1Periodicities in the emplacement of large igneous provinces through the Phanerozoic:Relations to ocean chemistry and marine biodiversity evolution显示文摘Large igneous provinces(LIPs) are considered a relevant cause for mass extinctions of marine life throughout Earth’s history.Their flood basalts and associated intrusions can cause significant release of SO4 and CO2 and consequently,cause major environmental disruptions.Here,we reconstruct the long-term periodic pattern of UP emplacement and its impact on ocean chemistry and biodiversity fromδ34Ssulfate of the last 520 Ma under particular consideration of the preservation limits of UP records.A combination of cross-wavelet and other time-series analysis methods has been applied to quantify a potential chain of linkage between LIP emplacement periodicity,geochemical changes and the Phanerozoic marine genera record.We suggest a mantle plume cyclicity represented by LIP volumes(V) of V= -(350-770)×103 km3 sin(2πt/ 170 Ma)+(300-650)×103km3sin(2πt/64.5Ma + 2.3) for t=time in Ma.A shift from the 64.5 Ma to a weaker~28-35 Ma UP cyclicity during the Jurassic contributes together with probably independent changes in the marine sulfur cycle to less ocean anoxia,and a general stabilization of ocean chemistry and increasing marine biodiversity throughout the last~135 Ma.The UP cycle pattern is coherent with marine biodiversity fluctuations corresponding to a reduction of marine biodiversity of~120 genera/Ma at~600×103 km3 LIP eruption volume.The 62-65 Ma LIP cycle pattern as well as excursion inδ34Ssulfateand marine genera reduction suggest a not-yet identified found LIP event at~440-450 Ma.Andreas Prokoph Hafida E1 Bilali Richard Ernst 2013Geoscience Frontiers2013,4,3:8

4Effect of Soluble Components From Plant Aggregates on the Setting of the Lime-Based Binder显示文摘Plant aggregate-based building materials are a viable solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing good thermal and acoustic performances.In this study,the investigated lightweight mortars require a hydraulic reaction.Laboratory and on-site empirical observations about plant aggregate-based materials indicate a delay in setting time and a decrease in the mechanical performances of concretes based on plant aggregates.The natural origin of plant-aggregates causes a lot of variability in their properties.Related studies have shown that the incompatibility between plant aggregates and cement is mainly caused by the dissolved and decomposed components of plant aggregates in alkaline environments.Currently,no research on the specific impact of each component on the setting time of lime-based binder exists.In this work,the impact of some soluble compounds(e.g.,sucrose,glucose,fructose,pectin)on the setting reaction of the lime matrix was studied using Vicat test,thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and FT-IR spectroscopy.Experimental results showed that carbohydrates such as glucose and sucrose not only affect the setting time but also have a long-term impact on the carbonation of lime.The measure of the setting time by Vicat test appears as a possible indicator to predict the compatibility between the matrix and plant aggregates.Lepeng Wang Hélène Lenormand Hafida Zmamou Nathalie Leblanc 2019Journal of Renewable Materials2019,7,9:1

13A NEW SELF-ADAPTIVE ITERATIVE METHOD FOR GENERAL MIXED QUASI VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES显示文摘The general mixed quasi variational inequality containing a nonlinear term φ is a useful and an important generalization of variational inequalities. The projection method can not be applied to solve this problem due to the presence of nonlinear term. It is well known that the variational inequalities involving the nonlinear term φ are equivalent to the fixed point problems and resolvent equations. In this article, the authors use these alternative equivalent formulations to suggest and analyze a new self-adaptive iterative method for solving general mixed quasi variational inequalities. Global convergence of the new method is proved. 18Genetic Diversity Assessment of Moroccan Sesame(Sesamum indicum L.)Populations Using Agro-morphological Traits显示文摘Genetic diversity of Moroccan sesame(Sesamum indicum L.)was analyzed for the first time using agro-morphological traits.Thirty-three sesame populations collected from Tadla region in Morocco were evaluated for 13 parameters in three contrasted environments,Afr-13,Afr-14 and Atj-14.Broad and significant variation among populations was observed only for three agro-morphologic traits,namely first capsule height(FCH),number of seeds per capsule(NSC)and thousand seeds weight(TSW).The respective overall averages were 71.82 cm(ranging from 65 cm to 77 cm),61.39(varying from 57 to 65)and 3.20 g(ranging from 3.0 g to 3.4 g).Environment had a highly significant effect on all studied parameters,except capsule size and oil content.The obtained mean values of parameters studied showed that environment Afr-14 was the most favorable for most of them,particularly seed yield(1.32 t/ha)and TSW(3.57 g).Significant and interesting correlations were observed between seed yield per plant(SYP)and other parameters.As relevant implication of this finding,number of capsules per plant(NCP)and NSC could be used as valuable selection criteria in sesame breeding program.However,limited and non-significant variation among sesame populations for most of parameters studied suggests that they are genetically very close and may be derived from a single cultivar or germplasm.Molecular characterization is needed to confirm or refute this hypothesis.Besides,when compared with sesame grown throughout the world,Moroccan sesame was found to be very promising,which open up the possibility to develop this crop in this country.Meriem El Harfi Marouane Jbilou Hafida Hanine Hajar Rizki Mohamed Fechtali Abdelghani Nabloussi 2018Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(A)2018,8,5:0
