| 1 | Application of Hot Forming High Strength Steel Parts on Car Body in Side Impact显示文摘Lightweight structure is an important method to increase vehicle fuel efficiency.High strength steel is applied for replacing mild steel in automotive structures to decrease thickness of parts for lightweight.However,the lightweight structures must show the improved capability for structural rigidity and crash energy absorption.Advanced high strength steels are attractive materials to achieve higher strength for energy absorption and reduce weight of vehicles.Currently,many research works focus on component level axial crash testing and simulation of high strength steels.However,the effects of high strength steel parts to the impact of auto body are not considered.The goal of this research is to study the application of hot forming high strength steel(HFHSS) in order to evaluate the potential using in vehicle design for lightweight and passive safety.The performance of HFHSS is investigated by using both experimental and analytical techniques.In particular,the focus is on HFHSS which may have potential to enhance the passive safety for lightweight auto body.Automotive components made of HFHSS and general high strength steel(GHSS) are considered in this study.The material characterization of HFHSS is carried out through material experiments.The finite element method,in conjunction with the validated model is used to simulate the side impact of a car with GHSS and HFHSS parts according to China New Car Assessment Programme(C-NCAP) crash test.The deformation and acceleration characteristics of car body are analyzed and the injuries of an occupant are calculated.The results from the simulation analyses of HFHSS are compared with those of GHSS.The comparison indicates that the HFHSS parts on car body enhance the passive safety for the lightweight car body in side impact.Parts of HFHSS reduce weight of vehicle through thinner thickness offering higher strength of parts.Passive safety of lightweight car body is improved through reduction of crash deformation on car body by the application of HFHSS parts.The experiments and simulation are conducted to the HFHSS parts on auto body.The results demonstrate the feasibility of the application of HFHSS materials on automotive components for improved capability of passive safety and lightweight. | SUN Hongtu HU Ping MA Ning SHEN Guozhe LIU Bo ZHOU Dinglu | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,2: | 19 |
| 2 | Effect of Cl^- on the Properties of the Passive Films Formed on 316L Stainless Steel in Acidic Solution显示文摘The corrosion behavior of 316L stainless steel(316L SS) has been investigated in solutions containing various concentrations of chloride ions by using potentiodynamic polarization, capacitance measurement and Motte Schottky relationship analysis(Me S). The result indicates that passive currents change slightly with the addition of chloride ions. The pitting potential(Epit) decreases linearly with log[Cl ]. Correspondingly, the point defect diffusion coefficient(Do) of the passive film increases linearly with increasing log[Cl ]. | 3 | Design and performance analysis of position-based impedance control for an electrohydrostatic actuation system显示文摘Electrohydrostatic actuator(EHA) is a type of power-by-wire actuator that is widely implemented in the aerospace industry for flight control, landing gears, thrust reversers, thrust vector control, and space robots. This paper presents the development and evaluation of positionbased impedance control(PBIC) for an EHA. Impedance control provides the actuator with compliance and facilitates the interaction with the environment. Most impedance control applications utilize electrical or valve-controlled hydraulic actuators, whereas this work realizes impedance control via a compact and efficient EHA. The structures of the EHA and PBIC are firstly introduced. A mathematical model of the actuation system is established, and values of its coefficients are identified by particle swarm optimization. This model facilitates the development of a position controller and the selection of target impedance parameters. A nonlinear proportional-integral position controller is developed for the EHA to achieve the accurate positioning requirement of PBIC. The controller compensates for the adverse effect of stiction, and a position accuracy of 0.08 mm is attained.Various experimental results are presented to verify the applicability of PBIC to the EHA. | 5 | Effects of Acanthopanax senticosus on learning and memory in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease and protection against free radical injury to brain tissue显示文摘BACKGROUND: Acanthopanax senticosus,a plant of the Araliaceae family,is used in traditional Chinese medicine. It can be used to replenish Qi,strengthen the spleen,tonify the kidney,and relieve mental strain. OBJECTIVE: To observe effects of Acanthopanax senticosus on learning and memory in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease and abnormal biochemical changes in the brain tissue. DESIGN: A completely randomized grouping,controlled animal experiment. SETTING: Department of Preventive Medicine,School of Basic Medical Sciences,Yanbian University. MATERIALS: A total of 50 Kunming mice,aged 1-1.5 months,equal numbers of males and females,were provided by the Laboratory Animal Center,Yanbian University Medical College. The study was performed in accordance with ethical guidelines for the use and care of animals. Acanthopanax was provided by Yanbian Chengda Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. Acanthopanax senticosus (0.5 kg) was soaked in water for 1 hour and transferred to 1.5 kg distilled water for extraction. It was boiled for 1 hour and extracted after 1 hour of boiling. The procedure was repeated 3 times. The extract was condensed to 500 mL and then adjusted to 500 and 1 000 g/L with water. Piracetam tablets were produced by Shandong Luoxin Pharmaceutical Corporation,China. Malonaldehyde (MDA),superoxide dismutase (SOD),and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) kits were purchased from Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Co.,Ltd.,China. METHODS: This study was performed at the Department of Preventive Medicine,School of Basic Medical Sciences,Yanbian University from January to June 2007. All mice were randomly divided into 5 groups with 10 mice in each: control group,model group,low-,and high-dose Acanthopanax senticosus-treated groups,and piracetam-treated group. All groups were administered 0.1 mL/10 g. In the control and model groups,mice were intragastrically administered saline each morning for 5 days prior to experimentation. Five days later,they were intraperitoneally perfused with saline and aluminum trichloride (100 mg/kg),respectively,every other afternoon. In the low-and high-dose Acanthopanax senticosus-treated groups,as well as the piracetam-treated groups,mice were intragastrically administered 500 and 1 000 g/L Acanthopanax senticosus and 23 g/L piracetam suspension,respectively,every morning. Five days later,they were intraperitoneally perfused with aluminum trichloride (100 mg/kg) every other afternoon,20 successive times. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: On days 20,23,26,and 29 after treatment,time-to-platform,number of errors,and accuracy were measured by water maze. After anesthesia,mice were euthanized and whole brain tissues were immediately resected and homogenized. MDA levels,and SOD and AChE activities,were measured using the corresponding kits. RESULTS: Fifty mice were included in the final analysis. In the model group,accuracy increased,and time-to-platform was prolonged,compared to control group (P < 0.05-0.01). In the model group,MDA levels significantly increased (P < 0.05),while SOD activity significantly decreased (P < 0.01),compared to control group. MDA levels were significantly lower and SOD activity was significantly higher in the low-and high-dose Acanthopanax senticosus-treated groups,compared to the model group (P < 0.05-0.01). In the model group,AChE activity significantly increased,compared to the control group (P < 0.05). AChE activity was significantly lower in the high-dose Acanthopanax senticosus-treated and the piracetam-treated groups than in the model group (P < 0.05). | 7 | The Origin of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake Determined by the Analysis on the Active Longmenshan Nappe in Terms of Rockmass Mechanics显示文摘On 12 May 2008, the magnitude 8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake occurred along the Longmen Shan nappe, Sichuan, China. This devastating earthquake led to a heavy death toll of greater than 80,000. The seismic origin of this earthquake is currently hotly debated. We suppose that it is a special type of intraplate earthquake called an active-nappe-type earthquake. Using a holistic methodology, incorporating rockmass structure cybernetics and Byerlee's law, we present a comprehensive study on the geological origin of macroseisms in the Longmen Shan area and the seismic origin of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. Previous studies of neotectonic activity indicate that the Longmen Shan nappe moves at a rate of 1~3 mm/yr, due to horizontal compressive stress from the Tibetan Plateau. The difference between movement rates in the Bayankala block, Longmen Shan nappe and Sichuan Basin cause slow shear stress and strain accumulation in the Longmen Shan nappe. It is exhibited a relatively simple linear relations for the shear strength and the buried depth of the structural planes, and the detachment layer of the nappe has a higher shearing-sliding strength compared to the overlying fault planes and the underlying ductile shear belts, thus making it more prone to stick-slip deformation. Therefore, the detachment layer was the main section responsible for the Wenchuan earthquake. The initial rupture burst in the detachment layer under the Yingxiu-Beichuan fault, the rupture area nearly 1.4454 × 104 km2,encompassed the cross point of the Yingxiu and the Anxian-Guanxian faults with the detachment layer, then caused the Yingxiu-Beichuan and Anxian-Guanxian faults took an active part in this earthquake, so this earthquake might consist of three chain-like earthquake stages, totally increasing the duration of this earthquake an unusually large amount, to 120 s. | 8 | Dry-regulated hydrogels with anisotropic mechanical performance and ionic conductivity显示文摘Nature consists of various soft tissues with well-ordered hierarchical anisotropic structures, which play essential roles in biological systems to exhibit particular functions. Mimicking bio-tissues, synthetic hydrogels with anisotropic structures have received considerable attention in recent years. However, existing approaches to fabricate anisotropic hydrogels often require complicated procedures, which are timeconsuming and labor-demanding. Inspired by the dry-induced crystallization phenomenon, we report a simple yet effective prestretching-drying-swelling method to afford anisotropic crystalline polyvinyl alcohol hydrogels. Owing to the distinct anisotropic microstructure, the hydrogels demonstrate excellent mechanical properties with noticeable directional distinction. It is revealed that both the enhancing of pre-orientation strain and the extending of heating time make the hydrogels with better mechanical properties and more remarkable anisotropicity. Owing to the anisotropically aligned structure, the hydrogels exhibit remarkably differential ionic conductivity: the difference between the parallel and vertical conductivity of the same sample can reach as high as 6.6 times, making the materials possible candidates as nano-conductive materials. | 11 | Graphene-like two-dimensional nanosheets-based anticorrosive coatings: A review显示文摘In recent years, graphene has been widely employed in the field of metal corrosion protection owing to its outstanding impermeability and chemical stability, with examples of such metal protection including pure graphene coatings and graphene-based composite coatings. But the conductive graphene could promote the electrochemical reaction at the interface and accelerate the corrosion of metal substrates. More emerging graphene-like 2D nanosheets are attracting research attention for the application of metal anticorrosion, because of their barrier properties and poor conductivity, mainly including boron nitride(BN),molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)), zirconium phosphate(ZrP), and titanium carbide(MXene). In this review,the application of these graphene-like 2D nanosheets to metal protection is comprehensively reviewed.First, the general preparation methods of 2D nanosheets are briefly introduced. Second, surface functionalization of 2D nanosheets, including covalent and non-covalent modification, is described in detail.Third, the anticorrosion performance and optimization measures of pure 2D nanosheets coatings are summarized. Next, the protection performance, anticorrosive mechanism, and optimizations of 2D nanosheets composite coatings are presented. | 12 | Low-valence ion addition induced more compact passive films on nickel-copper nano-coatings显示文摘Ni-Cu nano-coatings were prepared by pulsed electroplating technique in the baths containing various amount of boric acid. Their microstructure, morphologies and corrosion resistance were characterized in detail. The addition of boric acid strongly influences on the microstructure of the Ni-Cu coatings.The coating with a grain size of 130 nm, obtained from the bath containing 35 g L^-1 boric acid, shows the highest corrosion resistance. This is attributed to the low-valence Cu ion(Cu^+) additions in nickel oxide, which could significantly decrease the oxygen ion vacancy density in the passive film to form a more compact passive film.
