Mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of selective laser melted 316L stainless steel after different heat treatment processes显示文摘Irregular grains, high interfacial stresses and anisotropic properties widely exist in 3D-printed metallic materials, and this paper investigated the effects of heat treatment on the microstructural, mechanical and corrosion properties of 316 L stainless steel fabricated by selective laser melting. Sub-grains and low-angle boundaries exist in the as-received selective laser melted(SLMed) 316 L stainless steel. After heat treatment at 1050℃, the sub-grains and low-angle boundaries changed slightly, and the stress state and strength decreased to some extent due to the decrease of dislocation density. After heat treatment at 1200℃, the grains became uniform, and the dislocation cells vanished, which led to a sharp decline in the hardness and strength. However, the ductility was improved after recrystallization heat treatment. The passive film thickness and corrosion potential of the SLMed 316 L stainless steel decreased after heat treatment, and the pitting potential also decreased due to the accelerated transition from metastable to steady-state pitting;this accelerated transition was caused by the presence of weak passive films at the enlarged pores after heat treatment, especially for an adequate solid solution treatment.Decheng Kong Chaofang Dong Xiaoqing Ni Liang Zhang Jizheng Yao Cheng Man Xuequn Cheng Kui Xiao Xiaogang Li 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,7:23
Effects of Applied Magnetic Field on Corrosion of Beryllium Copper in NaCl Solution显示文摘The effects of an applied magnetic field on the corrosion process of beryllium copper in NaCl solution have been investigated by electrochemical measurements, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The results showed that a horizontal magnetic field with 0.4 T barely shifted the open circuit potentials (Ecorr) of beryllium copper in NaCl solution with different concentrations. However, the horizontal magnetic field increased the limiting current density of beryllium copper in NaCl solution with low concentration, while decreased the limiting current density of beryllium copper in NaCl solution with high concentration. It was found that magnetic field accelerated the diffusion of CuCl2- away from the electrode surface and delayed the formation of Cu2O. The results of SEM and EDS showed that the inffuence of magnetic field over the elements distribution of the corrosion products differed from the different concentration of the immersion solution.Jing Hu, Chaofang Dong, Xiaogang Li and Kui Xiao Corrosion & Protection Center, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Key Laboratory for Corrosion and Protection of Ministry of Education, Beijing 100083, China 2010Journal of Materials Science & Technology2010,26,4:11
Electrochemical corrosion behavior of 300M ultra high strength steel in chloride containing environment显示文摘The electrochemical corrosion behavior of 300M ultra high strength steel in chloride containing environment was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that uniform corrosion occurs on 300M steel during the electrochemical measurements because no anodic passivation phenomenon is observed on polarization curves within the measurement range. The tests also show that 300M steel is highly susceptible to chloride containing solution, which is characterized by corrosion current density increasing with the addition of chlorides, and corrosion potential shifting towards positive direction and corrosion resistance decreasing, positively suggesting that chloride ions speed up the corrosion rate of 300M steel. Mean-while corrosion products on the 300M steel surface formed during the salt spray test are too loose and porous to effectively slow down the corrosion rate. Additionally, a schematic structure of uniform corrosion mechanism can explain that 300M steel has better property of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance than stainless steels.Min SUN Kui XIAO Chaofang DONG Xiaogang LI 2010Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2010,23,4:9
Warpage prediction of the injection-molded strip-like plastic parts显示文摘For most strip-like plastic injection molded parts, whose cross section size is much smaller than their length, the traditional Hele-Shaw model and three-dimensional model do not work well in the prediction of the warpage because of their special shape.A new solution was suggested in this work. The strip-like plastic part was regarded as a little-curved beam macroscopically, and was divided into a few one-dimensional elements. On the section of each elemental node location,two-dimensional thermal finite element analysis was made to obtain the nonuniform thermal stress caused by the time difference of the solidi fication of the plastic melt in the mold. The stress relaxation,or equivalently, strain creep was dealt with by using a special computing model. On the bases of in-mold elastic stress, the final bending moment to the beam was obtained and the warpage was predicted in good agreement with practical cases.Chaofang Wang Ming Huang Changyu Shen Zhenfeng Zhao 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,5:9

Interaction between austein-ferrite phases on passive performance of2205 duplex stainless steel显示文摘The passive behavior of 2205 duplex stainless steel(DSS) and its individual phases(α-phase, γ-phase) in neutral 3.5% NaCl solution was investigated by various electrochemical methods. The results indicated that galvanic effect between α and γ phases cannot deteriorate local corrosion, but favors the enhancement of the passive film. Under the galvanic effect, the diffusion of the dissolved passive cations would be promoted in a short distance between α and γ zones, leading to modifications of the chemical composition and semiconductive property of the passive film and therefore the enhancement of the corrosion resistance of DSS 2205.Xuequn Cheng Yi Wang Xiaogang Li Chaofang Dong 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,11:7
Sea ice extent retrieval with HY-2A scatterometer data and its assessment显示文摘A sea ice extent retrieval algorithm over the polar area based on scatterometer data of HY-2A satellite has been established.Four parameters are used for distinguishing between sea ice and ocean with Fisher's linear discriminant analysis method. The method is used to generate polar sea ice extent maps of the Arctic and Antarctic regions of the full 2013–2014 from the scatterometer aboard HY-2A(HY-2A-SCAT) backscatter data. The time series of the ice mapped imagery shows ice edge evolution and indicates a similar seasonal change trend with total ice area from DMSP-F17 Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder(SSMIS) sea ice concentration data. For both hemispheres, the HY-2A-SCAT extent correlates very well with SSMIS 15% extent for the whole year period.Compared with Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) imagery, the HY-2A-SCAT ice extent shows good correlation with the Sentinel-1 SAR ice edge.Over some ice edge area, the difference is very evident because sea ice edges can be very dynamic and move several kilometers in a single day.SHI Lijian LI Mingming ZHAO Chaofang WANG Zhixiong SHI Yingni ZOU Juhong ZENG Tao 2017Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,8:5

Effect of Microstructures on Corrosion Behavior of Nickel Coatings:(Ⅱ) Competitive Effect of Grain Size and Twins Density on Corrosion Behavior显示文摘Nanocrystalline nickel coatings with grain size of 50 nm were annealed in vacuum at 200°C and 400°C for 10 min.Their microstructures were investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).And their corrosion behaviors were studied by means of polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The results showed that their grain size grew up to about 60 nm(200°C)and 500 nm(400°C),respectively.The specimen annealed at 200°C possessed higher density of twins in compared with the counterparts of as-deposited and annealed at 400°C.The normal grain size effect on the corrosion behavior was not observed. However,it was found that the corrosion resistance of the coating linearly changed with the density of twins.Guozhe Meng Yang Li Yawei Shao Tao Zhang Yanqiu Wang Fuhui Wang Xuequn Cheng Chaofang Dong Xiaogang Li 2016Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,5:5
Field Experiments of Multi-Channel Oceanographic Fluorescence Lidar for Oil Spill and Chlorophyll-a Detection显示文摘A Multi-channel Oceanographic Fluorescence Lidar(MOFL), with a UV excitation at 355 nm and multiple receiving channels at typical wavelengths of fluorescence from oil spills and chlorophyll-a(Chl-a), has been developed using the Laser- induced Fluorescence(LIF) technique. The sketch of the MOFL system equipped with a compact multi-channel photomultiplier tube(MPMT) is introduced in the paper. The methods of differentiating the oil fluorescence from the background water fluorescence and evaluating the Chl-a concentration are described. Two field experiments were carried out to investigate the field performance of the system, i.e., an experiment in coastal areas for oil pollution detection and an experiment over the Yellow Sea for Chl-a monitoring. In the coastal experiment, several oil samples and other fluorescence substances were used to analyze the fluorescence spectral characteristics for oil identification, and to estimate the thickness of oil films at the water surface. The experiment shows that both the spectral shape of fluorescence induced from surface water and the intensity ratio of two channels(I495/I405) are essential to determine oil-spill occurrence. In the airborne experiment, MOFL was applied to measure relative Chl-a concentrations in the upper layer of the ocean. A comparison of relative Chl-a concentration measurements by MOFL and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) indicates that the two datasets are in good agreement. The results show that the MOFL system is capable of monitoring oil spills and Chl-a in the upper layer of ocean water.LI Xiaolong ZHAO Chaofang MA Youjun LIU Zhishen 2014Journal of Ocean University of China2014,13,4:5
Localized Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Study on the Corrosion Behavior of Fe-Cr Alloy in the Solution with Cl^- and SO_4^(2-)显示文摘The corrosion behaviors of Fe-Cr alloy under three different pH values solutions with Cl- and SO42- were investigated by localized electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (LEIS) measurements and the corrosion products were analyzed by laser Raman spectrometry. The results show that the high corrosion resistance of Fe-Cr Alloy is attributed to a passive film which is formed more easily when the alloy contains a large quantity of Cr element. However, its corrosion resistance varies in the solutions with different pH values, especially in the initial corrosion. The average impedance values in neutral and alkaline solution are much higher than that in acidic solution because the passive film is more likely to dissolve in the acidic condition. Moreover, the destructive effect of Cl- and SO42+ ions on the passive film is also demonstrated in corrosion process through the change of the impedance value with the steeping time.肖葵 ZHANG Xin D0NG Chaofang WEI Dan WANG Chen LI Xiaogang 2012Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2012,27,1:5
Initial formation of corrosion products on pure zinc in simulated body fluid显示文摘Zinc was recently suggested to be a potential candidate material for degradable coronary artery stent. The corrosion behavior of pure zinc exposed to r-SBF up to 336 h was investigated by electrochemical measurements and immersion tests. The morphology and chemical composites of the corrosion products were investigated by scanning electron microscope, grazing-incidence X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. The results demonstrate that the initial corrosion products on the pure zinc mainly consist of zinc oxide/hydroxide and zinc/calcium phosphate compounds. The pure Zn encounters uniform corrosion with an estimated corrosion rate of 0.02-0.07 mmy^(-1) during the immersion, which suggests the suitability of pure Zn for biomedical applications.Lijun Liu Yao Meng Chaofang Dong Yu Yan Alex A.Volinsky Lu-Ning Wang 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,12:4
Galvanic Corrosion of Magnesium Alloy and Aluminum Alloy by Kelvin Probe显示文摘Galvanic corrosion on samples of AZ91D magnesium alloy coupled with 2A12 aluminum alloy during neutral salt spray test was investigated. The variations of the surface potential were measured using scanning kelvin probe(SKP).The results showed that galvanic effect on the corrosion of AZ91D magnesium alloy is closely related to the potential difference between the anodic and cathodic materials. In the initial period, corrosion only occurred in a narrow area at the coupling interface because of the limited distance galvanic current. Then, the corrosion rate of 2A12 aluminum alloy was accelerated due to its poor stability in strong alkali environment, which was attributed to the strong alkalization caused by the corrosion of AZ91D magnesium alloy. With the increase of the potential of 2A12 aluminum alloy as a result of the continuous covering of corrosion products, the potential difference between the two materials was enlarged, which enhanced the galvanic corrosion.肖葵 DONG Chaofang WEI Dan WU Junsheng LI Xiaogang 2016Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2016,31,1:4
Pitting and galvanic corrosion behavior of stainless steel with weld in wet-dry environment containing Cl^-显示文摘Accelerated corrosion test of stainless steel with weld was carried out to investigate the corrosion behavior under the wet-dry cyclic condition in the atmosphere containing Cl?. In the surface morphology, corrosion products were analyzed by metal- lographic observation, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that the damage to stainless steel with weld in the atmosphere containing Cl? is due to localized corrosion, especially pitting and galvanic corrosion. Weld acts as the anode, whereas matrix acts as the cathode in the corrosion process. The pitting corrosion, including the nucleation and growth of a stable pit, is promoted by the presence of wet-dry cycles, especially during the drying stage. Pits centralizing in weld are found to be grouped together like colonies, with a number of smaller pits surrounding a larger pit. The composition of the corro- sion products is Fe2O3, Cr2O3, Fe3O4, NiCrO4, etc.Cui Lin Xiaogang Li Chaofang Dong 2007Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2007,14,6:3
Agricultural Risk Factors Influence Microbial Ecology in Honghu Lake显示文摘Agricultural activities, including stock-farming, planting industry, and fish aquaculture, can affect the physicochemical and biological characters of freshwater lakes. However, the effects of pollution producing by agricultural activities on microbial ecosystem of lakes remain unclear.Hence, in this work, we selected Honghu Lake as a typical lake that is influenced by agriculture activities. We collected water and sediment samples from 18 sites, which span a wide range of areas from impacted and less-impacted areas. We performed a geospatial analysis on the composition of microbial communities associated with physicochemical properties and antibiotic pollution of samples. The co-occurrence networks of water and sediment were also built and analyzed. Our results showed that the microbial communities of impacted and less-impacted samples of water were largely driven by the concentrations of TN, TP, NO_3^--N, and NO_2^--N, while those of sediment were affected by the concentrations of Sed-OM and Sed-TN. Antibiotics have also played important roles in shaping these microbial communities: the concentrations of oxytetracycline and tetracycline clearly reflected the variance in taxonomic diversity and predicted functional diversity between impacted and less-impacted sites in water and sediment samples, respectively. Furthermore, for samples from both water and sediment, large differences of network topology structures between impacted and less-impacted were also observed. Our results provide compelling evidence that the microbial community can be used as a sentinel of eutrophication and antibiotics pollution risk associated with agricultural activity; and that proper monitoring of this environment is vital to maintain a sustainable environment in Honghu Lake.Maozhen Han Melissa Dsouza Chunyu Zhou Hongjun Li Junqian Zhang Chaoyun Chen Qi Yao Chaofang Zhong Hao Zhou Jack A Gilbert Zhi Wang Kang Ning 2019Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,1:3
Mechanistic Studies of Atmospheric Corrosion Behavior of Al and Al-based Alloys in a Tropical Marine Environment显示文摘Atmospheric corrosion behavior of pure Al 1050 A, 5A02 and 6A02 aluminum alloys exposed to a tropical marine environment for 4 years was investigated. Synergetic effect of Cl^-deposition rate and time of wetness resulted in an abnormal increase in weight loss and a significant fluctuation in corrosion rate. Pitting corrosion occurred on the three metals. Pits on 5A02 alloy were easy to initiate and inclined to propagate laterally to form higher corrosion area and shallower corrosion pits, while pits on 6A02 alloy presented the opposite appearances. This was further confirmed by the cyclic polarization experiments.崔中雨 GE Feng 李晓刚 ZHU Min XIAO Kui DONG Chaofang WANG Xin 2017Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2017,32,3:2

Design materials based on simulation results of silicon induced segregation at AlSi10Mg interface fabricated by selective laser melting显示文摘AlSi10Mg fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM)had a unique network-like silicon-rich structure, and the mechanism for its formation was explained by molecular dynamics(MD)simulations. The effects of the silicon-rich phase and Mg-containing structure on corrosion were studied by first-principles methods.According to the simulations, corrosion resistant materials were designed, samples with laser powers of 150 W,200 W and 250 W were fabricated. The results indicated that a local thermal gradient during laser printing caused Si segregation, and the rapid cooling rate lead to a large number of subgrains, which assisted precipitation. The difference in potential caused galvanic corrosion, and a structure with low work function in the molten pool caused pitting. The corrosion resistance of materials processed with a high laser power increased.Yuchengji Chaofang Dong Decheng Kong Xiaogang Li 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,11:2
Analysis of impacting factors on polarimetric SAR oil spill detection显示文摘Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar(SAR) oil spill detection parameters conformity coefficient(μ), Muller matrix parameters(|C|, B_0), the eigenvalues of simplified coherency matrix(λ_(nos)) and the influence of SAR observing parameters, ocean environment and noise level are investigated. Radarsat-2 data are used to make systematic analysis of polarimetric parameters for different incidences, wind speeds, noise levels and the ocean phenomena(oil slick and look likes). The influence of the SAR observing parameters, the ocean environment and the noise level on the typical polarimetric SAR parameter conformity coefficient has been analyzed. The results indicate that conformity coefficient cannot be simply used for oil spill detection, which represents the image signal to the noise level to some extent. When the signals are below the noise level for the oil slick and the look likes, the conformity coefficients are negative; while the signals above the noise level corresponds to positive conformity coefficients. For dark patches(low wind and biogenic slick) with the signal below the noise, polarization features such as conformity coefficient cannot separate them with oil slick. For the signal above the noise, the oil slick, the look likes(low wind and biogenic slick) and clean sea all have positive conformity coefficients, among which, the oil slick has the smallest conformity coefficient, the look likes the second, and the clean sea the largest value. For polarimetric SAR data oil spill detection, the noise plays a significant role. So the polarimetric SAR data oil spill detection should be carried out on the basis of noise consideration.SONG Shasha ZHAO Chaofang AN Wei LI Xiaofeng WANG Chen 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,11:2
Multi-action self-healing coatings with simultaneous recovery of corrosion resistance and adhesion strength显示文摘In this study, a new self-healing strategy that can simultaneously recover the corrosion resistance and the adhesion strength of coatings was introduced. The coating was based on a shape memory epoxy resin containing ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) microspheres loaded with Ce(NO_(3))_(3)inhibitors, and was cured at a relatively high temperature to facilitate the fusion of adjacent microspheres for a strengthened self-healing effect. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM) results demonstrated that the shape memory effect of epoxy matrix, the filling of molten EVA microspheres as well as the release of Ce(NO_(3))_(3)inhibitors contributed synergistically to suppress the corrosion reaction at the coating damage. After healing, the low frequency impedance modulus of the coatings containing Ce(NO_(3))_(3)-EVA microspheres was three orders of magnitude higher than that of the blank epoxy coating. The adhesion strength of the coatings containing Ce(NO_(3))_(3)-EVA microspheres on the metal substrate was also largely repaired thanks to the strong bonding effect of the EVA microspheres.Chenhao Ren Yao Huang Wenkui Hao Dawei Zhang Xiejing Luo Lingwei Ma Jinke Wang Thee Chowwanonthapunya Chaofang Dong Xiaogang Li 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,6:2
