both O 3 /(NOy-NOx) and H 2 O 2 /HNO 3 indicators to analyze the ozone sensitivity in urban and rural areas of Shanghai, with implementation of the MM5-CMAQ modeling system in July, 2007. The meteorological parameters were obtained by using the MM5 model. A regional emission inventory with spatial and temporal allocation based on the statistical data has been developed to provide input emission data to the MM5-CMAQ modeling system. Results showed that the ozone concentrations in Shanghai show clear regional differences. The ozone concentration in rural areas was much higher than that in the urban area. 5Transportation characteristics of δ^(13)C in the plants-soil-bedrock-cave system in Chongqing karst area显示文摘Here we use an analytical method to determine δ13C in local plants and organic matter in the soils above Furong cave,Chongqing,China.We also monitored δ13C in dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) of drip water,δ13C of active deposits under the drip waters,and the concentration of air CO2(PCO2).Based on these,we preliminarily studied the transportation characteristics of stable carbon isotope(13C) in cave system of the subtropical karst area.The average δ13C value of 27 local plant samples,which belong to 16 families,was -32‰ and the weighted δ13C for surface dry biomass was -33‰.We found that for 54 soil samples collected from 5 soil profiles,δ13C of soil organic matters was -22‰,which could be attributed to the different transportation rates of stable carbon isotopes during the decomposition of plants and organic matters in soils.The relatively lighter 12C tended to transfer into gaseous CO2,which made the relatively heavier 13C concentrated in the soils.On the basis of monitoring of DIC-δ13C in drip waters from July 2009 to June 2010,we found that values in winter months were heavier and values in summer months were lighter in general,the reason of which was that in summer months,both the temperature and the humidity were comparatively higher,resulted in more CO2 with lighter δ13C generated from organic matters decomposition and plants respiration.The average DIC -δ13C value was -11‰,about 11‰ heavier than the δ13C of organic matters in soils,which proved that part of DIC in cave drip water was sourced from dissolution of inorganic carbonate(host rock,with heavier δ13C).As for the δ13C of active deposits at five drip water sites in Furong cave,they had almost the same variation with relatively light values.In other words,these active speleothems were deposited at equilibrium conditions for isotopic fractionation.These results suggest that the carbon isotopic information of speleothems could be used to track the evolution of local vegetation in certain situations.Li TingYong Li HongChun Xiang XiaoJing Kuo Tz-Shing Li JunYun Zhou FuLi Chen HongLi Peng LingLi 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,4:18
6Chemical and optical properties of aerosols and their interrelationship in winter in the megacity Shanghai of China显示文摘A field campaign on air quality was carried out in Shanghai in winter of 2012. The concentrations of NO, NO2, NOx, SO2, CO, and PM2.5increased during haze formation. The average masses of SO42-, NO3-and NH4+were 10.3, 11.7 and 6.7 μg/m3 during the haze episodes, which exceeded the average(9.2, 7.9, and 3.4 μg/m3) of these components in the non-haze days. The mean values for the aerosol scattering coefficient(b sp), aerosol absorption coefficient(b ap) and single scattering albedo(SSA) were 288.7, 27.7 and0.91 Mm-1, respectively. A bi-peak distribution was observed for the mass concentrations of CO, NO, NO2, and NOx. More sulfate was produced during daytime than that in the evening due to photochemical reactions. The mass concentration of NH4+achieved a small peak at noontime. NO3-showed lower concentrations in the afternoon and higher concentrations in the early morning. There were obvious bi-peak diurnal patterns for b sp and b ap as well as SSA. b sp and b ap showed a positive correlation with PM2.5mass concentration.(NH4)2SO4, NH4NO3, organic mass, elemental carbon and coarse mass accounted for 21.7%, 19.3%, 31.0%, 9.3% and 12.3% of the total extinction coefficient during non-haze days, and 25.6%, 24.3%, 30.1%, 8.1% and 8.2% during hazy days. Organic matter was the largest contributor to light extinction. 7MiR-122-5p suppresses the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells by targeting LYN显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of malignant tumors with high mortality and morbidity in the world.MicroRNA-122(miR-122)acts as a tumor suppressor in a variety of cancers and has been found to be dominant in gastric adenocarcinoma.However,the specific biological function of miR-122-5p in GC is not completely clear.In this study,we found that miR-122-5p was low-expressed in GC tissues and cell lines by using qRT-PCR.Overexpression of miR-122-5p inhibited the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells by using CCK-8 and transwell assays.On the contrary,downregulation of miR-122-5p promoted the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells.In addition,we found that the expression of LYN,an Src family tyrosine kinase,was inversely correlated with miR-122-5p expression in GC tissues by using western blot analysis,immunohistochemistry,and qRT-PCR assays.Meanwhile,luciferase assay results indicated that LYN is a direct target of miR-122-5p in GC cells.Moreover,silencing LYN expression by its siRNA inhibited the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells.Importantly,overexpression of LYN restored miR-122-5p-mediated inhibition of the proliferation,migration,and invasion of GC cells.Taken together,our results indicated miR-122-5p inhibited the proliferation,migration,and invasion by targeting LYN in GC.Lei Meng Zhangming Chen Zhe Jiang Ting Huang Jie Hu Panquan Luo Hongli Zhang Mengqi Huang Lei Huang Yu Chen Ming Lu A-man Xu Songcheng Ying 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,1:12
8Liquid bridge force between two unequal-sized spheres or a sphere and a plane显示文摘Liquid bridge force acting between wet particles is an important property in particle characterization. This paper deals with liquid bridge force between either two unequal-sized spherical particles or a sphere and a flat plate under conditions where gravitational effect arising from bridge distortion is negligible. In order to calculate the force of the liquid bridge efflciently and accurately, expressions of liquid conflguration and liquid bridge force were derived by building a mechanical model, which assumes the liquid bridge to be circular in shape between either two unequal-sized spheres or a sphere and a plane. 9Progress in ENSO prediction and predictability study显示文摘ENSO is the strongest interannual signal in the global climate system with worldwide climatic, ecological and societal impacts. Over the past decades, the research about ENSO prediction and predictability has attracted broad attention. With the development of coupled models, the improvement in initialization schemes and the progress in theoretical studies, ENSO has become the most predictable climate mode at the time scales from months to seasons. This paper reviews in detail the progress in ENSO predictions and predictability studies achieved in recent years. An emphasis is placed on two fundamental issues: the improvement in practical prediction skills and progress in the theoretical study of the intrinsic predictability limit. 10Do vehicular emissions dominate the source of C6–C8 aromatics in the megacity Shanghai of eastern China?显示文摘The characteristic ratios of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) to i-pentane, the indicator of vehicular emissions, were employed to apportion the vehicular and non-vehicular contributions to reactive species in urban Shanghai. Two kinds of tunnel experiments, one tunnel with more than 90% light duty gasoline vehicles and the other with more than 60% light duty diesel vehicles, were carried out to study the characteristic ratios of vehicle-related emissions from December 2009 to January 2010. Based on the experiments, the characteristic ratios of C6–C8aromatics to i-pentane of vehicular emissions were 0.53 ± 0.08(benzene), 0.70 ± 0.12(toluene),0.41 ± 0.09(m,p-xylenes), 0.16 ± 0.04(o-xylene), 0.023 ± 0.011(styrene), and 0.15 ± 0.02(ethylbenzene), respectively. The source apportionment results showed that around 23.3% of C6–C8 aromatics in urban Shanghai were from vehicular emissions, which meant that the non-vehicular emissions had more importance. These findings suggested that emission control of non-vehicular sources, i.e. industrial emissions, should also receive attention in addition to the control of vehicle-related emissions in Shanghai. The chemical removal of VOCs during the transport from emissions to the receptor site had a large impact on the apportionment results. 14Formation control with obstacle avoidance of second-order multi-agent systems under directed communication topology显示文摘This paper addresses the obstacle avoidance problem of formation control for the multi-agent systems modeled by double integrator dynamics under a directed interconnection topology. The control task is finished by a leader-follower formation scheme combined with an artificial potential field(APF) method.The leader-follower scheme is carried out by taking the desired trajectory with the desired velocity as virtual leader, while the APF method is carried out by dealing with the obstacles as the high potential points. When the obstacle avoidance tasks are finished, the artificial potential forces degrade the formation performance, so their undesired effects are treated as disturbances, which is analyzed by the robust H∞performance. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, it is proved that the proposed formation approach can realize the control objective. The result is also extended to the switching multi-agent formation. 15SnO2-based electron transporting layer materials for perovskite solar cells: A review of recent progress显示文摘In recent years, due to their high photo-to-electric power conversion efficiency(PCE)(up to 23%(certified)) and low cost, perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have attracted a great deal of attention in photovoltaics field. The high PCE can be attributed to the excellent physical properties of organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite materials, such as a long charge diffusion length and a high absorption coefficient in the visible range. There are different diffusion lengths of holes in electrons in a PSC device, and thus the electron transporting layer(ETL) plays a critical role in the performance of PSCs. An alternative for TiO2, to the most common ETL material is SnO2, which has similar physical properties to TiO2 but with much higher electron mobility, which is beneficial for electron extraction. In addition, there are many facile methods to fabricate SnO2 nanomaterials with low cost and low energy consumption. In this review paper, we focus on recent developments in SnO2 as the ETL of PSCs. The fabrication methods of SnO2 materials are briefly introduced. The influence of multiple Sn O2 types in the ETL on the performance of PSCs is then reviewed. Different methods for improving the PCE and long-term stability of PSCs based on SnO2 ETL are also summarized. 16Ginkgo biloba leaf extract improves the cognitive abilities of rats with D-galactose induced dementia显示文摘Standardized Ginkgo biloba leaf extract has been used in clinical trials for its beneficial effects on brain functions,particularly in dementia.Substantial experimental evidences indicated that Ginkgo biloba leaf extract (EGB) protected neuronal cells from a variety of insults.We investigated the effect of EGB on cognitive ability and protein kinase B (PKB) activity in hippocampal neuronal cells of dementia model rats.Rats received an intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose to induce dementia.Forty-eight Spraque-Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups,including the control group,D-galactose group (Gal),low-dose EGB group (EGB-L),mid-dose EGB group (EGB-M),high-dose EGB group (EGB-H) and treatment group.The EGB-L,EGB-M and EGB-H groups were administered with EGB and D-galactose simultaneously.Y-maze,cresyl violet staining,TUNEL assays and immunohistochemistry staining were performed to detect learning and memory abilities,morphological changes in the hippocampus,neuronal apoptosis and the expressing level of phospho-PKB,respectively.Rats in the Gal group showed decreased abilities of learning and memory,and hippocampal pyramidal cell layer was damaged,while EGB administration improved learning and memory abilities.The Gal group exhibited many stained,condensed nuclei and micronuclei,either isolated or within the cytoplasm of cells (39.5±1.4).Apoptotic cells decreased in the groups of EGB-L (35.9±0.9),EGB-M (16.8±1.0) and EGB-H (10.1±0.8),and there were statistical significances compared with the Gal group.Immunoreactivity of phospho-PKB was localized diffusely throughout the cytosol of cells in all groups,while the immunoreactivity of the Gal group was weak.EGB significantly attenuated learning and memory impairment in a dose-dependent manner,while it could decrease the nmber of TUNEL-positive cells,and increase the activity of PKB.Our results demonstrated that EGB attenuated memory impairment and cell apoptosis in galactose-induced dementia model rats by activating PKB.Nuan Wang Xianming Chen Deqin Geng Hongli Huang Hao Zhou 2013The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,1:6

18Cell concentration,viability and culture composition of airborne bacteria during a dust event in Beijing显示文摘Airborne bacteria were measured when a dust storm passed Beijing in spring 2012 with a focus on cell concentration,viability and TSA-and R2A-cultured strain composition.The concentration varied at an order of 10~7 cells/m^3 with dust loading(demonstrated with PM_(10))and they had a very close correlation(R_T^2 = 0.91,p < 0.01).At the time of highest PM_(10) of652 μg/m^3,the bacterial concentration reached 1.4 × 10~8 cells/m^3,which was larger than that before and after the dust event by one order.Bacterial viability,the ratio of number concentration of viable cells to total cells,was 32%-64%and smaller in the dust plume than that before the dust arrival.Bacterial strains from the culture ranged between 2.5 x 104 and4.6×10~5 CFU/m^3 and no correlation with PM_(10) was determined.Their composition was different before and after the dust arrival according to 16SrRNA gene sequences and strains belong to Actinomycetes and Firmicutes were the majority in the dust samples.Hongli Yuan Daizhou Zhang Yanning Shi Baozhen Li Jinshui Yang Xuejian Yu Nan Chen Makiko Kakikawa 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,5:5
19Porcine growth differentiation factor 9 gene polymorphisms and their associations with litter size显示文摘Growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) is expressed in oocytes and is thought to be required for ovarian folliculogenesis. Given this function, GDF9 may be considered as a candidate gene controlling pig ovulate rate. In this study, the complete coding sequence was cloned (encoding a 444 amino acid), intron sequence and partial 5′-UTR of pig GDF9. RT-PCR results showed that GDF9 mRNA is expressed in a wide range of tissues of the ruttish Erhualian pig. The expression levels of GDF9 mRNA in pituitary, ovary, uterus and ovi-duct are higher in the Erhualian pigs than those in Duroc pigs, especially in pituitary with a significant difference (P< 0.05). Comparative sequencing revealed 12 polymorphisms, including 8 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and one 314 bp indel in noncoding regions, and the other 3 SNPs in coding regions. Four polymorphisms, G359C, C1801T, T1806C and 314 bp indel, were developed as markers for further use in population variation and association studies. The G359C polymorphism segregates only in Chinese native pigs, Erhualian and Dahuabai, on the contrary, 314 bp indel segregates only in Duroc and Landrace. C1801T and T1806C sites seem to be completely linked and segregate in Erhualian, Dahuabai and Landrace. 20Genetic basis of high aroma and stress toleranee in the oolong tea cultivar genome显示文摘Tea plants(Camellia sinensis)are commercially cultivated in>60 countries,and their fresh leaves are processed into tea,which is the most widely consumed beverage in the world.Although several chromosome-level tea plant genomes have been published,they collapsed the two haplotypes and ignored a large number of allelic variations that may underlie important biological functions in this species.Here,we present a phased chromosome-scale assembly for an elite oolong tea cultivar,'Huangdan',that is well known for its high levels of aroma.Based on the two sets of haplotype genome data,we identi fi ed numerous genetic variations and a substantial proportion of allelic imbalance related to important traits,including aroma-and stress-related alleles.Comparative genomics revealed extensive structural variations as well as expansion of some gene families,such as terpene synthases(TPSs),that likely contribute to the high-aroma characteristics of the backbone parent,underlying the molecular basis for the biosynthesis of aroma-related chemicals in oolong tea.Our results uncovered the genetic basis of special features of this oolong tea cultivar,providing fundamental genomic resources to study evolution and domestication for the economically important tea crop.Pengjie Wang Jiaxin Yu Shan Jin Shuai Chen Chuan Yue Wenling Wang Shuilian Gao Hongli Cao Yucheng Zheng Mengya Gu Xuejin Chen Yun Sun Yuqiong Guo Jiangfan Yang Xingtan Zhang Naixing Ye 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:4
