1Shape anisotropic Fe3O4 nanotubes for efficient microwave absorption显示文摘Although Fe3O4 particles have exhibited excellent microwave absorbing capacity and widely used in practical application due to the synergistic effect of magnetic loss and dielectric loss,their applications are still limited for the required high mass fraction in absorbers.To overcome this problem,the development of Fe3O4 materials with low dimensional structures is necessary.In this study,the shape anisotropic Fe3O4 nanotubes(NTs)with low mass ratios were applied to realize efficient microwave absorption.The NTs with different aspect ratios were prepared through facile electrospinning followed by two-step thermal treatments and mechanical shearing.The cross-linked nanotubular structure enabled the absorbers to have much higher electrical conductivity,multiple scattering,polarization relaxation and better anti-reflection surface,while the shape anisotropic NTs maintained significant multiple resonances with stronger coercivity.These all were beneficial to microwave absorption with enhanced dielectric loss,magnetic loss and sterling impedance matching.Results showed that the absorber with 33.3 wt.%of short Fe3O4 NTs had minimum reflection loss of-58.36 dB at 17.32 GHz with a thickness of 1.27 mm,and had the maximum effective absorbing bandwidth(EAB)of 5.27 GHz when the thickness was 1.53 mm.The absorber with 14.3 wt.%of long Fe3O4 NTs presented the widest EAB in certain radar band with attenuated 80.75%X band and 85%Ku band energy bellow-10 dB at the thickness of 2.65 and 1.53 mm,respectively.This study provided an approach for the development of shape anisotropic magnetic absorbing materials,and broadened their practical applications as magnetic absorbers.Jialiang Pan Honggui Guo Min Wang Hui Yang Haowen Hu Peng Liu Hongwei Zhu 2020Nano Research2020,13,3:8
2Data-driven intelligent monitoring system for key variables in wastewater treatment process显示文摘In wastewater treatment process(WWTP), the accurate and real-time monitoring values of key variables are crucial for the operational strategies. However, most of the existing methods have difficulty in obtaining the real-time values of some key variables in the process. In order to handle this issue, a data-driven intelligent monitoring system, using the soft sensor technique and data distribution service, is developed to monitor the concentrations of effluent total phosphorous(TP) and ammonia nitrogen(NH_4-N). In this intelligent monitoring system, a fuzzy neural network(FNN) is applied for designing the soft sensor model, and a principal component analysis(PCA) method is used to select the input variables of the soft sensor model. Moreover, data transfer software is exploited to insert the soft sensor technique to the supervisory control and data acquisition(SCADA) system. 3Glycolysis in the control of blood glucose homeostasis显示文摘Glycolysis,a simple pathway of glucose metabolism,critically regulates insulin secretion and metabolic functions of various cells.Depending on cell types,rates of glycolysis are determined at various steps of glycolysis that are subjected to the control of key metabolic and regulatory enzyme(S),which include glucokinase,6-phosphofructo-I-kinase,and 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase.These enzymes are regulated by both nutritional and hormonal signals at the levels of transcription,translation,and post-translational modifications.In hepatocytes,glycolysis is involved in the control of hepatic glucose production.The latter,when excessive,contributes to hyperglycemia in diabetes.In pancreatic β cells,glycolysis couples glucose-stimulated insulin secretion.Absolute or relatively low levels of circulating insulin causes hyperglycemia.In adipocytes,glycolysis generates metabolites for lipogenesis and channels fatty acids from excessive oxidation to triglyceride synthesis,thereby reducing oxidative stress.With increased proinflammatory status,adipocytes produce pro-hyperglycemic factors and bring about hyperglycemia and insulin resistance.In hypotha lamic neurons,glycolysis conveys nutrient sensing that is related to feeding control.Dysregulation of glycolysis occurs in conditions of insulin deficiency or resistance,and is attributable to inappropriate amount and/or activities of metabolic and regulatory enzymes of glycolysis.Targeting key metabolic and regulatory enzymes to enhance glycolysis may offer viable approaches for treatment of diabetes.Xin Guo Honggui Li Hang Xu Shihlung Woo Hui Dong Fuer Lu Alex J.Lange Chaodong Wu 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,4:3
4A data-derived soft-sensor method for monitoring effluent total phosphorus显示文摘The effluent total phosphorus(ETP) is an important parameter to evaluate the performance of wastewater treatment process(WWTP). In this study, a novel method, using a data-derived soft-sensor method, is proposed to obtain the reliable values of ETP online. First, a partial least square(PLS) method is introduced to select the related secondary variables of ETP based on the experimental data. Second, a radial basis function neural network(RBFNN) is developed to identify the relationship between the related secondary variables and ETP. This RBFNN easily optimizes the model parameters to improve the generalization ability of the soft-sensor. Finally, a monitoring system, based on the above PLS and RBFNN, named PLS-RBFNN-based soft-sensor system, is developed and tested in a real WWTP. 5Adoptive transfer of Pfkfb3-disrupted hematopoietic cells to wild-type mice exacerbates diet-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation显示文摘Background and objectives:Hepatic steatosis and inflammation are key characteristics of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).However,whether and how hepatic steatosis and liver inflammation are differentially regulated remains to be elucidated.Considering that disruption of 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 3(Pfkfb3/iPfk2)dissociates fat deposition and inflammation,the present study examined a role for Pfkfb3/iPfk2 in hematopoietic cells in regulating hepatic steatosis and inflammation in mice.Methods:Pfkfb3-disrupted(Pfkfb3^(+/-))mice and wild-type(WT)littermates were fed a high-fat diet(HFD)and examined for NAFLD phenotype.Also,bone marrow cells isolated from Pfkfb3^(+/-)mice andWT mice were differentiated into macrophages for analysis of macrophage activation status and for bone marrow transplantation(BMT)to generate chimeric(WT/BMT-Pfkfb3^(+/-))mice in which Pfkfb3 was disrupted only in hematopoietic cells and control chimeric(WT/BMT-WT)mice.The latter were also fed an HFD and examined for NAFLD phenotype.In vitro,hepatocytes were co-cultured with bone marrowderived macrophages and examined for hepatocyte fat deposition and proinflammatory responses.Results:After the feeding period,HFD-fed Pfkfb3^(+/-)mice displayed increased severity of liver inflammation in the absence of hepatic steatosis compared with HFD-fed WT mice.When inflammatory activation was analyzed,Pfkfb3^(+/-)macrophages revealed increased proinflammatory activation and decreased anti-proinflammatory activation.When NAFLD phenotype was analyzed in the chimeric mice,WT/BMT-Pfkfb3^(+/-) mice displayed increases in the severity of HFD-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation compared with WT/BMT-WT mice.At the cellular level,hepatocytes co-cultured with Pfkfb3^(+/-) macrophages revealed increased fat deposition and proinflammatory responses compared with hepatocytes co-cultured with WT macrophages.Conclusions:Pfkfb3 disruption only in hematopoietic cells exacerbates HFD-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation whereas the Pfkfb3/iPfk2 in nonhematopoietic cells appeared to be needed for HFD feeding to induce hepatic steatosis.As such,the Pfkfb3/iPfk2 plays a unique role in regulating NAFLD pathophysiology.Xin Guo Bilian Zhu Hang Xu Honggui Li Boxiong Jiang Yina Wang Benrong Zheng Shannon Glaser Gianfranco Alpini Chaodong Wu 2020Liver Research2020,4,3:1
6An analytical model for evaluating the dynamic response of a tunnel embedded in layered foundation soil with different saturations显示文摘This paper proposes an analytical model for evaluating the dynamic response of an underground railway tunnel in layered foundation soil with different saturations.The soil is modeled as layered media,and the circular tunnel lining is modeled as an infinite Flügge cylindrical shell.The separation of variables method is used to solve the motion equation of the shell,and the wave equation of the soil is solved using the Helmholtz decomposition theorem.A dynamic matrix reflecting the wave vectors of soil layers is established using the transfer matrix method.Based on boundary conditions,the tunnel-soil model is coupled using the transformation method of plane wave functions and cylindrical wave functions.The proposed model is validated by comparison with existing tunnel models,and the effects of saturation and the layered properties of soil on the dynamic response of a layered tunnel-soil system is demonstrated via case studies.Di Honggui Guo Huiji Zhou Shunhua Wang Binglong He Chao Zhang Xiaohui 2022Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2022,21,3:1
