1Effects of Co-60 gamma-irradiation and refrigerated storage on the quality of Shatang mandarin显示文摘The effectiveness of Co-60 gamma irradiation in controlling citrus red mite(Panonychus citri McGregor)had been proved in our earlier work.However,whether it could be used as an alternative method to replace the current way of quarantine treatment against citrus red mites depends on the performances of effective doses on citrus fruits.This study was conducted to explore the effects of Co-60 gamma irradiation on the nutrient composition of citrus(Shatang mandarin);selected fruits were divided into different groups and each group was irradiated at 0.0,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5,and 0.6,respectively.And then the treated fruits were stored at 4◦C and the nutrient composition was studied in the following days.The results showed that the shelf-life could be extended when fruits were irradiated in the dose range of 0.2–0.4 kGy,while most unirradiated citrus decayed by 15 d.It also turned out that the citrus irradiated at 0.5 and 0.6 kGy were fully decayed within 45 d of refrigerated storage.The content of total soluble solids(TSS),total sugar,ascorbic acid(AA),and titratable acidity had no significant differences compare to those of the control during the 15 d storage period.Nevertheless,the activities of peroxidase(POD)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)decreased after 15 d;the improvement of storage quality and shelf life may be explained by the change of the protective enzyme activity.In conclusion,the results of citrus fruit treated with irradiation at a certain dose indicated the potential use of Co-60 gamma irradiation as a safe quarantine treatment.©2014 Beijing Academy of Food Sciences.Production and hosting by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved.Ke Zhang Yueye Deng Haohao Fu Qunfang Weng 2014Food Science and Human Wellness2014,3,1:1

3C16 peptide and angiopoietin-1 protect against LPS-induced BV-2 microglial cell inflammation显示文摘Pathological alterations in the brain can cause microglial activation(MA).Thus,inhibiting MA could provide a new approach for treating neurodegenerative disorders.To investigate the effect of C16 peptide and angiopoietin-1(Ang1)on inflammation following MA,we stimulated microglial BV-2 cells with lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and used dexmedetomidine(DEX)as a positive control.Specific inhibitors of Tie2,avβ3 and a5β1 integrins,and PI3K/Akt were applied to investigate the neuron-protective and anti-inflammatory effects and signaling pathway of C16+Angl treatment in the LPS-induced BV-2 cells.Our results showed that C16+Ang1 treatment reduced the microglia M1 phenotype but promoted the microglia M2 phenotype.Fu Xiaoxiao Chen Haohao Han Shu 2021解剖学杂志2021,44,S01:0
4In-situ synthesis of quantum dots in the nucleus of live cells显示文摘The cell nucleus is the main site for the storage and replication of genetic material,and the synthesis of substances in the nucleus is rhythmic,regular and strictly regulated by physiological processes.However,whether exogenous substances,such as nanoparticles,can be synthesized in situ in the nucleus of live cells has not been reported.Here,we have achieved in-situ synthesis of CdSx Se1−x quantum dots(QDs)in the nucleus by regulation of the glutathione(GSH)metabolic pathway.High enrichment of GSH in the nucleus can be accomplished by the addition of GSH with the help of the Bcl-2 protein.Then,high-valence Se is reduced to low-valence Se by glutathione-reductase-catalyzed GSH,and interacts with the Cd precursor formed through Cd and thiol-rich proteins,eventually generating QDs in the nucleus.Our work contributes to a new understanding of the syntheses of substances in the cell nucleus and wi l l pave the way for the development of advanced‘supercells’.Yusi Hu Zhi-Gang Wang Haohao Fu Chuanzheng Zhou Wensheng Cai Xueguang Shao Shu-Lin Liu Dai-Wen Pang 2024National Science Review2024,11,3:0
5Spatiotemporal variations of ambient air pollutants and meteorological influences over typical urban agglomerations in China during the COVID-19 lockdown显示文摘To investigate the air quality change during the COVID-19 pandemic,we analyzed spatiotemporal variations of six criteria pollutants in nine typical urban agglomerations in China using ground-based data and examined meteorological influences through correlation analysis and backward trajectory analysis under different responses.Concentrations of PM2.5,PM10,NO2,SO2 and CO in urban agglomerations respectively decreased by 18%–45%(30%–62%),17%–53%(22%–39%),47%-64%(14%–41%),9%–34%(0%–53%)and 16%-52%(23%–56%)during Lockdown(Post-lockdown)period relative to Pre-lockdown period.PM2.5 pollution events occurred during Lockdown in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebe(BTH)and Middle and South Liaoning(MSL),and daily O3 concentration rose to gradeⅡstandard in Post-lockdown period.Distinct from the nationwide slump of NO2 during Lockdown period,a rebound(~40%)in Post-lockdown period was observed in Cheng-Yu(CY),Yangtze River Middle-Reach(YRMR),Yangtze River Delta(YRD)and Pearl River Delta(PRD).With slightly higher wind speed compared with 2019,the reduction of PM2.5(51%–62%)in Post-lockdown period is more than2019(15%–46%)in HC(Harbin-Changchun),MSL,BTH,CP(Central Plain)and SP(ShandongPeninsula),suggesting lockdown measures are effective to PM2.5 alleviation.Although O3 concentrations generally increased during the lockdown,its increment rate declined compared with 2019 under similar sunlight duration and temperature.Additionally,unlike HC,MSL and BTH,which suffered from additional(>30%)air masses from surrounding areas after the lockdown,the polluted air masses reaching YRD and PRD mostly originated from the long-distance transport,highlighting the importance of joint regional governance.Linping Fan Shuang Fu Xin Wang Qingyan Fu Haohao Jia Hao Xu Guimei Qin Xue Hu Jinping Cheng 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,8:0
6Unveiling the Hidden Movements in the Shuttling of Rotaxanes显示文摘Movements in molecular machines are usually diverse and coupled,but some of them are often implicit and hard to be observed in experiments.In the present work,the two-or three-dimensional free-energy landscapes characterizing the coupled shutthng and other movements of a series of pH-triggered rotaxanes composed of a crown ether and an H-shaped axle with distinct number of phenyl rings(n=1-3)have been explored.The results show that although the calculated free-energy barriers against shutthng in the rotaxanes(n=2 and 3)change slightly,the move-ments coupled with the shutthng vary significantly with the axle length.At high pH,the shutthng in the rotaxane of n=2 is coupled with the isomerization of the wheel,while the shutthng in the one of n=3 is accompanied by both the isomerization and the rotation of the macrocycle.In addition,the crown ether imdenvent greater conlomiational change during shutthng at low pH compared to that at high pH.These results indicate that disentangling the coupled movements is important to reveal the underlying molecular mechanism of the shutthng.GUO Yichang FU Haohao SHAO Xueguang CAI Wensheng 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,5:0
