Surface characteristics of rapidly solidified nickel-based superalloy pow-ders prepared by PREP显示文摘The surface microstructure and the surface segregation of FGH95 nickel-based superalloy powders prepared through plasma rotating electrode processing (PREP) have been investigated by using SEM and AES. The results indicate that the surface microstructure of powders changes fiom dendrite into cellular structure as the particle size of powders decrease, and the predominant precipitates solidified on the particle surfaces were identified as MC' type carbides enriched with Nb and Ti. It was also indicated that along with the depth of particle surfaces, the segregation layer of S, C and O elements are thick, and that of Ti, Cr elements are thin for large size powders while they are in reverse for median size particles. | CHEN Huanming , HU Benfu , and LI Huiying1) School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China2) School of Physics and Electrical Information Engineering, Ningxia University, Yinchuan 750021, China | 2003 | Rare Metals2003,22,4: | 6
Microstructure Stability of V and Ta Microalloyed 12%Cr Reduced Activation Ferrite/Martensite Steel during Long-term Aging at 650℃显示文摘In view of developing novel alloys for applications in supercritical water-cooled reactor fuel cladding and in-core components, a 12%Cr reduced activation ferrite/martensite(RAFM) steel with good corrosion resistance and irradiation performance was developed. V and Ta were added to form fine MX type carbonitrides and enhance the high temperature creep rupture strength. Microstructure stability of the steel during long-term aging at 650 C was studied experimentally combined with the simulation of ThermoCalc and DICTRA software. The results show that the precipitates in the steel during long-term aging contain M23C6, MX and Laves phase. M23C6 carbides play a major role in the stabilization of the tempered martensite lath structure by exerting a large Zener pinning force as compared with MX and Laves phase.Adding V and Ta in the steel can not only promote MX precipitation, but also refine M23C6 carbides and thus improve the thermal stability of lath/subgrains, which is beneficial to the improvement of high temperature microstructure stability of the 12%Cr RAFM steel. | Xiang Xiao Guoquan Liu Benfu Hu Jinsan Wang Wenbin Ma | 2015 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,3: | 5
Hot deformation behavior of FGH96 superalloys显示文摘The hot deformation behavior of FGH96 superalloys at 1070-1170°C and 5×10?4-2×10?1 s?1 were investigated by means of the isothermal compression tests at a Gleeble-1500 thermal mechanical simulator. The results show that dynamic recovery acts as the main softening mechanism below 2×10?3 s?1, whereas dynamic recrystallization acts as the main softening mechanism above 2×10?3 s?1 during deformation; the temperature increase caused by the deformation and the corresponding softening stress is negligible; the thermal-mechanical constitutive model to describe the hot deformation behavior is given, and the value of the apparent deformation activation energy (Qdef ) is determined to be 354.93 kJ/mol. | Jiantao Liu Guoquan Liu Benfu Hu Yuepeng Song Ziran Qin Yiwen Zhang | 2006 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2006,13,4: | 4
Effect of solution cooling rate on the γ′ precipitation behaviors of a Ni-base P/M superalloy显示文摘The effect of cooling rate on the cooling γ′ precipitation behaviors was investigated in a Ni-base powder/metallurgy (P/M) superalloy (FGH4096). The empirical equations were established between the cooling rate and the average sizes of secondary and tertiary γ′ precipitates within grains and tertiary γ′ precipitates at grain boundaries, as well as the apparent width of grain boundaries. The results show that the average sizes of secondary or tertiary γ′ precipitates are inversely correlated with the cooling rate. The shape of secondary γ′ precipitates within grains changes from butterfly-like to spherical with the increase of cooling rate, but all the tertiary γ′ precipitates formed are spherical in shape. It is also found that tertiary γ′ may be precipitated in the latter part of the cooling cycle only if the cooling rate is not faster than 4.3°C/s, and the apparent width of grain boundaries decreases linearly with the in-crease of cooling rate. | Gaofeng Tian Chengchang Jia Ying Wen Benfu Hu | 2008 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2008,15,6: | 3
Cooling γ′ precipitation behavior and strengthening in powder metallurgy su-peralloy FGH4096显示文摘Two cooling schemes (continuous cooling and interrupted cooling tests) were applied to investigate the cooling γ′ precipitation behavior in powder metallurgy superalloy FGH4096. The effect of cooling rate on cooling γ′ precipitation and the development of γ′ precipitates during cooling process were involved in this study. The ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of the specimens in various cooling circumstances was tested. The experiential equations were obtained between the average sizes of secondary and tertiary γ′ precipitates, the strength, and cooling rate. The results show that they are inversely correlated with the cooling rate as well as the grain boundary changes from serrated to straight, the shape of secondary γ′ precipitates changes from irregular cuboidal to spherical, while the formed tertiary γ′ precipitates are always spherical. The interrupted cooling tests show that the average size of secondary γ′ precipitates increases as a linear function of interrupt temperature for a fixed cooling rate of 24°C/min. The strength first decreases and then increases against interrupt temperature, which is fundamentally caused by the multistage nucleation of γ′ precipitates during cooling process. | TIAN Gaofeng JIA Chengchang WEN Yin LIU Guoquan HU Benfu | 2008 | Rare Metals2008,27,4: | 3
SOLIDIFICATION MICROSTRUCTURE OF Ni-BASE SUPERALLOY POWDER显示文摘The solidification microstructure and phase composition of Ni-base superalloy FGH95 pow-der with different mesh size have been investigated. The structure transition was found fromdendrite in major into cellular structure as the powder size reduces and the cooling rate in-creases.The predominant phase was identified as MC-type carbide, with differentmorphologies, which may be related to their composition and the condition ofsolidification.Minor phases, such as boride,Laves and primary γ’ are also present as ac-companiments of the carbide. | HU Benfu LI Huiying WU Chengjian ZHANG Shouhua University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing,China Associate Professor,Dept.of Material Science and Engineering,University of Science and technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China. | 1991 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1991,4,2: | 2
Stability of γ′ multimodal microstructure in a Ni-based powder metallurgy superalloy显示文摘Multimodal size distribution of γ′ phase was obtained in a slow-cooling experiment following supersolvus solution treatment(1191°C). The morphology of the secondary γ′ particles exhibited splitting and protrusion instabilities. In the subsequent aging process(815°C), reverse coarsening was observed, i.e., the average precipitate size decreased with increasing aging time.Reverse coarsening slows the coarsening rate of the precipitates, increases the hardness of the alloy, and greatly improves the morphological stability of the γ′ phase. | ZHANG Ming LIU GuoQuan WANG Hao HU BenFu | 2018 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,12: | 2

Numerical calculation on temperature field of FGH95 alloy droplet during rapid solidification显示文摘The temperature field of FGH95 alloy droplet atomized by plasma rotating electrode processing (PREP) during solidifica-tion has been calculated through numerical analysis based on equivalent sensible heat capacity method. And thus the relational cul-ves among temperature gradient of solid-liquid interface, moving velocity of solid-liquid interface and solid fraction during solidifi-cation have been presented. The results indicate that the relation between average temperature gradient of solid-liquid interface anddroplet size, and the relation between average moving velocity of solid-liquid interface and droplet size can be expressed during solidification. | Huanming Chen and Benfu Hu Materials Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083,China Physics and Electrical Information Engineering School, Ningxia University, Yinchuan 750021,China | 2003 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2003,10,3: | 1
Radiation Induced Segregation of Fe-Cr-Mn(W,V) Alloyunder Electron/Helium Dual-beam Irradiation显示文摘The radiation induced segregation (RIS) was studied by electron/helium dual-beam irradiation. Within agrain, the content of Cr and Mn were higher in the center than at the margin of the irradiated areas. In thecontrary, withim the irradiated areas included grain boundaries the contents of Cr and Mn decreased at the grainboundaries. RIS was weaker under dual-beam irradiation than that under electron single-beam irradiation, whichwas because of the increases of dislocation density and sink strength of voids when helium existed. | HU Benfu Takahashi H Ninoshita H(Department of Material Science and Engineering, USTB, Beijing 100083, China)(Center for Advanced Research of Energy Technology, Hokkaido University, Sapporo 060, Japan) | 1997 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials1997,11,1: | 0

Irradiation Damage of Oxide Dispersion Strengthened Ferritic Steel after Recrystallization显示文摘The evolution of secondary defects and the characteristics of the void swelling of electrons irradiated Oxide Dispersion Strengthened Ferritic Steels (ODS steels) after recrystallization were studied. It was found that recrystallization increases the void swelling of ODS steel as compared with solution and injected He+ + D+ states. There are two size ranges of voids formed in recrystallized ODS steel during irradiation, and bubbles can be preferential sites for the void formation. Polycrystal with low density of defects is formed, and sites where point defects disappear by irradiation decrease. This is the main reason for the increase of void swelling of ODS steel after recrystallization. | Benfu Hu Shunmi Peng H Takahashi(Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China)(Faculty of Engineering, Hokkado University, Sapporo 060, Japan) | 1998 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials1998,12,3: | 0
ELECTRON RADIATION INDUCED VOID SWELLING AND GRAIN BOUNDARY SEGREGATION IN AN Fe-Cr-Mn AUSTENITIC ALLOY显示文摘The behavior of void swelling and segregation in Fe-15Cr-xMn alloys and an alloy con-taining small amount of W and V was investigated by electron-irradiation.The compositionalanalysis in the irradiated regions including grain boundaries was performed. The resultdts showthat there are many common features of irradiuation tehavior in the Fe-Cr-Mn andFe-Cr-Ni systems while there are some significant differences,In the Fe-Cr-Mn alloy sys-tems void swelling was rematrkably suppressed and at the same time the radiation-inducedsegregation was also retarded, furthermore, the segregation was strongly retarded in anFe-15Cr-15Mn alloy containing small amount of W and V.The results also show that Ni re-placed by Mn does not in general confer immunity from either swelling or phase instabilities. The phase instability is due to the different diffusion behavior of Ni and Mn in reponse to theoperation of the inverse-Kirkendall effecr.Fe segregates to the microstructural sinks in theFe-Cr-Mn alloys. The segregation of Fe often leads to the formation of ferrite. This fact isbeneficial to reducing the swelling rate and segregation on the grain boundaries. | HU Benfu University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing,ChinaTAKAHASHI Heishichiro,ITOH Hisatoshi,TAKEYAMA Taro Hokkaido University,Sapporo,060,Japan Associate Professor,Dept of Materials Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China | 1990 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1990,3,4: | 0
Effect of Ta on the microstructure of high performance Ni-based powder metallurgy superalloys显示文摘The effect of Ta on the microstructures of nickel-based powder metallurgy superalloys with different Ta contents was investigated in experiments and thermodynamic calculations. The Ta element predominantly occupied the γ′ phase of the superalloys, with some incursion into the γ phase, and minimal presence in the MC carbide. By substituting part of the Ti-Nb alloy, the Ta element transforms(Ti-Nb)C into(Ti-Ta-Nb)C. The MC carbides and small amounts of M23C6 carbides were observed on the ribbon-like grain boundaries. The Ta addition little affected the primary γ′ phase, but greatly influenced the secondary γ′phase. Ta promoted the splitting of the secondary γ′ phase, converting it to a more stable state. Increasing the Ta content increased the lattice constants of γ′ and γ and altered the degree of misfit between γ′ and γ, indicating a morphology change. The Ta content also influenced the formation of the tertiary γ′ phase. | WANG ZhiCheng WANG Hao LIU GuoQuan HUANG HaiLiang ZHANG HongFei SHAO YinLong HU BenFu | 2019 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2019,62,11: | 0
