1Climate Change, Risk and Grain Yields in China显示文摘Adopting Just and Pope (1978, 1979) style yield functions, this paper proposes a method to analyze the impacts of regional climate change on grain production in China. We find that changes in climate will affect grain production in North and South China differently. Specifically, it emerges that a 1℃ increase in annual average temperature could reduce national grain output by 1.45% (1.74% reduction in North China and 1.19% reduction in South China), while an increase in total annual precipitation of around 100 mm could increase national grain output by 1.31% (3.0% increase in North China and 0.59% reduction in South China).Rainer Holst Xiaohua Yu Carola Grün 2013Journal of Integrative Agriculture2013,12,7:14
2Effects of Irrigation on Nitrous Oxide,Methane and Carbon Dioxide Fluxes in an Inner Mongolian Steppe显示文摘Increased precipitation during the vegetation periods was observed in and further predicted for Inner Mongolia. The changes in the associated soil moisture may affect the biosphere-atmosphere exchange of greenhouse gases. Therefore, we set up an irrigation experiment with one watered (W) and one unwatered plot (UW) at a winter-grazed Leymus chinensis-steppe site in the Xilin River catchment, Inner Mongolia. UW only received the natural precipitation of 2005 (129 mm), whereas W was additionally watered after the precipitation data of 1998 (in total 427 mm). In the 3-hour resolution, we determined nitrous oxide (N2O), methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) fluxes at both plots between May and September 2005, using a fully automated, chamber-based measuring system. N2O fluxes in the steppe were very low, with mean emissions (±s.e.) of 0.9±0.5 and 0.7±0.5 μg N m-2 h-1 at W and UW, respectively. The steppe soil always served as a CH4 sink, with mean fluxes of -24.1±3.9 and -31.1 ± 5.3 μg C m-2 h-1 at W and UW. Nighttime mean CO2 emissions were 82.6±8.7 and 26.3±1.7 mg C m-2 h-1 at W and UW, respectively, coinciding with an almost doubled aboveground plant biomass at W. Our results indicate that the ecosystem CO2 respiration responded sensitively to increased water input during the vegetation period, whereas the effects on CH4 and N2O fluxes were weak, most likely due to the high evapotranspiration and the lack of substrate for N2O producing processes. 3Nutrition in chronic pancreatitis显示文摘The pancreas is a major player in nutrient digestion.In chronic pancreatitis both exocrine and endocrine insufficiency may develop leading to malnutrition over time.Maldigestion is often a late complication of chronic pancreatic and depends on the severity of the underlying disease.The severity of malnutrition is correlated with two major factors:(1)malabsorption and depletion of nutrients(e.g.,alcoholism and pain)causes impaired nutritional status;and(2)increased metabolic activity due to the severity of the disease.Nutritional deficiencies negatively affect outcome if they are not treated.Nutritional assessment and the clinical severity of the disease are important for planning any nutritional intervention.Good nutritional practice includes screening to identify patients at risk,followed by a thoroughly nutritional assessment and nutrition plan for risk patients.Treatment should be multidisciplinary and the mainstay of treatment is abstinence from alcohol,pain treatment,dietary modifications and pancreatic enzyme supplementation.To achieve energy-end protein requirements,oral supplementation might be beneficial.Enteral nutrition may be used when patients do not have sufficient calorie intake as in pylero-duodenalstenosis,inflammation or prior to surgery and can be necessary if weight loss continues.Parenteral nutrition is very seldom used in patients with chronic pancreatitis and should only be used in case of GI-tract obstruction or as a supplement to enteral nutrition.Henrik Hφjgaard Rasmussen φivind Irtun Sφren Schou Olesen Asbjφrn Mohr Drewes Mette Holst 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,42:4

5Sensitivity of precipitation statistics to urban growth in a subtropical coastal megacity cluster显示文摘This short paper presents an investigation on how human activities may or may not affect precipitation based on numerical simulations of precipitation in a benchmark case with modified lower boundary conditions, representing different stages of urban development in the model. The results indicate that certain degrees of urbanization affect the likelihood of heavy precipitation significantly, while less urbanized or smaller cities are much less prone to these effects. Such a result can be explained based on our previous work where the sensitivity of precipitation statistics to surface anthropogenic heat sources lies in the generation of buoyancy and turbulence in the planetary boundary layer and dissipation through triggering of convection. Thus only mega cities of sufficient size, and hence human-activity-related anthropogenic heat emission, can expect to experience such effects. 8Estrogen receptor alpha gene amplification in breast cancer:25 years of debate显示文摘Twenty-five years ago,Nembrot and colleagues reported amplification of the estrogen receptor alpha gene(ESR1) in breast cancer,initiating a broad and still ongoing scientific debate on the prevalence and clinical significance of this genetic aberration,which affects one of the most important genes in breast cancer.Since then,a multitude of studies on this topic has been published,covering a wide range of divergent results and arguments.The reported prevalence of this alteration in breast cancer ranges from 0% to 75%,suggesting that ESR1 copy number analysis is hampered by technical and interpreter issues.To date,two major issues related to ESR1 amplification remain to be conclusively addressed:(1) The extent to which abundant amounts of messenger RNA can mimic amplification in standard fluorescence in situ hybridization assays in the analysis of strongly expressed genes like ESR1,and(2) the clinical relevance of ESR1 amplification:Such relevance is strongly disputed,with data showing predictive value for response as well as for resistance of the cancer to anti-estrogen therapies,or for subsequent development of cancers in the case of precursor lesions that display amplification of ESR1.This review provides a comprehensive summary of the various views on ESR1 amplification,and highlights explanations for the contradictions and conflicting data that could inform future ESR1 research.Frederik Holst 2016World Journal of Clinical Oncology2016,7,2:2
9大鼠胚胎视网膜前体细胞的分离、体外培养及鉴定显示文摘目的探讨流式细胞分析技术、免疫荧光及3HThymidine分析对大鼠胚胎视网膜前体细胞性质及其体外增殖进行鉴定的可行性。方法来源于19d胚胎大鼠视网膜的视网膜前体细胞,使用流式细胞分析及免疫荧光技术从数量及形态上对细胞性质进行鉴定。采用无血清培养基体外培养,通过3HThymidine分析、形态学观察及统计学分析,研究细胞增殖情况。结果从胚胎大鼠全层视网膜分离出的原代视网膜前体细胞,流式细胞分析结果显示:培养0d时,22.23%的细胞神经上皮干细胞蛋白(Nestin)呈阳性表达,16.04%的细胞Sox2呈阳性表达,19.66%的细胞钙结合蛋白呈阳性表达,其余终末视网膜细胞标记物(胶质纤维酸性蛋白、CD90、视紫红质、C反应蛋白、突触前膜列阵蛋白)均呈极微量阳性或阴性。免疫荧光结果显示大部分细胞及细胞球(>90%)Nestin呈阳性表达。培养6d后,流式细胞分析显示43.36%的细胞Nestin阳性,免疫荧光显示Nestin及胶质纤维酸性蛋白呈阳性。连续4d3HThymidine分析及形态学观察、统计学分析原代视网膜前体细胞初期增殖良好。结论流式细胞分析、免疫荧光及3HThymidine等免疫学技术可很好的对视网膜前体细胞性质及其增殖情况进行鉴定。大鼠胚胎原代视网膜前体细胞表现出神经干细胞的特性,根据检测手段不同,阳性结果不同,其原代视网膜前体细胞体外培养初期增殖良好。杨静 Mogens Holst Nissen 王薇 2006中华眼科杂志2006,42,2:2
