| 1 | Adherence to medication: A nation-wide study from the Children's Cancer Hospital, Egypt显示文摘AIM: To investigate adherence to medical regimen and predictors for non-adherence among children with cancer in Egypt. METHODS: We administered two study specific questionnaires to 304 parents of children diagnosed with cancer at the Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, one before the first chemotherapy treatment and the other before the third. The questionnaires were translated to colloquial Egyptian Arabic, and due, to the high illiteracy level in Egypt an interviewer read thequestions in Arabic to each parent and registered the answers. Both questionnaires consisted of almost 90 questions each. In addition, a Case Report Form was filled in from the child's medical journal. The study period consisted of 7 mo(February until September 2008) and we had a participation rate of 97%. Descriptive statistics are presented and Fisher's exact test was used to check for possible differences between the adherent and non-adherent groups. A P-value below 0.05 was considered significant. Software used was SAS version 9.3 for Windows(SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, United States).RESULTS: Two hundred and eighty-one(90%) parents answered the second questionnaire, regarding their child's adherence behaviour. Approximately two thirds of the children admitted to their third chemotherapy treatment had received medical recommendations upon discharge from the first or second chemotherapy treatment(181/281, 64%). Sixty-eight percent(123/181) of the parents who were given medical recommendations reported that their child did not follow the recommendations. Two main predictors were found for non-adherence: child resistance(111/123, 90%) and inadequate information(100/123, 81%). In the adherent group, 20% of the parents(n = 12/58) reported trust in their child's doctor while 14 percent 8/58 reported trust in the other health-care professionals. Corresponding numbers for the non-adherent group are 8/123(7%) for both their child's doctor and other health-care professionals. Almost all of the parents expressed a lack of optimism towards the treatment(116/121, 96%), yet they reported an intention to continue with the treatment for two main reasons, for the sake of their child's life(70%)(P = 0.005) and worry that their child would die if they discontinued the treatment(81%)(P < 0.0001).CONCLUSION: Non-adherence to medical regimen is common among children diagnosed with cancer inEgypt, the main reasons being child resistance and inadequate information. | Hanan El Malla Nathalie Ylitalo Helm Ulrica Wilder?ng Yasser El Sayed Elborai Gunnar Steineck Ulrika Kreicbergs | 2013 | World Journal of Psychiatry2013,3,2: | 1 |

| 5 | Dendritic cell co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory markers in chronic HCV: An Egyptian study显示文摘AIM:To assess co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory markers of dendritic cells(DCs)in hepatitis C virus(HCV)infected subjects with and without uremia.METHODS:Three subject groups were included in the study:group 1 involved 50 control subjects,group2 involved 50 patients with chronic HCV infection and group 3 involved 50 HCV uremic subjects undergoing hemodialysis.CD83,CD86 and CD40 as co-stimulatory markers and PD-L1 as a co-inhibitory marker were assessed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells by realtime polymerase chain reaction.Interleukin-10(IL-10)and hyaluronic acid(HA)levels were also assessed.All findings were correlated with disease activity,viral load and fibrogenesis.RESULTS:There was a significant decrease in costimulatory markers;CD83,CD86 and CD40 in groups2 and 3 vs the control group.Co-stimulatory markers were significantly higher in group 3 vs group 2.There was a significant elevation in PD-L1 in both HCV groups vs the control group.PD-L1 was significantly lower in group 3 vs group 2.There was a significant elevation in IL-10 and HA levels in groups 2 and 3,where IL-10was higher in group 3 and HA was lower in group 3 vs group 2.HA level was significantly correlated with disease activity and fibrosis grade in group 2.IL-10 was significantly correlated with fibrosis grade in group 2.There were significant negative correlations between co-stimulatory markers and viral load in groups 2 and3,except CD83 in dialysis patients.There was a significant positive correlation between PD-L1 and viral load in both HCV groups.CONCLUSION:A significant decrease in DC co-stimulatory markers and a significant increase in a DC coinhibitory marker were observed in HCV subjects and to a lesser extent in dialysis patients. | Hanan Fouad Maissa Saeed El Raziky Rasha Ahmed Abdel Aziz Dina Sabry Ghada Mahmoud Abdel Aziz Manal Ewais Ahmed Reda Sayed | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,43: | 0 |

| 7 | Regulatory and activated effector T cells in chronic hepatitis C virus: Relation to autoimmunity显示文摘AIM To investigate how Tregs are regulated in chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV) patients via assessment of Tregs markers(granzyme 2, CD69 and FoxP3), Teffs markers [TNFRSF4(OX40), INFG] and CD4, CD25 genes. METHODS A prospective study was conducted on 120 subjects divided into 4 groups: Group Ⅰ(n = 30) treatment na?ve chronic HCV patients; Group Ⅱ(n = 30) chronic HCV treated with Peg/Riba; Group Ⅲ(n = 30) chronic HCV associated with non-organ specific autoantibody and Group Ⅳ(n = 30) healthy persons as a control group. Tregs and Teffs markers were assessed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells by quantitative real time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS Chronic HCV patients exhibited significant higher levels of both Teffs and Tregs in comparison to healthy control group. Tregs markers were significantly decreased in Peg/Riba treated HCV patients in comparison to treatment na?ve HCV group. In HCV patients with antinuclear antibody(ANA) +ve, Tregs markers were significantly decreased in comparison to all other studied groups. Teffs markers were significantly elevated in all HCV groups in comparison to control and in HCV group with ANA +ve in comparison to treatment na?ve HCV group.CONCLUSION Elevated Tregs cells in chronic HCV patients dampen both CD4^+ and CD8^+ autologous T cell immune response. Interferon-α and ribavirin therapy suppress proliferation of Tregs. | 8 | Seeker Optimization with Deep Learning Enabled Sentiment Analysis on Social Media;显示文摘World Wide Web enables its users to connect among themselves through social networks,forums,review sites,and blogs and these interactions produce huge volumes of data in various forms such as emotions,sentiments,views,etc.Sentiment Analysis(SA)is a text organization approach that is applied to categorize the sentiments under distinct classes such as positive,negative,and neutral.However,Sentiment Analysis is challenging to perform due to inadequate volume of labeled data in the domain of Natural Language Processing(NLP).Social networks produce interconnected and huge data which brings complexity in terms of expanding SA to an extensive array of applications.So,there is a need exists to develop a proper technique for both identification and classification of sentiments in social media.To get rid of these problems,Deep Learning methods and sentiment analysis are consolidated since the former is highly efficient owing to its automatic learning capability.The current study introduces a Seeker Optimization Algorithm with Deep Learning enabled SA and Classification(SOADL-SAC)for social media.The presented SOADL-SAC model involves the proper identification and classification of sentiments in social media.In order to attain this,SOADL-SAC model carries out data preprocessing to clean the input data.In addition,Glove technique is applied to generate the feature vectors.Moreover,Self-Head Multi-Attention based Gated Recurrent Unit(SHMA-GRU)model is exploited to recognize and classify the sentiments.Finally,Seeker Optimization Algorithm(SOA)is applied to fine-tune the hyperparameters involved in SHMA-GRU model which in turn enhances the classifier results.In order to validate the enhanced outcomes of the proposed SOADL-SAC model,various experiments were conducted on benchmark datasets.The experimental results inferred the better performance of SOADLSAC model over recent state-of-the-art approaches. | Hanan M.Alghamdi Saadia H.A.Hamza Aisha M.Mashraqi Sayed Abdel-Khalek | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,12: | 0 |
