1Lattice Boltzmann method and its applications in engineering thermophysics显示文摘The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), a mesoscopic method between the molecular dynamics method and the conventional numerical methods, has been developed into a very efficient numerical alternative in the past two decades. Unlike conventional numerical methods, the kinetic theory based LBM simulates fluid flows by tracking the evolution of the particle distribution function, and then accumulates the distribution to obtain macroscopic averaged properties. In this article we review some work on LBM applications in engineering thermophysics: (1) brief introduction to the development of the LBM; (2) fundamental theory of LBM including the Boltzmann equation, Maxwell distribution function, Boltzmann-BGK equation, and the lattice Boltzmann-BGK equation; (3) lattice Boltzmann models for compressible flows and non-equilibrium gas flows, bounce back-specular-reflection boundary scheme for microscale gaseous flows, the mass modified outlet boundary scheme for fully developed flows, and an implicit-explicit finite-difference-based LBM; and (4) applications of the LBM to oscillating flow, compressible flow, porous media flow, non-equilibrium flow, and gas resonant oscillating flow.HE YaLing LI Qing WANG Yong TANG GuiHua 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,22:19
2A design method and numerical study for a new type parabolic trough solar collector with uniform solar flux distribution显示文摘The non-uniform concentrated solar flux distribution on the outer surface of the absorber tube can lead to large circumferential temperature difference and high local temperature of the absorber tube wall,which is one of the primary causes of parabolic trough solar receiver(PTR)failures.In this paper,a secondary reflector used as a homogenizing reflector(HR)in a conventional parabolic trough solar collector(PTSC)was recommended to homogenize the solar flux distribution and thus increase the reliability of the PTR.The design method of this new type PTSC with a HR was also proposed.Meanwhile,the concentrated solar flux distribution was calculated by adopting the Monte Carlo ray-trace(MCRT)method.Then,the coupled heat transfer process within the PTR was simulated by treating the solar flux calculated by the MCRT method as the heat flux boundary condition for the finite volume method model.The solar flux distribution on the outer surface of the absorber tube,the temperature field of the absorber tube wall,and the collector efficiency were analyzed in detail.It was revealed that the absorber tube could almost be heated uniformly in the PTSC with a HR.As a result,the circumferential temperature difference and the maximum temperature could be reduced significantly,while the efficiency tended to decrease slightly due to the inevitably increased optical loss.Under the conditions studied in this paper,although the collector efficiency decreased by about 4%,the circumferential temperature difference was reduced from about 25 to 3 K and the maximum temperature was reduced from667 to 661 K.WANG Kun HE YaLing CHENG ZeDong 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,3:15
32018 update of expert consensus statement on antiplatelet therapy in East Asian patients with ACS or undergoing PCI显示文摘East Asians are the most populous race in the world and their health status is an important global issue.Compared with Caucasian populations, East Asian patients have a different benefit/risk ratio when using antithrombotic treatment. Despite this observation, treatment strategies in East Asian patients are mostly based on the American and European guidelines. Despite a lower platelet inhibitory response to clopidogrel, East Asian patients show a similar or even a lower rate of ischemic event occurrence and higher bleeding risk compared with Caucasian patients. For potent P2Y_(12) inhibitors(ticagrelor and prasugrel),East Asian patients have shown less favorable net clinical benefits compared with Caucasian patients,which may be related to differences in pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic profiles and therapeutic zone of antiplatelet effect. This updated consensus mainly focuses on state-of-the-art and current controversies in the East Asian population. 4An entransy dissipation-based optimization principle for solar power tower plants显示文摘The entransy theory,which can be used to optimize the heat transfer network of a solar power tower system(SPTS)and improve its energy efficiency,was introduced in this paper.Firstly,the irreversibility of the heat transfer processes in a SPTS was analyzed and the total entransy dissipation equation of a SPTS was derived.Then,two types of optimization problems(reducing the total circulating flow rate or the total heat-exchanging area)of a SPTS were solved with conditional extremum model based on the formulas of total entransy dissipation.Finally,the entransy dissipation-based optimization principle was applied to a simple SPTS without re-heater and a complex SPTS with a re-heater.The results showed that under the chosen calculation conditions the minimum total thermal conductance was 19306.03 W K?1 for a SPTS without re-heater when the total heat capacity rate of heat transfer fluid(HTF)was 3200 W K?1.The minimum total thermal conductance was about 7.9%lower than the value predicted based on the typical outlet temperature of a receiver.This meant that the total heat exchange area or initial investment could be effectively reduced under the prescribed total HTF circulating flow rate.We also studied the variation trends of the two optimized results including minimum total HTF heat capacity rate and minimum total thermal conductance.The minimum total HTF heat capacity rate decreased with the given total thermal conductance,the minimum total thermal conductance decreased first and then increased with the given total HTF heat capacity rate.We also found that for a SPTS with a re-heater,the mixing temperature and the mixing position of HTF had significant effects on the two types of optimization problems.ZHENG ZhangJing HE YaLing LI YinShi 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4:11

6Thermal analysis of a solar parabolic trough receiver tube with porous insert optimized by coupling genetic algorithm and CFD显示文摘In this paper, the heat transfer enhancement in a solar parabolic trough receiver tube with porous insert and non-uniform heat flux condition was investigated. A new optimization method, which couples genetic algorithm(GA) and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) based on Socket communication, was proposed to optimize the configuration of porous insert. After the acquisition of the optimal porous inserts, some performance evaluation criterions such as synergy angle, entransy dissipation and exergy loss were introduced to discuss the heat transfer performance of the enhanced receiver tubes(ERTs) with optimal and referenced porous inserts. The results showed that, for a large range of properties of porous insert(including porosity and thermal conductivity) and Reynolds number, the heat-transfer performance of ERT with porous insert optimized by GA is always higher than that of the referenced ERTs. Better heat-transfer performance can further improve the solar-to-thermal energy conversion efficiency and mechanical property of the solar parabolic trough receiver. When some porous materials with high thermal conductivity are adopted, ERT can simultaneously obtain perfect thermal and thermo-hydraulic performance by using the same optimized porous insert, which cannot be achieved by using the referenced porous insert. In the view of those introduced evaluation criterions, using the optimized porous insert can obtain better synergy performance and lesser irreversibility of heat transfer than using the referenced porous insert. Entransy dissipation per unit energy transferred and exergy loss rate have equivalent effects on the evaluation of irreversibility of heat transfer process. 8An Overview of Terahertz Antennas显示文摘The terahertz(THz)antennas,which have features of small size,wide frequency bandwidth and high data rate,are important devices for transmitting and receiving THz electromagnetic waves in the emerging THz systems.However,most of THz antennas suffer from relatively high loss and low fabrication precision due to their small sizes in high frequency bands of THz waves.Therefore,this paper presents a detailed overview of the most recent research on the performance improvement of THz antennas.Firstly,the development of THz antennas is briefly reviewed and the basic design ideas of THz antennas are introduced.Then,THz antennas are categorized as metallic antennas,dielectric antennas and new material antennas.After that,the latest research progress in THz photoconductive antennas,THz horn antennas,THz lens antennas,THz microstrip antennas and THz on-chip antennas are discussed.In particular,the practical difficulties for the development of THz antennas are discussed with promising approaches.In addition,this paper also presents a short review of the process technology of THz antennas.Finally,the vital challenges and the future research directions for THz antennas are presented.Yejun He Yaling Chen Long Zhang Sai-Wai Wong Zhi Ning Chen 2020China Communications2020,17,7:6
9Implementation of an efficient segregated algorithm-IDEAL on 3D collocated grid system显示文摘The segregated algorithm-IDEAL (inner doubly-iterative efficient algorithm for linked-equations) is an efficient and stable algorithm. In this algorithm, there exist inner doubly-iterative processes for pres-sure equation, which almost completely overcome two approximations in SIMPLE algorithm. Thus the coupling between velocity and pressure is fully guaranteed, greatly enhancing the convergence rate and stability of iteration process. In this paper, implementation of the IDEAL algorithm on a 3D collo-cated grid system is conducted. The interface velocity is calculated by the modified momentum inter-polation method (MMIM), by which the converged result is independent of the under-relaxation factor. Finally, five three-dimensional incompressible fluid flow and heat transfer problems are provided to compare the convergence rate and robustness between the IDEAL and three other most widely-used algorithms (SIMPLER, SIMPLEC and PISO). 11Murine fertilized ovum, blastomere and morula cells lacking SP phenotype显示文摘In the field of stem cell research, SP (side population) phenotype is used to define the property that cells maintain a high efflux capability for some fluorescent dye, such as Hoechst 33342. Recently, many researches proposed that SP phenotype is a phenotype shared by some stem cells and some pro- genitor cells, and that SP phenotype is regarded as a candidate purification marker for stem cells. In this research, murine fertilized ova (including conjugate and single nucleus fertilized ova), 2-cell stage and 8-cell stage blastomeres, morulas and blastocysts were isolated and directly stained by Hoechst 33342 dye. The results show that fertilized ovum, blastomere and morula cells do not demonstrate any ability to efflux the dye. However, the inner cell mass (ICM) cells of blastocyst exhibit SP phenotype, which is consistent with the result of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) in vitro. These results indicate that the SP phenotype of ICM-derived ESCs is an intrinsic property and independent of the culture condition in vitro, and that SP phenotype is one of the characteristics of at least some pluripotent stem cells, but is not shared by totipotent stem cells. In addition, the result that the SP phenotype of ICM cells disap- peared when the inhibitor verapamil was added into medium implies that the SP phenotype is directly associated with ABCG2. 12A new model of selective photothermolysis to aid laser treatment of port wine stains显示文摘Pulsed dye lasers equipped with cryogen spray cooling(CSC) are now widely used to treat vascular malformation such as port wine stains(PWSs).This paper presents a new integrated model that can quantitatively simulate the cooling of the skin and the heating of the targeted blood vessels in PWSs during laser treatment.The new model is based on the classical homogeneous multi-layer skin model that treats PWS-containing dermis as a mixture of dermal tissue and homogeneously distributed blood.Light propagation in skin and PWSs is simulated by a Monte-Carlo method,which provides accurate description of the light scattering and absorption in the skin.Thermal response of a targeted vessel in the new model is then obtained from the thermal analysis of a Krogh-unit that consists of the vessel and the surrounding dermal tissues and is buried in PWSs.The results from the multi-layer skin model provide appropriate laser influence input as well as the initial thermal condition for the micro-model of the Krogh-unit.A general dynamic relation is also introduced on the surface of skin to quantify the convective cooling of CSC.The model is then applied to dye-laser treatment(wavelength of 585 nm) of PWSs with CSC.Numerical results demonstrate that the present model is able to quantify thermal response of a deeply buried blood vessel in PWSs as a discrete blood vessel does,with a more realistically estimate of the sheltering effect of the dermal tissue(scattering) and blood vessels(absorption) in front of the targeted vessel.To understand the poor response of PWSs in clinic,the thermal characteristics of a targeted vessel was simulated under various conditions.The effects of two morphological parameters,the vessel diameter and the burying depth of the vessel,are then systematically investigated under various pulse durations and fluences of laser.A threshold fluence for given vessel diameter and depth is then estimated quantitatively under the condition of the optimal laser pulse duration.The results indicate that significant high threshold fluence is needed for large vessels buried deeply in the dermis,explaining the physics of the difficulty in clinic of complete clearance of PWSs.The results provide guidance to the clinic selection of the laser pulse duration and laser energy fluence for given PWSs.LI Dong HE YaLing WANG GuoXiang WANG YongXian YING ZhaoXia 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,3:2

20Neurogranin as an important regulator in swimming training to improve the spatial memory dysfunction of mice with chronic cerebral hypoperfusion显示文摘Background:Vascular cognitive impairment caused by chronic cerebral hypoperfusion(CCH)has become a hot issue worldwide.Aerobic exercise positively contributes to the preservation or restoration of cognitive abilities;however,the specific mechanism has remained inconclusive.And recent studies found that neurogranin(Ng)is a potential biomarker for cognitive impairment.This study aims to investigate the underlying role of Ng in swimming training to improve cognitive impairment.Methods:To test this hypothesis,the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)-associated protein 9(Cas9)system was utilized to construct a strain of Ng conditional knockout(Ng cKO)mice,and bilateral common carotid artery stenosis(BCAS)surgery was performed to prepare the model.In Experiment 1,2-month-old male and female transgenic mice were divided into a control group(wild-type littermate,n=9)and a Ng cKO group(n=9).Then,2-month-old male and female C57BL/6 mice were divided into a sham group(C57BL/6,n=12)and a BCAS group(n=12).In Experiment 2,2-month-old male and female mice were divided into a sham group(wild-type littermate,n=12),BCAS group(n=12),swim group(n=12),BCAS+Ng cKO group(n=12),and swim+Ng cKO group(n=12).Then,7 days after BCAS,mice were given swimming training for 5 weeks(1 week for adaptation and 4 weeks for training,5 days a week,60 min a day).After intervention,laser speckle was used to detect cerebral blood perfusion in the mice,and the T maze and Morris water maze were adopted to test their spatial memory.Furthermore,electrophysiology and Western blotting were conducted to record long-term potential and observe the expressions of Ca^(2+)pathway-related proteins,respectively.Immunohistochemistry was applied to analyze the expression of relevant markers in neuronal damage,inflammation,and white matter injury.Results:The figures showed that spatial memory impairment was detected in Ng cKO mice,and a sharp decline of cerebral blood flow and an impairment of progressive spatial memory were observed in BCAS mice.Regular swimming training improved the spatial memory impairment of BCAS mice.This was achieved by preventing long-term potential damage and reversing the decline of Ca^(2+)signal transduction pathway-related proteins.At the same time,the results suggested that swimming also led to improvements in neuronal death,inflammation,and white matter injury induced by CCH.Further study adopted the use of Ng cKO transgenic mice,and the results indicated that the positive effects of swimming training on cognitive impairments,synaptic plasticity,and related pathological changes caused by CCH could be abolished by the knockout of Ng.Conclusion:Swimming training can mediate the expression of Ng to enhance hippocampal synaptic plasticity and improve related pathological changes induced by CCH,thereby ameliorating the spatial memory impairment of vascular cognitive impairment.Huawei Lin Jiayong Zhang Yaling Dai Huanhuan Liu Xiaojun He Lewen Chen Jing Tao Chaohui Li Weilin Liu 2023Journal of Sport and Health Science2023,12,1:1
