| 1 | Long-term follow up of endoscopic resection for type 3 gastric NET显示文摘AIM:To clarify the short and long-term results and to prove the usefulness of endoscopic resection in type 3gastric neuroendocrine tumors(NETs).METHODS:Of the 119 type 3 gastric NETs diagnosed from January 1996 to September 2011,50 patients treated with endoscopic resection were enrolled in this study.For endoscopic resection,endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)or endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)was used.Therapeutic efficacy,complications,and follow-up results were evaluated retrospectively.RESULTS:EMR was performed in 41 cases and ESD in 9 cases.Pathologically complete resection was performed in 40 cases(80.0%)and incomplete resection specimens were observed in 10 cases(7 vs 3 patients in the EMR vs ESD group,P=0.249).Upon analysis of the incomplete resection group,lateral or vertical margin invasion was found in six cases(14.6%)in the EMR group and in one case in the ESD group(11.1%).Lymphovascular invasions were observed in two cases(22.2%)in the ESD group and in one case(2.4%)in the EMR group(P=0.080).During the follow-up period(43.73;13-60 mo),there was no evidence of tumor recurrence in either the pathologically complete resection group or the incomplete resection group.No recurrence was reported during follow-up.In addition,no mortality was reported in either the complete resection group or the incomplete resection group for the duration of the follow-up period.CONCLUSION:Less than 2 cm sized confined submucosal layer type 3 gastric NET with no evidence of lymphovascular invasion,endoscopic treatment could be considered at initial treatment. | Yong Hwan Kwon Seong Woo Jeon Gwang Ha Kim Jin Il Kim Il-Kwun Chung Sam Ryong Jee Heung Up Kim Geom Seog Seo Gwang Ho Baik Kee Don Choi Jeong Seop Moon | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，46： | 14 |

| 5 | Absolute monocyte and lymphocyte count prognostic score for patients with gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To measure the prognostic significance of absolute monocyte count/absolute lymphocyte count prognostic score(AMLPS) in patients with gastric cancer.METHODS:We retrospectively examined the combination of absolute monocyte count(AMC) and absolute lymphocyte count(ALC) as prognostic variables in a cohort of 299 gastric cancer patients who underwent surgical resection between 2006 and 2013 and were followed at a single institution.Both AMC and ALC were dichotomized into two groups using cut-off points determined by receiving operator characteristic curve analysis.An AMLPS was generated,which stratified patients into three risk groups:low risk(both low AMC and high ALC),intermediate risk(either high AMC or low ALC),and high risk(both high AMC and low ALC).The primary objective of the study was to validate the impact of AMLPS on both disease-free survival(DFS) and overall survival(OS),and the second objective was to assess the AMLPS as an independent prognostic factor for survival in comparison with known prognostic factors.RESULTS:Using data from the entire cohort,the most discriminative cut-off values of AMC and ALC selected on the receiver operating characteristic curve were 672.4/μL and 1734/μL for DFS and OS.AMLPS risk groups included 158(52.8%) patients in the lowrisk,128(42.8%) in the intermediate-risk,and 13(4.3%) in the high-risk group.With a median followup of 37.2 mo(range:1.7-91.4 mo),five-year DFS rates in the low-,intermediate-,and high-risk groups were 83.4%,78.7%,and 19.8%,respectively.And fiveyear OS rates in the low-,intermediate-,and high-risk groups were 89.3%,81.1%,and 14.4%,respectively.On multivariate analysis performed with patient- and tumor-related factors,we identified AMLPS,age,and pathologic tumor-node-metastasis stage as the most valuable prognostic factors impacting DFS and OS.CONCLUSION:AMLPS identified patients with a poor DFS and OS,and it was independent of age,pathologic stage,and various inflammatory markers. | Wan Kyu Eo Da Wun Jeong Hye Jung Chang Kyu Yeoun Won Sung Il Choi Se Hyun Kim Sung Wook Chun Young Lim Oh Tae Hwa Lee Young Ok Kim Ki Hyung Kim Yong Il Ji Ari Kim Heung Yeol Kim | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，9： | 6 |
| 6 | Pretreated Oenan the Javanica extract increases anti-inflammatory cytokines, attenuates gliosis, and protects hippocampal neurons following transient global cerebral ischemia in gerbils显示文摘Recently,we have reported that Oenanthe javanica extract(OJE)displays strong neuroprotective effect against ischemic damage after transient global cerebral ischemia.However,neuroprotective mechanisms of OJE have not been fully identified.Thus,this study investigated the neuroprotection of OJE in the hippocampal CA1 area and its anti-inflammatory activity in gerbils subjected to 5 minutes of transient global cerebral ischemia.We treated the animals by intragastrical injection of OJE(100 and 200 mg/kg)once daily for 1 week prior to transient global cerebral ischemia.Neuroprotection of OJE was observed by immunohistochemistry for neuronal nuclear antigen and histofluorescence staining for Fluoro-Jade B.Immunohistochemistry of glial fibrillary acidic protein and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 was done for astrocytosis and microgliosis,respectively.To investigate the neuroprotective mechanisms of OJE,we performed immunohistochemistry of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-2 for pro-inflammatory function and interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 for anti-inflammatory function.When we treated the animals by intragastrical administration of 200 mg/kg of OJE,hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons were protected from transient global cerebral ischemia and cerebral ischemia-induced gliosis was inhibited in the ischemic hippocampal CA1 area.We also found that interleukin-4 and-13 immunoreactivities were significantly increased in pyramidal neurons of the ischemic CA1 area after OJE pretreatment,and the increased immunoreactivities were sustained in the CA1 pyramidal neurons after transient global cerebral ischemia.However,OJE pretreatment did not increase interleukin-2 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha immunoreactivities in the CA1 pyramidal neurons.Our findings suggest that pretreatment with OJE can protect neurons and attenuate gliosis from transient global cerebral ischemia via increasing expressions of interleukin-4 and-13.The experimental plan of this study was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee(IACUC)in Kangwon National University(approval No.KW-160802-1)on August 10,2016. | Joon Ha Park In Hye Kim Ji Hyeon Ahn YooHun Noh Sung-Su Kim Tae-Kyeong Lee Jae-Chul Lee Bich-Na Shin Tae Heung Sim Hyun Sam Lee Jeong Hwi Cho In Koo Hwang Il Jun Kang Jong Dai Kim Moo-Ho Won | 2019 | Neural Regeneration Research2019，14，9： | 6 |

| 9 | Transarterial chemoembolization in Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer Stage 0/A hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the clinical characteristics of patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC)stage 0 and A hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)after transarterial chemoembolization(TACE).METHODS:Between January 2001 and September2011,129 patients with BCLC stage 0 and stage A HCC who underwent TACE were retrospectively enrolled.Patient characteristics,routine computed tomography and TACE findings,survival time and 1-,5-,and 10-year survival rates,risk factors for mortality,and survival rates according to the number of risk factors were assessed.RESULTS:The mean size of HCC tumors was 2.4±1.1 cm,and the mean number of TACE procedures performed was 2.5±2.1.The mean overall survival time and 1-,5-,and 10-year survival rates were 80.6±4.9 mo and 91%,63%and 49%,respectively.In the Cox regression analysis,a Child-Pugh score>5(P=0.005,OR=3.86),presence of arterio-venous shunt(P=0.032,OR=4.41),amount of lipiodol used(>7 mL;P=0.013,OR=3.51),and female gender(P=0.008,OR=3.47)were risk factors for mortality.The 1-,5-,and 10-year survival rates according to the number of risk factors present were 96%,87%and 87%(no risk factors),89%,65%,and 35%(1 risk factor),96%,48%and unavailable(2 risk factors),and 63%,17%,and 0%(3 risk factors),respectively(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:TACE may be used as curative-intent therapy in patients with BCLC stage 0 and stage A HCC.The Child-Pugh score,arterio-venous shunt,amount of lipiodol used,and gender were related to mortality after TACE. | Heung Cheol Kim Ki Tae Suk Dong Joon Kim Jai Hoon Yoon Yeon Soo Kim Gwang Ho Baik Jin Bong Kim Chang Hoon Kim Hotaik Sung Jong Young Choi Kwang Hyub Han Seung Ha Park | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，3： | 2 |

| 14 | Efficient photovoltaic effect in graphene/h-BN/silicon heterostructure self-powered photodetector显示文摘Graphene(Gr)/Si-based optoelectronic devices have attracted a lot of academic attention due to the simpler fabrication processes,low costs,and higher performance of their two-dimensional(2D)/three-dimensional(3D)hybrid interfaces in Schottky junction that promotes electron-hole separation.However,due to the built-in potential of Gr/Si as a photodetector,the Iph/Idark ratio is often hindered near zero-bias at relatively low illumination intensity.This is a major drawback in self-powered photodetectors.In this study,we have demonstrated a self-powered van der Waals heterostructure photodetector in the visible range using a Gr/hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)/Si structure and clarified that the thin h-BN insertion can engineer asymmetric carrier transport and avoid interlayer coupling at the interface.The dark current was able to be suppressed by inserting an h-BN insulator layer,while maintaining the photocurrent with minimal decrease at near zero-bias.As a result,the normalized photocurrent-to-dark ratio(NPDR)is improved more than 104 times.Also,both Iph/Idark ratio and detectivity,increase by more than 104 times at−0.03 V drain voltage.The proposed Gr/h-BN/Si heterostructure is able to contribute to the introduction of next-generation photodetectors and photovoltaic devices based on graphene or silicon. | Ui Yeon Won Boo Heung Lee Young Rae Kim Won Tae Kang Ilmin Lee Ji Eun Kim Young Hee Lee Woo Jong Yu | 2021 | Nano Research2021，14，6： | 2 |

| 16 | An investigation of the microstructural effects on the mechanical and electrochemical properties of a friction stir processed equiatomic CrMnFeCoNi high entropy alloy显示文摘The electrochemical properties of a friction stir processed(FSPed)equiatomic CrMnFeCoNi high-entropy alloy(HEA)was investigated in an aerated 0.5 M Na_(2)SO_(4) electrolyte solution at room temperature.The microstructural analysis reveals a highly refined stir zone(SZ)with an average grain size that decreases from the top region of the SZ to the bottom region of the SZ(also known as shear-processed zone;SPZ).However,the region below the SPZ,(i.e.below the plunge depth)experienced an increase in average grain size and dislocation densities compared to the other regions.There is no secondary phase observed in the FSPed region,however,the microstructural evolution in the FSPed region affects the electrochemical behavior of the HEA.Cr_(2)O_(3) passive layer was observed to form on the FSPed HEA,leading to excellent corrosion properties from the polarization corrosion tests.Grain refinement in the SZ enhances the rapid formation of the passive layer,thus,leading to better corrosion properties in the front surface of the FSPed HEA.The localized corrosion behavior of the FSPed HEA was predicted to be caused by the micro-galvanic nature of the HEA,which leads to an increase in polarization at the anodic sites(pits).A numerical model was established using the corrosion parameters from the experiment to simulate the localized corrosion behavior on the surface of the FSPed HEA in a neutral environment.The predicted initial pitting potential and corresponding current density agree well with the experimental results.The model is also capable of tracking the dissolution of the pits over longer periods. | Sam Yaw Anaman Solomon Ansah Hoon-Hwe Cho Min-Gu Jo Jin-Yoo Suh Minjung Kang Jong-Sook Lee Sung-Tae Hong Heung Nam Han | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021，，28： | 2 |

A computing algorithm of our method is proposed and then applied to the daily exchange rate of US Dollar against Deutsche Mark. All the points detected by our method reflect very strong economic and political impacts. Other statistical methods to detect jump points have also been applied to the same exchange rate data.
