1Single whispering-gallery mode lasing in polymer bottle microresonators via spatial pump engineering显示文摘Single-mode lasing in whispering-gallery mode(WGM)microresonators is challenging to achieve.In bottle microresonators,the highly non-degenerated WGMs are spatially well-separated along the long-axis direction and provide mode-selection capability.In this work,by engineering the pump intensity to modify the spatial gain profiles of bottle microresonators,we demonstrate a simple and general approach to realizing single-mode WGM lasing in polymer bottle microresonators.The pump intensity is engineered into an interference distribution on the bottle microresonator surface.By tuning the spacing between axial positions of the interference pump patterns,the mode intensity profiles of single-bottle WGMs can be spatially overlapped with the interference stripes,intrinsically enabling single-mode lasing and selection.Attractive advantages of the system,including high sidemode suppression factors 420 dB,large spectral tunability 48 nm,low-lasing threshold and reversible control,are presented.Our demonstrated approach may have a variety of promising applications,ranging from tunable single-mode lasing and sensing to nonlinear optics.Fuxing Gu Fuming Xie Xing Lin Shuangyi Linghu Wei Fang Heping Zeng Limin Tong Songlin Zhuang 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:17

3Targeting a novel inducible GPX4 alternative isoform to alleviate ferroptosis and treat metabolic-associated fatty liver disease显示文摘Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),which is previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),represents a major health concern worldwide with limited therapy.Here,we provide evidence that ferroptosis,a novel form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-driven lipid peroxidation,was comprehensively activated in liver tissues from MAFLD patients.The canonical-GPX4(cGPX4),which is the most important negative controller of ferroptosis,is downregulated at protein but not mRNA level.Interestingly,a non-canonical GPX4 transcript-variant is induced(inducible-GPX4,iGPX4)in MAFLD condition.The high fat-fructose/sucrose diet(HFFD)and methionine/choline-deficient diet(MCD)-induced MAFLD pathologies,including hepatocellular ballooning,steatohepatitis andfibrosis,were attenuated and aggravated,respectively,in cGPX4-and iGPX4-knockin mice.cGPX4 and iGPX4 isoforms also displayed opposing effects on oxidative stress and ferroptosis in hepatocytes.Knockdown of iGPX4 by siRNA alleviated lipid stress,ferroptosis and cell injury.Mechanistically,the triggered iGPX4 interacts with cGPX4 to facilitate the transformation of cGPX4 from enzymatic-active monomer to enzymatic-inactive oligomers upon lipid stress,and thus promotes ferroptosis.Co-immunoprecipitation and nano LC–MS/MS analyses confirmed the interaction between iGPX4 and cGPX4.Our results reveal a detrimental role of non-canonical GPX4 isoform in ferroptosis,and indicate selectively targeting iGPX4 may be a promising therapeutic strategy for MAFLD.Jie Tong Dongjie Li Hongbo Meng Diyang Sun Xiuting Lan Min Ni Jiawei Ma Feiyan Zeng Sijia Sun Jiangtao Fu Guoqiang Li Qingxin Ji Guoyan Zhang Qirui Shen Yuanyuan Wang Jiahui Zhu Yi Zhao Xujie Wang Yi Liu Shenxi Ouyang Chunquan Sheng Fuming Shen Pei Wang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,9:3
4An enrichment model using regular health examination data for early detection of colorectal cancer显示文摘Objective: Challenges remain in current practices of colorectal cancer(CRC) screening, such as low compliance,low specificities and expensive cost. This study aimed to identify high-risk groups for CRC from the general population using regular health examination data.Methods: The study population consist of more than 7,000 CRC cases and more than 140,000 controls. Using regular health examination data, a model detecting CRC cases was derived by the classification and regression trees(CART) algorithm. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was applied to evaluate the performance of models. The robustness and generalization of the CART model were validated by independent datasets. In addition, the effectiveness of CART-based screening was compared with stool-based screening.Results: After data quality control, 4,647 CRC cases and 133,898 controls free of colorectal neoplasms were used for downstream analysis. The final CART model based on four biomarkers(age, albumin, hematocrit and percent lymphocytes) was constructed. In the test set, the area under ROC curve(AUC) of the CART model was 0.88 [95%confidence interval(95% CI), 0.87-0.90] for detecting CRC. At the cutoff yielding 99.0% specificity, this model’s sensitivity was 62.2%(95% CI, 58.1%-66.2%), thereby achieving a 63-fold enrichment of CRC cases. We validated the robustness of the method across subsets of test set with diverse CRC incidences, aging rates, genders ratio, distributions of tumor stages and locations, and data sources. Importantly, CART-based screening had the higher positive predictive value(1.6%) than fecal immunochemical test(0.3%).Conclusions: As an alternative approach for the early detection of CRC, this study provides a low-cost method using regular health examination data to identify high-risk individuals for CRC for further examinations. 5Hierarchical NiMoP_(2)-Ni_(2)P with amorphous interface as superior bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting显示文摘Producing highly efficient bifunctional catalyst for the generation of hydrogen and oxygen through overall water splitting is an emerging direction in electrocatalysis.Herein,a dandelion-like hierarchical NiMoP_(2)-Ni_(2)P(nanowire/nanoparticle)heterostructure was synthesized for efficient electrochemical water splitting.The NiMoP_(2)-Ni_(2)P heterostructures grown on carbon cloth as a freestanding integrated electrode exhibited excellent oxygen evolution reaction(OER)activity and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activities with low overpotentials(258 mV and 53 mV to reach 10 mA cm~(-2)for the OER and HER,respectively),and small Tafel slope(45 mV dec^(-1)and 58 mV dec^(-1)for the OER and HER,respectively).Moreover,the NiMoP_(2)-Ni_(2)P heterostructure can act as both anode and cathode catalysts for overall water splitting with low overall potential of 1.48 V at 10 mA cm~(-2).Density functional theory(DFT)combined with structural probes suggests that the amorphous heterogeneous interfaces play an essential role in enhanced catalytic performance.Gaoqi Tian Songrui Wei Zhangtao Guo Shiwei Wu Zhongli Chen Fuming Xu Yang Cao Zheng Liu Jieqiong Wang Lei Ding Jinchun Tu Hao Zeng 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,18:1
6An approach of dynamic response analysis of nonlinear structures based on least square Volterra kernel function identification显示文摘Analysis of the dynamic response of a complex nonlinear system is always a difficult problem.By using Volterra functional series to describe a nonlinear system,its response analysis can be similar to using Fourier/Laplace transform and linear transfer function method to analyse a linear system’s response.In this paper,a dynamic response analysis method for nonlinear systems based on Volterra series is developed.Firstly,the recursive formula of the least square method is established to solve the Volterra kernel function vector,and the corresponding MATLAB programme is compiled.Then,the Volterra kernel vector corresponding to the nonlinear response of a structure under seismic excitation is identified,and the accuracy and applicability of using the kernel vector to predict the response of a nonlinear structure are analysed.The results show that the Volterra kernel function identified by the derived recursive formula can accurately describe the nonlinear response characteristics of a structure under an excitation.For a general nonlinear system,the first three order Volterra kernel function can relatively accurately express its nonlinear response characteristics.In addition,the obtained Volterra kernel function can be used to accurately predict the nonlinear response of a structure under the similar type of dynamic load.Zhenhao Zhang Jun Xiong Zhenpeng Zhao Fuming Wang Yi Zeng Bing Zhao Lu Ke 2023Transportation Safety and Environment2023,5,2:0
7Characteristics and close-range exploration methods of near- Earth asteroid 2016HO_(3)显示文摘The characteristics of asteroids are vital parameters for planning asteroid exploration missions.These characteristics have been explored in close range for some typical asteroids,and are summarized in the article.This allows estimates of the characteristics of asteroid 2016HO_(3),the target of the first Chinese asteroid exploration mission,Tianwen 2.We obtain 80 characteristic parameters in 9 categories and analyze their impacts on the mission.By comparing three close-range exploration modes,we provide advantages and disadvantages of each,and propose suitable methods for the exploration of 2016HO_(3).Owing to the weak gravity and small size of 2016HO_(3),a combination of multiple hovering positions and active orbiting is recommended for scientific exploration.He Zhang Fei Li Linzhi Meng Fuming Zeng Xiaoyu Jia Yu’ang Liu 2024Astronomical Techniques and Instruments2024,1,1:0
